Legendary Leadership: An Interview
A few years ago, I had the honor of being interviewed by my guy Aaron Baptiste. He was doing a project for class on Leadership and he thought of me to be interviewed. So when I say honor, I definitely mean that. To me, it's very humbling when someone comes and makes a request about a subject like leadership. It says so much about how they feel about you. So Aaron, if you happen to listen to this, thank you so much for thinking of me when this came across your plate. Hope you enjoy my point of view on this. Let me know what you think.

Day In The Life Season 2 | Episode 4 #LiveLegendary
Unfinished but needed to go up. Started off with another beautiful morning with Carter and got a chance to jump into a discussion where a good friend of mine was talking about Courage. Listen in. I hope it adds value!

Day In The Life S2 | Ep 3 #LiveLegendary
It’s a Monday morning after a Food For Thought Produce Pick Up, which means we have a lot of compost to make. I got to get out there with the team, chat with Ms. Raynice, heard about her daughter Hailey getting ready for college and offered some advice and help. Got to also chat with the team about some funny stuff and then a conversation about how many chuggas you say before choo choo! Lol that was funny. All in all, another #Legendary day! Listen in and enjoy! ✊🏾

Day In The Life S2 | Ep 2 #LiveLegendary
Today was all about self care + family. On the weekends Nicole and I do our best to just spend our time with the girls and enjoy some type of outing. That included going to hear Nicole speak at the Food Leaders Lab Culmination, going on a walk to the store with the girls, and even a quick trip to Wholefoods. Never takes much! 😆🥰 Take time to enjoy the tunes. Thank you for listening in and by the way, #LiveLegendary! (P.s. I work hard curating the music I add to the podcast episodes. I really want you to hear it! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 To hear some great music added to the podcast, listen here on Anchor! The music doesn’t play on any of the other platforms. You not a member yet? Come on and get on board ASAP!! 😂)

Also some really awesome music from various new musical artists. So glad to be back. Listen and if you are so inclined feel free to share! #LiveLegendary

#CarterTalks: A Long Walk With Daddy
Here's the first episode of a new segment I'd like to call #CarterTalks.😍 I'm always asking my daughter Carter questions, mainly because it's so amazing to me how she processes ideas. Her creativity is so fascinating to me. As she is growing up, her voice is changing, her thoughts are more sharp and pointed and I just want to capture it all. In this episode, we were walking home and just having a random conversation about so many things. At 4 years old, not only is she cute but she's sooooo funny to me. lol Listen in and feel free to comment to let me know what you think. #LiveLegendary

Black Mental Health w/ Paul Terry & David Turner
On this episode of #LiveLegendary podcast I had the opportunity to be a guest on the #ChangingTheNarrative podcast segment led by Paul Terry talking about Mental Health in communities of color, particularly the black community. "Changing the Narrative" is a collaboration of Connectopod and SJLI funded by a grant from The California Arts Council. #ArtsCA It's not often that I get to share a platform with my man David Turner, one of the most brilliant minds today when it comes to the issues in the black community. When I’m in spaces with this guy, I'm learning more about myself and connect more dots about things I know. Of course, I was so focused that I didn't capture it from the beginning, but I did get a good amount of it, enough of it to share with my friends and family out there listening in. (My bad! 🤦🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️) Please listen in & share. Also, search for the Connectopod's podcast & check for the "Changing the Narrative" segment. There's a surprise from Avery on there too!

Yooo!!!! Did You See... ? [Episode 06 - Seven Seconds]
So I hit up Leda Kay to see if she saw Netflix's "Seven Seconds", a single season 12 episode drama, probably one of the best I've seen on Netflix. This show tells a really dense story about the black experience with the law enforcement and judicial systems, how justice is never received even if law enforcement is in the wrong. The story, plot and character development was really dope and all too real. Leda and I did our best to capture it all in one episode but honestly I'm sure we didn't do the show its full justice. Tell you what, listen in, then call in and give us your two cents on what we captured, what you think we missed and I'm going to pick the best commentary to be on the next episode about this show that we will do that will pick up all the pieces we missed. Looking forward to hearing from you! 😉👌🏾

Yooo!!!! Did You See... ? [Episode 05 - Dear White People]
So Netflix finally gave us season 2 of "Dear White People" and I couldn't wait to watch it. In fact, we finished the entire season in two evenings. Lol But Leda and Mike took FOREVER! Lol Nonetheless, since we both watched it as a couple, we figured this episode we'd feature Mike and Nicole as guests. We got the chance to talk a lot about the themes of the season as well as the characters. We even got a little deep about white friends and our feelings about hoteps! 😂😂 There's a little bit of explicit language in this episode. Just a heads up. Id love to hear what you think! So call in, leave comments, be a part of the discussion! Mad love! ✊🏾👊🏾

#BetterAngels: A Political Bipartisan Workshop
So I had the opportunity to participate in a bipartisan workshop called Better Angels, that had the goal of bringing reds and blues together to try and find common ground. I have to be honest, I didn’t know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised. This episode is HELLA LONG but I thought it was really important for my friends on both sides of the aisle to hear how we got to a point to understanding each other. If you happen to listen through it all or even some of it, let me know what you think. What questions come to mind? Did you hear something that made you anxious and frustrated? Let’s talk about it!

Yooo!!!! Did You See... ? [Episode 04 - The Rachel Divide]
So Leda Kay hit me up and asked if I saw Netflix’s the Rachel Divide, the documentary about Rachel Dolezal, the white woman who believes she “identifies” as a black woman. The documentary picks up 2 years after the whole thing became national news. I didn’t see it but we had a special guest on, My beautiful wife Nicole who actually did see the documentary. Listen in as we dive in to the documentary and even some other social issues that it brings up.

Yooo!!!! Did You See... ? [Episode 03 - Scandal S7Ep18 Fin]
On this episode we talked about the magnificent 7 year run of “Scandal” that came to an end this past Thursday. Leda and I finally both saw it and it was time to talk about it. We couldn’t talk about the end of this era without my mom, who’s been the most faithful, never missing a Shondaland TGIT! So yea, introducing Mama Steele to the Podcast! Listen in and feel free to call in, we’d love to get your vibes too! 🙌🏾

Yooo!!!! Did You See... ? [Episode 01 - Review of Scandal S7Ep17]
“Yooo!!!! Did You See... ?” is a new podcast segment where my sister Leda Kay and I review different television episodes and movies that we both saw recently. There’s this idea out there that if you’re trying to build a business or level up in life, that watching television and movies are a waste of time. Here’s a fun fact... entrepreneurs watch TV too. 😂😂 Sometimes we just need to just veg out. This is just us giving our two cents on the entertainment we love. This episode we talk about Shondaland’s Scandal, S7Ep17, the next to last episode of the show. Leda digs into the crates and connects the dots with some of the older happenings of the show. Listen in, laugh with us and feel free to call in with your thoughts. Let us know what we might have missed! 🙌🏾 #LiveLegendary

A Good Word From Congressman John Lewis ✊🏾
Had the chance this evening to attend Liberty Hill's Upton Sinclair Awards Dinner. It was amazing event, lots of prople there. It was really dope to hear from the folks doing the work on the ground, organizing, empowering people. The highlight of the evening though was hearing the speech and call to action from the Upton Sinclair Awardee, Congressman John Lewis. I was able to capture a part of what he said and how he encouraged us to "get in the way." Take a listen in. It's my hope for you to be moved and become a change agent in your community like I was. To know the history and story is one thing. Its whole other experience hearing it in person.✊🏾

Keynote on Health Equity @ UCLA Harbor Medical
In my role as the Health Equity Programs Director at SJLI, I’ve had the privilege to speak in front of different groups of people to talk about the work we do in the community. This is the first time getting the chance to talk about health equity at a hospital and my audience was a a group of about 30 doctors. I was able to capture to talk to share with you. It went really well. My goal was to leave an impression on them and based on the response afterwards I think I achieved that goal. Let me know what you think. Thanks for listening.

Yooo!!!! Did You See... ? [Episode 02-Beyonce Coachella '18]
“Yooo!!!! Did You See... ?” is a new podcast segment where Leda and I review different television episodes and movies that we both saw recently. This episode we talk about one of the blackest, dope, #ForTheCulture, concert experience to date, Beyoncè’s Coachella 2018 performance. I mean it’s almost hard to put into words how awesome this performance was, but Leda and I do our best to talk through all the black excellence we saw. Listen in, laugh with us and feel free to call in with your thoughts. Let us know what we might have missed! 🙌🏾 #LiveLegendary
