Pushing Beyond Your Capacity
In this episode we walk through what reaching our personal capacity looks like. We're learning, along with you, how to tackle the stress and overwhelm that comes with having so much on your plate, and we even have a fantastic affirmation too.
Kristine DeMarco's quote: "When you hit your limitations, and cry out instead of quit, you tap into who you were destined to be: the person that no one else can be."
Bethany's quote: "The more that you tap into this place of strength, the more you know where to draw strength from when facing obstacles in the future."
Courtney's Quote: "Do the best with what you've got, and if what you've got isn't a lot, it's still enough. You will always have enough."
Advice when you're overwhelmed:
Courtney's:
Acknowledge you're grateful - Pause and bring awareness to your feelings. Take control of your emotions before they take control of you
Choose not to accept your negative state of mind - You can choose to find joy
Find something to be grateful for, if not many things. You can always find something to be grateful for
Just get to work. Start. Just do it (Nike). Small steps make a big difference
Do the best with what you've got...
Bethany's
Know that God wants to give us more than we think we can contain
When you think you've given it your all, give a little more - Not in a striving way, draw from the strength deep within yourself
Tackle something head on - Don't procrastinate. The longer you wait, the more overwhelming that task looks.
Believe in yourself - Believe that you have inside of you what it takes to accomplish this thing that's in front of you
Affirmation!
You are more than you think you are. In your very DNA, God has built inside of you the ability to handle situations that are impossible. Draw from the strength. You've made it this far in this hard and scary world, and that is a miracle in itself. So keep going. Your story isn't over yet and there is more God wants to do. It may take time, but one day you will see the fruit of that stretching.
So here's the question - What's causing you to feel like you're reaching your capacity? And is it possible that you have a little bit more to give, if you'd just believe in yourself?
