So, two of the three Kingdome Implosion dudes are diehard, long-time Sonics fans. One of us is watching this year's playoffs, which, by all accounts, are some of the greatest games in league history. The other refuses to do so on moral grounds. Does the new league commish, Adam Silver, and his banishment of Clippers owner Donald Sterling affect how we view the league? Does it make it more likely that we get a team back here in Seattle? Let's discuss.

Prior to watching James Paxton, Seattle's latest ace, propel the Mariners to a startling three-game sweep of the Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim, Jay and Mike sit down to discuss whether or not it's safe to raise our expectations of the team just a wee bit.  Other topic discussed: Our hatred of Josh Hamilton.  And yes, we did mistakenly think Chris Young was starting in place of Paxton, whom we believed was injured for some reason. Look, you can't expect us to be experts. 

Pitchers and catchers have reported to spring training. That can only mean one thing: It's time to talk about the upcoming Seattle Mariners season, painful as that thought might be. In episode No. 2, Mike, Jay and Jose discuss the state of the roster, including the small army of DHs, first basemen and designated hitters, and run down all the offseason moves that Jack Z could have made to fix the lineup.  Plus, a little bit about how the Seahawks' strong personalities resonate in and out of Seattle after the Super Bowl win, and the first ever listener question ... which means the Kingdome Implosion has at least one listener!

It's the very first episode of the Kingdome Implosion, a Seattle sports podcast hosted by Mike Standish, Jose Amador and Jay Cox.  On the eve before the Super Bowl (yes, it took us a while to publish this) we sat down in the 'Dome headquarters (aka the very small Paramount Theatre office of Do 206) to vent our anxieties about the big game, and talk about what teams a fan is allowed to root for -- if you're from Philly, but have lived in Seattle for 10 years, are you a Mariners fan? A Phillies phanatic? Both? Finally, we wrap up with a quick look at something that hopefully is no longer an issue now that the Seahawks have won the big game: fatalism in Seattle sports. We're no longer cursed, you guys. Well, the Mariners might be, but still.
