Hopefully I will have some clips live on there to share. Definitely one
of my favorite new places for gaming fun.
Podcast covers looter shooters. News and commentary on all things looter
shooter.
Wanted to take a minute and talk about why I love this
genre. I was a big MMO player and
eventually I started having less and less time for those games. Also those games that were more tab targeting
and a little slower pace became faster pace and MMO’s have a weird way about
them where the faster they get the game play isn’t as strong in my option. I think of Black Desert Online and Blessed
online and of course they are fine games, but not really my cup of tea compared
to Warcraft Classic that to be honest I have already done and don’t exactly
have the time for these days.
Recently this translated into my enjoyment of the genre
looter shooter which really is a shooter with a little bit of the MMO stuff I
enjoy sprinkled in. For this cast, I am
really talking about and giving news on shoorters that have elements of
progression, loot systems and other ideas that make them appealing to me. There might be some disagreements on what
qualifies, but I don’t really give into that all that much, I just want to talk
about games that bring that level of single player and co-op gameplay that
itches my nitches and that is what I am planning on doing.
This will be a quick podcast some times, slower others as we
talk about what is new and what is up and coming in the world of looter
shooters and since this is the first time I have solo coasted (all of my other
podcasts have been with other people), your participation in the podcast is
essential to making a great show. So
call in, write in, tweet ect. And we
will discuss what you add to the show each time it comes out.
If you enjoy what you hear simply support the show by
following, participating and listening. If
you have a story, comment or something that you would like to have mentioned on
the show, use the links in the show notes to make it happen.
So lets get to it. I
have 6 great looter shooters to talk about today.
TIME FOR THE NEWS
Borderlands
I bought Borderlands for one of my friends birthdays last
week. I wouldn’t let him play.
I also finally finished the casino heist and I freaking
loved it. That was an amazing ride
According to Borderlands.com
Borderlands
3 hits Steam on March 13, and you can now add Borderlands 3 to your Steam Wishlist in preparation for maximum mayhem. Thanks
to the magic of PC Cross-Play powered by SHiFT, you’ll be able to join forces
with other PC players regardless of whether they purchased the game on Steam or
the Epic Games Store. In addition, we’re happy to announce that Borderlands
3 will also be available for Pre-Load on Steam starting March 10 ahead
of the March 13 Steam release.
Borderlands 3 is bringing you
March Mayhem next month, courtesy of some big
announcements we shared during the Gearbox Main Theater Show at PAX East. On March
13, Borderlands 3 will launch on Steam, complete with PC crossplay with the
Epic Games Store. Then, on March 26, you can dive into Borderlands 3’s second
campaign add-on for a surprisingly dangerous engagement party in Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of
Wainwright & Hammerlock. And
those are just two highlights in the slate of content coming this spring and
beyond! Here’s a breakdown of all the big Borderlands news we shared during the
show, so you can suitably prepare yourself for all the impending mayhem.
Sir Alistair Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs
are finally tying the knot, and they want you to come celebrate their upcoming
nuptials on the ice planet of Xylourgos. Those adventuresome lovebirds have
chosen a venue that’s as exotic as it gets; the frozen wastes of Xylourgos have
thinned out all but the most vicious wildlife, and the eerie town of Cursehaven
where you’ve all agreed to meet is located beneath the colossal carcass of a
fallen monster.
Longtime Borderlands fans will be happy to see
another familiar face when they touch down on Xylourgos. Gaige, the genius
Mechromancer from Borderlands 2’s DLC, has been on the run as a wanted fugitive
for years, accompanied by her loyal robot pal Deathtrap. But, never one to
leave friends in the lurch, she’s graciously taken it upon herself to act as
Wainwright and Hammerlock’s wedding planner.
Getting everything prepped for the upcoming
nuptials seems to be going smoothly—until one of the grooms crosses paths with
a band of occultists who worship the Vault Monster’s corpse. You’ll have to
contend with mutated, tentacled zealots who are unlike anything you’ve
encountered in the Borderlands before, all in an attempt to get the chaotic
celebration back on track. Of course, expect plenty of new loot to chase after
in this campaign, including additional Legendaries, supremely powerful Class
Mods, and fresh cosmetic items like Vault Hunter Heads and Skins, interactive
Room Decorations, and all-new Vehicle Skins.
Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright &
Hammerlock launches on March 26, and is included with the Borderlands 3 Season Pass and Super Deluxe Edition, just like Moxxi’s Heist of The Handsome Jackpo
Destiny 2
I have been playing some destiny 2 but not on my main
playing system ,but streaming to my phone.
I have to say it is playing pretty great. I am using Xbox Streaming and overall it gets
my endorsement. The only comment I have
is shooters are difficult on small screens.
They just are

Division 2 –
My current
jam. I am playing this all the
time. If you are listening you can always
add me as a friend and join in the games that I am playing. And of course that is always an optioin. Love to play some game with you. @boomtaplive
So if you know much about this game, you know that they
are working on endgame big time. They
have a new seasonal endgame process. It
is a 5 target manhunt similar to what you find in other Ubisoft titles (ghost
recon) There is also an EMP sticky bomb
skill which enemies seem to be doing to me but I have not earned it yet. I
experienced a bunch of bugs, but they were not game breaking and they seem to
get better with every patch so I am pretty sure they are working on it.
I really enjoy the new expansion. It looks great, and plays great. I am not able to slide across the hoods of
cars which is weird.
I managed to make it to level 35 this week and am pushing
to make it to raid content at some point before the wave of players comes and
goes. With that said, I had no problem
finding great groups to play for the base game.
In other news, Division 2 is going to hit Stadia this
month.
Remnant from the Ashes
I wanted to mention this
game although news is slow right now. This will be a game that I am planning on
covering for a while anyways. They
released a content road map on the arcgames website that introduced that spring
2020 would be bringing corsus + survival update. News has been slow, but I would expect this
to pick up soon.
If you have not played
this game, you should grab games pass and give it a go. People call it a dark souls like looter
shooter and I can attest it is definitely difficult as a single player
game. Strongly recommend grabbing a
couple friends if you plan on playing this one as communication is a big
key.
WARFRAME – I am back into this game in a big way. It is huge however and could be the only game
that you play.
Remnant: From the Ashes – Another Games Pass game that I
have downloaded and put only a couple hours into. I plan on playing this game much more, but
what I learned quickly is that this isn’t a walk in the park as a solo
player. You need some backup to enjoy
what this game offers.
Anthem – I check in on this game a bit from time to
time. I logged in this week and gave it
a whirl. I played through a new
character to see what improvements had been made. I have lots of hope for this game which is
why I am still going to cover it. Even
if I am not sure how it is all going to work out.
Shadow Warrior 2 – This is a gamespass game. I just downloaded it and started playing it a
bit.
In 2013, you helped us bring antimatter-wielding Nova to
life.
Seven years later, we’re calling upon you again to create
the next Warframe. Submit your Warframe concept by March 19:

Shadow Warrior 2
In my searching for games to cover on this podcast, I came
across a title I had not played. The
game is Shadow Warrior 2 and you can grab it on Xbox Gamespass for PC or
console. It was released several years
ago no, but I have to say really it looks and plays really well. I find myself wanting to go back to this game
often even though I have a ton to play right now. Might be worth checking out if you have never
played it before like myself.
I am going to have more to talk about on this game next week
as I get to spend a bit more time in the game learning about how it plays. As for news:
According to Video Gamer.com The developers of Shadow
Warrior 2 have two new games coming.
Flying Wild Hog, the developer, is saying that one will be a full triple
A game and the other will be an original action game. Outside of that we don’t know much more other
than it sounds like they would like to move some of the games to Switch. I will keep my eye out for that.
Close out the show.
