Grant's Rant: 4-22-21 LeBron James as judge and jury?
50 million followers and fans.  His words matter.  Yet LA Lakers, LeBron James has decided to address a situation that has yet to be investigated and post his opinion of an expected outcome in a police shooting of a young black woman in Columbus, Ohio.  Today's rant is not about the specific issue of the shooting.  It's about the lack of voices coming out about LeBron's comments.  I've said it before and I'm going to say it again, quoting Dr. Martin Luther King.  "Our lives begin to end, the day we remain silent about things that matter."  Where are the voices of reason suggesting to wait?  Steve Kerr, Greg Popovich, Stan Van Gundy have all been vocal about social issues. Crickets.  Where is the NBA?  Silence. Isn't this irresponsible on LeBron's part?  No backlash for LeBron's comments?  What if a popular columnist or TV/Radio show host were to do something similar with far fewer fans? Do you think this is OK?

Grant's Rant: 4-21-21 The bizarre sideshow of Deshaun Watson.
You would think a guy facing some serious allegations that could threaten his livelihood would want to lay a little low for a while to let things settle.  But not Deshaun Watson, no siree.  He's getting photographed with his girlfriend on a jet ski while she's flipping the cameras off with the "double bird".  Cute.  Crazy.  Confusing.  What am I missing here?

Grant's Rant: 4-20-21 What do I think about the NY Yankees?
This fires me up.  How can they be so bad?  How does Brian Cashman still have a job?  Virtually unlimited resources and they still haven't won a championship since 2009.  What's that tell you?  If Steinbrenner were alive he would have fired Cashman 5 times by now.  I can't even watch them on TV any more.  What do you think???

Grant's Rant: 4-19-21 Hey coach, I'm sore. Gonna sit this game out.
So the Utah Jazz decide to rest Mike Conley and Derrick Favors over the weekend because of knee soreness.  That's right.  Sore.  Not injured, not hurt.  Sore.  And guess what?  They lose to the Lakers.  What is happening to our professional athletes and them sitting it out due to soreness?  You think hockey players get sore and still play?  How about football players?  This is making me crazy.  Here why in today's rant.

Episode 56: Will Clark talks players, coaching and batting success.
You're going to love today's podcast if you're a baseball fan in any way, shape or form.  Former SF Giants first baseman, Will Clark is going to give you a great view from a veteran player who played for the love of the game.  Our candid discussion weaves around coaching, money, players and today's game.  You'll be surprised at some of his comments about contemporary players and you'll appreciate some of the batting tips he shares.  This is one of the most informative podcasts I've done as Will even taught me a few things I didn't know.  You're going to enjoy the discussion.

Grant's Rant: 4-16-21 The NBA's embarrassment is, once again, the Sacramento Kings.
Another year down the tubes.  Same ol' song and dance.  I'm hearing from fans that the team has given up on Walton and his coaching staff.  Sounds oh, so familiar.  If you're a Kings fan, you know the drill.  Current season sucks, look ahead to next year and hope for a good ping pong ball drop in the draft and then rebuild.  But it's really getting old hearing it now for so many years.  Every year past was the year it was going to change.  Dysfunctional. Embarrassing. But the Kings are not without talent, there are no excuses.  Let's call it the "Kings Curse".  Fans deserve better in Sacramento and at some point soon, they had better get what they deserve.  Agree, disagree?  Reach out to me on YouTube or Twitter and let's talk about it.  I'd love to hear what you've got to say.

Grant's Rant: 4-15-21 Does Rick Carlisle owe the Atlanta Hawk's an apology?
What do you think?  So Lloyd Pierce goes away, Carlisle rips the Hawks front office calling them "insane" and the Hawks go on to a 16-5 run under Nate McMillan.  Hmmm.  And they do it with the help of that guy the Sacramento Kings decided to let go, never really got the most out of, Bogdan Bogdanovic.  Makes you scratch your head there too.  Hear what "Bogey" is doing for Atlanta in today's podcast and yeah, I think Carlisle owes somebody an apology.

Grant's Rant: 4-14-21 Luka Doncic doesn't quite seem to understand the playoff play-in format.
Poor baby.  He doesn't understand why the NBA would make a playoff format that could mean two and through.  He maybe doesn't notice there are no fans in the stadiums.  He may be just so focused on his game that he can't comprehend that the league has likely lost it's butt this year and this is a way to get some revenue toward the gap.  Enter Mark Cuban to the rescue.  Now he doesn't like the play-in format either.  Thinks it was a big mistake.  Could it be because his team is in 7th place right now???  Let's talk a little about the process in today's rant.

Grant's Rant: 4-13-21 What is wrong with Kyrie Irving now?
Here we go again.  Kyrie Irving has decided he needs another day off for personal reasons unbeknownst to us...or anyone for that matter that we know of.  How long must this charade continue? What do the Brooklyn Nets do in a playoff situation when Kyrie is going to be so valuable on the floor?  Let's talk about this and more in today's rant.

Episode 55: The "Double Standards" in professional sports are becoming a regular occurrence. .
So it's not enough for calls to go one way some of the time and that same play get a different call another time.  Or that same infraction or that same use of a word, or a slur or a racist comment.  On the Master's this weekend, just the sheer fact that it's being played in Georgia after Major League Baseball pulled its' All Star game from Atlanta is a double standard as golf turns its' head the other way.  Or is it MLB that turned its' head from the fans and businesses in Atlanta?  How about all the comments referencing Tiger Woods during and after the Masters and his situation with the accident?  Think it would have been any different if that were you or me?  You know it would have been.  How about Kevin Durant's comments on social media and his responses?  Or Kyrie Irving just choosing to not show up with no consequences?  I'm also going to touch on the advantages of anonymity that I've been fortunate enough to experience and why I think there's value in that sometimes.  Hear all this, plus your questions to me in the crowd questions Q&A.  You'll leave with some things to think about today. Spring has sprung. That means you want things fresh as a daisy. You know where I'm suggesting. Right? Down there.  Here's what you need to do to keep that raging bush under control and not blooming all over the place.  Not to mention smelling springtime clean.  Check out your personal grooming products from Manscaped.  You're going to love their stuff.  You'll also love the deal when you type in NAPES in the discount code and get free shipping plus a  20% discount! Grant's Rant: 4-12-21 Major League Baseball's bash the replay... all over again.
Here we go again with a major league sport bashing their own system because they don't like it.  All the complaining and moaning about the MLB baseball replay being used, not being used, liking it, hating it. Nothing is perfect.  Not the players, not the umpires and not the replay system.  So if you're going to call it out and rip it because you don't like it, you better be prepared for the alternative. You cannot have it both ways.  I, for one, say we go back to no replays and let players be players and umpires be umpires.  What do you think?

Episode 54: Gary Gerould, 36 years as the voice of the Sacramento Kings, shares some history.
Gary Gerould, the G man.  The voice of the Sacramento Kings.  80 years old and he's still going strong.  He's done motorsports, the Olympics, local sportscaster, and the NBA.  His stories and history with the team are invaluable.  His familiarity with the league, the players, the coaches and the community show his professionalism and his humility.  He's an icon in the market, well loved and respected for all he does.  He talks motorsports and the great drivers he's had association with.  Mario Andretti, AJ Foyt and others. This is a conversation you'll not want to miss as Gary takes us places many will never be able to even comprehend in one lifetime. Grant's Rant: 4-9-21 How many masseuses does Deshaun Watson need?
One masseuse, two masseuse, three masseuse, four. Keep losin' sponsors and you're going to have no more.  Deshaun Watson in  the news  again as his sponsors are putting him on hold.  I'll keep his comments of innocent until proven guilty for now but somebody is lyin' here and really now, how many masseuses does one guy need?  This could end very ugly if there's truth to the stories and there seem to be enough to be causing some doubt in what Deshaun has been saying.  Hear who has put him on hold in today's podcast.

Grant's rant: 4-8-21 Are we too quick to judge and can we not accept apologies?
Dusty Baker referenced an old quote on those who are too quick to judge.  If you live in a glass house, you had better not throw stones.  How many people today judge first and then act like it's no big deal.  After the judgement has been passed?  Yeah, this one irritates me for oh so many reasons but let's just stop this nonsense and really try to understand the situation.  Carlton Davis and Meyers Leonard both used derogatory ethnic slurs.  Did the know the nature and severity of what they said?  Maybe not and I'll tell you why in today's podcast.

Grant's Rant: 4-7-21 Major League Baseball's Rob Manfred's hypocrisy and hurt.
So Manfred, Major League Baseball's commissioner jumps on the political bandwagon and yanks the All-Star game from Atlanta Georgia in an effort to make a statement about the new voting law that was passed into legislation.  Hear what Marco Rubio has to say about it, the hundreds of small and minority owned businesses that are going to be hurt by the loss of the $100 million dollars that come to town as a result of the game and the biggest kicker of all, a particular membership held by Manfred that I'll share in today's podcast.  You'll want to check it out.

Episode 53: UCLA vs Gonzaga, Sacramento Kings as a team and the double standard in consequences for ignorance and stupidity.
Yeah, I need to get a few things off my chest so let's talk about them.  Saturday, we saw the epitome of college basketball between Gonzaga and UCLA.  Now that was basketball as it was meant to be played.  Oh boy!  Then I had to suffer through the Sacramento Kings performances the last two games vs the Lakers and the Bucks.  Oh my.  They are just plain and simple, not a good team.  Sorry Kings fans. It's not there this year, last year or the last 10 years.  Give up on the playoffs again.  And I would be remiss if I didn't touch on the double standards we're seeing when big name players do stupid things on social media attacking race or ethnicity vs lesser know players doing something equally as egregious.  C'mon league leadership, get your acts together and be consistent in your consequences.  This is ridiculous to see.  The silence is deafening when the action is slow to come. Let's have these conversations and I would love to hear from you on any of my opinions.  That's the beauty and the fun of our dialogue.  Please be sure to reach out and let me know what's on your mind.

Grant's Rant: 4-6-21 Tampa Bay Buccaneers DB Carlton Davis Offensive Tweet.
Here we go again. Another player making a stupid move and trying to cover it up hoping there is no backlash.  What's worse is Carlton Davis insults the Asian community, deletes the tweet and then tries to cover it up with some BS that he didn't know what he said was offensive to Asians. Really?  And the consequence from the NFL leadership?  What?  Nothing yet? a. How stupid can one be to think there's nothing to an ethnic slur?b. How serious is league leadership when they take days to recognize the offense, if at all?I really don't get all this apparent inconsistency within  when it comes to what is and is not acceptable in the leagues. Do you?

Grant's Rant: 4-5-21 The Jekyll and Hyde Sacramento Kings aren't going anywhere until they figure out consistency.
De'Aaron Fox has a good game, the Kings tend to win, he has a bad game, they tend to lose.  Where's everybody else?  Yeah, De'Aaron is good but he's going to have off nights.  They lose to a battered Los Angeles Lakers team by a bunch, then almost win against the Milwaukee Bucks coming within one point of a victory.  Win five in a row and then start the losing streak.  What is going on?  This isn't new.  Look at the last couple of years.  Chances of making it to the playoffs?  I'll tell you in the 'cast today.
