26 - The Call pt1
Ten years ago, our hometown of Orlando, FL was a bedrock of contagious Christianity. Young people all over the city were experiencing God with a love that felt like it could spill out and bless the whole world. Churches were growing, and one church in particular had a vision not unlike that of Walt Disney himself. The call of God inspired the founders of Summit Church to see an entire city transformed, and they had the momentum and the power of God moving among them in a way where nothing seemed impossible... Today, however, Orlando has become a Christian ghost town among local Millennials, a city of Lost Magic. Join us as we explore the most obvious question, "What happened here?" Welcome to Fantasyland.

25 - Where is Uncle Remus?
Walt Disney made an academy award winning film that they worked hard to pull from the shelves. Only rare copies of VHS are left, and they have intentionally never released it on DVD... Do you know what that film is? There's even a ride in the Magic Kingdom based on the film. This episode is an exploration of the things we hide. Companies hide, institutions hide, churches and pastors hide, and even we hide. What is the impact of hiding? www.livealivepodcast.com

We pick our story back up in Frontierland, to explore the makings of a Magic Kingdom. ——————— Ted Talk about Beauty: https://www.ted.com/talks/richard_seymour_how_beauty_feels https://www.livealivepodcast.com Recorded at Central Florida Studios Executive Producers Ed Holtz and Steve Douglass

Connecting with people who are different than us can be awkward. A few weeks ago on the show Mia challenged us to get lunch with someone who is super different than us. Mia joins us on the show again as we talk about what happened when we stepped out of our comfort zone to engage people who believe, act, and see the world differently than us. It was an interesting experiment for sure and it taught us more about how to enter the world of others the way Jesus did.

09 - Hearing Gods Voice pt 2
How does God use us to speak blessings into the lives of other people? Learn how to hear God's voice on behalf of other people as we join Chad on campus at UCF. We draw on Chad's experience of being intentional in conversations to learn how we can bless the people around us during the day. What are the right things to say? What questions should I ask to show that God cares for people? If Evangelism is bringing good news to people and God wants us to use us to speak His message, then let's learn together how to share specific blessings into the lives of others. This can be summed up like this: God wants us to learn how to listen to Him, allow Him to connect with us, and then to help us. Listen Connect, and Help

08 - The Lost Art of Hearing God's Voice (special guest Chad Johnson)
If you’ve ever struggled to hear from God, or if you aren’t sure that God really talks with us, we created this discussion with you in mind. A lot of times Christians can go through seasons where we don’t really know how to differentiate from God’s voice and the other voices around us. Was that God’s voice I just heard, or was it just my imagination? Jesus says, “My sheep know my voice.” and this means that we have it on good authority that God is actually communicating with us in a way that we can hear Him. This is good news! In this episode, we learn more about how the Holy Spirit is the One who to help us hear from God. This is the first of a two part series with our friend Chad Johnson, who shares with us from a robust experience of daily interaction with the Holy Spirit. We learn about how God is a communicating God, and that He is communicating with us. Chad Johnson was the A&R man for Tooth and Nail and discovered many popular bands such as Underoath, Copeland, and Anberlin, and Chad is the founder of Come&Live! In this Episode, Chad shares how to actually hear the voice of God in our everyday lives. We discuss a lot of our experiences together. Come&Live! is an organization that provokes and inspires artists to proclaim the revolutionary message of Jesus. Chad Johnson’s new book: One Thousand Risks https://www.amazon.com/One-Thousand-R...
