097 | Building a Creative Business w/ Jo Wilson Design
097 | Building a Creative Business with Graphic Designer Jo Wilson of Jo Wilson Design Welcome to Law of Effortlessness Podcast with your Amazon Best Selling Author and resident #businessyoda Shannon Bush! Today Shannon is joined by Jo Wilson, from Jo Wilson Design. You might recognize Jo’s work from the beautifully designed, and illustrations from The Thrive Factor Book! After 20+ years of working for various design studios crossing the globe from South Africa to England and across to Australia, I decided to branch out and start my own business. My focus is offering personal quality creative design to help small business owners bring their big dreams to life. What makes my heart light up is creating branding and visuals for businesses that create work that matters and change people’s lives. Jo is so much more than a logo designer – she’s excited by styling a brand so is personal, beautiful and unique. Shannon chats with Jo about what a visual brand is drilling in deep plucking out the essential ideas and elements of their business and translating it into a beautiful, visual brand. Shannon and Jo talk about the frustrations of graphic design and the rise of DIY branding with tools and apps like Canva. Jo shares her main frustration is inconsistency with switching up visuals in tools like Canva, rather than the consistency being built into a brand when working with a Graphic Designer. You’ll also get to hear the best tips on preparing to work with a Graphic Designer, and making the most of the experience and clues that it’s time to bring on a Designer like feeling embarrassed or ashamed to share business cards or refer people to your website. Pearls of Wisdom “You have all different aspects of your brand – there’s your voice, the way you write, the way you’re photographed. Your logo is just one part of a larger whole.” – Jo Wilson “I love the jobs where I get to add more creativity into it…add that extra bit of human touch.” – Jo Wilson “It doesn’t have to be a whole complete package. It can be little steps by little steps.” – Jo Wilson “Nature is my biggest inspirations, I go for walks and it’s where I get inspired to do things.” – Jo Wilson “You can’t compare yourself to other people, they are in completely different places.” – Jo Wilson Connect with Jo from Jo Wilson Design in these places: Website www.jowilsondesign.com.au Facebook @jowilsondesign Instagram: @jowilsondesign Find Out More About the Thrive Factor Book Here www.thethrivefactorbook.com.au Connect with Shannon here: Thriving Entrepreneur Circle Facebook group for women in business – bit.ly.tecircle Instagram Facebook Tune into other Law of Effortlessness Podcast episodes here   The post 097 | Building a Creative Business w/ Jo Wilson Design appeared first on Creative Possibility.

095 | Effortless Thriving w/ Jay Crisp Crow | The Thrive Factor Book Series
Effortless Thriving with The Thrive Factor Archetypes “I had to learn to celebrate myself and love myself a little bit.” – Jay Crisp Crow Welcome to another episode of the Law of Effortlessness Podcast with your host and #businessyoda Shannon Bush, today joined by Jay Crisp Crow! On today’s episode, we’re joined by copywriter and founder of the Crisp Copy Class, Jay Crisp Crow from Crisp Copy. Jay is here to share with us her experience of uncovering and meeting her Thrive Factor Archetypes. She describes the very moment in time when her results came through and she felt a strong ‘YES! this makes complete sense’ when meeting her own Mentor Teacher who now plays an important role in her business.  Jay shares how knowing her Thrive Factor gave her permission to share and give more without fear of overdoing it.  Shannon describes how she first noticed Jay’s Mentor Teacher shining through with a compassionate and generous nature, but also the challenge of not being able to share the knowledge. You’ll hear Shannon chat about the impact of participating in Jay’s programs in the early stages and watching Jay’s journey progress into what has now become the third round of the Crisp Copy Class. Jay is also an Advocate Rescuer and describes it as being much closer to her soul and also being over-generous. As Jay stepped into the Advocate Rescuer she learned an important lesson from Shannon: that Advocate Rescuer is a huge advocate for herself and needed to be put to work for herself first, before others. In her business, it takes the form of teaching others to use their voices and amplify them by sharing what they want and need to say and not what is ‘safe’. The Mediator Diplomat is also one of Jay’s Thrive Factor Archetypes, her daughter Ella describes this part of Jay as being the mediator and holder of all things – and the balance to the Mentor Teacher and Advocate Rescuer. Stay tuned to hear Shannon share how these archetypes create magnetism in business from allowing yourself to use your strengths and grant yourself permission you enter The Effortless Success Zone. You’ll also hear how Shannon profiled Jay’s daughter, Ella and how it transformed their relationship. Jay shares the challenge of having a Queen Ruler daughter balancing learning and using her voice, with growing into a young woman coupled with her Visionary Creator Archetype, Ella is often impatient for life outside of high school to begin.   Pearls of Wisdom “I came into an industry that is very competitive. When I let my Mentor Teacher out, compassion came out that changed everything.” – Jay Crisp Crow “I had to learn to celebrate myself and love myself a little bit.” – Jay “You’re just learning to be you, and be more of who you are.” – Shannon “The only thing I’ve done differently to anyone else is that I decided to embrace all of me and build my brand around that.” – Jay “There are things that you need to let go of that aren’t your gig. They are gold, priceless! Let them go!” – Jay* Find Out More About The Thrive Factor www.thethrivefactorbook.com.au Connect with Jay Crisp Crow here Jay featured in episode 081 of The Law of Effortlessness, Listen Here Jays Website is here www.crispcrow.com.au Watch Jay’s Video Interview with Shannon Here Connect with Shannon in these Cool Places Creative Possibility www.creativepossibility.com.au Thriving Entrepreneur Circle Facebook group for women in business http://bit.ly/tecircle The post 095 | Effortless Thriving w/ Jay Crisp Crow | The Thrive Factor Book Series appeared first on Creative Possibility.

094 | Become More Visible w/ Nicole Bathurst | The Thrive Factor Book Series
‘The Shape Shifter Alchemist encompasses so much. She is the chameleon.’ – Shannon Bush Welcome to another episode of the Law of Effortlessness Podcast with your #businessyoda Shannon Bush. Today Shannon is joined by Nicole Bathurst from Naturally Nic, a Dietician supporting Breast Cancer Survivors.   Shannon connected with Nicola two years ago, when Nic was uncovering her niche and strengths. Shannon profiled Nic as an  Inspirer Believer, Mentor Teacher, and Shape Shifter Alchemist, a perfect mix for the work Nicola does as a Dietician working with survivors of cancer blending beautifully with her Wise Guide Shape Shifter Alchemist, bringing fun and joy to a very serious conversation. Nicole shares what it was like  to learn what her archetypes, and that she struggled with the Shape Shifter Alchemist initially – as many women do with the ‘bigness’ of all it encompasses but since then, Nic has slowly begun to embrace her Thrive Factor Archetypes, relaxing into them more although it is still a conscious exercise in allowing. Shannon and Nicole chat about how embracing her Mentor Teacher, truly is Nicole’s effortless success zone and how easy and enjoyable her work can be. You’ll also hear Shannon and Nicole talk about the all too common issues around visibility for the Shape Shifter Alchemist and how she challenged herself to do a Facebook Live Video every day for a month and finding her sweet spot with being on live video and now having a system that works effortlessly for her producing and sharing her own content.   Pearls of Wisdom “I don’t even realize I’m inspiring. I’m not doing anything different.” – Nicole Bathurst “We have to remember that not everybody knows everything we know and that we can’t take this for granted.” – Nicole Bathurst “You’re not paying me for the 60 minutes I spend with you. 092 | Visionary Creator | The Thrive Factor Book Series
Visionary Creator Thrive Factor Welcome to Law of Effortlessness Podcast with your Amazon-Best-Selling-Author and #businessyoda in chief, Shannon Bush who today, will introduce you to the Visionary Creator Thrive Factor Archetype. So, who is the Visionary Creator? She’s able to see all that’s possible – seeing the potential that an Inspirer Believer can see in others and take it forwards into what truly is possible with clear messages and insights. One of the challenges with Visionary Creators is being able to see far, so far in advance that can send others into a state of overwhelming. Shannon shares what she has experienced in working with her clients, including how she’s used this innate talent for her own business and mindset. Shannon also shares the frustration with being patient and allowing for some parts of the vision to unfold. We’re joined first by fellow Visionary Creator Caroline Smith from Jackadder Business Consulting. Caroline shares how she had an inkling when she was first introduced to Shannon’s work, but it wasn’t until she had a profiling session and held the Thrive Factor Book in her hands that she burst into tears and realized how powerful this side of herself truly is. Caroline is also an Inspirer Believer, Mentor Teacher, and Mediator Diplomat. Caroline shares how she’s able to see how things can progress and be better in the long term which comes in very handy with the work she does with businesses. We’re joined lastly by Emma Pointon – the final Thrive Factor interview, and the second Visionary Creator! Emma first discovered her archetypes after meeting Shannon at the 2017 Artful Business Conference in Brisbane where she met Shannon and then participated in Market to Thrive (twice!) and discovered her other archetypes as Mentor Teacher, Shape Shifter Alchemist, Heroine Adventurer, and Inspirer Believer. Emma automatically wants to solve a problem when its put before her, and for a time she struggled with it being too masculine but has come to love this part of her and has set boundaries with her friends, noticing that often being able to see so far ahead caused friction. Pearls of Wisdom “People don’t accept that you can good at math and English and art as well.” – Caroline Smith “The Visionary and the Creator are two parts of me that need expression.” – Caroline Smith “Don’t ignore her, it’s amazing how much life deteriorates if you aren’t doing creative or strategic thinking.” – Caroline Smith “I am the conduit between now and the future.” – Caroline Smith “I’m in the intellectual space that people often pigeon me in.” – Emma Pointon “Getting stuck in my head and it getting cluttered is a big challenge. 091 | Shape Shifter Alchemist | The Thrive Factor Book Series
Shape Shifter Alchemist Thrive Factor Archetype Welcome to Law of Effortlessness Podcast with your Amazon-Best-Selling-Author and #businessyoda in chief, Shannon Bush who today, will introduce you to the Shape Shifter Alchemist Thrive Factor Archetype. The Shape Shifter Alchemist is a chameleon among the Thrive Factor Archetypes. She’s versatile and able to shift into and out of many things, but this ability comes with challenges! She is a woman of magic and mystery, and while she’s able to go with the flow, she can struggle to know who she is in the world. In the business world she can show many versions of herself, or alternatively in business can sabotage herself and go into hiding. She’s magnetic and fascinating to others, but when the Shape Shifter is uncertain in who she is mistrust can build and be pulled away. Shannon is talking today to Shape Shifter Alchemist Christina Cabrera from Wisdom of Wealth. Christina first met Liberator Engineer, Visionary Creator, Mediator Diplomat, and Inspirer Believer back in September 2015. Christina shares how she’s somehow able to create magic or something out the ordinary that wows people and leaves them asking, ‘how did you do that?!’ she also shares a deeply hidden part of her that felt she couldn’t say that things came easily to her, and conversely how she easily can sabotage herself especially with technology. You’ll also hear the joy that being a Shape Shifter Alchemist brings in her playfulness, and ability to take easily to the stage. Kat Blake from Invigorate Natural Therapy joins the conversation with #businessyoda Shannon Bush to talk all about her experiences of discovering her Shape Shifter Alchemist during the course of Shannon’s program Market to Thrive. Kat is also an Inspirer Believer, Liberator Engineer, and an Advocate Rescuer with a sprinkling of the Heroine Adventurer. Kat and Shannon share the key moment when Kat first recognized the power of her ability to manifest with the ability to manifest things so easily like clients. On the flip side, Kat shares how sensitive the Universe seems to be to her thoughts and actions and what manifests as a result. Pearls of Wisdom “Shape Shifters are magnetic and magical, women of mystery and for that reason pull people in. But if uncertain in who she is, she is ungrounded and others a pulled away.” – Shannon Bush “I can manifest anything I want to.” – Christina Cabrera “Make friends with your Archetypes and learn to listen to them. They will speak loudly and that’s your queue.” – Christina Cabrera “It’s not personal when someone reschedules with me, that was a big thing to learn.” – Kat Blake “Mind your thoughts and what your putting out there because it will manifest” – Kat Blake Find Out More About The Thrive Factor Book www.thethrivefactor.com.au Connect with Our Shape Shifter Alchemists here Christina Cabrera’s  Website and Facebook Group Kate Blake’s Website Connect with Shannon in these Cool Places Creative Possibility www.creativepossibility.com.au Thriving Entrepreneur Circle Facebook group for women in business http://bit.ly/tecircle The post 091 | Shape Shifter Alchemist | The Thrive Factor Book Series appeared first on Creative Possibility.

090 | Queen Ruler | The Thrive Factor Book Series
Queen Ruler Thrive Factor Archetype Welcome to Law of Effortlessness Podcast with your Amazon-Best-Selling-Author and #businessyoda in chief, Shannon Bush who today, will introduce you to the Queen Ruler Thrive Factor Archetype. We begin this podcast by exploring who the Queen Ruler is – a woman with a regal presence. This woman loves the finer things in life, and enjoys beautifully designed things in their life. If you’ve ever purchased anything from a Queen Ruler, you might have noticed how high-quality the experience is! Queen Rulers often make decisions free from emotion,  a unique trait among the Thrive Factor Archetypes, and they are strong characters. We first meet Karen Dauncey from Blue Cherry, a service that helps businesses get found online. Karen tells us how she felt an immediate kinship to her Queen Ruler meeting her first two years ago. Karen is also an Inspirer Believer and a Mediator Diplomat. Karen shares the strengths she has as a Queen Ruler, like making hard decisions in business that aren’t affected by emotion enabling her to make the changes she’s needed to. Karen also shares another strength in being able to easily delegate things. We’re joined next by Liesel Albrecht from Retreats at Resorts. Liesel first met her Queen Ruler with a sigh of relief and excitement three years ago. Liesel also identifies as a Mentor Teacher, Inspirer Believer, and Shape Shifter Alchemist – which Liesel loves the balance each bring to the table. Liesel shares great insight about when things feel like the wheels are coming off, to use the mantra “it’s ok. I’m building an Empire.” That has supported her through tough business moments. We’re joined lastly by Swapna Thomas. Swapna works with rebels to embrace and work in their zone of expertise. Swapna first met Shannon four years ago, connecting in the online business world. Swapna is also a Mentor Teacher and Liberator Engineer – her thirst for knowledge is ‘very real’ indeed with these archetypes! At first, Swapna was not prepared to be a Queen Ruler and denied it – she rebelled against the idea of a dark queen and the shadow side but as she learned more and more she began to embrace her shadow side. Swapna struggled with the idea of being a Queen, who was she to rule others? Swapna had to learn to own her value and worth and has since gone on the support her clients do the very same thing. Swapna shares the challenges – from feeling threatened by others ‘vying for the throne’. Pearls of Wisdom “Queen Rulers are here for big things, but often have doubts about if they have what it takes.” – Shannon Bush “Wear your crown and own it. Step out, and rule.” – Karen Dauncey “Not every Queen is an Evil Queen like in Snow White.” Liesel Albrecht “This is about generous leadership, the positive ramifications and ripple effect.” – Shannon Bush “When I started to leverage it, and lean into it that’s when it really changed the game.” – Swapna Thomas Find Out More About The Thrive Factor Book Here www.thethrivefactorbook.com.au  Connect with Our Queen Rulers Here Karen Dauncey Website Liesel Albrecht Website Swana Thomas Website Connect with Shannon in these Cool Places Creative Possibility www.creativepossibility.com.au Thriving Entrepreneur Circle Facebook group for women in business http://bit.ly/tecircle The post 090 | Queen Ruler | The Thrive Factor Book Series appeared first on Creative Possibility.

Network Connector with Jayne Griffiths In this episode, #businessyoda and Amazon-Best-Selling Author Shannon Bush is back and today discussing the Network Connector Thrive Factor Archetype!  Shannon interviews Jayne Griffiths, who identifies as a Network Connector. Shannon starts off by describing the characteristics of a Network Connector, and gives some advice about traversing this archetype.  Jayne tells us about her business Indigo Shift and explains what she does in her work. Jayne shares how she started working with Shannon and identifies her archetypes as the Inspirer Believer, Mentor Teacher, Advocate Rescuer, Shapeshifter Alchemist, and the Network Connector, as well as some of the challenges she’s faced with them and strengths she has because of them. Jayne tells us more about her Network Connector, and how she enjoys networking and meeting people. She finds it very easy to connect people with each other; sharing that it seems like a natural thing to her, and describes it as a ‘map in her head’. She does admit, that networking can be tiring sometimes, and that networking connections can at times be shallow. She’s now dedicated herself to smaller networking groups so that she can create long and meaningful relationships.  Shannon gives Jayne and the rest of us some advice about being a Network Connector and assures us that not everyone is an extrovert and that’s okay. Jayne gives us some tasty tidbits of advice to help other Network Connectors through their journey!  Pearls of Wisdom “A Networker Connector has an incredibly wide and broad and deep network of individuals in her world, both on a personal level and a professional level” – Shannon “I feel like I almost carry a map around in my head, about everyone I meet and how they would all link to each other, and to me that seems very natural” – Jayne “Network connectors hover and see, scan the room, to see who’s there, to see who you know, see who you don’t know, see who you think might not know each other, and put all those pieces of the human puzzle together” – Shannon Connect with Jayne Here Website www.indigoshift.com.au Find Out More About The Thrive Factor Book www.thethrivefactor.com.au Connect with Shannon in these Cool Places: Creative Possibility on the web www.creativepossibility.com.au Thriving Entrepreneur Circle Facebook group for women in business http://bit.ly/tecircle The post 088 | The Network Connector | The Thrive Factor Book Series appeared first on Creative Possibility.

Tracey shares how she fat out rejected the Mother Nurturer initially but came to see the bigger picture and how shehe needed to come into her own authenticity and voice. Shannon asks Tracey how this shows up in her business, and Tracey shares how she had to learn that not everyone is ready for everything you have to give, andthat having a level of detachment from what happens in her therapy room is never about her personally, but about someone else and gives her clients the room to find and spread their own wings. 086 | Mentor Teacher | The Thrive Factor Book Series
086 |The Mentor Teacher Thrive Factor Welcome to the Law of Effortlessness Podcast with Amazon-Best-Selling Author and #businessyoda, Shannon Bush! Today Shannon introduces you to the Mentor Teacher Thrive Factor Archetypes, strap in because Mentor Teachers have a to to say and so this episode is longer than usual! Mentor Teachers are here on this earth to Mentor, and Teach and not just in the realms of gaining qualifications. They are always on the lookout for new things to learn in books, courses, podcasts. They are the researchers of the world and pride themselves on what they know. She has moments of being a smarty-pants, can be a bit of a know-it-all, and is incredibly wise. Often, the Mentor Teacher especially as a young woman or girl has interactions with people older than her who indicate she shouldn’t know something yet, or she is too young to know anything causing her to doubt her own knowledge and wisdom. Shannon is joined today by three incredible Mentor Teachers, Dr. Ricci Jane Adams, Julie Gibbons and Sarah Thomson. Dr. Ricci Jane Adama is the founder and Principal of the Institute of Intuitive Intelligence (you can find her on pages 136 and 137 of The Thrive Factor Book). Dr. Ricci Jane first met her Archetypes two years ago, describing it as a very powerful, pivotal moment for her, meeting the Liberator Engineer, Inspirer Believer, Shapeshifter Alchemist and of course, the Mentor Teacher.  Ricci shares her vision of bringing regulation to the word of Intuitive Services in the same way regulations guide Universities and schools, and meeting her Mentor Teacher gave her permission to bring her vision together, and manifest it in the real world. Sarah Thomson from Online Social Butterfly joins Shannon, and how she first met Shannon five years ago and then began coaching with her. Sarah shares her archetypes of Mentor Teacher, Pioneer Seeker and Inspirer Believer and how during her profiling session, she cried realizing all the things she thought were her weaknesses were actually her greatest strengths. Sarah shares how she has a tough time not signing up for courses and constantly learning, especially with a fear that she does not know enough. Sarah also shares one tip that’s worked very well for her – that will with every hour of learning she has to spend two hours implementing (Find Sarah on page 135) You’ll also hear from Julie Gibbons, former University, TAFE and High School lecturer and the owner of Tractor Girl who teachers makers and crafters to present themselves better online. Julie shares how she was in Mentor Teacher heaven by being paid to research branding, and now teaches branding. Julie chats about self-doubt being a challenge Notable Quotes and Pearls of Wisdom “I have to be careful because my Liberator Engineer comes in and wants to add all the new things I’ve learned and change the curriculum!” – Dr. Ricci Jane Adams “If you don’t take the time, you won’t know what is genuinely yours.” R. Ricci Jane Adams “Find the space that feels effortless. It’s the easiest way, find the space where you bring your Mentor Teacher to life.” – Sarah Thomson “There are so many beautiful things in the world, my Inspirer Believer is is very happy to see them.” – Julie Gibbons “You don’t have to know everything to be an authority, you just have to know enough.” – Julie Gibbons Connect with the Mentor Teachers here: Dr. Ricci Jane Adams can be found on her website Branding Mentor Julie Gibbons can be found on her website and Facebook. 085 | The Mediator Diplomat | The Thrive Factor Book Series
Meditor Diplomat Thrive Factor Welcome to The Thrive Factor Book Series, today it’s all about the Mediator Diplomat Thrive Factor Archetype. This lady is all about balance and will find herself often caught in the middle of a lot of things and as much as she wants to share and help people, when her advice isn’t followed it can get frustrating. One of the greatest gifts of the Mediator Diplomat that’s often overlooked and undervalued, is that she is an amazing listener that makes those she interacts with not only feel listened too, but also heard. She’s able to see all sides of the whole and all the moving parts, which means she’s able to present different view points that doesn’t always sit well with others. Boundaries are so important for this lady, and more often than not the Mediator Diplomat tends to be a perfectionist, so please, be kind to yourself and put things out there even when they aren’t quite right. Join Shannon for a wonderful discussion with three Mediator Diplomats, Shalini Nandan, Nat Wright and Adwoa Abban. First up, is Shalini Nandan (featured in The Thrive Factor Book) from Legally Shalini, supporting and educating women to run responsible businesses with the right legal foundations in place.  Shalini talks about the experience o embracing her archetypes from having one idea, and then recognizing that perhaps her initial perceptions needed adjusting. Shalini’s favourite super-power is her ability to listen carefully and allowing a resolution to unfold rather than pushing through and allowing solutions to present themselves. Keep listening to hear from Nat Wright who you’ve heard previously on episode 058 of the Law of Effortlessness Podcast. Nat is the owner of Verissima Natural Skin Care, where she hand crafts all natural, beautiful skin care products toxin free. Nat discovered her archetypes in a profiling session with Shannon where she found herself nodding along, and feeling a big YES! Over time, Nat’s learned to rein in her Inspirer Believer, and to balance the Mediator Diplomat with her Mentor Teacher archetype. Nat utilizes her archetypes to be an advocate for natural, toxin free beauty products as the Mediator Diplomat and Mentor Teacher compliment each other for Nat to educate and advocate her customers. Nat reveals that she’s been challenged by infinitely high standards that hold her back for not ever having her work feeling good enough and how she’s balanced it by learning to be proud of her work and all she’s achieved, and to celebrate them. Adwoa first met her archetypes two years ago and describes it as a confirmation of her identity, and how she is in the world. Adwoa is also an Inspirer Believer, Mentor Teacher and Shapeshifter Alchemist. Adwoa shares what she’s learned from being a Mediator Diplomat, particularly with shifting her perspective to walk in someone else’s shoes and see what life is like from another’s perspective, and requiring others to meet her halfway. Adwoa also shares the challenges she faces with having high expectations and standards, often pushing herself further without stopping, and self-doubt. Pearls of Wisdom “The Mediator Diplomat allows me to operate from a higher place and raises the bar for people in solving problems.” – Shalini Nandan “Give yourself a break when it comes to your standards. It’s self-sabotage. Realize that where you’re at and what you’re doing it OK.” – Nat Wright “Trust yourself and what you know. Be yourself at all times.” – Adwoa Abban Connect with Our Guests Here Shalini Nandan: @legallyshalini Tune into Shalini’s interview with Shannon on episode 053: Navigating Small Business Legals Nat Wright: @verissimanaturalskincare Tune into Nat’s interview with Shannon on episode 058: The Accidental Skin Care Business Adwoa Abban: @quantumphasesconsulting Find Out More About The Thrive Factor Book www.thethrivefactorbook.com.au Connect with Shannon in these Places: Creative Possibility www.creativepossibility.com.au Thriving Entrepreneur Circle Facebook group for women in businessh The post 085 | The Mediator Diplomat | The Thrive Factor Book Series appeared first on Creative Possibility.

LOE 082 | The Thrive Factor Book Series with Kerri Duff-Borthen
Podcast Episode 082 | The Thrive Factor Book Series: Be a Ninja and Love Yourself w/ Kerri Duff-Borthen Welcome to Episode 082 of the Law of Effortlessness Podcast with your #businessyoda host, Shannon Bush! Today Shannon is joined by Kerri Duff-Borthen from The Shortlister, a recruitment platform for business owners across Australia. Kerri met her Thrive Factor Archetypes back in 2017, as a Pioneer Seeker, Visionary Creator, Inspirer Believer, Mediator Diplomat, and a sneaky Heroine Adventurer that kept poking and prodding her way to be seen and heard. Kerri spent two years getting to know each one individually and embracing them wholeheartedly. She identifies mostly as the Pioneer Seeker and Inspirer Believer but sees how they each blend together and make up the whole of who she is (see page 205 of The Thrive Factor Book). Kerri shares how she previously ran a more traditional recruitment agency called Duff Recruitment but found it was ‘eating her soul’ – it was then that she met Shannon and was profiled with her archetypes and began to embrace and utilize her archetypes including the Mediator Diplomat who supported her to create a process that supported both the employer and candidate beautifully through the recruitment process, and using the Visionary Creator and Pioneer Seeker to disrupt the market and pioneer a new way forward in her industry. Embracing these parts of herself had led Kerry to great success including recognition in the form of awards for her work. But, like all archetypes there are challenges – Kerri shares how she has learned to identify when she’s out of balance, and that her biggest challenge is being hard on herself – and on the flip side, how she brings herself back into alignment when she’s having a ‘dumpy’ day. Learn More About The Thrive Factor Book www.thethrivefactor.com.au Noteable Quotes and Pearls of Wisdom “It can be really lonely. I tend to be two or three steps ahead of everyone because I can see where people are going and the path they’re taking. I see their potential.” – Kerri “It can be a really fun, transparent process. It doesn’t have to be gloomy and heavy.” – Kerri “I can be very hard on myself and quite judgemental, an overthinker and I can be harsh on others. That’s when I know I’m out of balance.” – Kerri “Many of us are role models now. It can be tough, but often the harshness we feel is self-inflicted.” – Shannon “Know our archetypes individually. You might identify with one or two more than the others, but get to know them well.” – Kerri “Figure out what makes yourself shine, and do more of that.” – Kerri Connect with Kerri in these cool places Facebook: @theshortlister Website: www.theshortlister.com.au Connect with Shannon in these places Find Out More About The Thrive Factor Book www.thethrivefactor.com.au Creative Possibility www.creativepossibility.com.au Thriving Entrepreneur Circle Facebook group for women in business http://bit.ly/tecircle The post LOE 082 | The Thrive Factor Book Series with Kerri Duff-Borthen appeared first on Creative Possibility.
