Episode 194 - Level Zero Podcast
This week on Level Zero we have something unique to discuss: actual new games! The second wave of titles for the new consoles have hit, albeit a small wave. Xbox One had the drop of Titanfall, PlayStation 4 opened the world of inFAMOUS Second Son and both consoles got Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes. We all had a lot of of fun with both Titanfall and inFAMOUS but we do agree that we still feel like we’re waiting for that true next gen game. Titanfall is a blast but is definitely not the game changer for multiplayer that was envisioned. inFAMOUS is similarly fun but still feels very rooted in the inFAMOUS style, without doing too much new. And when it comes to Metal Gear, well in the time we talked about it you probably could have finished the entire campaign, maybe even more than once. On this episode we also talk about the two main virtual reality headsets out there: Oculus Rift is getting closer to being a reality and just picked up a huge partner in Facebook and Sony is throwing their hat in the ring with Project Morpheus. None of us are too thrilled with the idea of virtual reality but it may literally be a situation where you need to see to believe.

Episode 193 - Level Zero Podcast
Despite rumors to the contrary, Level Zero is alive and well, albeit late. Join Robbie and Kyle this week as we return to the world of podcasting by discussing some recent news in the industry and give impressions from the games we've been playing lately. Kyle has the reboot of the classic Thief franchise to discuss this week and while he's excited to be playing something new on his shiny console, he's less enthused about the actual game. Last generation consoles also make a decent grab at our time as Robbie shows his South Park love for Stick of Truth and Kyle talks about the latest debacle in the Final Fantasy XIII series, Lightning Returns. We also have some big industry moves to go over including the shocking closure of Irrational Games, and the key figures that have departed Naughty Dog and Sony. We also rave over the idea of a new Batman game and take a look at the current state of the new generation of consoles.

We’ve spent several episodes in the past couple of months discussing the new consoles upcoming for Microsoft and Sony. This week join Robbie, Kyle and Addam as we talk about the new console that’s already out: the Wii U. We also discuss the new game announcements for the 3DS, including our excitement over the idea of a brand new Zelda game. We also have some games to cover this week. Addam gives his impressions from the brand new Dead Island Riptide and Kyle regales us with stories of how beautiful Crysis 3 looks on his new PC. Things are starting to settle down in video games now that the new year draws closer. This week join Robbie, Kyle, Addam and special guest Patrick as we talk about some games and topics. Kyle has finally gotten around to playing Journey and he has some pretty strong opinions about it. Addam managed to get his hands on a Wii U and has impressions from several games and just about the console itself. Our main topic for discussion this week is about the mild controversy situated around the cover art for Bioshock Infinite. We talk about Ken Levine's comments about the reasoning behind the generic looking cover and whether his point is valid that it should only matter to the uninformed. Episode 149 - Talking About Gamers Podcast
Another week into the fall season and another triple A game in the bag. This week on Talking About Gamers join Robbie, Kyle, Addam and guest Cool Kev as we tackle the game that used to be about survival horror, Resident Evil 6. If you listened to last week's show you know we're not that excited about Capcom's latest release but we still have some initial impressions from playing the full game. Outside of Resident Evil, our main topic of conversation revolves around developers' relationships with studios. The doctors recently left Bioware, now Cliff Bleszinski is out at Epic Games. We speculate about why these high profile names are leaving their companies. Are they burned out from games? Are the pressures of making a casual game strangling their creativity? Will Cliffy still have enough money to gas up his Lamborghini? Other topics for discussion this week include Indie Game: The Movie, the Medal of Honor Warfighter beta and what types of DLC gets us excited to buy a game. Episode 147 - Talking About Gamers Podcast
Nintendo has finally spilled the beans with (almost) every last detail about their new console, the Wii U. This week on Talking About Gamers join Robbie, Kyle, Samantha and Addam as we discuss the price, release date and chance of success of Nintendo's move into the HD generation. We try our best to stay positive but...well we try. Outside of Wii U discussion we have a plate full of games to talk about ranging from old to new. Kyle found some time to play some early 2012 releases: The Darkness 2 and Spec Ops: The Line. Robbie has returned from his time with Journey and has only positive things to say about. We also dip into recent games by discussing the overlooked XBLA exclusive Mark of the Ninja. Thank you for listening and please enjoy episode 147 of Talking About Gamers. Episode 142 - Talking About Gamers Podcast
The summer gaming drought continues for most of us but that doesn't mean that we don't have a great show for you this week. Join Jason, Kyle, Addam and special guest Gus as we cover various bits of news and talking points. Our main topic stems from Dead Space 3 and the idea of EA dumbing down the horror factor to expand to a broader audience. Some say it makes sense for EA to do it while others feel that there is an audience out there for a good survival horror game. Other topics for discussion this week include the possibility of 2K returning to the football market, Gearbox's Randy Pitchford comparing Duke Nukem Forever to Half-Life and how both Polytron and Microsoft are throwing each other under the bus over patch issues with Fez. We even try to figure out why God of War Ascension is trying to avoid violence against women when we can't think of a single female enemy in the entire series (unless the snake=like Medusa counts).
