Well here we are. The end of the road so to speak. The end of a long road both physically and musically. The countdown I started on December 26th, 2017. But more so a collection of music I started almost a decade ago…… The irony of this post and this podcast is I have spent the past few days in Venice Beach, I haven’t been there since 2019. I rolled in and had a chance to catch up with some friends. They saw my Connecticut license plate and said “You have arrived”. It has been a very emotional week for me. So as I begin to look for a place to live, I have pondered wether or not this podcast will continue. I also realized my radio career has come to a conclusion…… I am a Californian. I am home……… I want to thank all of you, for every fucking thing!!!!! Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for listening. Thank you for being YOU!!!!!! Thank you to all the people who let me be SDUB in radio. Thank you to all in my D.O.T. life for letting me be that lunatic. Thank you all for making Stephen Wayne. Hello to you all from the golden state of California!!!!!! Home at last!!!!!!! I will let you in on a little secret. The last few weeks in the state of Connecticut produced the next few IWMWSWAF you are about to enjoy. I promised myself that I would share some thought’s and of course music of my beautiful California. Some of you may not agree with statement, but when you’ve been planning this as long as I have, shit, you just need to fucking go through with it……. I have collected thousands of songs about California for over a decade (Since my very first visit!!!!!!). And began to think that maybe I would share some of them with you. We revisit some of the special features we created during our terrestrial radio daze, Maynard Jesus Keenan, We Convene The World Wide Chapter Of The Black Label Society, Time For DIME and Vincenzo, The WM Reel Live One, The WM Coroner Classic, WM’s Hit Or Shit, The WM Chunk O Punk, and The WM Cover Up (or The WM Under The Covers). All of these players from the past and the present get a little play during this episode. Buckethead gets a little spotlight, with a little help fro Serj. Studio Guy, whom was our announcer then and now. And of course a High Five From The Hive, that is articulate and concise from all three of the hive inhabitants. This is special and very sentimental to me. As I listen to this I think a few things. I’m old. I am one lucky motherfucker. I have had a blessed life and career. I’m old. I can’t believe some of the amazing things I have accomplished in radio. I’m old. I have met and had a chance to interview almost all the artists I have Idolized, ever since I was a kid. I’m old. And not only chatting with some of my idols, but newer bands I have really loved and helped forge their careers. I’m old.
