Sameer Dholakia discusses triggered emails, push notices and SMS messages
SendGrid CEO Sameer talks with Harry Hawk about marketers sending triggered messages through multiple often simultaneous channels.  "Senders can easily design any workflow based on the user behaviors that are most relevant for their business and customers."   Email is not the only way to reach a consumers, and today it also isn't always the best way. Password resets, second level authentications, along with order and delivery confirmations are just four examples of critical messages that are often best send through in-app notification or via SMS, or in combination with email.   Triggered email is one of the most powerful ways companies can meaningfully engage with their customers and drive marketing ROI. For many marketers, existing triggered email tools are prohibitively complex, expensive, and demanding of developer time. The Threads service from SendGrid allows marketers to enable multiple triggered notifications that were once the exclusive domain of programmers and developers.     Learn more about Treads.   Sameer Dholakia bio: Sameer Dholakia has nearly 20 years of experience in successfully bringing high growth, disruptive cloud and enterprise software solutions to market. Prior to joining SendGrid, he served as Group Vice President and General Manager of the Cloud Platforms group at Citrix, driving the company’s product strategy for cloud infrastructure and server virtualization.   Sameer joined the company in 2010, when Citrix acquired VMLogix, where he served as CEO and doubled revenues during each year of his tenure. Prior to that, he worked for 12 years at Trilogy, where he held key leadership roles in sales, business development and product management and helped the company grow from a start-up to a $300 million business. Sameer received Bachelor’s and Master's degrees from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.   SendGrid company profile: SendGrid is the leading email delivery platform for email that matters. SendGrid's proven, cloud-based email platform successfully delivers over 20B customer engagement email

How to share and discover audio with CLAMMR
If sharing audio is hard, that also means discovery of audio is a hard problem as well. Since Google doesn't index audio, it is even harder.  Since audio is linear users have a hard time jumping from one part of an audio program to another, which also makes sharing hard. CLAMMR attempts to solve that problem by making audio snippets each to share. If they are easy to share, they maybe also easier to discover. With the addition of playlists it's possible to chain together a few audio nuggets that really align with your key personas.

Lloyd used Sidekick from HubSpot to help find speakers for his startup oriented conference. Once he secured enough speakers, he used their "brand" power to sell out the conference 45 days early. Lloyd used very careful and focused email outreach. He didn't use any form letters, but he also kept each hand crafted email short and easy to read. They were also really well researched. Emails dripped out informing the recipients of his progress. The first Traction Conference took place in Vancouver in June (2015). The 2nd conference will take place Oct 8th, 2015 in San Francisco. How Modals Increased Conversions 700% with Dan Slagen of Crayon.co
Dan Slagen the VP of Marketing at Crayon.co talks with Harry Hawk about requiring users to sign up to use Crayon.co. Although always free to use and still free, the testing implemented by Dan and his team required the submission of an email address. Additional testing included verification of the email and the use of pop-up modals to "drive" increased uptake.   Users, engineers and even marketers at times can shy away from the use of popup modals, and gating access to a site but requiring an email is a small price compared to a paywall. Dan was able to increase conversions 700% and more importantly once Crayon.co started to aquire email addresses, they were able to engage the users around new features and funcationality. That was one of the best aspects of the test --> being able to communicate directly with the users of the site.
