Those who hope probably have experienced a strong sense of hopelessness. That’s why hope is so important to me. I know what it’s like to feel hopeless.

One of the favorite verses in the bible is Jeremiah 29:11 which boldly declares to us, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future.”

One the ways that helps me to live hope, is to look at life like a journey. It means that, in addition to all the ups and downs that life’s journey includes…it also implies that this point where you are at right now on your journey is not the end.

When feelings of hopelessness creep in, sometimes I have to step back and ask myself if I’m actually just bored.

I’ve spent some time doing prison ministry at a facility that has a dog training program for some of the inmates. My friend Bryan says it means so much to help him get through the boring long days and nights.

I wish we could always say what we mean, and mean what we say. Instead, we often have to try and figure out what people are really saying.

I’ve decided that even when I can’t see hope, perhaps I can BE the hope my friend is looking for.

With show business, as with much of life, there doesn’t seem to be any justice to who makes it or not. So many amazing talents have gone unnoticed.

Does your secure future allow you to be more fully present today? Could we create heaven here on earth?

I heard someone say, “Live so you never feel a need to go on vacation.” Is that possible?

Have you ever heard someone say, “I’m ready for something new?” I know I have. Most times we say that when we’re tired of being in the place where we’re at. New and shiny always looks better than old and rusty.

My choices today will affect me reaching my bigger goals or not. And whatever challenges arise, hope keeps me focused on the long-term goal, not the present difficulties.

In the face of insurmountable odds, she chose to find life in her art, and then shared that art with others so they also might find inspiration.

Love is more powerful than hate. Love is more powerful than fear. If we want to see real change in our world, and in our lives, we need to choose love.

Sports are great mostly because you never know who’s going to win. You might have an idea how the game is going to turn out, but we’ve seen it enough, where it doesn’t go as planned.

I’m curious how you might be letting fear hold you back? Hope is firmly rooted in faith that God is in control and writing a bigger story with our lives than we could ever see.

Hope says God is loving me and turning me into his child, making me holy and perfect.

Worry is what causes my mind to race, my stomach to get into knots, and my soul to start giving into fear.

It’s like I’m asking myself…ok, you say you believe this, but when the rubber meets the road, what are you really going to believe?

Have you ever met someone who is impatient? They keep looking at their watch, trying to see if there’s a bus coming in the distance through the oncoming traffic, wondering out loud, where is that bus!? I’ve been that person.
