LOSERS: Netflix Documentary Series Review & Recommendation
If you haven’t seen it yet, the new Netflix documentary series “Losers” is highly recommended! This 7 episode series brings you the behind-the-scenes of some really remarkable stories about sports. In every contest, there are winners and losers, but our society places maximum value on winning and as a result our culture usually sees things through the lease of winning. This documentary helps counter this one-sided view and by telling you the stories of the “Losers” you’ll see the real struggle and growing that takes place to cope with big loss and live through it. Watch the episode here! It's fun! We both really enjoyed this documentary series and would highly recommend it to everyone. FROM THE MAKERS In a "winning is everything" society, how do we handle failure? This series profiles athletes who have turned the agony of defeat into human triumph. LEAVING HONG KONG: Why We Moved Away From The City We Love (TBT Throwback Thursday)
Back in 2013 we officially moved away from Hong Kong. This was a bittersweet moment for us because we both LOVE Hong Kong! Watch the episode here WHY WE LOVE HONG KONG Hong Kong is a really special place and our quality of life in Hong Kong was AMAZING! We lived 30 minutes to “Central” (the center of downtown) and we had an awesome trailhead 5 minutes behind our place with access to some of the most beautiful hiking trails around. Our apartment was near the top floor of our building and overlooked the mountains (with a partial ocean view). Hong Kong also has one of the most efficient and highly developed transportation systems on earth. You can literally walk out at any time and move around the city quickly and easily. You don’t need a car like in Detroit. And finally, the FOOD in Hong Kong is spectacular! You can walk out and graze at any time of day and the food alone makes Hong Kong one of our top pics for places to visit if you’re a foodie! WHY WE LEFT HONG KONG Hong Kong has been the most unaffordable city in the world for the last 8 years and median real estate prices are almost 20x annual income which means for a family earning a 50,000 annual salary they would be paying almost a MILLION DOLLARS for a typical small apartment. It’s INSANELY EXPENSIVE! Since we wanted to start our own business to host travellers from around the world we quickly realised that we wouldn’t be able to afford to own our own place with the little bit of money we had saved up. At that point we decided to venture back to the states and see what other cities we could find that would give us a better chance of building our dream. We still love Hong Kong and we always want to have a connection to the city, but for now we’re very happy that we moved back to the US and we look forward to hopping back and forth between both places moving ahead.

PUNCH IN THE FACE: Motion Creates Emotion & Seed Grows Through Darkness To Light
In this episode, we've got a double dose of motivation for you! Watch the episode here QUOTE 1 "Motion creates emotion." - Tony Robbins (& Boiler Room) This has been a quote that inspired Alex since he heard it from Tony Robbins and saw it in the movie Boiler Room. QUOTE 2 "Life is like a seed. It needs to grow through the cold dark soil before it reaches the light." - Fiji McAlpine (Doyogawithme) This quote has inspired Jenny to keep going through the darkness, hoping that eventually, she will break through to the light. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened here in our place since our tarp is still covering our roof. Stay tuned to see what happens next! #Motivation #Monday #Inspiration

SIZE MATTERS? It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog!
Today Jenny shares the challenges she faces as an small, Asian, female in Germany and in Detroit. We also talk about how little dogs (and small people) can be more powerful. The bottom line is that size DOES matter because people will treat you differently if you're a different size. However, there are things you can do to make sure other people respect you even though you might be smaller. Watch the episode here "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog!" - Mark Twain Do you have a story of fighting back and cultivating your own power?
