BRA_031 Mark Stiving - Let's Talk Pricing!
We all have pricing issues.  We know we’re not charging the best price, but we don’t know what to do about it.  We don’t even know how to think about it.  Listen to our annual pricing show with Mark Stiving, Ph.D. where he dives into the pricing issues of a few small businesses.  You’re sure to get a pointer or two for your business.   Mark loves pricing. As a child, he often wondered why companies always used 99 cent price endings, asking himself this question: “Do companies think we’re stupid?” He had a chance to study this question during his doctoral program at the University of California at Berkeley and hasn’t looked back since. As an instructor for Pragmatic Marketing, Mark teaches companies and students around the world how to build, market and price products that people are excited to buy. As he says, “My biggest thrill is watching people experience the aha! moments.” In his “free time,” Mark writes about pricing. He shares his expertise in the highly readable book, Impact Pricing: Your Blueprint to Driving Profits, which has received a five-star rating on Amazon. He also publishes his always-popular blog, PragmaticPricing.com. BRA_017 Shanny Ronald - Love or Fear: Which One Will I Choose?
Shannon Harder Ronald, and as her friends call her, Shanny, has had a variety of life experiences; from growing up on a cattle ranch, to living above the Arctic Circle with the Inuit people, to spending a week with Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, to having her own business as a Life Coach and Professional Organizer.  Shanny is passionate about having a full, amazing life, and she loves to assist her clients to achieve the same desire.   By Shanny’s own account she has only had one job, and that was when she worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken when she was 14 years old.  All the rest of her professional life have encompassed her passions, her vocations.  She has had the opportunity and at the same time she has worked hard to set up work and business situations that are in alignment with what she values and what bring meaning to her life.   Shanny was an Executive Director of a non-profit organization which provided homes and work for people with developmental disabilities.  This was a situation that was very challenging because of the complexity of all that it entailed.  She cut her “professional teeth” at an early age in an organization that was complex to lead, and at the same time very stimulating and nourishing.  During her tenure as Executive Director she received her Masters in Not-For-Profit Leadership.   Entrepreneur was on Shanny’s 6th grade spelling list.  This word jumped off the page and ignited a vision and a desire in her heart to be an entrepreneur.  It was intimidating to think how that would come to be since at that time she lived outside a small hamlet of about 10 houses and hadn’t seen much of the world.  Fast forward, Shanny eventually started Empowering Life, a Professional Organizer business.  This was back at a time when people would ask her if that meant she was a community organizer.  She then expanded her business to Life Coaching in the early years of the coaching profession.  And the next evolution of her business included providing financial services in people’s homes, before Daily Money Manager become a common term.  For Shanny, entrepreneurship for her means allowing your creativity and courageous to come alive as you follow your ideas and inspirations.
