This Congressional Update provides details about important new news from the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. Finally, Congress is moving forward will action that will reign in the Communist Chinese Party's (CCP) efforts to take over key industries in America.   This week's U.S. Senate Update - The U.S. Senate has bi-partisan concerns about hundreds of billions  (hundreds of billions) of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) money flowing into American stock exchanges. This money is unregulated and the CCP has refused to provide audit details since 2000. American companies are in no way allowed to do this. The Senate passed a bipartisan bill that would require all CCP and mainland Chinese companies (the CCP controls ALL mainland Chinese companies) to follow the rules and laws that U.S. companies are required by law to follow. The same bill has been included in a bill introduced by Democrats to the House.    Bi-partisan...such nice words. Hopefully, this bill will pass in the Senate. I have a simple question - How have past administrations and Congress allowed the CCP Chinese companies get away with this up until now (assuming the bill passes in the House)? Politicians act like this is all new, news. Not so. They have all been up in the necks in this situation since 2000.  This week House of Representatives Update - A bill was presented to the House by Rep. Doug Collins (R) titled the COVID-19 Accountability Act. The bill is co-sponsored by over 30 Senators. All Republican.   This bill puts certain restrictions on what can be purchased for the national stockpile and other key components to holding the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) accountable. I will discuss this bill and the good and the bad. 

In 1993 the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) inaugurated an exclusive key club, pairing the biggest Overseas Chinese tycoons with firms owned by the CCP. Called the New China Hong Kong Group, it was the first officially sanctioned club for Overseas Chinese investors committed to investing billions in the Mainland.  The combination of the Overseas Chinese and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is together building China's economy while leading the way in investing over 1 trillion dollars in key U.S. companies (about the same size as Russia's entire economy). Both the College Republican National Committee and the College Democrats of America signed an open letter demanding the closure of Confucius Institutes that are stationed at U.S. college campuses across the country.These organizations correctly state that Confucius Institute is a vehicle for promoting Chinese culture and language worldwide, with academic style courses and teachers, that share information about contemporary China.The letter also correctly claims Communist China is funding the institutes to enact coercive  measures within American colleges and universities and brands them a threat to educational freedom."The Chinese government’s flagrant attempts to coerce and control discourse at universities in the United States and around the world pose an existential threat to academic freedom as we know it," the message states. "It is a civic and moral imperative that we protect that freedom.""It has manipulated the world’s multilateral institutions in times of crisis, it has compromised our entertainment, news, and business communities, and it is committing crimes against humanity against Tibetans and Uyghurs," the statement states. The letter also correctly claims that Confucius Institutes are outlets designed to exert political power and influence on U.S. soil while remaining disguised as educational hubs. It also levied correct accusations of censorship and intimidation. In addition to pressuring Chinese students to do the bidding of state, it said the institutes embrace self-censorship on topics "sensitive" to the Chinese Communist Party.

We will be looking at how the CCP has managed to take control of hundreds of billions of dollars and counting of U.S. businesses, some that have national security implications with the help of retired members of Congress including former Republican House Speaker John Boehner.  Why do retired members of Congress, Presidential advisors, and other government officials want to represent the Chinese Communist Party interests in DC? We will take a look. “Nobody in the 1980s would have represented the Russian government. And now you find so many lobbying for the Chinese government,” said Frank Wolf, a retired U.S. representative from Virginia who long served as the co-chairman of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission. “I served in Congress for 34 years. I find it shocking.”

Amazon, Microsoft, and Google and only three of many American companies that are providing various web services to Chinese firms accused of human rights abuses. These Chinese companies that these tech giants have nestled up with are also on the US blacklist of companies American companies are not supposed to be doing business with because of national security concerns. Let Us not forget Intel and Apple - They are in Love with the Chinese Communist Party Companies like Intel remain, big backers of the CCP’s tech industry, because they rely on China for significant contributions of revenue, production chains, and brainpower. Intel made 27% of its revenue in China in 2018, more than in America or any other market. Like many American companies, Intel is walking a very fine line. A spokesperson for Intel said it had no intention of pulling out of China. Intel is not alone. Apple is heavily invested with the CCP not only for the manufacturer of Mac computers and iPhones but its also a major consumer market, accounting for 20% of Apples sales. Money and power.
