This week we bring you a special episode, an episode we hope you find inspirational. We welcomed Anaheim’s own Poet Laureate, Grant Hier, into our studio. We learned about him through our own Anaheim Union district librarian, Mrs. Regina Powers, who also joins us this week. Mr. Hier shares his background, writing philosophies, and future plans for budding artists. Mrs. Powers presents her plans for a district-wide creative writing magazine for students. It’s an episode you don’t want to miss!

The podcast club loves October, and they ring in the month with a discussion of the Day of the Dead, a tradition celebrated in the Hispanic culture. The kids give an in-depth overview of the holiday and a brief overview of its comparisons to the American holiday of Halloween. Keep listening to the end when they cover folklore and ghost stories. You don’t want to miss this one.

October is the month of spirits, wandering souls, the Day of the Dead, and superstitions. Take a listen to this week’s episode wherein our podcast club talks about Witchcraft -- a perfect topic to start the month. They discuss the definition of witchcraft, the Salem Witch Trials, and much, much more. Make sure to listen in with an open mind and open heart, for not all witches are as bad as made out to be.

Welcome to the Kennedy Strong Podcast.  We have three sophomore students from Kennedy discussing the inaccurate depiction of teens in film and tv. They discuss Means Girls, High School Musical, Boy Meets World, and many more. It’s an interesting discussion about generational issues that you won’t want to miss.

Most people today live lives that aren’t their own. They mostly follow the same basic pattern: going through school until college, finding a spouse, baring children, and ultimately having their children start back on square one. Is there anyway you think we could stop this tedious existential realism we call “life”? Of course, all you have to do is listen to today’s podcast. Because on today’s podcast Khalil, Konrad, and Jorge are going to inform us on the various other opportunities after school outside of college.

Society wants you to get into a job you like but, get played for it. Yet there are many people who want creative jobs but avoid since there that are at times looked down upon. We’ll be learning about the Criminal justice class and how it helps students learn about the search for evidence needed during a jury or bench trial. The field of Criminal Justice can send criminals to jail and convict them at trial, so it’s an important one, and we are lucky to have this experience for students at Kennedy. He spends the episode talking about his personal experience as a student, juggling school work and other responsibilities that can become very overwhelming. Adding a mental illness on top of that can cause serious stress and depression. You get a glimpse into the world of ADHD, as this episode travels from the topic at hand to video games to mythology.
