Black & Depressed: How Years of Anti-Blackness Has Affected Our Mental Health (Featuring Kina Reed)
This week I am talking to Community Advocate, Social Media Creator, and Podcaster...Kina Reed. Joquina Reed is a JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) practitioner and owner of J Reed Consulting LLC, a business equipping people, places, and organizations with tools to identify and amplify the needs of the least protected and to create opportunities to enlarge a mutual vision of shared humanity. Kina and I discuss the unique experience of being black and depressed in the United States. Years of oppression, racism, exclusion, torture, and of course slavery has created a distinctive mental health experience different from any other race or nationality. Kina and I get into how we got here, our mental health states, and how we can cope (individually and collectively) We also discuss how Kina has hated on me over the years. *shrug* Plus KIna and I tell you what IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME to do break this generational curse. All of this and so much more...It's About DAMN Time!
