"Engineer" Rob and Engineer "Dan" explain why you're not hearing a new episode tonight (it's because we're moving!).

This week we're joined by Frank Gibson, creator of Muscle Temple and co-creator of the @beckyandfrank twitter account, to talk about the hot mess that is WWE Superstars #1. 

A rich adult orphan with an enflamed sense of justice. A circus boy who's part of a nuclear family of acrobats. A scrupulous circus owner who's just trying to do the right thing. It's a story old as time, passed down through the generations. Though the names and details may change, the archetypes remain consistent. The iteration of this tale that we're discussing is one which appears in Detective Comics #38. Our adult orphan: Bruce Wayne, AKA Batman. Our circus boy: Dick Grayson, otherwise known as Robin the Boy Wonder. The scrupulous circus owner: Mister Haley, who's mostly just a plot device. On this week's Introducing...The First Appearance Podcast, we start off with a discussion of the pilot for CBS's Supergirl. After it's decided that Supergirl is either a good TV show or a bad TV show, depending on who you ask, we delve into an old issue of Action Comics to see how Supergirl first got her start. Incidentally, we're also lucky enough to watch Superman thwart a villain by essentially hiding his heart medicine. Dragonball Z comes up at one point, too.

You may know Swamp Thing as a DC Comics swamp monster with a tragic origin story, but we know him better as the entry point for a conversation about such big topics as the afterlife and full frontal male nudity. Mark, Jack, and Rob headed up to New York for day three of New York City Comic Con, and Jack logged what he considers to be one of his happiest moments. Mark gets into his approach for talking to talent at Artists' Alley, and apparently there was a guy with a big dick dressed like a Care Bear.

Hal Jordan, the man without fear or workplace boundaries, becomes the Green Lantern and sports a suit of a suspiciously familiar color. Jack also sings the Australian national anthem.

We're closing out X-Month with a brotherhood of baddies. Toad, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Mastermind--who along with Magneto are collectively known as the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants--all make their first appearance in Uncanny X-Men #4. Also in this issue: Magneto goes insane because he thinks a seagull is trying attack his war ship. How many bombs will he make as a result? Tune in to find out!
