Episode 91 - Creating the Next Best Leaders Through Resilience
How many times have you been discouraged by poor leadership - above you, around you, in your organization or community? On tv? It affects the culture of the organization (no matter the size) and impacts the motivation of the entire team. When it affects YOU, personally, impacting your ability to do your work well, with joy, a sense of satisfaction or at least not hate it, the issue looms larger than life. The question is, what can you DO about it? Cultivate RESILIENCE.  Topics discussed in this episode: Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, or toughness, and involves three things.  Character - I build this up by doing what I say I'll do, even if it's hard. Consistency - I do small things aligned with my "why" that make big changes possible. Focus - knowing where I'm headed reduces my distractions, so I keep my eye on the prize. You can begin right now.  Become an Intentional Optimist! All my links 30 Minute Free Consultation Leave a rating and review! Apple: just scroll to the bottom, choose a rating and write a review. Episode 75 - Three Insights on Being Present
Two and a half years after my very first post on “Being Present,” I’ve learned a few things. Practicing Presence is not yet something I’ve mastered, and based on what I see out there, we all need a refresher. So here are my takeaways. Three Insights on “Being Present”:  Everyone’s Present is unique.  Without curiosity, you’ll never get “there.” If being “present” doesn’t produce kindness in you, then you’re doing it wrong. So what should we do? Unique: One size doesn’t fit all. Do your own work.   Curiosity: Get curious about you. When you don’t like something, ask “why?” and wait… Kindness: It’s the byproduct of presence.  Become an Intentional Optimist!Newsletter:  Optimistic LivingDaily Sharecast (1 min videos):Intentional Optimism Sharecast on Marco PoloCollaborative Group Coaching Community: Launch From The BeachEmail me at andrea@theintentionaloptimist.comJoin me over in the Intentional Optimists Facebook GroupFollow on Instagram @theintentionaloptimistLinkedIn Andrea Johnson Grab your FREEAndrea's Favorite Planning & Productivity tools“Ultimate DISC communication Cheat Sheet” Need some tools?Mini Course: “Uncovering Your Core Values” Try New Things - 30 Day ChallengeDISC Assessment, 10% discount (code "PODCAST") Noom: A Mindful Way to Eat Learn how to intentionally challenge your mindset in order to take control of your health.
