March was Women's History Month, and we thought it was a great opportunity to create an episode centered on 'Women in Leadership.' To help us with this conversation, we enlisted Madeleine Heide, Superintendent at Asociacion Escuelas Lincoln, and Sara Walsh, Head of Early Childhood and Lower School here at LFCDS.

This theme of this month's episode is 'Arts in Education'. We are thrilled to be joined by Mrs. Erika Brown-Thomas, Grade 8 choir student Christina, and Chris Ramaekers, Director of the Lake Forest Civic Orchestra. Enjoy!

This week's episode is not like any other episode, because, if you can believe it, it is re-enrollment season here at LFCDS. Today we have the pleasure of speaking with Lisa Horstmann, Associate Director of Enrollment at LFCDS, siblings Sam and Ellie, who are new students to our School, and Erby Mitchell, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT.

Today's episode is all about giving back! We chat with Grade 6 students Talyah O. and Alex S. who are running a toy drive here at LFCDS, Nan Caldwell and Greg McDonough who spearhead the School's community service program, and Marge Hamm, the Director of Bears Care, the charitable arm of the Chicago Bears. Many of our listeners may remember that our first season of the LFCDS Community Podcast was produced in conjunction with Pete Moore, former head of Lower School, back in 2019.  Of course, a once in a lifetime pandemic forced us to focus our efforts on the changes it ushered in. But now, we're happy to return to this format to share the amazing stories around us with all of you. Recorded just before Thanksgiving break, this episode includes a conversation with Grade 2 student and poetry competition winner Madeline H., LFCDS faculty member Lukas Christianson, and our Head of School Elect, John Melton. 

Prior to the nation-wide shelter-in-place order due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital's Dr. Michael Walsh was named the LFCDS David Genger Scientist in Residence for the 2019-2020 school year. This interview was recorded in anticipation of his visit, which will be rescheduled for when we are back on campus. We are excited that we will have the opportunity to learn from Dr. Walsh in the coming months, and in the meantime, we hope you enjoy his fascinating talk with Pete Moore.
