Sharing the Stage with Tim Ferriss and Chase Jarvis
Stephanie and I are back from a trip out to California! I was invited to speak at the Presidio of Monterey and the Naval Post Graudate School for an event called American Dream U(ADU). ADU is a non-profit that runs world class events for veterans and their families to help them start businesses, or find their dream jobs. The event was amazing. The American Dream U team did an awesome job. The founder, Phil Randazzo, is an entrepneur in technology and real estate. Phil has donated a huge amount of his money and time over the years to ensure that these events are completely free for service members and their family. Getting to spend the weekend hanging out with the ADU crew, Tim Ferriss, Chase Jarvis,  and the many other amazing speakers was inspiring. But the best part about the event was getting to spend some time working with veteran business owners and entrepreneurs.  Steph and I had a blast, we talk about the event, and go over a few things we learned. It was a great weekend, and the video from the event/my talk will be live soon.   QUESTIONS! As always, if you want a creative spin and strategies for any problem you're struggling with, ask away here: www.LifeLearning.co/ask We'll pick the best ones, and answer them on the show.

Habits and Mindsets of Entrepreneurial Teams
We got a great comment and episode idea from a friend and listener, Patrick Bowl. He said, "So many great ideas and tools are used by entrepreneurs today - you've mentioned many in your posts. How can someone who isn't an entrepreneur leverage some of those tools in the corporate environment? As an employee of a large or small company, I'm sure the entrepreneurial mindset and decision making process can help transform an established company or even just a team." This is a great comment, question, and show idea! In this entire episode we cover 7 habits, mindsets, and technologies to help foster entrpeneurial teams. To submit a question for our upcoming Q&A, simply head over to LifeLearning.co/ask We'll pick the best ones and answer them on the show!

First Q&A!
In this episode, we dive into 5 amazing questions we've received from listeners.  They include:  • Do you or Stephanie ever lose motivation? • Do you still maintain that college degrees don't always equal career positions and success?   • What in your experience has been the most successful way to combat PTS outside professional therapy? • As technology evolves, so is social life with peers changed. What are some good ways to use technology to meet new friends outside of co-workers?  • How can veterans (or anyone else) get involved in government to make changes from within? Basically, how would you recommend they get into politics?  Thanks so much for these questions! Signal in the Noise
Steph and Chad talk strategically finding the signals that matter to you, in an increasingly noisy world.   It's estimated that by 2018, the data generated from the “internet of things” will be over 400 zettabytes PER YEAR of data, (1 zettabyte = a trillion Giggabytes).   Hmm...   Sounds like some curation, filtering, and synthesis are in order!   We talk how to setup roadblocks, allocating your daily mental bandwith and leveraging technology to help you cut down on the noise.   Tools we cover: Rescue Time, Feedly, Flipboard, and Pulse   Plus, the ultimate productivity hack... by getting rid of something most everyone allows into their home.   P.S. Finding Solutions During Vacations, Quarterly Breaks, and Time Off
It's hard to have faith that time away from your challenges can actually solve them... But it's true.  Taking time off from actively working on problems is often what gives our mind the ability to surface novel, creative solutions. Examples of this in practice abound: whether it's a company like Basecamp encouraging employees to work hard only four days a week, or CEO's like Jeff Bezos taking days off to read, think, and walk... Top performers go all in, then all out. Plus, Chad shares how taking time off from a past business led him to better future choices. Enjoy!
