The journey of a creative and the challengesEver wondered what it takes to accomplish your goals as a creative? Neither have I! You can catch all that and more on their YouTube channel by the way. Kay says that the curse of a creative holds everything back. He adds that there is never the perfect time of letting go of something.Just so you know, it’s a turn game, so Aida is asked by Kay what she thinks she lacks when it comes to discipline. Aida mentions self-dependency as one thing and she highlights that if she doesn’t have anything urgent, she tends to prioritise herself. Kay is then poked to have his say and highlights his strict discipline schedule. He adds that he wouldn’t want to neglect himself while doing things for others.Kay is asked about the reaction from his family when they hear his story. He responds by making it clear that he’s been doing it for a while and from his experience, he knows exactly what he wants, but from his family’s perspective, they think he’s mad (You can hear them both laugh about it). Aida then narrates how her family has eased their gears lately on inquiring about what she does.As the episode continues to trickle, Aida pokes Kay to talk about his motivation in doing poetry. He says it started when he was in campus and he eventually realised that it's all about discovering himself.Aida is triggered to discuss what got her into customising trainers where she refers to when she was watching a YouTube video and she got rattled and imagined the prospect of her having her own sort of African spin into stuff. Aida then talks about her brokenness starting when she left the university. She says that’s when the hustle mentality kicked in. Kay adds to it and talks on his journey upon leaving the university.As the episode approaches its conclusion, Kay offers a piece of advice, “if you are in a predicament where you are starting to generate ideas, that you want to execute just do it and see what happens. Regardless of the outcome, you learn.” I'll leave you with that as food for thought. Enough said already, it’s time to tune in!
