On June 16th, Amazon ($AMZN) announced its intention to acquire Whole Foods Market ($WFM) for approximately $14B. Large supermarket stocks crashed on the news. Google's recent developers conference was chock full of highlights. As usual, Google continues to innovate across virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and new consumer devices. We followed the keynotes closely and were struck by their Google Lens announcement and its potential to extend its utility into incumbent industries, not only consumers. In our opinion, this one of the most interesting extensions of their core business. Could even be transformational .
