Breakthrough Artists... Condition For Creativity
Being able to pull forth a stroke of genius is more of a learned skill than you might think. This session is from my program, “Breakthrough Artists - Building an Individual Roadmap to Your Best Ideas” where I take participants through four key steps that set you up for your biggest breakthroughs. My approach goes beyond creative exercises alone, addressing all the components that make your mind tick. By the end of the experience you’ll have the tools and the roadmap that fits your mind, your style, and your voice. Priming and conditioning help the mind to pull forth ideas easily, which is precisely the state from which you want to work. As the program introduces new ways to think about how you approach the idea process, this session discuss how we ease the mind to a place where it can develop ideas comfortably.

Life Unlocked - Audio Episode 1 - Project Purpose
Artists and creatives really are a special tribe: we get to work with our inspiration, style, and curiosity and turn it into something the world can enjoy. It doesn't matter what type of creative you are; even when the medium is different, the process of translating ideas into form comes from the same place. There's a sense of euphoria and fulfillment when you're doing work that inspires you. But so few of us get to feel this, especially when we use our gifts in the professional realm. No one can tell you how to make your art—your style is your own. But when you begin to ask yourself the right questions, your work begins to shift. That's when you truly push your creative edge. The best way to reconsider your practice is to see examples of another artist’s journey. Which is why I share the topics, questions, and themes that have helped me evolve my style and voice through 'Life, Unlocked', an ongoing self-documentary of my own studio practice. Broken into short, theme-based narratives in video, audio, or written article, fellow artists and creatives come into my studio for an immersive, gritty, earnest journey toward the heart of their own creative potential. As a multimedia artist, my range offers a unique angle: while I have many years of experience in painting, illustration, and storytelling, I am now beginning to work with music and short film. This brings a perspective rooted in the depth of experience, yet fresh with the excitement of a newbie. The podcast shares the audio version of the ‘Life, Unlocked’. Here I share “Creativity Thought-Starters," key topics to consider in your own practice. I hope these ideas help you drop deeper within your own creative practice. If so, I hope you’ll subscribe. ‘Life, Unlocked’ is an ongoing series that includes videos and articles, so don’t forget to check out the related videos on YouTube and the articles on Medium.com. You can come join the tribe on hillarybassettross.com, and be sure to consider meeting them in person at an upcoming event or workshop.
