Episode 12: A Time to Heal an interview With Jennifer Nix
I'm sure we all imagined meeting the love of your life in our 20s and building a life together filled with memorable moments over the course of decades together.  For Jennifer Nix, that dream would be deferred when she became a widow after just a few years being married to her college sweetheart.  Through her testimony she shares the importance of: Soul Care - taking time to address the wounds of our souls even when it fees like we should be caring for those around us. Community Matters - healing cannot be done in isolation. We need each other and the help of training professionals that lead us in the way of the Master.  God is at work especially when it hurts, but the word of God tells us that He is close to the brokenhearted. In his closeness he not only reveals things to us, but also comforts us like no one else can. Is it your time to heal? Check out the resources below to find the  support you need close to home: Find a Counselor: Biblical Counseling  Faithful Counseling Locate a GriefShare community : https://www.griefshare.org/findagroup I'll be back in 2 weeks with another episode!  In the Meantime: Swing by our new site and subscribe to our mailing list Leave a rating that others can find our show, just click the "Reviews" tab Get you some Merch  Remember that we are living for the King and not the Ring. Episode 3: How I Became The Seasoned Single
I’ve gotten used to being asked the standard questions when meeting people: are you married, do you have kids? But there’s  one question that gets up under my skin. It actually comes across as a backhanded compliment, but I had to stop and investigate why it impacted me this way.  There is nothing that irritates me more,  than when someone makes assumptions about who I am and my motives behind my relationship status. so, instead of getting caught up in my feelings and allowing my flesh to prevail, i had to step back, take a deep breath and think.... Join host Angela Hines as she details how she became the seasoned single.  Want to keep the conversation going? Episode 9: 5 Decisions to Make to in order to be a Good Steward
In an Article on Marriage Today entitled “Ten Marriage Decisions to Make Today”, Pastor Jimmie Evans  writes “Did you know 86 percent of divorces are the result of what researchers call “non-severe circumstances”? That means the marriage-ending circumstances are not related to severe problems like abuse, abandonment or adultery. Instead, they are because of fights about money, kids, sex and other emotional issues. These are emotional decisions. They happen in the heat of the moment.” Then he asks this powerful question:  So, how can you keep emotions from impacting the health of your marriage?  While we are not married, the way we steward our single season impacts not only our romantic lives,  but our life in eternity! Join host, Angela Hines as we discuss the first of 5 Decisions that must be made when choosing to steward this season well!  Let's keep the discussion going on Instagram (@theseasonedsingle) and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TheSeasonedSingle/ and join our mailing list to stay up to date with all of our news and events at www.theseasonedsingle.com.   Questions? email us at info@theseasonedsingle.com

Episode 1: Who Is The Seasoned Single?
I’m often asked, what makes a single seasoned? You  are not a Seasoned Single just because you happen to be old and single.  And  Contrary to popular belief we are not seasoned b/c we are salty that we’re not married yet. It’s so much more than that.    According to the Oxford Dictionary, Seasoned is defined as "having a lot of experience doing something, therefore, knowing how to do it well." When I took at these identifying marks, I think of many faithful women and men in the church I grew up in who served God so faithfully in spite of being single. I’ve identified  4 Marks of a Seasoned Single that i want to share with you so that we can take our , so let’s dive in!
