Deuteronomy Chapter 4 – 5 Moses while recalling his versions of events takes pride in the murder of women and children for material gain and is told he cannot enter the promised land. Moses keeps asking God to let him visit all that he has worked for but is instructed to not ask permission any more. God instructs Moses to walk his ass to the top of a mountain to view the promised from there but never to enter. Joshua is to be put in charge to take the inheritance, inheritance meaning plunder.
