They also addressed Coach Scott's recent admission that he expected rookie D'Angelo Russell to have progressed a bit further along in his development at this state, and touched on whether this might actually be the perfect time to reach out to the Sacramento Kings in order to see what the availability of DeMarcus Cousins might be at this juncture?

The duo also discussed the overall outlook of the young core as we move forward, how effective Coach Scott's methods have been with the younger players and whether Geltzeiler believes the team would consider making a move on the trade market if it meant shipping one or more of their developing assets out of town in order to make the current roster more enticing to potential upcoming free agents.

Lakers Nation Podcast: Episode 9
LakersNation.com's Jabari Davis was joined by Jamieson Welsh (Fox Sports Radio) and Jordan Buscarini (Castle Country Radio) once again for this week's episode. The three of them intended to discuss Kobe Bryant's sudden resurgence and whether we should be concerned about his sore shoulder, but the conversation ended up centering around General Manager Mitch Kupchak's recent comments about the organization's preference to develop the young core in an effort to attract potential free agents. They continued the conversation by diving into the potential negative impact of continuing to limit the playing time, roles and responsibilities of D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson. The trio also discussed this week's LakersNation.com Roundtable Question (by Corey Hansford): has Roy Hibbert played up to the level we expected? While the 7'2 big man can't possibly be expected to erase all of this team's defensive issues, some of the panel may have anticipated a bit more productivity and effort being that he is in a contract year. Lakers Nation Podcast: Episode 7
LakersNation.com's Jabari Davis was joined by Jamieson Welsh (Fox Sports Radio) and Jordan Buscarini (Castle Country Radio) for the seventh installment of your Lakers Nation Podcast. The trio discussed Magic Johnson's recent comments about the front office and Jim Buss in particular. Davis asks if Johnson's criticism, while somewhat accurate, comes across as a bit of revisionist history given the fact that the former Laker-great publicly endorsed several of the moves he seems to be critical of at this point. Davis also asked the panel to discuss some of the positive developments they've seen from the young core, while also addressing the current rotation, player frustration and whether the team may consider moving anyone if a more compatible or promising player were to become available on the market. Rather than their customary 'Final Shots' to close the show, the three of them took a moment to acknowledge some of Kobe Bryant's greatest moments since the 20-year-veteran officially announced his retirement last week.

Lakers Nation Podcast: Episode 6
LakersNation.com's Jabari Davis was joined by Jamieson Welsh (Fox Sports Radio) and Jordan Buscarini (Castle Country Radio) once again for this week's episode. The three of them took a look at how D'Angelo Russell compares to the production of some of his contemporaries from the top of his draft class. We also addressed some of the off-the-court and maturity issues of Jahlil Okafor, as Jabari asked if there could have potentially been warning signs that could have caused the organization to shy away from drafting the big man. The three of them also dove into the impending and inevitable final call for Kobe Bryant, how the team and coaching staff in particular could place him in more ideal situations and positions on the court in order to best utilize him in his final season. The LakersNation.com Roundtable question of the week was: Should Bryant go ahead and retire at some point in the season? While none of them believed the idea of forcing or even asking a five-time champion out the door was even fathomable, the discussion did center around the potential of another injury making the decision a lot easier or perhaps more difficult, depending on the perspective.
