All-New 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Review – Fun Electric Utility Vehicle
The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV is flat-out fun to drive. In fact, I was surprised just how fun. So EUV is the acronym Chevy is going with. And it stands for an electric utility vehicle. To me, it’s a bigger, faster, and more comfortable Bolt. But, oh man, it’s ‘go-kart’ fun to drive. 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Top-3: The Drive! Interior Tech ✅ Southern California’s Chevrolet Headquarters is Martin Chevrolet. –>Continue reading below and click play to listen to the podcast.<– ’22 Chevy Bolt EUV LT Trim 2022 Chevrolet Bolt Electric Utility Vehicle Review Chevy’s website touts Bolt EUV’s 0 to 60 MPH as 7.0-seconds. And after driving it, that seems really off. Because it feels way quicker. Maybe Bolt EUV’s quickness lies in its 0 to 30 MPH time. But whatever the case, it’s fun to drive. Specifically in acceleration but also handling. Plus inside is very well laid out and comfortable. Quality surfaces to the touch as well as the fit. Consequently, Bolt EUV delivers a solid drive while also feeling solid. Additionally, Bolt EUV is the first Chevy to offer Super Cruise. And that is hands-free driver assistance tech on roads that are enabled. Rear badging Trim Configurations And Prices The all-new Chevrolet Bolt EUV is being offered in two trims for 2022. And I was surprised to realize the trim that I test drove wasn’t the top of the line. 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Trims And MSRPs: LT $33,995 Premier $38,495 So my test driver, pictured throughout this article, was the LT trim. All things considered, during my test drive, I thought for certain that I was cruising in the top trim level. Because even the LT had that many creature comforts. Electric Drive, Charing And, Range Regardless of trim, the 2022 Bolt EUV is being offered in two-wheel drive. Specifically, that’s front-wheel drive. Additionally, the same single motor and gear set with a permanent magnetic drive motor come in both trims. And that setup delivers 200 horsepower with 266 pound-feet of torque. Charging Times Of course, charging times vary. Because it all depends on what type of charger you’re using. 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Charing Times: 120 Volt – 4-miles of range per charging hour 240 V 32 amps – 25-miles per charging hour 240 V 48 amps – 37-miles per charging hour DC Fast Charge – Up to 95-miles in 30-minutes To be clear, the 120 V charger is your typical at-home wall socket. Then the two different 240 V options are chargers EV owners typically have install at their homes. Which leaves DC fast charging. And that’s charging available at public facilities. Like highway fueling/charging stations. Range And MPGe MPGe is an acronym that stands for miles per gallon equivalent. Because ‘gallons’ of electricity does not exist. At least not yet anyway. :0) So the MPGe for the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV varies as well. And that’s because it really depends on how much strain you put on the vehicle’s overall systems. Like the air conditioning system. Or the ventilated seats. I used both extensively during my test drive. (And it didn’t seem to impact the vehicle’s performance a bit.) But what all this really breaks down to is the vehicle’s range. Or how far will it go on a full charge? And the EPA-estimated range for the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is 247 miles on a full charge. Finally, for the record – and the curious, the MPGe is 125 in the city and 104 on the highway. For a combined total of 115 MPGe. What Does The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Look Like? Since the smaller Chevy Bolt is just a couple of years old, the larger Chevy Bolt EUV looks pretty much identical – only bigger. And in my opinion, it looks better than its smaller sibling. 0 to 60 in 7.0 seconds Maybe it’s because of the slightly different dimensions or proportions. Perhaps it’s simply due to the bigger-ness. But I find it more aesthetically appealing. Because it kind of loses some of that EV-ish look and feel. Exterior Dimensions: Wheelbase 105.3 Length 169.5 Width 69.7 Height 63.6 Track: Front 59.5 Rear 59.5 *All inches And call me a bit of a car guy… cause I am. But, the wheels on my LT-trimmed test driver were sharp. 17″ Machined alloy wheels Even though they’re electric vehicle rims, Chevy managed to make them look sharp. Inside The 5-Seat EUV The interior of the all-new Bolt EUV is where I really got confused. Due to the upscale materials and features. Plus the ultra-quiet cabin plaid a factor for sure. And I have to point out my favorite feature (in just about any car I get into) ventilated seats! Because Bolt EUV has them – and they were the coolest I’ve felt to date. Sporty flat-bottom steering wheel So inside was spacious, comfortable and everything was quality to the touch. Additionally, there were no joints or panel connections that felt less than a high-line vehicle quality. 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Interior Dimensions: Headroom 40.0/37.8 Legroom 44.3/39.2 Shoulder room 54.6/52 Hip room 51.4/50.2 *All inches **Front headroom w/ sunroof 39.1 Bolt EUV even has a flat-bottom steering wheel. Plus that one paddle shifter lever that you see on the left side of the steering wheel. Well, that’s not a paddle-shifter. That’s a regenerative braking lever. And it works great. Upward angled infotainment screen Something about the infotainment screen that I noticed. At first, I thought it was odd. But then I realized it’s brilliant. And you can’t really tell in pictures. But the infotainment monitor is mounted in the dash with a slight upward tilt. Consequently, throughout my test drive, I experience zero glare issues from the sun – here in sunny Southern California. 39.2″ backseat legroom And the backseat is exceedingly comfortable with ample legroom. In fact, the Bolt EUV has 3-more inches of legroom in the backseat over its sibling Bolt EV. And that vehicle’s backseat is comfortable. Infotainment And Safety Technology As indicated above the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV has a lot going for it already. However, the technology it offers adds to the value proposition significantly. For instance, fast charging is standard. Further Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are as well. Also, a 10.2 HD touchscreen works with an overall user-friendly infotainment system. And that system is easy to use. Moreover, it’s easy to grasp as soon as you hop in. Intuitive cockpit To be clear, I’ve spent hours messing with the infotainment system in my wife’s Lexus. And, I still don’t get it. But not even ten minutes into my test drive and I was operating everything about the Bolt EUV. And that includes the sport and one-pedal drive modes. Both of which greatly alter how the Bolt EUV responds on the road. So sport mode is what you’d expect – a bit more fun behind the wheel. While the one-pedal drive allows you to enhance battery regeneration. At first, I didn’t care for it. Then I hit a stretch of stop-and-go traffic – and loved it. Super Cruise While my test driver didn’t have it, Chevy’s new Super Cruise is available on the Bolt EUV. In fact, it’s the first Chevy to offer the feature. And Chevy’s calling Super Cruise the ‘industry’s first true hands-free driver assistance technology.’ To be clear, that is for specifically enabled roads. On top of all that Chevy Safet Assist is standard which includes all of the additional driver assistance features. Like lane keep assist, lane departure warning, emergency braking, and more. 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Top-3 So back to my Top-3 for the all-new Chevy Bolt EUV. The Drive – It’s a fun car to drive because of its solid feel on the road but especially its near-exact feeling acceleration under your right foot. Interior – Even with the entry-level LT trim, the Bolt EUV battles above its weight class. And that’s with the fit, finish and, available features. Technology – Bolt EUV is packed standard with driver assistance and smart EV tech. Add to that available Super Cruise and its a tough value proposition to beat. 2022 Volkswagen Taos Basecamp Review: Small SUV, Big Style And MPG
Volkswagen played the rollout of the 2022 VW Taos Basecamp well. Because, while we knew the all-new subcompact SUV was coming. We didn’t know the special Basecamp package was anything more than a concept. So when the Basecamp concept became a real thing – it heightened the excitement. And after driving it I can report that the small new sport-ute lives up to the excitement. ✅ Southern California’s Volkswagen HQ –> Ontario Volkswagen 2022 Volkswagen Taos Basecamp Top-3: Style Drive Fuel Economy –>Continue reading below and click play to listen to the podcast.<– 2022 VW Taos SE with Basecamp 2022 Volkswagen Taos Basecamp To be clear, Basecamp is a package that buyers can add to any Tao’s trim configuration. It’s an appearance package that adds to the aggressive rugged look of the vehicle. And the package is installed at the dealer level. But it’s a Volkswagen-approved package. Basecamp Taos Package Trim Levels And Prices So Basecamp package can be added to any of the three trim configurations for the all-new 2022 Volkswagen Taos. And those trims with manufacturers suggested retail prices are below. 2022 Volkswagen Taos trims: S $22,995 SE $27,245 SEL $31,490 *Starting MSRPs – not including Basecamp package. But the above prices are MSRPs only. You need to get your Taos configured to your liking. And the prices above do not reflect the Basecamp package being included. Furthermore, the Basecamp package adds $995 to your 2022 Volkswagen Taos purchase prices. And that’s regardless of the trim level. Engine, Transmission, And Fuel Economy For the 2022 Volkswagen Taos, the same engine is planted in each trim level. And that’s a highly-spirited 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder. Additionally, it’s turbocharged and puts out 158 horsepower with 184 pound-feet of torque. Turbocharged Inline 4-cylinder And that engine is paired with one of two transmissions, depending on whether it’s an all-wheel-drive or front-wheel-drive configuration. So there’s an 8-speed automatic transmission that connects to the front-wheel-drive Taos. And a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and VW’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive. MPG Beyond being fun to drive the 2022 VW Taos delivers in the MPG department. 2022 VW Taos Fuel Economy FWD 28/31/36 AWD 25/28/32 *City/combined/highway What Does ’22 VW Taos Basecamp Look Like? The 2022 VW Taos Basecamp looks more aggressive and rugged than its non-Basecamp siblings. However, with that said Taos without the Basecamp package is a great-looking SUV. ’22 Taos SE w/ Basecamp package And it’s definitely a Volkswagen SUV. So, from Atlas to Atlas Cross Sport and Tiguan to Taos – Volkswagen has homogenized the lineup. And you could think of the SUV models as large, medium, small and extra-small. But that works creat because every one of the vehicles is aesthetically appealing. Exterior Dimensions: Wheelbase 105.9/105.6 Track: Front 61.9 Rear 60.5/60.8 Length 175.8 Width 72.5 Height 64.4/64.6 Ground clearance 6.4/6.6 *Inches, FWD/AWD Inside VW Taos Subcompact SUV Inside the 5-seat, 2022 VW Taos is much bigger than its subcompact classification would indicate. As usual, the engineers at VW can be thanked for that. Taos SE trim interior Consistent with Volkswagens standards, the all-new Taos displays exemplary fit and finish inside. Because all pieces and panel connections fit firmly together. And the finish of even this non-luxury brand vehicle looks and feels quality beyond its price tag. Up to 65.9 cu-ft cargo space And with both backseats folded down the 2022 Volkswagen Taos delivers up to 65.9 cubic feet of well-designed cargo space. 2022 VW Taos Interior Dimensions: Legroom 40.1/37.9 Shoulder room 56.5/55.2 Headroom 53.4/46.1 *Inches, front/back Infotainment And Safety Technology Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit highlights the technology of the 2022 Taos. And that’s standard which is significant. Because Digital Cockpit replaces analog in-dash instruments with a monitor. Digital Cockpit – standard So you can configure your driving experience however you like. Additionally, you are able to save digital cockpit configurations for easy access and to accommodate different drivers. Also available with the ’22 Taos is IQ.DRIVE. It is Volkswagen’s suite of advanced driver assistance safety features. And while it’s an option on the Taos S and SE trims, it’s standard on the SEL trim. 2022 VW Taos Basecamp Top-3 Coming full circle back to my Top-3 for the 2022 Volkswagen Taos – the picks were pretty easy. Style – Even without the Basecamp package, Taos is a great-looking SUV. And again, that’s completely uniform with its bigger siblings in the VW SUV lineup. Drive – Taos is a fun car to drive. Because it’s all about power-to-weight. So the small SUV is easily maneuvered by VW’s always solid suspension plus the turbocharged inline 4-cylinder. Fuel Economy – SUV and fuel economy doesn’t always go together, even now. But VW is making sure it does with its overall lineup and most certainly so with Taos. Ontario VW – Southern California’s Volkswagen HQ My thanks to my friends at Ontario Volkswagen for providing the 2022 VW Taos Basecamp pictured throughout this review. 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Review, Prices, Trims And Photos
The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a midsize SUV. But it joins its slightly larger sibling, the VW Atlas in the midsize SUV category. Here’s the deal. Atlas Cross Sport is a 2-row whereas the larger VW Atlas is a 3-row. The differences pretty much start and stop there. So if you have kids at home go with the Atlas. And if you don’t you’ll probably opt for the Atlas Cross Sport. Because it’s a bit sleeker, sportier, and even more European-looking. However, you cannot go wrong either way. Because both the Atlas and the Atlas Cross Sport are great overall values. ✅ Test drive Atlas Cross Sport midsize SUV at Southern California’s Volkswagen HQ –> Ontario Volkswagen. 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport Top-3: Overall value. Exterior styling. Interior engineering. –>Continue reading below and click play to listen to the podcast.<– Left: Atlas Cross Sport | Right: Atlas See the difference in the above picture? Atlas Cross Sport is on the left. Its roofline slopes down. And it’s shorter from the rear wheel to the rear bumper. Conversely, Atlas is on the right. Its roofline doesn’t slope much. And it’s longer from the rear wheel to the rear bumper. 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Midsize SUV So here’s what’s new for the 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport. The 2-row midsize SUV now comes in eight trim levels. Plus there’s new technology. And that includes driver assistance features. For example, new tech includes VW’s next-gen MIB3 infotainment system. Additionally, it also can come with wireless App-Connect pairing for multiple compatible phones. Plus Travel Assist and Emergency Assist features are available for 2021. Atlas Cross Sport starts at $30,855 MSRP Trim Configurations And Prices Since 2021 is the second model year for Atlas Cross Sport it’s typical for carmakers to add more trim options. Hence the more robust offering of trims this year. ’21 Atlas Cross Sport Trims & Starting MSRPs: S $30,855 SE $34,205 with Tech $36,245 w/ Tech & R-Line $39,045 SEL $41,725 R-Line $43,325 Premium $46,525 Premium R-Line $50,025 Manufacturers suggested retail pricing is provided for reference. You need to get your Cross Sport equipped to your liking. And the place to do that is Ontario Volkswagen in the Los Angeles suburb of Ontario, CA. Engines, Transmissions, And MPG Depending on the trim config you select, there are two engine options. Engines First, there’s a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4cylinder. It puts out 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Second, there’s the bigger 3.6L V6. And that creates 276 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. However, having driven both – without data to back up the statement. I’m pretty sure the turbo 4-cylinder accelerates quicker than the V6. Maybe not 0 to 60 mph. But off the line. (Aka from a dead stop.) It feels quicker. Transmission Regardless of the engine, Atlas Cross Sport comes with the same transmission. And that’s an eight-speed automatic that helps produce solid fuel economy for a vehicle that size. Although the eight-speed trans is standard there can be a decision to make. You may have to select whether to go with a two-wheel drive (in front – FWD) or an all-wheel drive. MPG The EPA-estimated fuel economy differs slightly with the different engine and drives combinations. ’21 Atlas Cross Sport MPG: 2.0L 4-cyl FWD 21/22/24 AWD 20/22/24 3.6L V6 FWD 18/20/23 AWD 17/19/23 *City/combined/highway It’s important to note that the midsize Atlas Cross Sport is a hefty vehicle. Again, configuration depending, it can have a curb weight from 4,098 pounds up to 4,484 lbs. What Does VW Atlas Cross Sport Look Like? So the Atlas Cross Sport is tough to differentiate from its larger sibling Atlas. And that’s clear from the comparison picture of their rear ends above. But either way, it’s a handsome, athletic and, bold European design. Undoubtedly it’s a Volkswagen. That is from the front and rear. Or anywhere you spot the badge. Height 78.4″ / Length 195.5″ However, when you go with an upper trim configuration Atlas Cross Sport can make you look twice. For example, the first time I spotted one on the road I thought for certain that I’d seen an Audi. Exterior Dimensions: Wheelbase 117.3 Track: front 67.0 rear 67.6 Length 195.5 Width 78.4 Height 68.3 *All inches Inside ’21 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport And inside Atlas Cross Sport is huge. Volkswagen has a knack for engineering great use of space which is displayed inside its ’21 Atlas Cross Sport. ’21 VW Atlas Cross Sport S trim The People’s SUV is well laid out inside. Functional and clean, with quality surfaces. And Volkswagen’s legendary attention to detail, fit and finish. Up to 77.8 cu-ft cargo space And with the backseats folded down, the 5-passenger midsize sport-ute provides up to 77.8 cubic feet of cargo space. Plus, even with the backseats raised Atlas Cross Sport delivers 40.3 cu-ft of space for your stuff. Infotainment And Safety Technology When it comes to technology Cross Sport has everything available. For instance, IQ.DRIVE, Volkswagen’s suite of driver assistance features and App-Connect enabling Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. S trim, analog instruments But you can also step it up in trim configurations and get Volkswagen’s digital cockpit. Accordingly, the digital cockpit replaces analog instruments (shown above) with an in-dash monitor. Moreover, that monitor is completely customizable and you can save multiple profiles within in. 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Top-3 Finally coming back full-circle to my Top-3 for the 2021 Volkswagen Cross Sport midsize sport utility vehicle. Overall value – The proposition Atlas Cross Sport poses is a tough one to beat. European styling, fit, finish, and tech, it’s all there at a great price-point. Exterior styling – Atlas Cross Sport is a handsome vehicle in every trim configuration. Especially when you opt for the upper-tier trims. Interior engineering – Volkswagen’s attention to fit and finish (now mentioned 3x’s in this article) is truly legendary. And that’s why the brand has a cult-like following. Rear badging states only “Atlas” A final note on Cross Sport and its bigger sibling Atlas. Cross Sport side badge “Cross Sport” badging is located only on the sides. All Latest Volkswagen News HERE.

2021 Chevrolet Trax Review: Prices, Trims, Specs, Features & Photos
The 2021 Chevrolet Trax is a great daily driver. Especially if you’re in an urban setting where space is tight. But also, if you’re just wanting something smaller and more nimble to maneuver. However, depending on how your crew packs, you might need a luggage rack for that weekend getaway. ✅ Your best Chevrolet deals are at Martin Chevrolet in Torrance, California. 2021 Chevy Trax Top-3: Safety. So, you can add the Midnight Edition or the Sport Edition. Additionally, the following exterior colors become available for the model year. Those are Midnight Blue Metallic, Crimson Metallic, and Shadow Grey Metallic. But there’s one more, for an extra cost, you can get Iridescent Peral Tricoat. Finally, the bow tie brand includes a new premium seat package on the LT trim. And that comes with full ‘leatherette’ seats that are heated in the front. Trim Configurations And Prices Keeping it simple for 2021, Chevrolet Trax is offered in two trims. There’s the base-model LS and the top-trim LT. Trims And MSRPs: LS $22,595 LT $24,395 But, if you want to add Midnight or Sport Edition packages then you need to go with the LT trim. Engine, Transmissions, And MPG Here too, Chevy keeps its sub-com sport-ute simple. Because regardless of the trim configuration, Trax comes with the same peppy 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. And that engine puts out 138 horsepower with 148-pound feet of torque. Furthermore, it’s matched with an efficient 6-speed automatic transmission. So, you’re only decision here is whether you want an all-wheel-drive or front-wheel drive. EPA Estimated MPG: FWD 26/31 AWD 24/29 *City/highway But it doesn’t matter which drive you pick. Because when it comes to fuel economy you’re in great shape either way. And depending on trim and transmission configuration the ’21 Trax has a curb weight of between 3,124 and 3,292 lbs. What Does The 2021 Chevrolet Trax Look Like? The subcompact looks like a Chevy crossover. But not quite as aggressive looking as its slightly bigger sibling Trailblazer. 64.9 to 66″ overall height Trax is handsome without special edition packages. Of course, with a special edition package, Trax’s appearance takes on entirely new and sporty dimensions. Exterior Dimensions: Wheelbase 100.6 Length 167.6 Width 69.9 Track: front 60.6 rear 60.6 Height 64.9 to 66 *All inches Inside The ’21 Chevy Trax The 2021 Chevy Trax manages spacious comfort for subcompact SUV. And even with the backseats up there’s 18.7 cu-ft to store your stuff. Up to 48.4 cubic feet of cargo space Plus Chevy provides plenty of storage nooks and tie-down hooks to secure your stuff as well. Find Trax’s complete interior dimensions are below. Interior Dimensions: Headroom 39.6/38.8 Legroom 40.8/35.7 Shoulder room 54.1/52.8 Hip room 51.7/50.7 *All inches and front/rear. Infotainment And Safety Technology The ’21 Trax comes standard with a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen. Plus 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay are available. Standard 7″ infotainment touchscreen Almost all Chevy vehicles come with a similarly formatted infotainment touchscreen. And in my opinion, Chevy strikes just the right balance of buttons, touch features, and a knob. Making the user interface intuitive and easy to use. Safety Trax offers many of the high-tech safety features commonly offered across all vehicle makes and models lately. But moreover, the 2021 Chevrolet Trax has a stellar 5-star Overal Vehicle Score for safety. And that’s from NHTSA – the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Top-3: 2021 Chevrolet Trax So my Top-3 for the ’21 Chevy Trax were easy picks. Safety: The 5-star Overall Vehicle Score is a big one. Especially when we’re talking about a subcompact vehicle. Because for smaller cars we want to be extra certain safety is a focus. The drive: Trax’s smaller stature also means you want to be able to maneuver the vehicle effortlessly. And that you can do for sure. Plus responsive acceleration keeps you in control. Interior space: The folding front passenger space is nearly worth the price of admission alone! The rest of the inside is smartly yet comfortably designed to haul people and stuff. 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab RST: Drop The Tailgate
The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab is definitely a vehicle that would be in my garage if I only had space. Because the full-size Silverado is Chevy’s top-selling vehicle and it gets a lot of attention. Each year, there’s always something new and improved about the truck. And it’s packed with technology and innovation. Plus it’s 100% a chameleon. By that I mean, you can get a totally basic Silverado. And that would be that will be a tough work truck. But you can also get one souped-up for on or off-roading in ridiculous style and capability. ✅ And my friends at Martin Chevrolet gave me the 2021 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab RST 4WD pictured in this review. And mine had the Z71 package off-road package. 2021 Chevy Silverado Top-3: Technology. Interior. Styling. Cherry Red Tintcoat 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Review New for 2021 Chevy Silverado brings a couple of key features that will light up everyone universally. Plus it offers a number of new options that are a bit more niche-specific. But they’re sure to be enjoyed nonetheless. So, universal features will have everyone mouthing the word ‘sweet’ include: The multi-flex tailgate that’s being brought over from GMC. And wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Plus there’s a slew of additional new options. Including increased trailering capabilities and enhanced tech to monitor your trailering. Also, new available packages: All-Star Edition Plus, Texas Edition Plus, and LTZ Premium Texas Edition. And there are new colors including Oxford Brown Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat – pictured in this article. Prices And Trims It’s notable that there are more ways to equip a Silverado than I think anyone has bothered to compute. From trims to special packages and engines to drivetrains, plus cabs and beds. You can, and should, get your Silverado exactly as you like. ’21 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trims: Work Truck (WT) Custom Custom Trail Boss LT RST LT Trail Boss LTZ High Country And starting MSRPs for the various trims range widely. For example on Chevy’s website, I configured a minimally equipped WT for a starting price of about $26,595. Conversely, I also configured a High Country with all the whistles and bells for about $67,455. Moreover, that’s before customizing any equipment or considering special packages. Engines, Transmissions, Towing, And MPG So, with all the trim options in mind, the engine options might surprise you. Because there are nine of those when you consider their various transmission pairings. Engine/Trans Options 4.3-liter V6 with 6-speed automatic and Active Fuel Management 5.3L V8 with 6-speed automatic With Active Fuel Management Without Active Fuel Management 5.3L V8 with 8-speed automatic With Dynamic Fuel Management Without Dynamic Fuel Management 5.3 L V8 with 10-speed automatic with Dynamic Fuel Management 6.2L V8 with 10-speed automatic with Dynamic Fuel Management 2.7L Turbo 4-cylinder with 8-speed automatic and Active Fuel Management 3.0L I-6 Turbo-Diesel with 10-speed automatic In addition to all that, as you can imagine, the fuel economy is all over the board. But good, overall. There is some criticism about the 4-cylinder. Not that it’s not powerful but that it isn’t very fuel-efficient. Fuel Economy Overall, the worst EPA estimated fuel economy would be 13 MPG in the city. And that’s with the Trail Boss 4WD, 5.3L V8 paired with the 6-speed automatic without active fuel management. On the flip side, the best MPG comes from the 3.0L Turbo Diesel. Because it’s rated, with 2WD, at up to 33 MPG on the highway. Mostly the MPG is in the mid-to-high-teens in the city and the low-to-mid-twenties on the highway. Maximum Towing Capacity And towing, Silverado 1500 can get downright beastly. Considering the 6.2L V8, with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque can drag up to 13,300 lbs! What Does The 2021 Chevy Silverado Look Like? So, back to my earlier chameleon comment. Because that applies to what Silverado looks like for certain. And really, Chevy could make an entire brand out of Silverado alone. In fact, there are already more Silverado trim options than some carmakers offer in their entire lineups. Up to 2,280 lbs. payload , 89.1 cu-ft. cargo and 13,300 lbs towing And the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is also unquestionably a Chevy Silverado pick-up truck. Because that’s easy to spot from a distance. Plus, aside from the very handy step-in bumper corners, this year’s Silverado offers an innovative new tailgate. Multi-Flex tailgate General Motors first offered the functionality in its GMC lineup of pick-up trucks. But this year Chevy gets it too. And the multi-flex tailgate includes six different useful functions. One notable application is pictured above. It allows access to the truck bed without having to drop the entire tailgate. But, probably the coolest application is pictured below. Brilliant design for high-ground clearance So, the tailgate’s built-in stair is a brilliant design. Allowing for much easier access to the truck bed and cargo. And this is especially useful considering the higher ground clearances in pick-ups rolling off the assembly line. ’21 Chevy Silverado’s Huge Multi-Functional Interior Climbing into the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab was a pleasure I enjoyed throughout my day-long test drive. Because at 5’10” I’m neither tall nor short. But while conducting my test drives and reviews I get in and out of every door. Plus I take pictures all over the vehicle. And I was never cramped throughout that process with Silverado. 44.5″ front legroom With three different cab configurations to choose from, interior dimensions vary across the board. But all of them have an ample 44.5-inches of legroom for the driver and front-seat passenger. Cavernous crew cab – backseat partially up And the back seat is huge. While lying on the backseat, I couldn’t quite fully extend. But I was certainly comfortable enough for a midday Dad-nap. :0) Plus its not just lots of space, but the smart usage of that space. Hidden cargo area inside the backseats For example, there’s the hidden cargo area built-into the back seats. And this is on both sides. Plus, the gigantic dashboard is not wasted a bit. Because you have a handy double-glove box to tuck items away from the prying eyes of would-be thieves. Dual glovebox optimizes space and secures stuff With all of the interior space and design of it, the 2021 Chevy Silverado’s interior creates a useful environment for both work and play applications. Moreover, the user-interface throughout Silverado’s interior is simple and intuitive. Infotainment And Technology Speaking of intuitive Chevy’s infotainment system is user-friendly. Because its mix of buttons, touchscreen function, and knobs strikes just the right balance. RST cockpit w/ Z71 off-road package While there’s a great deal of functionality within Silverado, Chevy makes it all easy to operate. In addition to that, everything is laid out in a way that is not a bit intimidating. And that subconsciously, for many drivers, makes it all the easier to use for many drivers. Safety Tech The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 offers all the latest driver assistance and safety tech. Including blindspot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance parking assistance, and more. But what sets Silverado apart is Teen Driver and Rear Seat Reminder standard. Both of these functions are simple tech features that have the safety of families in mind. And I love that. 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Top-3 Technology – The tech Silverado offers is not just computer-driven. And that’s experienced in the multi-flex tailgate plus the innovative use of space and user-friendliness inside. Interior – Silverado is a full-size pick-up truck. So, it should be big inside. But there’s space and then there’s the usage of that space. And Chevy hits a homerun with both. Styling – From the black bow tie and bold front-end to indented lines on the side of the bed, this is a handsome truck. And remember a chameleon too. Martin Chevrolet – Torrance, CA As always, my thanks to Martin Chevy in the South Bay of Los Angeles – Southern California’s Chevy Dealer. For all of your Chevy needs – that’s the place to go. I do! 2021 Volkswagen Arteon: The People’s Euro-Elegant Sedan
The refreshed 2021 Volkswagen Arteon adds elements of driver assistance, connectivity, and refinement. As a result, Arteon continues its this/closeness to luxury sibling brand Audi. But the midsize flagship sedan does so while maintaining the Volkswagen pricing creating an attractive value proposition. ✅ The latest Arteon deals and incentives –> check inventory at Ontario Volkswagen 2021 VW Arteon Top-3: Design Interior Technology Because at under $37k starting price it’s hard to beat the overall package Volkswagen Arteon offers. 268 hp & 258 lb-ft of torque 2021 Volkswagen Arteon Review Because no other European luxury brand has a non-luxury sibling VW is special. And thanks go to Audi for sure. But Porsche and other brands owned by Volkswagen Group too. So, when you consider the available technology and innovation easily accessible to Volkswagen. It’s easy to understand how the carmakers packs so much into it’s flagship sedan. First, it’s exceptional design – inside and out. Plus Volkswagen’s reknown attention to fit and finish details. And class leading technology. Arteon looks great. It’s fun to drive, quick and offers superior handling. And it includes Volkswagen’s Digital cockpit which is a direct carryover from Audi. Trims And Prices For ’21 Arteon is offered in three trim configurations. Starting with the base-model SE. Next is the SEL R-Line. And the top trim for 2021 is the SEL Premium R-Line. 2021 Volkswagen Arteon Trims & MSRPS: Base-model SE $36,995 SEL R-Line $41,595 SEL Premium R-Line $46,995 As an reference I provide manufacturers suggested retail pricing. But go see my friends at Ontario VW for not only your best price and selection but also your best buying experience. Engines, Transmissions, And MPG No matter which trim configuration, Arteon comes with the same engine and transmission. But the factor you do have to weigh into the equation is front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. And VW’s AWD system is referred to as 4Motion. So the engine is an inline 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that’s turbocharged. And it puts out 268 horsepower with 258 pound-feet of torque. That engine is paried with an 8-speed automatic transmission. EPA rated up to 32 mpg Leaving the FWD or 4Motion decision. But, FWD is the only option on the SE trim. The SEL R-Line offers both FWD and 4Motion. And the SEL Premium R-Line only comes with the 4Motion. Fuel economy varies only a little. Because AWD gives you 20 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway. Whereas FWD will deliver 22 in the city and 32 on the highway. Finally, Arteon’s curbweight also varies slightly due to FWD or AWD. With FWD it’s 3,686 and with AWD it’s 3,955. What Does 2021 VW Arteon Look Like? Arteon’s styling is undeniably attractive. But it’s also undeniably a Volkswagen. And, you could say, it’s undeniably the Volkswagen flagship sedan. Because there’s no bad angle when viewing the vehicle. Exterior Dimensions: Wheelbase 111.9 Track: Front 62.5 Rear 62.1 Length 191.6 Width 73.7 Height 56.9 *All inches Plus, depending on your trim configuration. You can have your option of stylish 18″, 19″, or 20″ wheels and R-Line sporty accents. It’s European for sure with a contemporary forward-leaning vibe. Inside ’21 Arteon Inside the 2021 Volkswagen Arteon is where the fit and finish details really hit home. Because even a non-car-guy/gal are able to appreciate the little things. Like how the doors close with a solid feel. Or how all the surfaces fit together snug and seamlessly. 41.2/40.2-inches front/back legroom Plus the interior mechanical parts of the vehicle work. Like the center console storage cubbies function. Or how the backseats fold down. ’21 VW Arteon Interior Dimensions: Headroom 37.9/37.1 Shoulder room 56.6/54.7 Legroom 41.2/40.2 *All inches Even how the glove box opens and shuts. It’s attention-to-detail German engineered. Quality. 96.5 cu-ft of passenger volume And it’s all of that fine German engineering at a non-luxury pricepoint. While it’s essentially a luxury vehicle. Heck, you can even get the 2021 VW Arteon with a massaging drivers seat! Up to 56.2 cu-ft cargo space So Arteon is a fastback – aka sportback. And that allows for a great amout of cargo space. And with the backseats up it offers 27.2 cubic-feet of cargo space. But then drop the backseats down and you have up to 56.2 cu-ft of space for your stuff. Infotainment And Safety Tech From an available Harman Kardon premium sound system to Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit being standard. If Arteon doesn’t come with it, then you can get it. Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit is a favorite of mine. Because it replaces in-dash analog instrumentation with a digital display monitor. And you can custom configure it however you like. Including putting your navigation map right in your dash. Additionally, you can program and save multiple profiles for easy access. And that includes updated safety technology. Plus new for this year available wirelss app connect and 30-color ambient lighting. 2021 Volkswagen Arteon Top-3 So coming back to my Top-3 for the 2021 VW Arteon midsize fastback sedan. Design – This is a great looking vehicle from every angle – inside and out. VW for sure, but European and attractive. Interior – Legendary fit and finish from Volkswagen is what makes brand-lovers and keeps them. And Arteon delivers hands-down. Technology – Digital Cockpit for certain. But even an optional massaging drivers seat – that’s impressive for a vehicle in this price range. Starting under $37k – VW Arteon iDriveSoCal with Ontario Volkswagen brings you all the latest VW news.

2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV: Insanely Affordable Range
The 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV delivers an EPA-estimated 259 miles of range on a full charge. And that’s comparable to a gas-fueled vehicle with a full tank. So, consider that. Plus new insanely competitive pricing on the compact electric wagon. And it’s easy to understand how sales are taking off. 2021 Chevy Bolt EV Top-3: Range Drive Interior Plus Chevy’s just getting started with more electric product offerings on the way soon. I recently picked up a nicely equipped base-model from my friends at Martin Chevrolet for this review. –>Continue reading or click play below to listen. <– 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV Review With 2021 Bolt enters its fourth model year. And since the first model year of 2017, Bolt has increased its capacity where it counts. Specifically range. Because previous model years came with just 238 miles of range. And when it comes to EVs that’s at the top of every list. Due to the EV nature of the ’21 Bolt, it offers a smooth ride. Because the battery weight across the floor of the vehicle gives it a sturdy confident feeling while driving. Plus being electric, Bolt has ample torque. And besides very aggressive pricing, where Chevy Bolt really differs from its EV rivals is inside. While Bolt is EV-minimalist inside, it’s not overdone minimalism. Because most manufacturers making electric vehicles these days take that less-is-more thing a bit too far. (Ahem, Tesla.) Trims And Prices For ’21 Chevy offers the Bolt in two trim options. So, you can go with the base-model LT or the top-tier Premier trim. The base-model LT trim MSRP starts at $37,495. And the Premier trim MSRP starts at $42,695. Up to 100 miles in 30 mins w/ DC Fast Charging Motor, Transmission, Range, And MPGe Regardless of trim, the 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV comes with the same powertrain. And it delivers the same range and miles per gallon equivalent. Both trims come with the same electric motor that delivers 200 horsepower and 266 lb-feet of torque. And front-wheel drive is your only option. Up to 127 mpg-e Additionally, up to 259 miles of range is the same for both trims. And the EPA MPG equivalent is a whopping 127 in the city and 108 on the highway for a combined 118 mpg-e. So, the one notable difference in trims when it comes to range and mpg-e is the DC Fast Charging capability. Because that’s standard on the Premier and available on the LT. What Does The 2021 Chevy Bolt EV Look Like? The 2021 Bolt EV looks like an electric vehicle. But I wouldn’t go so far as to say it looks Prius space-shippy. The EPA classification actually lists Bolt as a wagon. While the Bolt is certainly no Corvette C8 it is good looking for an EV. And especially one that’s currently available for a $99 monthly lease! Exterior dimensions: Wheelbase 102.4 Length 164 Width 69.5 Height 62.8 Track: Front 59.1 Rear 59.1 *All inches And, the ’21 Bolt electric vehicle has a curb weight of 3,563 lbs. Inside The ’21 Chevy Bolt Electric Vehicle What I really like about the 2021 Chevy Bolt is the interior. Because while it’s minimally adorned, it’s not overly minimized. Some manufacturers seem to think because a car is electric drivers suddenly no longer stuff. And because we do have stuff, that stuff needs to find a home in our cars. Like coat hooks, nooks, and crannies. Places to keep our belongings out of sight. Comfortable and inviting denim-like upholstery And Bolt doesn’t have that problem. Chevy doesn’t overdo the minimalism. Bolt is still an EV inside for sure. But the interior is warm and inviting instead of Tesla-sterile. Interior dimensions: Headroom 39.7/37.9 Legroom 41.6/36.5 Shoulder room 54.6/52.8 Hip room 51.6/50.8 *All inches, front/rear Up to 56.6 cu-ft of cargo space Also, with the backseats folded down, Bolt provides up to 56.6 cubic-feet of cargo space. With so much space the EPA wagon designation makes a little more sense. And in the picture above you can see the slots of the option false floor. With that, you create a hidden compartment in the back of the vehicle. Another place to put your stuff! Technology And Safety Being an EV Bolt is loaded with tech. And one of the handiest features is the battery charging regeneration system. So, this works in a couple of ways. First, you can drive with one pedal. By using only the accelerator you can speed up, slow down or come to a complete stop by releasing it. But also, on the backside of the steering wheel is a button/paddle. That can be used as a handbrake. And that also regenerates the charge of the battery. 10.2″ infotainment touchscreen Another element I like about this electric vehicle is that you’re not 100% reliant on a touchscreen. Because when you have every function of the car going through one interface. When (not if) that interface goes down a bad day will be had on the road. So that’s another plus Bolt has over Tesla and many other EVs. And a 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is another big plus. Because it pairs nicely with a suite of available driver assistance and safety tech. 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV Top-3 And that brings me back to my Top-3. These were easy picks. But technology also easily could have made the cut. Range – With a full charge delivering 259 miles you’re pretty much good to go anywhere. And the mpg-e of 118 combined helps ease that ‘anxiety that can come with EVs. Drive – Driving the Bolt is fun. Because it sticks to the road and really drives like a small car. And in that capacity makes the EPA wagon designation kind of silly. :0) Interior – EVs in general have developed into a far too minimalistic, less-is-more design-groove. Less isn’t more. I want comfort and warmth in my car. And Bolt is welcoming in that regard. For the best prices and buying experience go see my friends at Martin Chevrolet in Torrance, California. Chevrolet, find to roads!

2021 Volkswagen Jetta GLI: Value Euro Compact Sedan
The 2021 Volkswagen Jetta GLI stays true to its roots. Because going all the way back to 1984 it’s been considered a GTI with a trunk. And that holds true today. But what does that mean? Specifically, it’s sporty, Euro-stylish, handles great, and is fun to drive. Moreover, it’s wildly affordable. And definitely within the financial reach of every car-buyer. ✅ At Ontario VW, every new Jetta GLI includes 3-years of zero cost maintenance! Check out your best prices. ’21 VW Jetta GLI Top-3: Value Design Handling –>Continue reading or click play below to listen.<– 228 hp & 258 lb-ft of torque 2021 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Review: Value! Here’s what’s great about VW. No other car company has as robust an ownership group. Because VW enjoys sibling brands like Porsche and Audi. Plus many others. So it’s easy to understand how VW manages to pack so much value into an incredibly reasonable price-point. And that definitely holds true with the ’21 Jetta GLI. You get far more than you pay for. It accelerates quickly, is nimble to navigate, and exudes European luxury inside and out. And all at a price that’s well within the reach of any new car shopper. Trims And Pricing For 2021 Volkswagen keeps your GLI options pretty simple. You can go with the base-model S or jump to the top-trimmed Autobahn. 2021 VW Jetta Trims & MSRPs: S (base) $26,345 Autobahn $34,745 Of course with only two trims there’s a considerable difference between the two. And the GLI that’s pictured throughout this post is a base model S. It’s adequately equipped for sure. But my pick would definitely be to go with the Autobahn. And that’s because of all the extras you get including Volkswagen’s digital cockpit which is one of my favorites. It replaces the traditional instrumentation in the dashboard with a digital monitor. And that monitor is completely customizable. So you can have a traditional view with your tachometer and speedometer. Or, you can minimize that information while placing your navigation instructions inside the dash! Length 185.2″ Height 57.9″ Engine, Transmission, And Fuel Economy While keeping your trim options simple VW does the same with your engine and transmission choices. Because you get nearly the same no matter what. 2021 VW GLI Engine So, regardless of S or Autobahn trims you get a highly spirited 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder that turbocharged. And it puts out 228 horsepower with 258 pound-feet of torque. 6-speedd manual or 7-spd automatic transmission Transmission Options When it comes to transmissions you can go with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic. As much as I love manual, living here in Southern California almost always requires automatic for daily drivers. Because manual transmissions and SoCal traffic is a recipe for frustration. But, if you can control your schedule and miss traffic it’s doable. But, that said, the automatic offers paddle shifters to keep the driving experience fun and low-maintenance at the same time. When it comes to curb weights the manual transmission comes to 3,228 pounds while automatic bumps up to 3,294 lbs. 18″ aluminum-alloy wheels ’21 Volkswagen GLI MPG And GLI’s fuel economy keeps you skipping more gas stations than stopping at for certain. That’s due to 24 mpg in the city for both transmission options. While you’ll get 33 mpg on the highway with manual trans and up to 35 highway mpg with automatic. What Does ’21 GLI Look Like? It’s undeniably two things – European and a VW. Sporty and stylish with great lines from all angles. And again, that masterful design packed under a very affordable price-tag is tough to beat. Value, baby, value. :0) Exterior Dimensions: Wheelbase 105.6 Track Front 60.6 Rear 60.7 Length 185.2 Width 70.8 Height 57.9 *All inches Inside 2021 VW Jetta GLI And speaking of both great lines and value – the fit and finish of GLI is top-notch inside and out. Which, being a Volkswagen, comes standard. Up to 94.7 cu-ft passenger volume And even the base-model GLI is sporty inside. With red accent stitching and stainless steel capping on the pedals. Plus a flat-bottom steering wheel and driver-centric dash. 37.4″ backseat legroom Additionally, the Jetta GLI is spacious inside for an EPA class compact vehicle. It seats up to 5-adults with plenty of comfort-space and cargo room too. 14.1 cu-ft cargo space with the backseats up When you drop the backseats down 2021 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is highly reminiscent of the Golf GTI in terms of the ability to open-up space for your stuff. ’21 VW GLI Interior Volume: Headroom 38.5/37.2 Shoulder room 55.9/54.0 Legroom 41.1/37.4 * All inches Safety And Technology Both trims come with Volkswagen’s touchscreen infotainment systems. The base-model S includes a 6.5-inch while the Autobahn bumps up to an 8-inch display. Another notable feature inside when you go with the Autobahn is the premium BeatsAudio system. Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard on both trims as well. Base model cockpit VW’s Digital Cockpit In addition to a totally customizable in-dash monitor replacing the traditional instrument cluster, multiple digital cockpit profiles can be saved. And this easy access is great for different driving types. For instance, you can have a profile for your city driving and another for highway driving or road trips. Driver Assistance Available driver assistance and safety features include all the basics. Such as blind-spot monitoring, front and lane assist, rear traffic alert, and more. 2021 Volkswagen Jetta GLI – Top-3 The ’21 Jetta GLI packs a lot into its barely $30k price-tag. Value: So, value heads my Top-3 list because it’s truly a tough act to follow for any carmaker. When it comes to non-luxury European there’s truly no comparison. Design: The fit and finish of GLI rocks. Clean outside and inside. Great attention to detail throughout. Handling: GLI is fun to drive. It’s big for a compact but drives close to its GTI sibling. Ontario Volkswagen – Southern California’s VW Dealer Thanks, as always to my friends at Ontario VW for providing the 2021 VW Jetta GLI for this review. 2021 Chevrolet Traverse: 3-Row Midsize SUV Families Love
The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse looks just like a little Chevy Tahoe. That’s due to the Tahoe’s redesign as of the same model year. And Traverse is a midsize SUV. But here’s the thing. It’s huge inside. Best in class cargo room with up to 98.2 cubic-feet of stuff-space. ✅ Thanks to my friends at Martin Chevy for giving me the 2021 Chevy Traverse for this review! Plus it’s a -row SUV that seats up to eight. And it can tow up to 5,000 lbs. Additionally, it can deliver up to 27 mpg. So yeah, families dig it – a lot. Top-3: Interior – space! Versatility. Drive –>Play the podcast below or continue reading.<– 204.3-inches length & 70.7″ height Chevrolet Traverse Review It’s surprisingly quick. And it’s long but agile. No problem with u-turns or navigating tight spots. And it’s a great-looking sport-ute. But the show-stopper for the 2021 Traverse is inside. In fact, it’s the entire interior. Because there’s a huge amount of space and great use of it. Finally, there’s the NHTSA 5-Star Overall safety rating. Trims And Prices There’s a Traverse trim for just about every need and budget. So, without including Special Editions and options Traverse is offered in seven different trims. 2021 Chevy Traverse Trims & MSRPs: L starting at $29,800 LS $32,900 LT Cloth $35,400 LT Leather $39,100 RS $43,700 Premier $45,800 High Country $50,900 As Chevy is known for, Traverse is offered in its Redline Edition. And that’s what you see pictured in this article. Premier w/ Redline and all-wheel drive. Engines And Transmissions Unlike its trim options, Chevy keeps the Traverse engine and transmission combos simple. Because you only have one choice. And that’s two-wheel (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). And that’s great because the engine and transmission combo delivers a fun and powerful driving experience. So the engine is a 3.6-liter V6. It delivers 310-horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. And the transmission is a smartly geared 9-speed automatic. Redline Edition wheel So, with that little variation in engine and transmission Traverse’s fuel-economy is stable. AWD will give you 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. And FWD delivers 18/27mpg. It’s highly-capable too. Traverse has 5,000 lbs of towing capacity. And a curb-weight of 4,236 lbs. What’s the 2021 Chevy Traverse Look Like? With Chevrolet’s redesign of Tahoe and Suburban, Traverse looks exactly like a scaled-down version of those. And considering Suburban was basically the original sport utility vehicle, Traverse delivers that DNA impeccably. NHTSA 5-Star Safety Rating What’s nice about having so many trim options is there’s a look for every taste. From on-road sporty or off-road rugged, Traverse goes there without a struggle. Class-Leading Space Interior Space Sure, as a Dad I like to look cool. And Traverse delivers that. But, it’s all about my family. And that’s why so many families are choosing Traverse. Because the interior space is huge and very well designed. Cockpit – Premier trim My Premier trimmed Traverse had pinhole leather and surfaces that were quality to the touch. One of my favorite features on any car is ventilated seats. And Traverse has about the coolest I’ve tested in a long-time. Secret compartment in-dash And there are two hidden compartments inside the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse. One is behind the infotainment touchscreen. And the other is below the cargo area floor. Under-floor hidden compartment Both compartments are great additions to any SUV. Because without a trunk it can be hard to tuck items away from the prying eyes of would-be thieves. Interior Dimensions: Headroom 41.3/40/38.2 Legroom 41/38.4/33.5 Shoulder room 62.1/62.2/57.5 Hip room 58.1/56.9/48.5 *All inches – front/middle/back rows And beyond compartments, the Traverse is just huge inside. With a class-leading passenger volume of 157.3 cu-ft. Up to 98.2 cu-ft of cargo space Plus, with both rows of backseats folded down, owners enjoy nearly 100 cubic-feet of cargo space. Technology And Safety With Chevrolet’s push toward technology, the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse is loaded with plenty for both safety and convenience. There’s either a 7 or 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot plus wireless charging. 8″ infotainment touchscreen Also, standard Teen Driver safety tech makes Traverse a family favorite. And that gives Mom and Dad a report card on the young driver’s performance. Additionally, all the latest tech safety features that we’ve come to expect are available. Above all, the 2021 Traverse receives top honors from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Notching a 5-star overall safety rating is no small feat. 2021 Chevy Traverse Top-3 So coming full-circle, my Top-3 for the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse clear. Interior – The space inside the Travers and the use of it are about as good as it gets for a non-luxury vehicle. Versatility – Partially due to its interior Traverse is highly versatile. But night-on-the-town good looks and 5,000 lb of towing help round it out too. Drive – Traverse is powerful and quick. It’s maneuverable while also giving you a potent seating position and command of the road. 2021 Chevrolet Equinox Review: Prices, Trims, Specs & Pics
The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox marks the 16th model-year for the crossover sport-ute. And it’s always been a 5-passenger. But it’s been categorized as both a midsize and compact SUV. Because of its size, it’s currently referred to as a compact. But the Chevy SUV lineup also includes two smaller SUV models. Both the Trailblazer and Trax are Equinoix’s little siblings. While Equinox’s larger sibs include; Blazer, Traverse, Tahoe, and Suburban. Equinox has been Chevrolet’s number two selling vehicle in the US. Because it’s highly capable, versatile, and affordable. 2021 Chevrolet Equinox Top-3: Value Interior Technology My friends at Martin Chevrolet in SoCal’s Chevy Dealer in South Bay gave me the Equinox pictured in this article. –>Continue reading below or click play to listen.<– Premier trim w/ Redline Edition Package 2021 Chevy Equinox Trims & Prices So, this year’s Equinox offers four trim levels. But that doesn’t include the special edition packages and options. Trims & Starting MSRPs: L $23,800 LS $26,300 LT $27,500 Premier $35,390 Plus there are special edition packages available for the ’21 Equinox. For example, the handsome Redline package that you see pictured here. Additionally, Chevy offers an athletic Sport and Midnight special edition package. Engine, Transmission & MPG Chevy keeps the engine and transmission options simple for Equinox. All trims receive the same spirited 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. It produces 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. And there’s a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission. That can power either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. 1.5L Turbo 4-cylinder Fuel economy is a solid 25 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway for the AWD. And if you opt for FWD you increase to 26 mpg city and 31 mpg on the open road. The curb weight for ’21 Equinox varies with configuration – from 3,274 to 3,512 pounds. And it can tow 1,500 lbs. What Does 2021 Chevrolet Equinox Look Like? From the entry-level L trim to the Premier with Redline pictured here, the ’21 Equinox take on many looks. You can stand out from the crowd or blend in. But regardless of the trim, Equinox is well proportioned. It has a clean aerodynamic look. And it’s especially good-looking from the rear three-quarter views. 7.6 to 8.0-inches of ground clearance Equinox leans more crossover than an off-road sport utility vehicle. But you still have the option to give it that more rugged look. Plus with up to 8″ of ground clearance Equinox is ready for some light-duty off-pavement adventures. Exterior dimensions: Length: 183.1 Width 72.8 Height: 65.4 Track: Front: 62.2 Rear: 62.2 Ground clearance: 7.6 to 8.0 *All inches Inside The 2021 Equinox Inside the Equinox is class-leading-spacious and equally versatile. Depending on the trim, you can dance it up or tone it down. New for 2021, leather is available on the LT. Including perforated leather-appointed seating surfaces. 39.9″ backseat legroom And, the Premier trim that I drove was subtle but handsome inside. And all the surfaces had a quality feel to the touch. Interior dimensions: Headroom – w/out & w/ sunroof: Front 40/38.2 Rear 38.5/36.9 Legroom: Front 40.9 Rear 39.9 Shoulder room: Front 57.2 Rear 55.5 Hip room: Front 54.2 51.7 Also, there’s up to 63.9 cubic-feet of cargo space with the backseats folded down. And 29.9 cu-ft with the backseats up. Up to 63.9 cu-ft cargo volume Driver Assistance, Tech & Safety Chevy’s infotainment system is well designed. Because carmakers continue tinkering with just the right combination of touchscreen, buttons, and knobs. And General Motors, Chevy’s parent company, has a great interface dialed-in (pun intended). Premier trim cockpit Plus Chevrolet packs a lot of tech into Equinox. And that includes Chevy Safety Assist, a package of advanced safety technologies helping drivers avoid hazards. Driver Assistance Tech: Standard: Forward collision alert w/ automatic emergency braking Lane-keeping assistance w/ lane departure warning Following distance indicator Automatic high beam assist Front pedestrian braking Teen driver technology Rear seat reminder Rearview camera Available: Lane change alert w/ blindspot alert. High-definition surround vision. Adaptive cruise control. Rear cross-traffic alert. On-star connectivity. Rear park assist. Safety alert seat. 2021 Chevrolet Equinox Top-3 So, here are my Top-3 reasons for buying the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. Value – Overall bang for the buck is undeniable. Chevy packs a lot into its number two selling vehicle. And perhaps that’s why Equinox is second only to Silverado. Which really makes it first outside of pick-up trucks. Interior – Equinox is super-spacious inside. In fact, backseat passengers get nearly as much legroom as the driver! Plus there’s ample cargo space. And this makes Equinox both appealing and versatile. Technology – Finally, the safety technology that Chevy includes in Equinox is class-leading. In fact, it rivals luxury vehicles. Distracted Driving: Ultimate Avoidance Guide Keeps All Safe
Distracted driving can be tragic because the accidents it causes are 100% preventable. Want to know how? This distracted driving ultimate avoidance guide demonstrates what distracted driving is and how law enforcement like the California Highway Patrol is working to stop it. Too often, when Officer Simone Yarbrough of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) South L.A. office arrives at a crash scene, the driver is already dead. It’s worse when he sees a cell phone lying on the floor, still blinking, with a message half-written out. “Back in the day, DUI used to be the biggest killer of our drivers on the road,” Yarbrough said. “Well, not any longer. It’s distracted driving.” Parents must set the example for their kids. What is Distracted Driving? According to Yarbrough, our cell phones are a huge part of the problem. But, by no means, are they the only part of the problem. “Anything that takes your mind and your eyes off the road is distracted driving,” he said. “You can be drinking coffee, putting on makeup, shaving, eating food. People drive and read the newspaper at the same time.” Even helping a child or adjusting a navigation system can be distracted driving, because it moves the driver’s attention away from the road ahead. Yarbrough’s given citations for eating in a car. And he’s even pulled mothers over to educate them about the dangers of breastfeeding while driving. Parents Teach Your Kids When teens are involved in distracted driving incidents, Yarbrough extends some of the blame to the parents. Parents should never touch their cell phones while driving because their children will follow their example. They also need to be aware of where their kids are and who they’re with. Many teens who die in crashes are passengers of other teen drivers who were driving while distracted. Yarbrough applauds parents who set rules before their children get licensed and then don’t let their children break those rules. Cell Phones Are A Big Part Cell phone use is one of the biggest causes of distracted driving. That’s partly due to social media. People want to take pictures and post them immediately, whether they’re driving or not. “The bad part is it’s not just kids doing it,” Yarbrough said. “It’s not just teens doing it. You see adults doing it driving down the street and you’re like, ‘Come on now, if it’s that important to you, pull over and do it.'” Yarbrough said if someone uses their phone and causes a crash, it’s considered manslaughter or worse. It’s expensive, too. The first-time fine for using a cell phone while driving is $200. It goes up from there. Know the Numbers Every year, an average of 20,000 drivers in California are involved in crashes due to distracted driving. The United States Department of Transportation listed 2,841 deaths caused by distracted driving in 2018. Of those deaths, 605 were passengers, 400 were pedestrians, and 77 were bicyclists. “If you see something and you recognize something, it takes .75 seconds to just see it and recognize it, another .75 seconds to react,” Yarbrough said. “That’s already a second and a half, and you haven’t done anything yet. You’ve put your foot on the brake, and it’s almost a whole football field, if you’re traveling at 55 miles an hour, to come to a stop. So whatever stops in front of you at that kind of speed, you’re probably going to hit it.” Ending Distracted Driving The CHP works hard on education and prevention wherever it can. This includes using a yearlong Adult Distracted Driving grant recently provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The grant money provides for both in-person and virtual training sessions on distracted driving. The CHP plans to conduct several distracted driving enforcement operations, too, and it’s partnered with Impact Teen Drivers to offer distracted driving training to teens during the pandemic. These most recent efforts are backed up by several safety manuals that the CHP already had on hand. Two of them are specifically for teen drivers. Officers hope that these efforts inspire drivers to pay attention while driving and to stay safe on the roads. “It’s stuff that can be prevented,” Yarbrough said. 2021 Volkswagen Golf GTI Review: Bold Original Hot Hatch
I love the cornflower blue color of the 2021 Volkswagen Golf GTI. Because it’s not at all quiet. And reflective of the car’s potency. But there’s more to what makes the overall package so enticing. Because of what the car costs, it shouldn’t perform as well as it does. Plus it shouldn’t look as good as it does. And it shouldn’t be so darn fun to drive. So my Top-3 for the 2021 Volkswagen Golf GTI probably come as no surprise. ’21 VW Golf GTI Top-3: Value Performance Exterior design My friends at Ontario Volkswagen provided me with the gorgeous GTI pictured in this article. And that is the Southern California Volkswagen dealership you want to work with – for sure! –>Continue reading below or click play to listen.<– Ontario VW right by Ontario Airport :0) 2021 VW Golf GTI Prices & Trims For 2021 Volkswagen Golf GTI offers three trims; the S, SE and, Autobahn. The European carmaker indicates that all trims this year include special styling cues. And these cues are to indicate the final model year of the seventh-generation Golf GTI. For sure they are subtle. But like any artwork, you have a greater appreciation, once you know. So, what are they? Simple gloss black painted side-view mirrors and rear lip spoiler. Nice. :0) 2021 VW Golf GTI Trims & MSRPs: S – starts at $28,695 SE – $32,665 Autobahn $36,945 Engine, Transmission & MPG No matter which of the trims you go with your engine will be the same. It’s a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that puts out 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque Additionally, regardless of trim, you have two transmission options. And that’s either a fun 6-speed manual or an almost as fun 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. My advice would be to let your commute decide. So, if daily gridlock is your reality then go automatic because it also includes Tiptronic. Which is basically a clutchless manual. So, you get most of the fun without the work of the manual. But for me personally, I still love manually shifting sporty cars like GTI. ’21 VW Golf GTI MPG: Manual: 23/26/30 Automatic: 24/27/32 *City/combined/highway GTI’s curb weight varies only slightly. And that’s due to the transmission option. So a manual transmission clocks 3,133 pounds while the automatic weighs 3,210 lbs. What’s It Look Like? The final model year of the 7th generation VW GTI is unmistakable in appearance. It’s pure Volkswagen. And pure hot hatch. Especially in the cornflower blue color with the trademark red GTI accents. VW first introduced the cornflower blue in the 2019 Golf GTI Rabit Edition. And I was immediately captivated by the color. Cornflower blue! Thankfully, the good folks at V-Dub wound up with a few extra gallons of this gorgeous hue. It’s in high-demand and tough to find. Other, more readily available ’21 GTI colors include; dark iron blue metallic, deep black pearl, pure white, and tornado red. Exterior dimensions: Wheelbase: 103.6 Track front: 60.6 rear: 59.7 Length: 168.0 Width: 70.8 Height: 57.8 *All inches Inside The 2021 Volkswagen Golf GTI A flat-bottom steering wheel and a driver-focused cockpit are expected features for an enthusiast’s vehicle. Fit and finish = detail-focused value! And like the outside, the inside of the 2021 GTI is clearly a VW. But a marginally educated car-gal/guy could slide into the driver’s seat blindfolded and know it’s a GTI. Why? Massive, contouring and confidence-inspiring seat bolsters. Contoured seat bolsters. Of course, the GTI’s interior highlights Volkswagen’s detailed fit and finish. And the carmakers legendary engineering maximizes interior space even though it’s a small car. Interior dimensions: Headroom: 38.4/ 38.1 Shoulder room: 55.9/53.9 Legroom: 41.2/35.6 *All inches – front/rear The original hot hatch, GTI seats up to five adults surprisingly comfortably. And four adults can definitely road trip in the 5-door – minus luggage. Or too much luggage anyway. Up to 24.8 cu ft cargo space Because with 17.4 cubic-feet of cargo space with the backseats in use, you still have room for stuff. And with the backseats down, Golf GTI offers 24.8 cu-ft of stuff-space. Driver Assistance, Technology & Safety VW’s MIB infotainment touchscreens are included in all trims. An 8.0″ with navigation is standard in the SE and Autobahn. With a 6.5″ standard for the base-S trim. And if kicking (or simply crisp) sound is on your must-have list. Then you’ll appreciate the Fender premium sound system included with the Autobahn trim. Plus GTI comes with a solid line-up of driver assistance tech. 2o21 Golf GTI Driver Assistance-Safety Tech: Standard: Forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking w/ pedestrian detection (front assist) Blind-spot monitoring Rear traffic alert Available: Adaptive cruise control Lane-keeping assistance Park distance control Parking settering assistant Automatic high beam control ’21 Volkswagen Golf GTI: Top-3 So, back to my Top-3 reasons to buy the 2021 Volkswagen Golf GTI. Value: At the price-point, in this class, with this level of fit and finish, and performance there is no comparison to GTI. Best bang for the buck for sure. Performance: GTI is the original hot hatch. I normally am not a big fan of front-wheel drive performance vehicles but I love GTI. Great acceleration and even better handling. Exterior design: GTI’s trademark red accents always look good. But on the cornflower blue, with the wheels and the red calipers. Sweet! If I had a Top-4 instead of only Top-3 the interior could easily slide into position too. 2021 Chevrolet Camaro Review: Prices, Trims, Specs & Pics
Test driving the 2021 Chevy Camaro convertible for this review reminded me that my job ain’t that bad. :0) And, it highlighted that I no longer live in the Midwest! Because it was on an afternoon in December. Cruising along the Pacific Ocean. With the top down. In Southern California. So if you happen to be reading this from anywhere but SoCal, then I’m sorry you’re missing our mostly perfect-year-round weather. And a quick shoutout of thanks to my pals at Martin Chevy in Torrance, California. Because while they hook me up with lots of test drivers – this one was a special treat for sure! –>Continue reading below or click play to listen.<– 0 to 60 mph in 3.5-seconds! 2021 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible LT1 Specifically, I test drove a ’21 Chevy Camaro convertible LT1. And it was a blast! Because not only was it a convertible with a powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine. But also it was a 6-speed manual transmission. And I love driving a powerful manual trans from time to time! Trims & Pricing Of course, Camaro also comes with a top too. In fact, there are a number of trim options to pick from. And there is a Camaro within reach of every budget. But the equipment and performance widely vary. Starting MSRPs $25,995 to $71,590 The 2021 Chevy Camaro coupe starts at $25,995. It offers 8-different trims. The convertible starts at $43,495. And it offers 7-different trims. And the Camaro trims include; 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, 2SS & ZL1. There’s also a 1LS. That’s the base which is only available on the coupe. In addition to those trims, Chevy also offers a number of special edition packages. These include; Redline, Shock and Steel, RS, and 1LE. Finally, there are a couple of ‘Wild Cherry’ packages which, you guessed it, focus on special red paint schemes. Optional Supercharged V8 w/ 650 hp 2021 Chevy Camaro Engines & Transmissions Pretty much any trim for the ’21 Camaro offers a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic with paddle shifters. And something important to note for the driving purist. Camaro is the only Chevrolet performance vehicle that offers a stick shift. Because with the 2020 Corvette C8, the manual transmission has been dropped entirely. Engines So the engines are a big factor representing the huge price range of the 2021 Chevrolet Camaro. Because you can get a fuel-efficient turbocharged 4-cylinder with 275 horsepower and 295 bound feet of torque. The manual will give you 19 mpg in the city and up to 39 mpg on the highway. But, at the opposite end of the spectrum. You can run with a supercharged V8 that puts out 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. And that clocks a blistering 0-60 mph at 3.5-seconds. Plus, it’s surprisingly good on gas as well! The automatic delivers 13 mpg in the city and up to 21 mpg on the highway. Between those two opposites, Camaro also offers a V6 with 335 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque. And a V8, that’s not supercharged. It delivers 455 hp with 455 lb-ft of torque. 7-trim options w/ convertible What’s It Look Like? Even in its most basic trim, the 2021 Camaro is a tough, aggressive-looking sports car. I love it because it’s a throwback design. It pulls on the elements of its original American muscle car heritage. And since all factories are making more and more electric vehicles. Over time, that will make American muscle an even more special genre for car lovers and collectors. So, the Camaro looks fast and sporty in the base model. And then it goes through various levels of faster and sportier badness. Until it finally makes its way to looking like an adrenaline-fueled speeding ticket on the way to a tire-burning day at the track. But The Looks Shouldn’t Lie! But, I do have a general complaint. And all manufacturers do this. Whether it’s Chevy with the Camaro, Ford with Mustang, or Dodge with Challenger. In my personal opinion. There should only be two types of engines in American muscle cars. Really fast. And even faster. I wish they didn’t put 4 and 6-cylinders in these cars. But, I get it. They want to sell more cars. So, they insert the option for a peppy 4-cylinder or a respectable V6. And frankly, if I’m buying one of these for my new teenage driver, I’m going with a smaller engine too. Just to be safe. But still, I’m just sayin’… ya know? Driver oriented cockpit 2021 Chevrolet Camaro Interior Sliding into a 2021 Camaro, no matter the trim is a notable experience. Because there’s no doubt you’re entering a sports car. Of course the higher-level trim package you opt for, the sportier and more aggressive the interior details look and feel. All trims are very driver-focused. And all the surfaces in the LT1 that I test drove for this review felt high quality to the touch. And looked clean and aggressive. At the top trim levels, the interior looks and feels like a race car. With carbon fiber, microfiber, leather, and suede. Technology & Safety And the 2021 Chevrolet Camaro can come equipped with some impressive tech. That is for a car that’s focused on engine and performance and does it so well. Track-ready trims come with Performance Data Recorder which turns your driving performance into a voyeuristic video game. Because you get to watch and analyze after your run. But you don’t have to be in a track-ready trim to get head-up display and launch control tech features. Plus, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available. Alexa is built-in. Wireless phone charging is available. Legal Marijuana And DUI: Its Highly Illegal To Drive Impaired
As more people use marijuana in the COVID-era it’s important to remember that legal pot still results in DUI if you drive high. In 2018 it became legal to buy and sell cannabis in the State of California. But changes to the law brought up questions and concerns about safety, particularly about legal marijuana and DUIs. Driving under the influence of marijuana is as much an issue as an alcohol-related DUI because marijuana use can impair judgment, too. “If you’re going to be taking part in using cannabis, do it responsibly,” said Sergeant Oscar Chavez of the California Highway Patrol’s Impaired Driving Section. “Don’t Drive.” Before Legalization: Prepping for Legal Marijuana and DUI Training During 2017, police officers prepared for the legalization of marijuana with 52 hours of training. The training program, called Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE), taught police to detect people driving under the influence of cannabis. ARIDE includes a two-day course in recognizing the signs of sleep deprivation, drug use, and alcohol use. Unlike alcohol, there’s no breath test for marijuana use. But technologies are evolving, and could soon include mouth swab tests. However, when marijuana was first legalized, blood tests for finding cannabis in a driver’s bloodstream were the best bet. Chavez said that the training program brings in medical experts to teach police officers about all forms of impaired driving, from sleep deprivation to prescription drugs like Xanax and Vicodin. Cannabis Use and Car Drivers: Many Variables can Complicate Matters Alcohol enters the human system through drinking, but weed intake happens in a variety of ways. People can smoke it, eat it, and even rub it on their skin. Differing strains, THC levels, and even the individuality of the drivers can impact the information a police officer has to work with. “With cannabis, we have to take into consideration the user,” Chavez said. “Are they a long time user, short time user? We have to take into consideration how they ingest it. Is it edible? Are they using a sativa strain? Are they using an Indica strain? Sativa’s going to have some effects on a user, versus an Indica strain, or a hybrid strain, a combiniation of both.” What Happens Behind the Wheel: Legal Marijuana and DUI Arrests Chavez said when a DUI suspect is pulled over, officers determine whether an arrest is necessary. If the driver is arrested, officers use a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE) to figure out what’s causing the impairment. The DRE is a process that uses standard roadside impairment tests, as well as in-depth tests. The in-depth tests check problems such as pupil size, pulse rate, and blood pressure. The DRE can help rule out alcohol use and zero in on the possibility of driving under the influence of pot or other drugs. How Much Pot is Legal? It’s legal to purchase 28.5 grams of green, leafy marijuana. This purchase size is about the size of a filled sandwich bag. Buyers have to be 21 or older to purchase marijuana. However, if they’re caught with more than the legal amount, they’re only given an infraction charge, rather than a misdemeanor or felony charge. Infractions only include fines and citations. Chavez said the important thing to remember is that the laws and the DUI training for officers are there to keep people safe. Marijuana use is up to the user, but users shouldn’t drive while under the influence. “Just do it safely,” Chavez said. “Don’t get behind the wheel.” More safety tips from the CHP –> Distracted Driving

Southern California Automotive Museums: World Famous
Move over, Detroit. Southern California is the automotive capital of the United States and the world. And among many other reasons, Southern California deserves this moniker because of its plethora of world-class automotive museums. They range from life-size Hot Wheels collections to Bugatti and Ferrari exhibits and much more. iDriveSoCal’s (opinionated) contributor Clinton “The Professor” Quan created a list of his top five favorites. But there’s more for sure. So you can listen to the Professor and I debate his Top-5 and continue reading below for even more Southern California Automotive Museums. Top Five Southern California Automotive Museums The Marconi Automotive Museum – Tustin 1. Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin: Non-Profit Benefiting Kids The Marconi Automotive Museum is the only car museum in Orange County. It’s open Monday through Friday, with some events on the weekends. Besides a yearly open house, this museum hosts fight nights and private events, and it donates profits to children’s charities. The car collection includes several Ferraris, as well as other race cars. The Automobile Driving Museum – El Segundo 2. Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo: A Special Place For Generations The Automobile Driving Museum is one of the most unique Southern California museums. It was first located in West Los Angeles. It later moved to the South Bay in El Segundo, near LAX, because it outgrew its former location. This museum stands out because every Sunday, three different classic cars are brought out of the collection, and car enthusiasts can ride in them. The museum is located in a garage because all of the cars regularly take a turn for those weekend drives. There’s a separate building where this museum hosts Hot Wheels weekend events, which includes real life-size versions of Mattel Hot Wheels cars. The Petersen Automotive Museum – Los Angeles 3. Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles: One of the Largest Southern California Automotive Museums The Petersen Automotive Museum showcases its collection of more than 300 cars in over 10,000 square feet of exhibit space in the heart of Los Angeles. It’s one of the largest car museums in the United States. This museum is well known for its events and for its unique exhibits, such as the classic Japanese car collection or its low rider collection. The exhibits change often, so visitors never get bored. This museum is also developing programs to help attract children toward future jobs in the automotive industry. The Nethercutt Collection – Sylmar 4. The Nethercutt Collection in Sylmar: Elegant Cars and More The Nethercutt Collection is a hidden gem with more than 200 cars on display. This collection has won the Best of Show award at Pebble Beach more often than any other collection. All of the cars showcased here are Concours d’Elegance caliber. This museum has two sets of buildings. One allows car fans to take self-guided tours, but the other building requires reservations and guided tours, and it’s only open a few days per week. Besides vintage cars, this museum also displays musical instruments and furniture. Mullin Automotive Museum – Oxnard 5. Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard: The Professor’s Favorite The Mullin Automotive Museum, which is located in Ventura County, features all French cars in its collection. The exhibits include Bugatti and Wago models, but the museum is only open to the general public two days a month. Car enthusiasts who want special showings on weekdays pay double the price. The museum is located in what was previously The Vintage Museum, founded by Los Angeles Times publisher Otis Chandler. It’s since been renovated, with a floor plan that allows plenty of space for the cars on display. Honorable Mentions Because you cannot leave out a few other Southern California Automotive Museums here’s the list continued. Each with its own niche. National Hot Rod Association’s Motorsports Museum – Pomona Murphy Automotive Museum – Oxnard The Motte Historical Car Museum – Menifee California Route 66 Museum – Victorville Lyon Air Museum – Santa Ana Air Force One Pavillion – Simi Valley

BMW Performance Center: The Ultimate Driving Location
The BMW Performance Center in Thermal, California is a driver’s paradise. Because the driving school in Riverside County basically lets you go nuts in real fast, real performance vehicles. Plus you can take your skills (or lack of) off-road too. So when the offer to experience the track arrived the answer was simple; when should we arrive? :0) The Professor & Me – COVID-Style BMW Performance Center West At The Thermal Club Unless you’re very lost and/or off-roading in the desert you’re unlikely to find The Thermal Club. Well, there’s one other exception, and that’s if you’re a very rich auto enthusiast. Because The Thermal Club is tucked away in Southern California near pretty much nothing. And that’s exactly what makes this car-guy country club perfect! At this club, you can hop in your car and drive it as loud as you want all day long. In fact, that’s what you’re supposed to do! And BMW is the biggest club member. So if you don’t have the $1.5M to drop on club membership, no worries. Because you can still get a taste through the BMW Performance Center West. In case you’re wondering, yes, there is a BMW Performance Center East. And that one’s been around for 20-years. While The Thermal Club location isn’t quite 5-years old. Professional Instruction At The BWM Performance Center On the day Professor Quan and I went the Center was thankfully quiet. It was just us and a couple of women from San Francisco. Plus our instructor, Dave McMillan. He’s the professional racecar driver who masterfully ushered us through the entire experience. Pro racer, Dave McMillan guiding our class. And while we were driving solo almost the whole time, Dave stayed in touch via radios in each of our vehicles. Dave was great throughout the experience. He was eager to share his passion for driving and his expertise behind the wheel. Moreover, he was an encouraging and patient instructor. And I would know. Because I was probably the worst on-road performance driver in our group – by a longshot. Yes, even the girls were faster than me. (Sigh!) Your Ultimate Driving Experience Options So, the BMW Performance Center offers a number of driving experience options. You can head out solo or, you can bring up to 600 of your closest pals. We were given the introductory course which costs just $299. But a single driver can drop thousands on multi-day experiences. While there’s not much nearby the BMW Performance Center, we stayed in Indian Wells at the Hyatt Regency. That’s only about a 30-minute drive to and from. And the hotel was perfect. Because while I hit the track my wife and son enjoyed the lazy river and waterslides at the resort. (Everybody wins!) Our Day At The Track The package Professor Quan and I received is called ‘Performance Drive’. And it’s a sampling of the various experiences that are available. It’s an entry-level course but a blast nonetheless. We started with classroom instruction – COVID-style outdoors. Dave laid out how the session would proceed and covered some basics. Sure-footed X7 Off-Road Then we hopped in BMW X7’s and headed through The Thermal Club to the off-road course. That part of the session was slow in actual speed. But it was also cool because it was technical driving. And, I can state my performance was quite good with this part of the session! On-Road But then came the on-road track driving. And my lack of speed-skills was displayed in all full-splendor. Because I was barrelling into corners way too fast. Then trying to muscle my way out of the terrible position I put myself in. I was literally sweating and grunting and grunting during my first lap. But I was having a blast! Our launch site. BMW Performance Center Hot Lap! Finally, it was time for our hot lap! That’s where you get in the car with a professional driver and they show you how it’s done. And wow, Dave did not disappoint! So the below pic shows Dave sliding sideways around the track with the San Francisco ladies in our class. Clinton and I were next. Hot lap: by Dave McMillan As part of the hot lap experience, Dave turns off all traction controls and driver assistance features. Allowing him to own the car. And what a car! A BMW M5 Competition retails around $130k. And it’s basically a racecar with leather seats. But, The Professor and I had our hot lap cut in half. Because Dave literally burned the rubber off the wheels! Tread = gone! However, half a hot lap was all we needed. The ride was incredible. Better than any amusement park ride I’d ever been on. And Dave controlled the car in a way that I’ve never experienced. It was incredible, I was literally howling with laughter! Midway through a sideways-slide he’d slap the gear shifter or tweak the wheel and the car would respond sending us another direction. So cool! We’ll Be Back! All-in our experience was less than 2-hours of driving. And while it went by quickly I felt spent at the end. My adrenaline had pumped plenty. Plus, being such a terrible on-road performance driver didn’t have helped my fatigue-factor. But without a doubt, we’ll be back to the BMW Performance Center West. It’s a killer venue and experience. If you haven’t been – go!

2021 Chevrolet Colorado [ZR2] Review, Prices, Specs & Pics
The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is a beautiful midsize beast with upgrades for this year. So, the ZR2 is near Chevy’s top trim, off-road-ready truck. And while it comes with serious off-road capabilities. It drives and handles surprisingly smooth on-road too. Colorado ZR2’s already rugged and athletic good looks get even better for 2021. With a new frontend and tailgate, all Colorado trim levels get a light front (and rear) facelifts this year. For this review, my friends at Martin Chevrolet in Torrance, CA gave me the gorgeous ZR2 pictured throughout this article. 2021 Chevy Colorado Top-3: Exterior style. Interior comfort. The Drive. –>Continue reading click play below to listen.<– 18 city / 25 highway MPG I wouldn’t have guessed the 2021 Chevy Colorado continues only the second generation for the vehicle. But, that’s the case. Here in the United States, Colorado started with the model year 2004 through ’12 for the first-gen. And from then until now (so far) for the second generation. But with it’s big-brother Silverado being Chevy’s top-selling vehicle. Midsize Colorado has kept pace with Chevrolet’s excellence in pick-up truck manufacturing. 2021 Chevrolet Colorado Trims & Pricing Chevrolet doesn’t mess around when it comes to trim options. Because they want to make sure there’s one for every need and everyone. 2021 Colorado Trims & Starting MSRPs: WT $30,295 LT $32,395 Z71 $36,695 ZR2 $42,795 So, the above trims are your starting point and then you can go crazy with additional options and accessories. Because it’s a Chevy truck and that’s what they do. :0) Multiple Special Edition Packages Cabs & Beds But don’t forget, when truck buying, you have two other big factors. And those are; 1) the type of cab you go with and, 2) the length of bed you select. Engines, Transmissions, Towing & MPG The 2021 Colorado offers three different powerplants. And that includes an efficient 4-cylinder, V6 (my choice), and an available turbo-diesel. Engines & Estimated Fuel Economy: 2.5-Liter 4-cylinder 200 Horsepower 191 pound-feet of torque 3,500 towing capability 19 MPG city / 25 highway 3.6-Liter V6 308 hp 272 lb-ft of torque 7,000 towing capacity 18 mpg city / 25 highway 2.8-Liter Duramax turbo-diesel 181 hp 369 lb-ft of torque 7,700 towing capacity 18 mpg city / 28 mpg highway Configuration depending. Transmissions And when it comes to transmissions, of course, you have your optional 2 or 4-wheel drive. But additionally, for the 2021 Chevy Colorado, you have the option of an available 6-speed manual transmission or the 8-speed automatic. 301 hp | V6 2021 Chevy Colorado Exterior Consider that Colorado easily morphs into whatever form and function you’re appetite desires. Whether that’s beast, beauty, or something in between. Crew Cab 140.5″ wheelbase / 224.9″ length Special Edition Packages The ZR2 package is pictured throughout this article. And it clearly begs to be taken off the beaten path. But you can take that off-road-readiness to the next level with the ZR2 Bison package. Conversely if on-road is more your truck-driving style then, there are the Redline or the Z71 Midnight offerings. And if lean toward a complete blackout the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado also offers the ZR2 Dusk and Midnight editions. Look Inside The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado There’s no lack of creature comforts inside Chevy Colorado. Of course the particular options you receive depend largely on the trim you select. Class-leading comfort. Nevertheless, the space inside Colorado is ample and well designed. I love the simple user-interface of the center console. And the logical placement and simple usability of controls on the steering wheel. Out-of-sight storage Plus smart and versatile storage space under the backseat is always a telltale sign of a well-engineered truck. Infotainment & Safety Technology Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are both available, along with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot. Plus lots of USB ports and wireless charging and newly introduced Amazon Alexa. Simple User-Interface Driver Assistance Safety The rearview camera is standard. And available driver assistance features include forward collision alert, lane departure warning, and rear park assistance. 2021 Chevy Colorado Top-3 So, my Top-3 reasons to buy the 2021 Chevy Colorado are simple. And that’s pretty much what a truck should be. Because it’s as much a life’s tool as it is a vehicle. Exterior style: Whether your configuration is on-road, off-road, or work truck, Colorado is a great looking truck. Interior comfort: For a midsize, Colorado is arguably the most comfortable driving vehicle in its class. The Drive: And speaking of the drive, the 2021 Colorado is a great driver both on and off-road. 62.4″ track / 74.3″ width Martin Chevrolet – SoCal Chevy Dealer Go to Martin Chevrolet in Torrance, CA to get your 2021 Chevy Colorado configured exactly to your specs. 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV Review, Prices, Features & Pics
The 2020 Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle is, by EPA classification, a small wagon. But I refer to it as a subcompact 4-door hatchback. Or, if you prefer, a 5-door. It’s quick, nimble, and fun to drive. And the overall value is hard to beat. 2020 Chevy Bolt EV Top-3: Safety The drive Interior Space For this review, my friends at Martin Chevrolet provided a Premier trimmed 2020 Chevy Bolt EV. New For 2020 Increasing driving range to 259-miles. That’s on a full charge and EPA estimate. And it equals a 21-miles increase over last year’s Bolt. Also new is a crystal clear rearview camera with a birdseye view. Plus Chevy adds a couple of color options. –>Continue reading or click play below to listen.<– Up to 100-miles in 30-mins Trims & Pricing For 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV As with 2019, the Bolt comes in two trims. There’s the LT and the upline Premier. Trim Configurations & MSRPs: LT: $36,620 Premier: $41,020 Chevy keeps it easy with two trims. But they also offer many available options with both. Included in most of my reviews are the manufacturers suggested starting retail prices. Those are provided as reference only. For the best pricing and buying experience, I suggest you go to Martin Chevrolet in Torrance, California. Also, since Bolt is an EV, don’t forget to check what state and federal laws and incentives might apply. Engine & Transmission I love Bolt’s torque-on-demand. Touch the accelerator and go. It’s electric motor delivers the equivalent of 200-horsepower with 266 pound-feet of torque. And it seems way faster than its reported 0-60 mph of 6.5 seconds. 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque Additionally, it offers one-pedal driving. So, by simply releasing the accelerator Bolt automatically brakes. And that braking is actually regenerating the battery. Plus you can increase that regenerative braking. By applying a large-button-like paddle. One-Pedal Driving It’s located on the back of the left side of the steering wheel. And it’s reminiscent of a handbrake. But for a car, which feels odd and then fun to use. Of course, in urgent situations, you want to make use of the traditional brake pedal. :0) 2020 Chevy Bolt EV – Battery, Range & Charging There’s an available DC fast-charging system that enables the battery to be charged up to 100 miles of range in 30-minutes. Chevy Approved DC Fast-Charging installers HERE. But there are other ways to get up to that full 259-mile battery life I mentioned at the top of this article. With 240-volts you can plan on a full charge in about 10-hours. Or with 120-volts you can expect about 4-miles of range per hour. (Yeah, this way takes a while.) Plus Chevrolet includes an 8 year / 100k mile battery warranty. And that also covers certain electric components. Exterior Looks Having been on the road for a few years. You might be getting used to seeing Chevy Bolts driving around. Premier Trim Among similarly priced EVs and hybrids it’s one of the best looking. Not as appealing as a Tesla Model S. But then again, it’s nowhere near the price either. Exterior Dimensions: Wheelbase: 102.4 Overall Length: 164 Width: 69.5 Height: 62.8 Track Front: 59.1 Rear: 59.1 *Inches Inside The 2020 Chevy Bolt EV I’m a big fan of versatility. And the inside of the 2020 Chevy Bolt EV excels in the category. 41.6-inches of front legroom Its simple clean interior delivers a less-is-more feel and functionality. 36.5″ backseat legroom And the lack of backseat hump makes Bolt comfortable for 5-adults. Although I’d keep it to 4-adults for extended drives and road trips. Up to 56.6 cu-ft of cargo space Additionally, there’s plenty of cargo space to work within the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV. And you’ll notice the hand-shaped hole in the floor pictured above. Under-floor storage Smartly, that panel comes completely off. Or elegantly props up for additional storage. So Bolt offers up to 56.6 cu-ft of cargo volume. And with the backseats up 16.9 cu-ft. Interior Dimensions: Legroom: 41.6/36.5 Headroom: 39.7/37.9 Shoulder room: 54.6/52.8 Hip room: 51.6/50.8 *Front/rear 2020 Chevy Bolt Technology The 2020 Chevy Bolt tech is impressive. And, as the overall Chevy lineup goes electric, it likely offers a glimpse of things to come. Like, one-pedal driving. And battery power regeneration on-demand with ‘psuedo-handbrake.’ 10.2″ flip-board touchscreen Plus the ‘floating’ instrument panel holding a 10.2-inch-diagonal flip-board operational touchscreen is simple to use. But also elegant in a sort of ‘spartan’ design. And at your fingertips within that touchscreen is all sorts of range and battery data. Along with connectivity through the Available myChevrolet Mobile App. With Energy Assist included for 5-years. Safety Tech & Driver Assistance So, the 2020 Chevy Bolt EV receives top marks from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. And that’s NHTSA’s Overall 5-Star Safety Rating. HD so clear you can see road stains :0) Additionally, one of my favorites as well as any parents is the Chevrolet Teen Driver technology. That standard feature acts as a report card on your son or daughter’s performance behind the wheel. :0) Available Safety Tech: Rear park assist HD surround vision Rear camera mirror Forward collision alert Rear cross-traffic alert Front pedestrian braking Automatic emergency braking Lane change alert w/ blindspot alert Lane keep assist w/ lane departure warning 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV Top-3 Safety: The available safety tech, standard Teen Driver and new HD birdseye are great. But NHSTA Overall 5-Star Rating is tops. The drive: Being an electic vehicle, it’s quick. But it’s also very nimble. And effortless to drive. Plus the regen braking adds a fun dimension. Interior Space: It feels bigger than it’s class rating suggests. And thanks to smart interior design it acts that way too. Both for passengers and cargo. 2020 Volkswagen Arteon SEL R-Line Review, Trims, & Prices
The 2020 Volkswagen Arteon sits in a class of its own. As a (large) midsize, five-door fastback there’s nothing quite like it. Because, in the US, there’s no other European non-luxury offering that compares. Great looks, technology and, engineering equate to a value proposition you can’t ignore. Ontario Volkswagen is my go-to for VW test drives and this review. 2020 VW Arteon Top-3: Exterior styling Interior design Value –>Continue reading or click play below to listen.<– 268 hp & 258 lb-ft of torque Trims & Pricing For 2020 VW Areton Arteon is in its second model-year. As typical for year-two of new models, more trims options are rolled out. And that’s the case for Arteon this year. Here are your 2020 options. 2020 VW Arteon Trims & MSRPs: SE: $35,995 w/ 4MOTION: $37,895 SEL: $39,995 R-Line: $41,745 4MOTION: $41,895 w/ R-Line & 4MOTION: $43,645 SEL Premium w/R-Line & 4MOTION: $47,695 Often times, Volkswagen will have even more trim options. We’ll see what 2021 and beyond brings. Engines, Transmissions And Fuel Economy Regardless of your trim selection. Arteon comes with the same powerful engine and transmission combination. And the engine is a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder. It delivers 268-horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. 4MOTION is VW’s All-wheel drive That engine is matched with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. FWD or AWD In Volkswagen’s universe all-wheel drive is called 4MOTION. And 4MOTION quite common across VW’s lineup. For the 2020 Arteon, I might go with just two-wheel drive/front-wheel drive. Because it feels a bit quicker than the 4MOTION option. But, I have zero data to back that up. :0) MPG Interestingly, no matter AWD or FWD, highway fuel economy is rated at 29 mpg. Whereas the FWD will give you 22 mpg in the city. And 4MOTION is rated for 20 mpg in the city. The slight differing factor in fuel economy definitely has to do with the different curb weights. FWD is 3,655 to 4MOTION’s 3,854 lbs. What Does 2020 Volkswagen Arteon Look Like? If I had to pick, exterior styling is my favorite aspect of the 2020 VW Arteon. Because it’s an incredibly sharp-looking sports sedan. SEL R-Line Trim MSRP $41,745 In fact, it looks like a much more expensive vehicle. It’s wide and low stance with the swooping fastback gives it an elegant coupe-look. Standard LED headlights and taillights Arteon looks big from the outside. And though the EPA classifies it as a large vehicle. But it handles and maneuvers like the midsize that it’s mostly referred to as. Exterior Dimensions: Wheelbase: 111.7 Track: Front: 62.5 Rear: 62.1 Length: 191.4 Width: 73.7 Height: 56.5 Ground clearance: 5.4 *Inches 2020 VW Arteon Interior & Specifications Inside Arteon is big. Plus, it is a Volkswagen, so it’s well laid out with top-notch fit and finish for the money. Stone grey & raven leather interior You can’t mistake the look of the interior. But when it comes to the feel and design inside of the SEL R-Line that I test drove. You could mistake it for a luxury vehicle. 40.2″ backseat legroom In addition, Arteon offers ample space for both passengers and cargo. In fact, front and backseat passengers enjoy nearly the same amount of legroom! 27.2 cu-ft cargo volume And with the backseats folded down the fastback provides up to 55 cubic-feet of cargo space. Interior Volume: Headroom: 37.7/37.0 Legroom: 41.2/40.2 Shoulder room: 56.5/54.7 *Inches Infotainment Technology If my Top-3 list was a Top-4 list then infotech would make the cut for the 2020 Volkswagen Arteon. Because I love Volkswagen’s digital cockpit. It’s standard on all SEL trims. And it provides a completely customized view of in-dash instrumentation. Digital cockpit on SEL trim and above So a monitor sits in-dash where instrumentation gauges have traditionally been placed. And you can customize that monitor however you like. Plus you can save multiple custom profiles for quick access. Also standard for all trims is Volkswagen’s Car-Net telematics system. It’s VW’s app for keeping you connected to your car. But for 2020 many of the subscription services are free for the first 5-years. Driver Assistance & Safety Tech And VW checks most of the boxes with driver assistance tech. If it’s a feature that isn’t already standard then it’s available. Driver Assistance Tech: Standard Forward collision warning and autonomous braking w/ front assist Automatic post-collision braking Intelligent crash response system Rearview camera Blindspot monitor Rear traffic alert Reactive hood Available Adaptive cruise control w/ stop & go Auto high beam control Overhead view camera Park steering assist Lane keep assist 2020 VW Arteon Top-3 Exterior styling – Arteon punches above it’s weight-class in the looks category. It should cost more than it does on appearance alone. Interior design – It’s a VW so attention to detail, fit, and finish come standard. But it’s even better with the fastback design. Lots of space. Value – When you put the whole package together Volkswagen Arteon stands alone in European value. 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Review, Prices, Pics, Trims & Specs
Refreshed, the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas remains an incredible value. And what’s impressive is that it carries over the same starting MSRP from last year. Exterior front and rear updates enhance its bold design. And a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is now available on top trims. Plus full LED lighting is now standard along with next-gen VW Car-Net telematics. Also, extra driver-assist safety features. 2021 VW Atlas Top-3: Value Technology Interior space My friends at Ontario VW hooked me up with a 2021 VW Atlas SEL Premium with 4MOTION for this review. And, in case you’re wondering, the official color is pure white. –>Continue reading or click play below to listen.<– 117.3″ wheelbase & 200.7″ length 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Trims & Prices Many trim options are available. In fact, VW offers a total of 15-different trims. But, in typical VW fashion, they’re all broken down to S, SE, and SEL primary options. And from there you have engine options. Plus packages like Premium, Technology, and R-Line. Here are the ranges. Trims & Starting MSRPs: S: $31,545 to $33,445 SE: 34,895 to $41,595 SEL: $42,295 to $48,995 Ontario VW is where I send all my friends, listeners and readers. I’m happy to connect you. Just email me: tom [at] idrivesocal [dot]com. Engines, Transmissions & MPG 2021 Atlas is powered by two different engines. There’s the 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder. That’s turbocharged and puts out 235 horsepower with 258 pound-feet of torque. 18″ wheels standard – 20 & 21″ wheel available Also, there’s the bigger V6. And it’s a 3.6L. Putting out 276 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. Either engine will give you the same transmission. And that’s an 8-speed automatic whether you go with front-wheel or all-wheel drive (4MOTION). Fuel Economy Efficiency in the fuel consumption department depends on your engine and transmission configuration. But the turbocharged inline 4-cylinder will give you about 20 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway. And the bigger V6 is rated to deliver 16 in the city with AWD and up to 23 on the highway with FWD. 2021 VW Atlas Exterior & Updates Both the front and rear have been spruced-up. A bit bolder looking and more athletic. Subtle to the uneducated eye. But I’ll point out a difference from last year that’s easy to notice. 78.4″ width & 70.1″ height So, the three chrome horizontal bars running across the grill. Last year, those were only two. :0) Other than that the lines are a bit more defined. Specifically the curvature of them. 8″ ground clearance & up to 4,612 lb curb weight Updates to the rear are tough to identify. But it looks more modern overall. And if not for the Volkswagen badge it could be mistaken for an Audi. Exterior Dimensions: Wheelbase 117.3 Track: Front: 67.0 Rear: 67.6 Length: 200.7 Width: 78.4 Height: 70.1 Ground clearance: 8.0 *Above inches Depending on your config, the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas has different towing capacities. And they range from 2,000 to 5,000 lbs. Likewise, your config impacts the vehicle’s total curb weight as well. Ranging from 4,248 to 4,612 lbs. 2021 VW Atlas Interior Inside the Atlas is huge. Factoring the ample space with a smart and simple VW design provides a very versatile interior. Up to 96.8 cu-ft of cargo space Both rows of backseats lay flat. And with nearly 100 cubic-feet of cargo space. Any typical family will be able to haul whatever they need. 33.7″ of third-row legroom Snapping pictures from the 3rd-row seats was no problem. Because the 3rd-row gives you 33.7-inches of legroom. 37.6″ of legroom in the 2nd-row And that’s plenty, even for a full-grown adult. Plus getting to the 3rd-row seating is easy. So, if you go with captains chairs in the 2nd-row you are left with one-less total seating capacity. But those captains chairs are comfortable. 61.5″ 1st-row shoulder room So the interior of my Atlas SEL Premium was the Titan Black & Quartzite Leather. And I found it to be quality to the touch. Also, the seats were both comfortable and breathable on a hot Inland Empire day. :0) Plus the white accent stitching is a classy touch. Interior dimensions: Headroom: 41.3/40.4/38.3 Shoulder room: 61.5/60.8/54.9 Legroom: 41.7/37.9/33.7 *All inches Infotainment Technology in 2021 VW Atlas Perhaps my favorite tech element in the 2020 VW Atlas is the available digital cockpit. A feature that’s long been part of Audis (VW’s luxe sibling) it greatly enhances your driving experience. Available digital cockpit By allowing you to customize your in-dash display it delivers a more evolved sense of motoring. What’s more, is that you can save different profiles. And I love that. Because my wife would have one profile. And I’d have two. One for my daily driving and one for my extended highway runs. VW Car-Net telematics standard Additionally, Volkswagen’s Car-Net telematics is now standard across all trims. And that’s significant because the best parts of that subscription service are free for the first 5-years. Driver Assistance & Safety Tech Plus, the 2021 Atlas can come packed with driver assistance and safety technology. Standard Safety & Assistance Tech: Forward collision warning & auto emergency braking w/ pedestrian monitoring Blindspot monitor w/ rear traffic alert Automatic post-collision braking Rearview camera Available: Adaptive cruise control Lane keep assist Park distance control Park steering assist High beam control Traffic jam assist Dynamic road sign display Overhead view camera 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Top-3 Value: The overall package that VW’s Atlas offers has always been tough to beat. A non-luxury European rival simply doesn’t exist. Technology: The safety tech is great. But the digital cockpit really pivots the driving experience. Giving us a taste of what the future will bring. Interior space: This midsize rivals the inside space of some full-size SUVs. And that’s impressive. But it’s not just raw space. It’s easily converted for people or stuff. Courtesy of Ontario VW And for your 2021 VW Atlas go see my friends at Ontario Volkswagen. They’re in Southern California’s Inland Empire. Right by the Ontario Airport. Volkswagen’s Line-up of SUVs
