In Liquid Church’s 2021 Christmas Eve experience, Pastor Tim Lucas shares an inspiring Christmas message about the wondrous moment when God entered our world. Jesus The Suffering Servant | The Gift Part 3
At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus over 2,000 years ago. This momentous occasion was announced by angels, attended by shepherds, and acknowledged by 3 Wise Men who honored Jesus with gifts. In this message from Liquid Church’s Christmas series, The Gift, Pastor Kayra Montanez reflects on the symbolic meaning of the third gift of the Wise Men: Myrrh for Jesus, the suffering servant. Back in Jesus’ day, Myrrh was commonly used as an embalming fluid, which is something that was used to treat dead bodies. This is obviously a strange gift to give to a baby - so what is the significance? The truth is, the gift of myrrh foretold that Jesus would be a suffering servant, a baby born with the destiny to die for the sins of the world. This holiday season, whatever troubles or hardships you face, Jesus can relate. We pray that you’ll be drawn to surrender your spirit to Jesus in worship for our suffering servant and savior. Jesus Our High Priest | The Gift Part 2
At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus over 2,000 years ago. This momentous occasion was announced by angels, attended by shepherds, and acknowledged by 3 Wise Men who honored Jesus with gifts. In this message from Liquid Church’s Christmas series, The Gift, Pastor Tim Lucas reflects on the symbolic meaning of frankincense, which is one of the three gifts of the wisemen brought to Jesus knowing he would be the great High Priest. Why bring a baby frankincense? This gift was actually used in the Old Testament days of the Bible to create fragrant incense. Priests would burn frankincense as an offering to God during the Old Testament days of the Bible. The sweet-smelling smoke would rise like it was rising up to Heaven, symbolizing the prayers of God's people rising up to God’s throne. It’s a beautiful image that paints a prophetic picture of who Jesus would be: Our great High Priest who intercedes for His people before God the Father. With Jesus as our High Priest, we can now approach the throne of God as holy and blameless, pure in God our Father’s sight. This holiday season, you may feel unworthy, weak or far from God. However, we pray that you’ll be drawn to worship Jesus, your High Priest, and boldly approach the throne of God because of the great joy of knowing what He did for you. How To Resolve Conflict | Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Part 7

How To Develop Rhythms Of Rest | Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Part 6
Do you find yourself burning the candle at both ends? In an American culture of workaholism and passionate drive for success, developing a rhythm of rest is more important than ever. With burnout on the rise, people are coming out of 2020 and going through 2021 feeling overworked, overstressed, and overscheduled. In this message from Liquid Church’s Emotionally Healthy Spirituality series, Pastor Kayra Montanez shares the importance of a Biblical Sabbath, which is God’s plan for His children to develop rhythms of rest. Pastor Kayra defines a true, Biblical Sabbath as a 24 hour block of time when you stop both paid and unpaid work to rest, delight in God and contemplate His love for you. The truth is, it’s hard to intentionally develop these rhythms of rest when you feel like you’re constantly just trying to keep up. So, start by designating a day of the week and setting clear boundaries around your Sabbath. Then, make a list of what energizes your soul and do more of that! Stop striving and worship with a heart of gratitude. As you develop rhythms of rest, we pray that you’ll be encouraged to know that even when you get nothing productive done in a day, you are utterly adored by the God of the Universe! Dealing With Grief As A Christian | Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Part 5
When we think of grief and loss, we usually imagine the emotions we feel when someone we love dies. But the reality is, there is loss in every stage of life. What is Jesus teaching you as you deal with grief as a Christian? Think about it: You may have lost dreams or influence over your kids. There’s also catastrophic feelings of loss when someone we love dies or a relationship ends. The truth is, grief and loss seem to come out of nowhere and interrupt our everyday lives. But the good news is, as Christians we can look to the example of Jesus to learn how to deal with grief and loss in a spiritually healthy way. In this message from Liquid Church’s Emotionally Healthy Spirituality series, Pastor Kayra Montanez examines Jesus’ grief in the Garden of Gethsemane in Matthew 26 of the New Testament. Here, we see Jesus didn’t bury the pain of knowing what He would go through on the Cross. He brought his pain and feelings of loss to God the Father, surrounded himself with people to support Him and prayerfully processed his pain with God. As you learn how to develop an Emotionally Healthy Spirituality in your life and relationships, we pray the Holy Spirit will spark a spiritual revolution of healing in your life and home. What To Do When You Hit A Wall In Your Faith | Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Part 4
At some point, every Christian hits a wall in their journey with Jesus-- a crisis that’s beyond your control. But in His mercy, God can use that wall or situation to transform your character to be more like Christ! In this message from Liquid Church’s Emotionally Healthy Spirituality series, Pastor Tim Lucas shares what to do when you hit a wall in your faith. Maybe your “wall” is a difficult divorce, the loss of a child, or a longing unfulfilled. Or maybe your spiritual wall is anxiety, depression, or a season where it just feels like God isn’t speaking. When crises and tragedies strike, our instincts sometimes are to go around the tough stuff. But Jesus leaves an open invitation to take his hand and journey through the wall and discover a closer, deeper, and more mature walk with Him. As you learn how to develop an Emotionally Healthy Spirituality in your life and relationships, we pray the Holy Spirit will spark a spiritual revolution of healing in your life and home. How Family Dynamics Impact You | Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Part 3
Did you know? God’s choice to birth you into the family you grew up in has a huge influence on your life as a follower of Jesus. However, most Christians aren’t really aware of the ways their family dynamics impact them today. Think about it: Are you really aware of how your family dynamics impact you? In this message from Liquid Church’s Emotionally Healthy Spirituality series, Pastor Tim Lucas shares an example filled with hope from the life of Joseph in the book of Genesis. Joseph experienced three major traumas in his life that impacted him deeply. However, Joseph drew near to God and was empowered by God’ grace to put old patterns in the past and live a life set free to be who God created him to be. The truth is, there is no such thing as a perfect family - and Joseph’s family was anything but perfect! Whether you grew up in a positive family environment or not, we all have patterns and characteristics taught by our families of origin that we don’t want the next generation to repeat. We can show our families grace in light of the pains we face because Jesus showed us grace, too. You don’t have to repeat the patterns of generational dysfunctions you may have experienced. As you learn how to develop an Emotionally Healthy Spirituality in your life and relationships, we pray the Holy Spirit will spark a spiritual revolution of healing in your life and home.

Know Yourself To Know God| Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Part 2
In this message from Liquid Church’s Emotionally Healthy Spirituality series, Pastor Tim Lucas shares 3 obstacles King David overcame, and that we too can overcome, to know ourselves and know God better. The reality is, many Christians fail to examine their interior thoughts, motives and fears. But, when you invite God into your inner life, you invite His Holy Spirit to speak to the depths of your soul. You need to know yourself - and who you were created by God to be - so that you may truly know God. When you take time to listen to God through prayer, silence, and reading the Scriptures, you develop a better sense of your identity as God’s beloved child. In this message, we look to the example of King David in 1 Samuel 17. David cut through obstacles of criticism from family, expectations from authority, and intimidation from his enemies, all so he could step into his God-given destiny. Along the way, David lived out a first-hand relationship with God, listening to God and using his unique, God-given gifts to defeat the giants in his life. As you learn how to develop an Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, we pray the Holy Spirit will spark a spiritual revolution in your life! The Problem of Emotionally Unhealthy Spirituality | EHS Part 1
In this message from Liquid Church’s Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, Pastor Tim Lucas leads us to examine why emotionally unhealthy spirituality is a problem in our relationships with God and each other. Get ready: We’re taking a deep dive with Jesus under the iceberg of our lives to listen for the Holy Spirit speaking in the depths! You see, we're all made up of layers that exist beneath the surface of our lives - kind of like how 90% of an iceberg is hidden underwater. Below the surface lies our hidden motives, fears, jealousies, sadness and anger. This is the side that usually comes out in times of stress or pressure. However, instead of living emotionally unhealthy lives, Jesus wants access to us in this area of our lives so he can transform our inner world! This message takes a closer look at 1 Samuel 15 in the Old Testament of the Bible to identify symptoms of emotionally unhealthy spirituality in King Saul’s life. As you learn and take a closer look at your own life beneath the iceberg, don’t lose hope. Instead, invite God under the iceberg of your life to speak into the depths of your soul. As you do this, we pray the Holy Spirit will spark a spiritual revolution in your life.
