One of the most rewarding parts of my career - and I hope for you as well - is the great group of people that I've had the pleasure of working with. Ep. 21 - Jason Hunt - Co-Founder, Meraki BJJ
Over the past year or so, I've talked at length about how much of an impact Brazillian Jiu Jitsu had on me both personally and professionally. In terms of discipline, focus and creativity, I'm a better person because I started training. One of the truly great aspects of jiu jitsu, however,  is the people you get to meet along the way. One of those people is Jason Hunt. Jason is an incredible jiu jitsu teacher, with black belts in both Jude and BJJ. On top of that, he was a national judo champion. He's a really insightful mind, and for those of you that are either new or not quite convinced to the benefits of jiu jitsu, listening to him may be the nudge that you need. On top of that, the principles that we discuss in this episode, are directly applicable to your life and will generate immediate returns. I hope you enjoy this show, and if you're in or near Los Angeles, be sure to check out his academy Meraki BJJ - it's a beautiful facility, with incredible teaching and a great population of students. Ep. 20 - How to have a successful partnership with Dave Anderson & Roger Hurni, Co-founders of Off Madison Ave
We all know the old adage: partners can't handle success. As a partner in multiple businesses, this scares me, as I want to ensure the best not only for myself but also for my business partners. But the idea of partnership is far more than that, because in a sense we all have partners, even if we're not actively in business with them. We have spouses, girlfriends, boyfriends, or close team members. Taking an active and deliberate approach to how we handle partnership is key if we want to find both harmony and success in our lives. In this episode, we chat with Dave Anderson & Roger Hurni, business partners that I have a tremendous amount of respect for, and are currently celebrating the 20th anniversary of their legendary company, Off Madison Ave. The insight they offer is key for any partnership. This episode was a ton of fun to record, and it is jam-packed with wisdom for anyone that's running a business, wants to run a business, or simply wants to be a better partner in some facet of live. I hope you enjoy! Ep. 19 - Leading Across Generations, Dealing with Being Wronged, and Career Transitions with Baseball Coaching Legend Pat Murphy

Coach Murphy played an important role in my life - and the lives of countless others - for which I'm always grateful. Our discussion reflects on his career and the leadership lessons he's learned, talks career transitions and taking the high road, and even touches on parenting in this incredible look at a truly unique person and leader. Episode 15 - Leaders are Even-Keeled
For many of us, emotions and worry ruin our lives. They hold us back from being who we are capable of being. Worse is that they hinder our ability to lead teams. This week we'll look at why that's true and show you how to be the consistent leader your team needs.  You can get in touch with Chris and the show at: Web: https://www.leadingbythebook.com Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ChrisBook LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ChrisBook

Episode 14 - Parents Need to be Leaders
Perhaps it's the Mother's Day & Father's Day season. Perhaps it's a mid-life crisis. Whatever it is, the past few weeks have been filled with reflection on the roles that parents play - and need to play better in their children's lives. For a leader, they approach their role with their children as any other - with deliberate focus on development and pursuit of something greater. Today we'll explore how to do that, and why so many parents are needlessly miserable.  You can get in touch with Chris and the show at: Web: https://www.leadingbythebook.com Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ChrisBook LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ChrisBook

Episode 13 - Every Problem is a Leadership Problem
There's a simple leadership truth: every problem is a leadership problem. We spend tons of time diagnosing problems only to find ourselves dealing with the same or a similar problem soon after. This is because we don't let leadership be the solution to our problems. This week we'll explore what this looks like in your organization and show you how to be the solution.
