I talk a little this week about libertarian anarchy, voluntaryism, and how/why I believe it is a moral, even if not practical, position. 

Rex Tillerson was fired as Secretary of State and the hypocrisy from the Democrats is an obvious example of Team Red vs Team Blue. But not to be outdone, Republicans are ready to give Donald Trump a Nobel Peace Prize for wanting to meeting with Kim Jong Un. Both sides are hypocrites again. Also, the resistance is a joke! What happened to the left? What happened to counter culture?

The Stormy Daniels story is a great example of Team Red vs Team Blue and why this entire left/right, red/blue experiment has failed. Also, an orangutan in Indonesia smokes a cig and people went nuts.

The Oscars were on Sunday and the ratings are way down from last year. Trump wants to take your guns, seriously! It's Republican hypocrisy week and Trump says he wants to take the guns first, then worry about due process. Dick's isn't selling guns to people under 21. SDSU has a class about impeachment. And Google doesn't want you to buy guns.

The New York Times published an article suggesting it's time to ban porn. Should we ban anything, and how should a libertarian deal with destructive or immoral actions? I also talk a little gun control again, and a little about the Manafort charges.

Indictments came out this week in the Russia investigation. Is this the tip of the iceberg? Or more of the same hysteria over nothing? I also talk a lot about guns and gun control in the wake of the Florida school shooting. Is more gun control really the answer? Is there a real solution? For that matter, do we think these politicians really want or care about gun control? And what’s the practicality of a gun ban or repealing the Second Amendment?

I talk a little about the Super Bowl and the commercials. After a small studio disaster, this episode focuses on a recent appearance by the Weinstein brothers on The Rubin Report. Bret Weinstein mentioned Arnold Kling's book, The Three Languages of Politics, and explained that libertarianism alone isn't society's answer. I'm a fan of the Weinstein brothers, but in this case, I think Bret Weinstein was wrong about libertarianism.

The Nunes Memo is out. What's it say? And why is it important? Also, Amazon wants to know when you're going to the bathroom ... well, not really, but almost.

Hillary, The Grammys and The State of the Union Address. A little on the War of Terror and why is everything still just Team Red vs Team Blue? Also, I talk about Joy Reid and her problem with the "terms of a bygone era." Finally, a new segment I think we're calling the "Rant of the Week."

Conan O'Brien has taken to blasting Trump and is talking about how difficult comedy is in the age of Trump. Is it really the age of Trump, or is it just late night comedy that is the problem. All the this anti-Trump media may very well be just the public getting played because Trump won't play the game though. Pluto is a planet again. And another cop shoots someone story. What does a government shutdown actually mean? Is anything really different? Also, Trump year one is in the books. how successful or unsuccessful has it been? Is Trump really a libertarian as some suggest? Or is he just a pop culture president.

The outrage machine is in full force over Trump's latest comments about sh*thole countries. Seattle implemented the soda tax and people are upset that prices for drinks have almost doubled. The Golden Globes were this week and the big story is Oprah 2020. Will she run? Should we care? Trump appears ready to make a deal to build his wall. And the House renewed a section of the FISA Act that allows spying on foreign citizens.

I had a conversation at work with a guy about Jeff Sessions going after legalized weed, and that bleed into talking about private prisons and corporate donations. Bernie says millionaires want to pay more taxes. And a recent Twitter conversation made me think what a police state might look like.

My buddy Jonesy is in town and we sat down to talk faith, Christianity, megachurches, and the evangelical impact on politics. Jonesy recently worked for megachurch and we discuss things like church small groups, worship services and what faith and Christianity looks like. We also spend some time talking about the evangelical reaction to Trump, and we revisit why so many evangelicals went for Trump in '16.

I hung out with Reuben from Pop Goulash and we talked about everything from good beer to The Smithereens to the GOP tax plan to Star Wars to the UFC to whatever else came to mind.
