In their conversation, Chelsea and Shafonne discuss how to learn from failure, the importance of delegating, automating, or deleting tasks from your business, and comporting yourself as the CEO that you want to become. Why delegating, automating, or deleting the tasks you don’t need to do or enjoy doing is a key part of scaling your business. Episode 8: Position Yourself in 2021
Hey, ladypreneurs! As we move into the new year of 2021 and look back at the strange and unsettling time we had in 2020, it is so important to position ourselves for the year ahead. But what exactly does that mean? For one, we need to take note of how the last 12 months have affected us, and let go of the baggage we might be carrying around from this period. Most of us are in a vastly different space and place than we were at this time last year, so we need to get clear on a few things in order to move forward and achieve our dreams. There have been lessons to learn in slowing down, connecting, simplifying and so much more, and if we can just take some of these with us towards the new challenges that we will face in this year and the ones that follow, things will definitely be on the up! So often progress is not about huge wins and huge triumphs, but about small steps taken every day towards a goal, and it is the awareness of our positioning that allows us to lay out these steps. None of us want to get or stay stuck; the familiar pain and discomfort that we often cling to is the enemy! Let's make this year one of exploration and courage, where we confront the unknown in a way that heals and pushes us forward!    Key Points From This Episode:  Looking back at the year of 2020, its crises, and many ups and downs!  The importance of taking the time to listen and get to know yourself.   What does 'positioning yourself' mean? You might be shocked to hear that about 70% of entrepreneurs experience imposter syndrome, so what we are talking about today will be relevant to you or someone you know. Shauntae explains why, even if you have all the strategies, plans, and tools in place, you cannot grow your business and find your groove when your self-talk is negative and your identity is unsure. The only way for you to step into your purpose and be your best self is to become conscious of the conversations you have with yourself, by breaking free from imposter’s syndrome, and by banishing the lies that you have to do it all by yourself. As you will hear from Shauntae, asking for help and delegating are essential aspects of scaling your business. After discussing the importance of having self-value, Shauntae shares how being conscious and consistent trumps perfection and explains how you can leverage the power of manifestation (and action) to begin seeing the changes you’ve always wanted.     Key Points From This Episode:  An introduction to Shauntae and how she helps “ladypreneurs” create income and impact.   Why becoming your most authentic self is the key to mastering your business.   Shauntae and Chelsea share how your business is a reflection of your failures and successes.   How you can prevent your inner critic from hindering your business growth.  Learn what imposter syndrome is and how it feels when it shows up in your life.   How being clear about your niche market is going to help you become an expert.   We unpack the superwoman “doing it all” syndrome and why we find it hard to ask for help.   The idea of working and serving for a long time before you can come into your power.   Shauntae talks about the time she had no vision and got stuck in people-pleasing.    Why having and understanding your self-value is an essential part of business growth.   A case for why you sometimes need someone else to help you get there.   Age, alignment, and the reward of getting over your concerns about what other people think.   The habits Shauntae has adopted: being conscious and consistent rather than perfectionistic.   Understanding that intangible things like thoughts and feelings ultimately manifest physically.   The necessity of putting actions behind the goals and dreams you wish to manifest.   Links Mentioned in Today’s Episode:  Shauntae Hudson   Shauntae C. Episode 3: From Keds to Adidas with Trivinia Barber
As women, it is so important that we step into our power and realize the kind of change we are capable of creating. However, many of us are held back by self-imposed limiting beliefs. So, how can we get out of our own way and create the life we want? Trivinia Barber, today’s guest, is an outstanding example of what can happen when we are brave enough to dive into our passions and make it happen. In this episode, we talk about Trivinia’s professional journey and how she came to found her multimillion-dollar company, Priority VA, which helps entrepreneurs connect with an executive assistant. Starting from a pain point in her own life coupled with tenacity and grit, Trivinia has been able to soar and go from thrifting Keds to buying each of her kids five pairs of Adidas pants! She does not sugarcoat her journey and talks about the difficulties she has had to overcome and the importance of asking for help. Despite being running a company in the business of outsourcing, Triviania – like most women – felt pressured to do it all. We talk about delegation and how to approach it, the role your tribe plays in pushing you to be your best self, and how Trivinia approaches routine and self-care. Not all ladypreneurs have the same journey, but there are lessons that we can all take away from one another's stories. Tune in today to hear more.    Key Points From This Episode:  Get to know Trivinia, her background, and the impetus for starting her company, Priority VA.  Hear about Trivinia’s childhood and the story about Keds that stands out for her.  Trivinia’s entrepreneurial lightbulb moment and how this has pushed her.  Why Trivinia wishes she knew just how hard being a business owner is.  The shame Trivinia felt when she started reaching milestones in her business.  Trivinia’s relationship with money and how it has changed over the years.  Being a business owner requires you to confront an entire set of fears.  The importance of the people you surround yourself with.   Getting over the need to do everything ourselves, a common pressure for women.  Do not be afraid to ask for the help you need!  How Trivinia uses time blocking and ‘like days’ to stay productive.  Why having a set startup and shutdown routine is so important to Trivinia.  Some of the ways that Trivinia fills her cup to give the best of herself.  We need to move past the idea that self-care is selfish.      Links Mentioned in Today’s Episode:  Priority VA  Trivinia Barber  Trivinia Barber on Instagram  Trivinia Barber on Twitter  Diary of a Doer  The E-Myth Revisited  Profit First  Todd Herman  Brain.fm  Ziva Meditation  Chelsea Williams on Linked In  Core Solutions Group  LP3  LP3 on Instagram

Episode 2: What Are You Avoiding? With Molly McGrath
Our guest today, Molly McGrath, who has been a ladypreneur for ages, and man, what lessons she’s learned! One of them is the importance of building a strong team and surrounding yourself with people who get you and don’t look to you for every answer and solution. In this candid conversation, Molly talks about the need to employ people who know what it means to have your back (and front), the tough things we tend to avoid, and why it is so necessary to pin-point them. Identifying your ‘hiding’ places will help you to improve your weaknesses and overcome the obstacles along the way. Chelsea and Molly get into some of the shifts they are currently undergoing, why being perceived as a b*tch might be something to aim for, the need to shelf your emotions for the sake of your business, and how a breakdown can help you achieve a breakthrough. Our guest talks about her meaningful self-care routines (and she doesn’t mean getting her nails done) and why ladypreneurs and moms need to take me-time just as seriously as they would any other responsibility. Tuning in, listeners will also get words of wisdom about all things discipline, performance, overcoming shame, knowing your worth, and viewing COVID as an opportunity rather than a threat!     Key Points From This Episode:  Molly gives listeners some insight into her business, who it serves, and how it fulfills her.   A challenging aspect of entrepreneurship: people expecting you to have all the answers.   The importance of building a team that understands what it means to have your back.   How Molly managed to align her passion, purpose, and profits in her business.   Molly talks about the stigmas there are about attorneys and why she loves the law industry.   How looking into what you are avoiding reveals the areas where you ‘hide out’ or ‘play small’.   The importance of being disciplined about the things you know you need to perform optimally.   Making decisions based on emotions versus what serves the health of your business.   Why you sometimes have to go through a breakdown before you can get to the breakthrough.   Having the courage to raise your price and ask for what you know you are worth.   Examples of where our limiting beliefs and shame around making money comes from.   Advice for making decisions and taking action when you are overwhelmed and confused.   Why we need to think twice before asking for advice and interpreting feedback.   Breaking free from our tendency to over-apologize and sugar-coat things as women leaders.   Chelsea makes a stellar point about using COVID as an opportunity, not an excuse!   Find out how Molly keeps developing herself and takes care of her mind and body.   Links Mentioned in Today’s Episode:  Molly McGrath on LinkedIn  Hiring & Empowering Solutions   Hiring & Empowering Solutions Podcast   Tony Robbins  Brené Brown   The E-Myth Revisited  Chelsea Williams on LinkedIn  Core Solutions Group  LP3  LP3 on Instagram
