Birdgirl, Community, & Duck Tales with Paget Brewster
Paget Brewster joins me in this episode, and I couldn't be happier. Not only do we speak about her return as the titular character in Birdgirl after playing the same role back in Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, but we also dive into my absolute FAVORITE series, Community, and even touch on Duck Tales. We talk about how she utilizes her voice for the characters of Birdgirl and Judy, how it was just like riding a bike, and why she thinks you should never binge-watch a show you're in. Now the show is on Season 2, Birdgirl is soaring on Adult Swim, and that is largely due to Paget's excellent performance. We discuss her work with Danny Pudi on both Community and Duck Tales since they've worked on multiple projects. Asking what universe she'd like to see Birdgirl and Judy travel to that Paget has also acted in, we were united in choosing Community. This is one of my favorite episodes I've done in a long time, and I really think you will all enjoy it. Be sure to check out Community, Duck Tales, and especially Birdgirl, the latter of which can be seen on Adult Swim. Exiled and Wesley Snipes with Writer, Director, Creator, and Producer Adam Lawson
Adam Lawson is back for his third - or fourth, I have a terrible memory - guest appearance on Inner Child Podcast! Previously we spoke with Adam about his work on directing Escape the Night, his comic publishing company Gifted Rebels, and his music video work, including Snakes On A Plane's Bring It and other Fueled By Ramen-backed bands and songs. The multi-talented Adam has his hands in everything from games to movies to music videos - but recently, he has also turned his attention to comic books and graphic novels, going so far as to create his own publishing company, Gifted Rebels. Under his label, he has released the titles The Eighth, The Kill Journal, and Kids and Monsters, but his newest graphic novel may be his most ambitious yet as it is being released with Wesley Snipes, the actor who played the infamous vampire in the Blade trilogy. The Exiled is the new collaboration between Wesley Snipes and Adam, so we clearly had plenty of questions to ask about what to expect from the upcoming project and what it was like working with Snipes. The other goodies you'll have to listen to the episode for or check out on the Literary Joe youtube channel. Don't forget you can also see the transcripts and read more about these projects over on ComicBookMovie.com. Enjoy! :)
