I have now turned this exact experience into a 5 part process called the Secret Sabbatical Method. This week I am revealing Step #1 of the SSM called "The Breaking and the Awakening". Tune in to learn more. - In each episode of Life With LW, mompreneur, wife and girl boss Lauren Walsh shares her insights on all things life, career, and the perfect imbalance (yes, you read that right) between all of it. Closing the Door on 2020 and Preparing for 2021 - EP 15
Hello, 2021! The podcast is officially back! This year I decided to be extra intentional with how I rang in the new year. And no, I am not talking about what I did when the clock struck midnight, because in all honesty, I was passed out by 11pm. I am talking about the process that I went through to ensure that I adequately closed the door on 2020 and then intentionally walked forward into 2021. The process started weeks ago with figurative and literal detox sessions ranging from green tea baths and ginger tea to burning letters in my backyard. I also took the time to plan ahead in every single area of my life. And this week on the podcast, I am taking you through the entire process while also sharing my NUMBER ONE thing that you need to work on in order to make your New Year's Resolutions stick. If you're looking to make real, lasting change this year, you're going to want to tune in. - In each episode of Life With LW, mompreneur, wife and girl boss Lauren Walsh shares her insights on all things life, career, and the perfect imbalance (yes, you read that right) between all of it. "How will you feel about all of this if your son comes out with dark skin?" - EP 15
It’s no question that it’s a tough time in our country. We all know it. We’ve all been affected by it in some way or another. And as hard as it is, as tired as some of us are, it’s a blessing. Because people are waking up. Not everyone. But some. For me, part of this awakening has been two fold: 1. The pandemic has forced me out of my comfort zone and into a place that required massive innovation. 2. It’s stretched me to want to be a part of the change that has been necessary for a long time. You’re probably wondering where the title of this episode came in. And it was a question that was posed to me last week during a deep conversation about racial injustice. For those who don’t know. I launched an e-course right about the time that George Floyd was killed and as I watched people post their black squares, share their quotes, and seek out organizations to donate to, I felt called to be a part of the change. So as I went back and forth on whether to go forward with the start date, or to postpone it a week or two… I prayed long and hard. And committed to moving forward with what felt right. And as the last spot in the course was filled, without any additional posts on social, I decided to move forward, but with an added later. So we ordered the books White Fragility and Code of the Streets for every member of the course and implemented a weekly conversation, to be led by black women, on the basis of racial injustice. No question or topic was off the table. We encouraged the women to ask the hard questions. We encouraged our black leaders to call us out when our questions or comments could be viewed as racist. And we committed to taking what we learned from each conversation and sharing it with at least one person outside the group. I just wrapped up my second course and that same discussion about race, systemic racism, and injustice happened every single week. And last week, while we shared opinions of what was happening in Wisconsin, across the country, and in the NBA, one of the women posed a question to me, and asked how I will feel about all of this if our son, who is just weeks away from being born, comes out with dark skin - and therefore could very much be any of these black men who in some way or another died for the color of their skin… Tune in as I share my response, along with my thoughts on how I truly wish that we would all take responsibility to be the change that we wish, and need, to see in the world. - In each episode of Life With LW, mompreneur, wife and girl boss Lauren Walsh shares her insights on all things life, career, and the perfect imbalance (yes, you read that right) between all of it. Let's Talk Big Dreams - EP 13
Do you have a big dream? Of course you do. We all do. But for most people at some point life gets in the way and that dream gets pushed to the side, eventually feeling so far away that there’s no way that it could ever become reality. For some it’s kids, bills, or a 9-5 and for others it’s a lack of resources, not enough hours in the day, and little to no motivation. This week Lauren is sharing her philosophy on Big Dreams and the idea that we're all living on borrowed time - which makes it that much more important to overcome all of the obstacles standing in your way, and finally go for it. You'll also learn how Lauren has leveraged her Big Dream and ability to move outside of her comfort zone to maximize her effort during the pandemic, which has subsequently led to an increase in revenue and success in her business. - In each episode of Life With LW, mompreneur, wife and girl boss Lauren Walsh shares her insights on all things life, career, and the perfect imbalance (yes, you read that right) between all of it.
