E04: The 5 P's of Decision Making
Welcome to Episode 4 of Just One Simple Thing! In this episode, we’ll continue our discussion about decision-making with five verses you can pray and five questions you can ask as a filter to help you make decisions. You’ll also learn what to do when a decision gets stuck in the middle of your filter. You ready? Let’s get to it!Key Points:Here are five practical things we can pray through when deciding what to do next in our ministries or businesses.Ask these questions: 1.Is it consistent with your purpose? 2. Does it fit in with other pieces of your ministry or business?3. Does it reflect a God-honoring Presence?4. How does it affect your people?5.Are you in the right position?Clarity comes from action. By taking the first few simple steps towards that decision, you'll bring closure to the decision faster than if you just sit and ponder. There is a place where micro steps towards what seems like a good idea can give us clarity and confidence to either move ahead or step back.Action Step:Download the Decision Making Filter, print it out, fill it in, and keep it handy for your next big decision. Then snap a picture and share it on social media using the hashtag #justonesimplething. Resources:If you are having a hard time making a decision that sticks, it might help to talk it out with someone. You can use this link for a free Define call and we can filter through it together. The Three Things You Need to Make Good Decisions
It’s Episode 3 of Just One Simple Thing and I’m delighted that you’ve hung in there with me for these simple beginnings. In this episode, we’ll tackle one of the top struggles we face ... making decisions. My favorite tool for making confident choices is the Decision Making Framework. It will help you make good day-to-day decisions in your ministry or business. So let’s dive into the framework.Key Points:The struggle with making decisions is that we don't have a method to evaluate one option versus another.Having a Decision Framework makes it super clear in our heads and keeps us focused. The second part of the Decision Framework is to move closer to solving our biggest pain points, not towards making them worst. The third part of the Decision Framework is thinking about our resources and what we do have instead of what we lack.By combining your why...with your pain points...and your resources, you have a framework for making decisions.Action Step:Download the Decision Framework worksheet. There is a place to record your why, your pain points, and an assessment of your resources. Complete the worksheet, snap a picture of it and tag me on social media with the hashtag #justonesimplething so I can cheer you on!Resources:Join our community in the free Facebook Group Plan & Play with Do A New Thing for support, encouragement, and follow up on your action steps.Book Recommendation: The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands by Lysa TerKeurst

What Difference Can Just One Simple Thing REALLY Make?
Hey Hey! It’s Episode 2 and we are really rolling now! In this episode, you’ll learn what “tough grace accountability” means, how you can take part in every episode, and what REALLY happens when you take just one small step towards your goals.Key Points:Tough-grace accountability means you won’t always be perfect and life happens, but we love you too much and care too much about your dream to let you keep making excuses.Unless we know specifically the problem we are trying to solve, a lot of the things we try may not help, and could actually make things worse, substituting activity for effectiveness. The value of that one small step is so much more than the incremental result that you see. That one step creates movement, motivation, and momentum. Action Step:Download the Dream Blockers template for Instagram Stories or Facebook. Use it to list the top three things that are standing between you and the dream God has put on your heart, then post it on social media and tag me @doanewthing and #justonesimplething.Resources:Follow me on Instagram or Facebook @doanewthing for tips, encouragement, and resources as you do your thing!
