Authenticity to grow your business
You've heard it many times: Authenticity is a must for sustained business growth. But what exactly does it entail to be authentic? How vulnerable should you allow yourself to be? How to deal with the fear of rejection and judgment? Entrepreneur and host of Executives After Hours Podcast, James Kelley, visits "Magnificent Time" to share his best insights on the subject. Milana Leshinsky : The Simplicity Principle to Grow Your Business
Even though you started your business with passion, excitement, and dreams of doing work you love, you might now feel that your business is running you and your life. You're overwhelmed, and always feel like you have to be “on." Simplicity Circle Founder Milana Leshinsky fell into the trap of wanting to do it all to achieve the perfect idea of "success." She published her first print book, “Coaching Millions”, hosted the world’s very first telesummit, created Recurring Revenue Revolution live event, developed nearly 30 business courses, started and sold a software company, and co-founded JV Insider Circle. That's how she made her first million. But when she finally surpassed seven figures, she didn't even notice because she was too busy working. What's simple for one person might be complex for another. It's only once you figure out your natural abilities that you'll be able to align with activities that allow you to grow your business with ease. Simplicity starts with a new mindset. You'll need to make a decision to let go of the "have to's." Milana says that there's a time for working hard ("temporary complexity,") when you might do something complex because it will result in simplicity in the future. But then, your focus needs to be on what creates results with ease. Ignore the noise and trust your own inner voice. What works for someone else (even if they're so-called guru's) might not work for you. You have your own interests, goals, passion, natural abilities and super skills. Observe and adopt the "simplicity filter." You'll be able to leverage the efforts that match your super skills--and that's when you'll see the best results. Avoid blaming yourself if you try a strategy that didn't work. Instead, figure out whether your skills are better matched for a different marketing strategy. Skills assessments are usually geared toward what kind of occupations you would be good at, but Milana's Simplicity principle allows you to figure out what business strategies would work best for you. That's why she put it all together into an easy-to-follow framework so that growing your business becomes like second nature. Your business is not your life. Your life is your life! For example, a piece of content such as a recorded interview can be re-purposed in many ways. People tend to overestimate what they can accomplish in a week but underestimate what they can accomplish in a year. Just get started and, incrementally, you'll get to where you want to be.
