Episode 2 – Time to Buy Condoms
Podcast #2 Introduction If you are hoarding toilet paper, don’t forget the condoms!  Welcome to the Looter Shooter show I am boom.  Locking adults up with nothing to do for weeks, is the leading cause of children.  So stay safe out there! Welcome to the show.  Before we start I wanted to mention a quick way that as a gamer you can help not only with the Corona Virus, but fight other diseases as well.  Foldingathome.org is a group that uses networked computing power to solve complex protein folding and drug simulation work.  Currently they are working on a wave of projects that simulate potentially druggable protein targets.  This will help understand how coronaviruses interact with human receptors and how they can maybe stop this from happening.  They are also working on cancer projects, alzheimers, huntingtons and parkinsons.  Here is how it works. You download a small app from foldingathome.org.  You go through a quick set up procedure and you will hear your GPU fire up and start working.  You can set how strong you would like it to run.  Right now while I am recording the show my excess GPU cycles are being put to good use.  If you have a computer that sits idle all day, I encourage you to fire that bad boy up and contribute.  If you are not playing the latest looter shooter, put your computer to work after you are done.  It is for a really good cause.  How you can reach out and participate on the show: 702-625-1337 Mixer – Boomtaplive @boomtaplive Twitter Stopstandinginfire.com/boom Xbox Live Handle boomtaplive Clutch.win/boomtaplive We are now live on all the major podcast platforms.  So go have a listen.  I am super thankful for the amount of people that supported the first show.  It felt awesome to launch with such a following.  Big thanks to all of you listeners.  Topic of the Day  Cornoa Virus and the outbreak of Green Poison from the Division Game I was going to talk about this but I am not.  I watched the opening videos for Division 1 and it hit a little too close to home.  I know that the Corona Virus is not the same as small pox ect…  But still, right now the world needs games to be an escape from what is going on.  And also a way to help you cope.  The Lydians used the game of knucklebones which is like dice game to get through 18 years of famine.  One day people would eat, and then next they would play games to take their minds off of the current situation which was out of their control.  The bottom line is much of this Corona Virus scare is out of your control.  What you can control is your exposure to the high risk groups.  So stay home, play some games and help your elderly neighbors get supplies without needing to be exposed to the virus.  What I have been playing. Call of Duty War Zone 50 squads of three, battle royale style, very beautiful map and game.  I posted some clutch videos of me playing you can check those out if you want a good look at how the game is.  I have been hoping in and playing a bunch of Call of Duty War Zone.  They really are on to something that is going to have legs.  Steep and punishing learning curve – I watched some top streamers this week getting owned at the start.  It takes a while to figure it out so stick with it. The gulag is hilarious.  You just punch people until you get into the arena. It doesn’t feel like it belongs in the game though.  I think the game would be better without it.  It just feels out of place to me.  Loot System is great, gameplay is of course wonderful.  It is so much more chaotic than something like Fortnite I think because of the audio.  You hear literally everything that is going on around you. I was with my group and we were on mice (mics are essential to this I think)  and we heard some sort of super gun in the direction we were heading and we all just stopped in our tracks and went a different direction.  Audio is king for this game.  Matches are much more intense.  With Fortnite you have some downtime occasionally, but this game is an attack on your senses the entire match.  You really feel like you are in a warzone. I am sure we will be playing this for years to come.  Activision has a big hit with this one, probably billions of more dollars added to their bottom line. Challenge Play:  Shadow Warrior 2 I really want you all to download this game from the Gamespass and crack into it.  The humor is great, gameplay is tight and it is a heck of a lot of fun.  I am also making my way through the story pretty quickly.  It won’t take many of you long to complete it.  Play it and send in your feedback.  Sword play is epic.  I have a nail gun now.  The main character is like a Chinese Deadpool.  It is super great.  Division 2 I played a bunch of Division 2.  I am down to the second to the final boss.  It was my game of the year for 2019, and this expansion is just as good if not better.  The topic of why I am in a post apocalyptic world is timely, but the game is great.  Destiny 2 Destiny 2 has so many good things going right now.  I think as they have separated from Activision you are seeing the real end goal of this game starting to come through.  It is getting bigger and more grindy (not in a bad way) all the time.  I used to think I could pop in and complete tons of this game quickly, but now it has so many levels to it that really the game is something that you have to make your main game.  You need to play this a little each day to feel like you are immersed in what is going on.  Bungie is really crushing it right now.  It’s the Looter Shooter News The Division 2 Season 1 – Shadow Tide has begun for The Division 2: Warlords of New York! Once you reach Level 40 and complete the New York campaign the Season feature becomes available, revealing new activities, new progression paths, and new rewards for your Agent! This first week also features a Double XP event to give everyone head starts on their SHD Levels and Seasonal Tacks. How many season passes are we going to buy? The first Manhunt Target, Neptune, is out now, with the first League coming on Tuesday, March 17th. Neptune will remain active and available throughout the entire 12-week Season, but you’ll need to take him down before you can go after the Prime Target. The Westside League, however, will only be open for 2 weeks – so make sure you try your hand at those challenges to see if you can earn some of the exclusive rewards! Borderlands 3 Borderlands 3 is now available on Steam and, for a limited time, you can pick it up for a special launch price*. TITANIA PRIME Our next Prime Warframe is our fairy queen herself: Titania! What if I have EA Access or Origin Access?? Destiny 2 Season of the Worthy – Is live.  Looks great.  The new content looks good. I love the hidden bunker concept of the story.  Trials of Osiris is here to stay according to the developers and you are going to be able to get armor that you would not be able to get any other way from PVP.  New guns and a little more emphasis on close range weapons  In the dev talk there were lots of up and close combat scenes. .  You can change your armors elemental infinity  The game has never looked better and from the video that I watched  And it seems that the bungie team is genuinely excited for the game and the state that it is in right now.  On the Horizon Witchfire This is a cool looking new game from The Astronauts which is a studio out of Poland.  I recommend that you go check It out if you have not already heard about it.  The screen shots look brilliant.  Sounds like they are going for the bungie level of shooting.  Sounds like Destiny is a big inspiration as a whole which should be really interesting to play.  Super Natural Witch Hunter – little bit of horror but mostly fantasy.  I don’t know a release date, but I will keep you posted as I find out more.  Sounds like 2020 but I don’t have any confirmation at this time.  Outriders Square Enix is creating the Outriders as another strong entry into the looter shooter space.  It has a scifi theme I have watched some videos of this game and it looks like it will have a deeper story, maybe more like a bioware type of title. Being described as a SciFi western It has a little bit of a division style cover system.  Looks like a hybrid of most of the looter shoorters. This is for sure something that I am keeping an eye on.  It looks amazing and we all should be very excited for it.  Releasing Summer of 2020, so very soon. Closing: Shout out to Koltrane and MattoMcfly for retweeting my show announcement.  You guys rock and I love everything that you guys do.  Thank you for taking a second and doing that for me.  Shout out to Bijaxx who is part of the Dirty Casuals who is always posting great information and news on stuff that keeps me inspired.  I will try and have him on the show soon.  Now that I am live please leave me a review on the podcast sites to help the show out.  I will continue to grow the show and maneuver its course based on the feedback I am receiving so give it a whirl.  Thanks and be well

Episode 1 – The Looter Shooter Show with Boom
Looter Shooter Podcast Episode 1 Welcome Introduction Welcome. I hope you have plenty of toilet paper.  The cornoa viris is coming and it is interesting because Division is one of my all time favorite games and it is a little close to home. How you can reach out and participate on the show: 702-625-1337 Mixer – Boomtaplive @boomtaplive Twitter Stopstandinginfire.com  Page for Looter Shooter with Boom Xbox Live Handle boomtaplive https://clutch.win/boomtaplive  –  Hopefully I will have some clips live on there to share. Definitely one of my favorite new places for gaming fun. Podcast covers looter shooters.  News and commentary on all things looter shooter. Wanted to take a minute and talk about why I love this genre.  I was a big MMO player and eventually I started having less and less time for those games.  Also those games that were more tab targeting and a little slower pace became faster pace and MMO’s have a weird way about them where the faster they get the game play isn’t as strong in my option.  I think of Black Desert Online and Blessed online and of course they are fine games, but not really my cup of tea compared to Warcraft Classic that to be honest I have already done and don’t exactly have the time for these days. Recently this translated into my enjoyment of the genre looter shooter which really is a shooter with a little bit of the MMO stuff I enjoy sprinkled in.  For this cast, I am really talking about and giving news on shoorters that have elements of progression, loot systems and other ideas that make them appealing to me.  There might be some disagreements on what qualifies, but I don’t really give into that all that much, I just want to talk about games that bring that level of single player and co-op gameplay that itches my nitches and that is what I am planning on doing.  This will be a quick podcast some times, slower others as we talk about what is new and what is up and coming in the world of looter shooters and since this is the first time I have solo coasted (all of my other podcasts have been with other people), your participation in the podcast is essential to making a great show.  So call in, write in, tweet ect.  And we will discuss what you add to the show each time it comes out.  If you enjoy what you hear simply support the show by following, participating and listening.  If you have a story, comment or something that you would like to have mentioned on the show, use the links in the show notes to make it happen. So lets get to it.  I have 6 great looter shooters to talk about today. TIME FOR THE NEWS Borderlands I bought Borderlands for one of my friends birthdays last week.  I wouldn’t let him play. I also finally finished the casino heist and I freaking loved it.  That was an amazing ride According to Borderlands.com Borderlands 3 hits Steam on March 13, and you can now add Borderlands 3 to your Steam Wishlist in preparation for maximum mayhem. Thanks to the magic of PC Cross-Play powered by SHiFT, you’ll be able to join forces with other PC players regardless of whether they purchased the game on Steam or the Epic Games Store. In addition, we’re happy to announce that Borderlands 3 will also be available for Pre-Load on Steam starting March 10 ahead of the March 13 Steam release. Borderlands 3 is bringing you March Mayhem next month, courtesy of some big announcements we shared during the Gearbox Main Theater Show at PAX East. On March 13, Borderlands 3 will launch on Steam, complete with PC crossplay with the Epic Games Store. Then, on March 26, you can dive into Borderlands 3’s second campaign add-on for a surprisingly dangerous engagement party in Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock. And those are just two highlights in the slate of content coming this spring and beyond! Here’s a breakdown of all the big Borderlands news we shared during the show, so you can suitably prepare yourself for all the impending mayhem. Sir Alistair Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs are finally tying the knot, and they want you to come celebrate their upcoming nuptials on the ice planet of Xylourgos. Those adventuresome lovebirds have chosen a venue that’s as exotic as it gets; the frozen wastes of Xylourgos have thinned out all but the most vicious wildlife, and the eerie town of Cursehaven where you’ve all agreed to meet is located beneath the colossal carcass of a fallen monster. Longtime Borderlands fans will be happy to see another familiar face when they touch down on Xylourgos. Gaige, the genius Mechromancer from Borderlands 2’s DLC, has been on the run as a wanted fugitive for years, accompanied by her loyal robot pal Deathtrap. But, never one to leave friends in the lurch, she’s graciously taken it upon herself to act as Wainwright and Hammerlock’s wedding planner. Getting everything prepped for the upcoming nuptials seems to be going smoothly—until one of the grooms crosses paths with a band of occultists who worship the Vault Monster’s corpse. You’ll have to contend with mutated, tentacled zealots who are unlike anything you’ve encountered in the Borderlands before, all in an attempt to get the chaotic celebration back on track. Of course, expect plenty of new loot to chase after in this campaign, including additional Legendaries, supremely powerful Class Mods, and fresh cosmetic items like Vault Hunter Heads and Skins, interactive Room Decorations, and all-new Vehicle Skins. Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock launches on March 26, and is included with the Borderlands 3 Season Pass and Super Deluxe Edition, just like Moxxi’s Heist of The Handsome Jackpo Destiny 2 I have been playing some destiny 2 but not on my main playing system ,but streaming to my phone.  I have to say it is playing pretty great.  I am using Xbox Streaming and overall it gets my endorsement.  The only comment I have is shooters are difficult on small screens.  They just are 3/5 News from Bungies Website This Week at Bungie, we prepare for the worthy. We’re just five short sleeps from Season of the Worthy. Last week, you completed the Empyrean Foundation event, lighting a beacon for Guardians to follow back to the Lighthouse and Trials of Osiris. On Tuesday, we unveiled Season of the Worthy all up. If you haven’t seen the trailer, there is a new threat for you to confront. March 10th Season of Wrothy is coming out.   According to MMORPG here are some details.  Season of the Worthy will be the 10th season to hit Destiny 2 on March 10 at 10a PT. Season of the Worthy is an invitation for new and faithful players to see how the Destiny story continues to unfold in its emblematic universe and to discover new activities. With the Sundial freed from the clutches of the Red Legion, one escaped Psion Flayer enacts a desperate ploy for revenge against the Last City. Guardians of the Light must set aside old differences to band together with unlikely allies and save the City from total destruction. Key features to hit Season of the Worthy include: Trials of Osiris PvP mode returnsNew Exotic weapons and armorNew Season Pass and rewardsGuardian Games free Seasonal EventContinue the Destiny story: battle alongside Rasputin to save the Last City! All new Seasonal Artifact: New mods and new combat enhancements. Division 2  –  My current jam.  I am playing this all the time.  If you are listening you can always add me as a friend and join in the games that I am playing.  And of course that is always an optioin.  Love to play some game with you.  @boomtaplive So if you know much about this game, you know that they are working on endgame big time.  They have a new seasonal endgame process.  It is a 5 target manhunt similar to what you find in other Ubisoft titles (ghost recon)  There is also an EMP sticky bomb skill which enemies seem to be doing to me but I have not earned it yet.   I experienced a bunch of bugs, but they were not game breaking and they seem to get better with every patch so I am pretty sure they are working on it.  I really enjoy the new expansion.  It looks great, and plays great.  I am not able to slide across the hoods of cars which is weird.  I managed to make it to level 35 this week and am pushing to make it to raid content at some point before the wave of players comes and goes.  With that said, I had no problem finding great groups to play for the base game. In other news, Division 2 is going to hit Stadia this month.  Remnant from the Ashes I wanted to mention this game although news is slow right now.  This will be a game that I am planning on covering for a while anyways.  They released a content road map on the arcgames website that introduced that spring 2020 would be bringing corsus + survival update.  News has been slow, but I would expect this to pick up soon. If you have not played this game, you should grab games pass and give it a go.  People call it a dark souls like looter shooter and I can attest it is definitely difficult as a single player game.  Strongly recommend grabbing a couple friends if you plan on playing this one as communication is a big key.     WARFRAME  – I am back into this game in a big way.  It is huge however and could be the only game that you play.  Remnant: From the Ashes – Another Games Pass game that I have downloaded and put only a couple hours into.  I plan on playing this game much more, but what I learned quickly is that this isn’t a walk in the park as a solo player.  You need some backup to enjoy what this game offers. Anthem – I check in on this game a bit from time to time.  I logged in this week and gave it a whirl.  I played through a new character to see what improvements had been made.  I have lots of hope for this game which is why I am still going to cover it.  Even if I am not sure how it is all going to work out.  Shadow Warrior 2 – This is a gamespass game.  I just downloaded it and started playing it a bit.  In 2013, you helped us bring antimatter-wielding Nova to life. Seven years later, we’re calling upon you again to create the next Warframe. Submit your Warframe concept by March 19: https://t.co/ylo5OvCL7l https://t.co/VqkujASxWt Shadow Warrior 2 In my searching for games to cover on this podcast, I came across a title I had not played.  The game is Shadow Warrior 2 and you can grab it on Xbox Gamespass for PC or console.  It was released several years ago no, but I have to say really it looks and plays really well.  I find myself wanting to go back to this game often even though I have a ton to play right now.  Might be worth checking out if you have never played it before like myself.  I am going to have more to talk about on this game next week as I get to spend a bit more time in the game learning about how it plays.  As for news: According to Video Gamer.com The developers of Shadow Warrior 2 have two new games coming.  Flying Wild Hog, the developer, is saying that one will be a full triple A game and the other will be an original action game.  Outside of that we don’t know much more other than it sounds like they would like to move some of the games to Switch.  I will keep my eye out for that. Close out the show.
