Coming from beautiful Los Angeles, Waraire has made suits for icons like LeBron James and Collin Kaepernick while impacting the fashion industry in a positive way.   Barney and Waraire talk about how little Black representation there is in the boardroom meetings, especially in the fashion industry. “They want my vibration, but they don’t want my impute”. They talk about the importance of diversity within company culture.   They talk about the importance of action vs complaining. “Don’t complain about it, just go do it” – Waraire’s father. There are many people who don’t know what they are doing it, but they are out there doing it. They point out the importance of treating everyone around you with respect.   Finally, they talk about the importance of being honest and transparent. They talk about how many athletes leave their sport completely broke and depressed. The rise of social media has played a critical role in brand development providing opportunities for players on and off the field.   Ryan talks about the process of making the switch from football to business and how that transition can be an identity crisis.  He also talks about the resistance he faces and being stereotype as an athlete vs businessman. Lastly, Ryan discusses his new company Alchmy: A Black Wellness program designed to help people properly heal from Traumatic experiences they have had. Ryan states “Nobody is primarily focused on the health of black men. Our program is built by Black people with Black doctors”.

This is Voices of Pride, a mini-podcast series dedicated to Pride and equality. The first episode is with @noh8campaign founders, Jeff Parshley and Adam Bouska.  The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with "NOH8" painted on one cheek in protest. Nine years since its inception, the NOH8 Campaign has grown to over 56,000 faces and continues to grow.

On this episode of K-Swiss Live, Omar welcomes Gabriella Gomez K-Swiss Global Marketing Director as a co-host. They converse about International Women’s Day, women leadership, sneaker design winner, and community on social media.   March 8th is International Women’s Day and K-Swiss is celebrating by highlighting women they have collaborated with in the past, women leaders in the office, and bringing female friends on the podcast for the rest of the month. The majority of the leadership in the office are women and they want to highlight them.   Recently, K-Swiss Europe collaborated with retail store USC in London to host a shoe design competition. The winner would get a free trip to Los Angeles, visit the K-Swiss HQ to meet with the designers and bring their shoe to life. Not only that, the shoe design will be produced and sold at USC (150 pairs). Talk about a dream come true. The winner was Tahja @taj.ruth, a young graphic designer from Essex. Congratulations to her.     The most important lesson with her winning, is the power of putting yourself out there and not being afraid to share your work. The more you share it, the more people see it, the more opportunity you have.   Lastly, K-Swiss Instagram just hit 100k followers! Omar has been spearheading this for over a year and he mentions the power and importance of community. Buying followers and likes is not a good practice when wanting to be authentic and transparent. Even hosting too many giveaways can hurt your brand.
