Why This Stuff Matters
Ever wonder just why this stuff matters anyway? Just go to Church, listen to the Pastor an do what he says. Everything will be okay. I don't need to know the Bible, or the ins and outs the church i belong to.

One Big Disconnect
One Big Disconnect Today's show is about one big disconnect. Bigger than a set of doubles uncoupling on the interstate. Bigger than a train engine loosing 100 train cars. It's the disconnect of men. Disconnected from one another, and from the next generation.

The Death of the Mom and pop Truck Stops
This is the third attempt at this subject, but we'll get it right.

The Death of the Mom and Pop Truck Stops
Mom and Pop Truck Stops We've all been there, at least those of us who've driven for big fleets. You pull into a Pilot and put in the 77 gallons of fuel as per your Qualcom. Parking? Not here. The parking lot is small. The only hot food is fast food and there is no TV room or driver lounge. You do what so many other drivers do. You drive your rig across the street to the mom and pop truck stop. It's been there for years, has good food and a drivers lounge. Only this time, it's different. The truck stop is closed. Locked down, with a big chain across the entrance. Now you and the other 149 truckers that were going to park there tonight have to continue down the Highway and hope the next mom and pop truck stop is still in business. If you're e-logging or if there's a weigh station coming up, you have a real problem on your hands. I was talking to a friend on the phone last night as he tried to park his old 379 for the night. It's not like he was on the east coast or southern California. He was in Oak Grove, KY. What do you say we crack this one open and talk about the shrinking parking lots of the not-so-full service truck stop. We're also going to crack open Ephesians 6 and compare it to the Roman soldier's uniform in in the first century. This is where the rubber hits the road as far as being the man you want to be is concerned. We will also talk a little more about Kevin Rutherford's latest Signature truck build.

Jesus' Band of Brothers
Jesus band of brothers? Well we call them that. But we know that Jesus hand picked these men to be a part of his iner circle. What can we learn from them? Also, let's look at the book of Joshua. What can we learn from Joshua and Caleb? I am quite drawn to Caleb's story. At 85 he is still ready to kick butt and take names.

Jesus, Zero and Human Nature - JTC102
Jesus, Zero and Human Nature I had a Facebook comment about the reality of Jesus, and I want to take some time to respond. Although the comment wasn't posted as a question, I will address is as if it were. The question will be Was Jesus real? Was he a living, breathing man? I'm not a theologian. I am a trucker and a lifetime student of the Bible. The number ZERO has a fascinating history. I did a little digging on this one and I think you will enjoy what I've learned. What is it with out human nature? Why do we laugh at other people's misfortunes and find fault in their success? I want to talk about a couple of examples of this that came to light in the mainstream news this week.

Extreme Makeover-Take Two. Teamwork Lessons from a Navy SEAL
Today we are talking about teamwork. What does the team life look like for a Christian trucker? Most of us probably don't think about it very often, but we are a team. I found Navy SEAL, a podcast by former SEAL David Rutheford while looking for other podcasts wiyhin the BlogTalk platform. You can find David' work at Teamfroglogic.com and in iTunes. If you go back a few episodes, you will find a 5 part series on teamwork. We will cover it in more detail in this episode, and apply it to our life and industry.

Tests for Trucking Company Employees
I first saw this subject on The Trucker's Report, a news service I subscribe to. It's a good question, and I want to ask the question of you. Being down with a cold, I am prerecording today's Episode so you don't have to listen to me cough. No pause button on a live show. Did you know that 70% of coffee in the world is consumed as instant? I am looking into the healthier choices for instant coffee.
