Like it or Loath it, The PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) score is currently the main blood marker test used as in indicator of the presence of PC. A simple blood test performed by your doctor or surgery nurse. The score can be indicative of a deeper malaise, but also has it's doubters as it can often be misleading, right now it's all we have. So if your 45 to 50 years old, especially if you are Afro Caribbean or if you have family history of PC, go and get it checked! Like all cancers, catching it early will help more to achieving long term remission than anything else 

Well here we go, this is my humble introduction to what will become a series of podcasts detailing living with PC, from the first elevated PSA all the way through to an imminent starting of a new drug trial.As I am starting this on a whim and a prayer, the recording is made on my phone, so apologies for poor sound quality. I am going to beg, steal or borrow a decent microphone for future episodes. I'll also look into downloading some studio software, so I can create a cringe worthy jingle!
