WITAWITAG 6 - What That Trombone Do? (Video Game Music)
Jake and John are back after a week off, with some super well-researched, totally non-anecdotal reporting on some of their favorite video game soundtracks! John has an eyewitness account of the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra he needs to share with the world (it's him: John is the eyewitness), and Jake comes up with a game where he starts humming a song and John has to finish it. Play along at home! It's super duper easy, because even if you don't guess all the songs you'll still earn 1000 points for trying. Amazingly, there are no spoilers in this episode, unless you consider a hastily and poorly improvised bit about Kamoshida from Persona 5 a spoiler. Games and game soundtracks discussed: Kingdom Hearts, Halo, Persona 5, Fallout 4, Planet Coaster, Katamari Damacy, The Sims. Be sure to check out John's playlist full of delightful video game music that he called "Just Delightful Video Game Music" on Spotify.

WITAWITAG 5 - Indie Games to Make You Feel Something
Indie games: the fruit-flavored sparkling water of the video game world. Not everybody has acquired the taste for them; we constantly try to trick our friends into playing (drinking?) them; they make you feel nice and bubbly inside. Except for the sad ones... The sad ones, well... Jake and John spend the entire episode reviewing some of their favorite indie games! (Ok, also Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, which is definitely NOT indie, but kind of feels like it? Because almost nobody played it on Wii U? You dig?) Games discussed: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Crawl, Stardew Valley, The Stanley Parable, What Remains of Edith Finch, Flower. Other games peppered in there, for taste. The usual nonsense atomically spliced between the pepper molecules.

WITAWITAG 4 - Putt-Putt Applies for an Apartment
Hot ziggity, do we have an episode for you! Remember the edu-tainment games brought to your Windows '95 rig by the benevolent folks at Humongous Entertainment? We're talkin' Putt-Putt, Pajama Sam, Spy Fox, Freddi Fish and her pal Luther. Jake and John remember them, right down to the dulcet wurlitzer chords of Putt-Putt and Fatty Bear's Activity Pack. Also, Jake's cat has an agenda; John gushes about Disney's Toontown Online; somehow real-life escape room games come up. So grab your nosecones, kiddos, we're talking about kids computer games from the 90s!

WITAWITAG 3 - Turtleneck DDR Celebrity Pro-Am
Alternate episode title: "Put Your Hands Together For Danger Milk!!!!" You know, Danger Milk? Your favorite Dance Dance Revolution celebrity? You'd know him if you saw him. On this episode, Jake and John actually have almost informative things to say about virtual reality! What makes a VR experience good? What about bad VR experiences makes you want to hurl? They cover all two of those topics, pertaining to VR! Meowza! The conversation ultimately becomes an evaluation of unorthodox game interaction metaphors, touching on the Nintendo Labo and Wii, as well as, yes, DDR, and even your old pal, laser tag. It's a good one.

WITAWITAG 2 - Mario, Tennis Champion of the Universe
Sports. We don't get 'em, but we sure had a few things to say about video games based on them. Well, we had things to say about Test Drive 6, Diddy Kong Racing, and Mario Tennis. Indie game developers and the merits and drawbacks of modern 8-bit versus 3D graphics are discussed, and we tag-team tell a story about a friendly stranger who bought us a PS4. Jake delivers a hard-hitting explication on his favorite top-down shooter, Final Fantasy 7.

WITAWITAG 1 - Darkweb Pokemon Safari
Jake and John start a new podcast where they can talk about games. What that looks like is them trying to convince you the best time to take a nap is when your brother is quietly playing video games in the same room as you. Also, they ruin Yakuza, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Tamagotchi, Pokemon, and Sonic Adventure 2. At some point, That's So Raven makes an appearance, with special guest star Beans, from the Disney Channel sitcom Even Stevens.

PSA - Jabbertalky is rebranding!
Hi, friends! John here, back from the pocket dimension I disappear to when you aren't listening to my voice. Just wanted to give everybody a quick update on where Jabbertalky has been and where it's heading. In the past month, I've been taking time to focus on rebalancing my life. After mulling it over, I've decided to "end" Jabbertalky and rebrand it as a show where my brother and I can talk to you about our first great love: gaming. Video gaming, board gaming, card gaming; gaming news, gaming culture, deep dives into the murky depths of nostalgia. We love it all, and think that creating a show based out of that love will make for much more interesting, genuine conversation. I hope you'll stick around to hear what we have to say! (A lot of Jabbertalky episodes ended up being about video games anyway, so it might not be all that different a show.) Thank you so, so much to those of you who stuck with us while we learned to stand on our own in this crazy podcasting world. You're the friggin' best! Tune in to "What I Talk About When I Talk About Gaming," premiering very very soon.

Jabbertalky 8 - Greer Island Goat-man, Cerberus, Huldufólk
It's another folk lore-meets-urban legend-meets-Greek mythology episode, friends! It's also a pretty short episode, for us. We hope you won't mind. Aaron tells us a tiny baby bit about the Greer Island Goat Man, an urban legend from the Lone Star State. David documents the turbulent family tree of the mythical Cerberus. John shares stories about the huldufolk, Iceland's chaotic neutral hidden people.

Jabbertalky 7 - Rube Goldberg, Hibachi Chefs, Video Game Speedrunning
Do you ever find yourself thinking "Ok, just one more video?" Next thing you know, it's 3:07 AM, and you've watched 32 videos of people power washing driveways, fences, and priceless rugs? John, Jake, and Aaron sure do. On this episode, the boys discuss their research into their personal internet rabbit holes. John teaches us all about Rube Goldberg, creator of questionably titled cartoons; Aaron swallows the red pill and enters the clandestine world of hibachi chefs; Jake gives us the low-down on why he loves to watch video game speedrunners hone their craft.

Jabbertalky 6 - Ice Cream, Bees, Yodelling
John, Josh, and Jena planned this one out super carefully... Yup. So detailed. Without a plan, Jena ended up talking about her first great love: ice cream. Josh teaches us about the wonderful world of bees, and John yodels like Shakira. This is the one to share with your friends.

Jabbertalky 5 - The Witcher 3, Kingdom Hearts 3, Persona
Boy howdy, are we the biggest nerds. John, Jena, and David got together for a completely unscripted, hastily edited, full-fledged nerd episode, and decided to discuss video games and video games alone. Games discussed: The Witcher 3; Kingdom Hearts (all of them); Personas 3, 4, and 5; Catherine; What Remains of Edith Finch; probably others, I don't even remember all of them.

Jabbertalky 4 - Caesarland, Atlantis, and Flappy Bird
Somewhere out there, there are worlds where Little Caesar's didn't shut down every Caesarland, Atlantis never sank, and Dong Nguyen didn't feel morally responsible for Flappy Bird players breaking their cellphones. This is not that world. John, Josh, and Jena do their best to bring you reports on these titans of the past, as well as introduce a new segment to the show. It doesn't have a name yet, but it's probably going to end up being called the Five Minute Tunnel of Love.

Jabbertalky 3 - SpongeBob SquarePants, Paper Mario, and Star Wars
Sound issues can't keep us down. John kicks off the episode reporting about his lifetime hero and personal role model, Mr. SpongeRobert SquarePants. Jena sings the praises of Paper Mario and his posse of paper crimefighter friends. Josh knows everything about Star Wars, but John and Jena keep him limited to Episode 4, or whatever the hell George Lucas is calling it these days.

Jabbertalky 2 - Zildjian, Chef Boyardee, and Nintendo
The gang tackles the first in what will probably become a series of brand origin stories. Josh reports on the alchemical origins of Zildjian cymbals, and their wartime applications, and John chronicles the rise of Chef Ettore Boyardee, benevolent ruler of the pasta-verse. David tries to talk about the origins of Nintendo, but the discussion quickly zags into Pokemon territory, prompting a lot of really sloppy edits in effort to protect the sanity of you, the listener. It's anyone's guess, as to how factual any of this is. Our Twitter page is live, and very basic. Get in on the follow action early, and watch us grow: @JabbertalkyPod

Jabbertalky 1 - Lizard People, Jersey Devils, and Wendigos
You found the first episode! Great job, and thanks for listening! On this episode, John, David, and Josh talk about urban legends, folklore, and myths. John exposes the secrets of the lizard people, and recounts a time somebody maybe saw Justin Bieber transform into one of them. David reports on the cannibalistic origins of wendigos. Josh teaches us about the Jersey Devil, which is probably real. There is only one microphone. The sound quality isn't anything special, but the show is terrific. Jabbertalky.
