History Of Chevrolet Vehicles – Trucks, SUVs, Cars, EVs And Vans
The History Of Chevrolet - the bow-tie brand or just, Chevy. We experience the brand daily.  So causes most of us to take the legendary American carmaker for granted.  Because of that, it can be hard to fully appreciate its significance. ⇒ iDriveSoCal's Chevrolet Dealer is Martin Chevy in Torrance, California But where did the American brand of cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans come from?  How did it get its start?  Who are Chevrolet's founders?  And why did they create Chevrolet vehicles in the first place? What Is The History of Chevrolet? Here we're going to unpack a bit of the history of Chevrolet.  And yes, just a bit.  Because there are volumes written about Chevy and its rich American history.  So we'll focus on the 'nuts and bolts.' This iconic American carmaker is part of our daily lives.  And that's whether we see the commercials, read about the vehicles, drive the cars or work with the brand in any number of ways. What Does Chevrolet mean? Throughout the history of Chevrolet one of the common questions is exactly what the name means?  Or where did Chevrolet come from? And the answer might surprise you.  Because Chevrolet is the last name of an engineer, racecar driver, and mechanic.  Louis Chevrolet was born in Switzerland and lived from 1878 to 1941. Why is Chevrolet called Chevy? Consequently, the next question after what does Chevrolet mean is; Why is Chevrolet called Chevy? And, the moniker Chevy is merely short for Chevrolet.  Similar to how Smitty is to Smith. Who Owns Chevrolet? Chevrolet is owned by the General Motors Corporation.  And GM was founded in 1908 in Flint, Michigan. Over the years GM has owned many automotive brands.  But Chevy has consistently been the top seller.  And Chevrolet's current sibling brands under the General Motors umbrella include Buick, GMC, and Cadillac. To clarify GM owns other brands in the automotive industry.  But those other brands do not manufacture cars, trucks, SUVs, or vans. For example, GM owns OnStar, AC Delco, and GM Financial.  Plus emerging technology brands that pertain to the future of mobility.  Like electric vehicles and autonomous driving. Who Founded Chevrolet And When? Considering the brand of Chevrolet vehicles was named after a man it's natural to assume he's the founder.  However, in the history of Chevrolet, it's not exactly the case. Because the primary founder was a more legendary car guy by the name of William C. Durant.  'Billy' Durant lived from 1861 through 1947.  And he was an automotive marketer. So Durant leveraged Chevrolet's name as a racecar driver in creating the Chevrolet brand of vehicles.  It's kind of ironic that Durant (the marketer) is a name very few know.  Whereas Chevrolet (the mechanic, driver, engineer) is the name known around the world. When Was Chevy Founded? Chevrolet was founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1911. But Billy Durant and Louis Chevrolet weren't entirely alone in the endeavor.  Because Durant gathered investors who are also considered founders. Also, many people wonder which came first, GMC or Chevrolet?  And the answer is that GMC, technically, came before Chevrolet.  But like much of history there are caveats to that. How And Why Was Chevrolet Started? Billy Durant was pushed out of General Motors.  And he wasn't happy about it.  So, he aimed to start another car company. Durant took his business acumen and marketing skills.  Adding Louis Chevrolet's name, reputation, mechanical skills, and racing experience.  And aimed at taking on Ford and its top-selling Model T.   Southern California Chevy Dealer What Was The First Chevrolet Madein History? The first Chevrolet ever made was in 1911 and it was the Series C Classic Six. It was priced at $2,150.  More expensive and bigger than what Chevrolet would soon become known for.  And that's what the brand represents today.  Quality and affordable vehicles. Also,

2022 Chevrolet Equinox Review, Prices, Trims, Features Specs + Photos
The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox gets a refresh this year. And the Bow Tie brand does its top-selling SUV well by the adjustments it delivers. In fact in the entire Chevy vehicle line-up, sales of the compact sport-ute are bested only by Silverado. With that in mind, it makes sense that Chevrolet pays extra-special attention to the 5-seat Equinox and its upgrades. So let's unpack the details in this review, starting with the Top-3 things that make this compact crossover so popular. ⇒ Martin Chevrolet Is iDriveSoCal's Chevy HQ 2022 Chevy Equinox Top-3: Drive Safety Interior Compact Crossover/SUV - up to 31 MPG What's New For 2022 Chevy Equinox SUV At first glance, the '22 Equinox is noticeably updated by the refreshed front and rear fascias. Often these are the areas that carmakers focus on for updates, but Chevy designers get kudos for this one.  Because it takes closer inspection to determine if the vehicle is all-new or just spruced up. Chevrolet also ads its popular RS offering to the Equinox trim line-up for 2022.  That's Rally Sport for the uninitiated.  And as the name suggests, it delivers a sportier appearance among other upgrades. Additionally, the bow tie brand adds some new exterior colors for '22.  Including Cherry Red Tintcoat, Iron Gray Metallic, Seaglas Blue Metallic, and Blue Glow Metallic - some at an extra cost. Finally, there's some new technology available in the '22 Equinox.  And that covers available auto parking assist and front and rear park assist along with Outside heated adjustable mirrors. But the favorite tech enhancement that most road warriors will appreciate is the addition of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability. 1.5L Turbocharged Inline 4-cylinder Trims And MSRPs For 2022 Chevy Equinox comes in four optional trim configurations.  With the starting manufacturers suggested retail price is $25,800. LS $25,800 LT $26,900 RS $30,100 Premier $31,000 Engine, Transmissions, And MPG There is a bit of engine news or 2022.  And that is that your choice of engines got much easier.  Because Chevy is offering only one this year. Engine However, it's an enthusiastic 1.5-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder Ecotec engine.  Plus that power plant delivers 170 horsepower with 203 pound-feet of torque. Transmission Likewise, there's a single transmission option, but with a two or all-wheel drive decision to make. So the trans is a six-speed automatic.  It pairs nicely with the motor and keeps the driving experience confident and enjoyable. And Equinox is more of a crossover than an SUV.  This is evidenced in the transmission area with the two-wheel-drive option being front-wheel drive rather than the power coming from the rear wheels. Fuel Economy As expected, with the only differences being FWD and AWD the estimated fuel economy is quite similar. Specifically, the FWD will give you 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.  Whereas the AWD is estimated to deliver 25 mpg in the city and 30 out on the open road. 183.1-inches long + 72.6" wide What's The '22 Chevy Equinox Look Like? With this refresh, the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox looks sportier for sure.  But also it appears a little wider and bolder. And this brings the overall styling of the compact SUV more in line with the appearance of its brethren.  Specifically, the Trailblazer and Blazer, both of which returned to Chevy's lineup in recent years. And upon their return, they both ushered in the more sleek and sporty look that the 2022 Equinox represents. Exterior Dimensions: Length 183.1 Wheelbase 107.3 Height 65.4 Width 72.6 Track: front 62.2 rear 62.2 Ground clearance 7.6-plus varies *All inches The '22 Equinox curb weight varies depending on the trim and drivetrain.  But the range is 3,274 to 3,512 lbs. 2022 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Review, Prices, Trims, Features + Pics
The 2022 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is refreshed this year.  And I like what The People's Car people have done! For sure the compact sedan always delivers on stylish good looks and performance.  Furthermore, they always manage to do it at a great price point. But even with that in mind, it feels like VW has leveled up its game for this refresh.  Perhaps you'll agree as we unpack this review. Ontario Volkswagen ⇒ iDriveSoCal's Official Volkswagen Dealer 2022 VW Jetta GLI Top-3: Styling Technology Value What's New For 2022 VW Jetta GLI? So the front grill and rear bumper are the most noticeable areas of the 2022 GLI's refreshment. And both are enhancements that play perfectly to the target market of Jetta driving enthusiasts.  And the cover picture of this article tells the story on the front.  But the back is a bit more subtle as you'll notice below. Sporty rear lower valance Spot the honeycomb lower valance across the rear bumper?  Nice touch! Volkswagen also notes larger exhaust pipes on the '22 GLI but I don't think that's quite as noticeable.  Other exterior changes include new wheel design options and a Black appearance package. Additionally refreshed areas are inside the Jetta GLI.  Including a newly designed steering wheel wrapped in leather.  And red accent stitching. 2022 VW Jetta GLI Autobahn Trim Configuration And MSRP For the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta GLI it's super simple.  Because the German carmaker gives you only one option. So if you want to go with the enthusiasts Jetta for this model year, then you're getting the Autobahn trim. And the '22 Autobahn GLI trim is well equipped and the starting manufacturers suggested retail price is $31,295. Engine, Transmissions, And MPG Also, when it comes to your engine and transmission options your decision-making is simple. Because the 2022 VW Jetta GLI Autobahn comes with one engine.  However, here in the United States, we have the option of transmissions. First, the engine is a spirited 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder.  It's a 16-valve turbocharged inter-cooled, TSI. And available here in the US for 2022 the GLI Autobahn is available in both automatic and manual transmission!  (Exciting because in VW's European home only manual is available.) Engine However, GLI is a blast to drive especially at its price point. This is due in large part to the well-balanced 228 horsepower engine that puts out 258 pound-feet of torque. Transmission Aside from manual and automatic, there is a slight difference in the transmissions. The automatic, which I test drove and you see pictured throughout this article is a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic.  Notable here is that paddle shifters come with the single-trimmed GLI for 2022.  And this automatic trans/paddle-shifter combo provides ample driving enjoyment. However, if you want to take your driving enthusiasm to the next level, you can opt for manual transmission.  And it's a six-speed.  (My guess is that getting your hands on a manual transmission will probably require a special order.) GLI Fuel Economy Near identical MPG will be delivered for the 2022 VW Jetta GLI regardless of your transmission. If you opt for the manual trans then you'll get an estimated 26 MPG in the city and 37 on the highway. Ever-so-slightly adjusted MPG for the GLI automatic transmission is an estimated 26 in the city and 36 on the highway. The fuel economy for these transmissions is so close that they're estimated to both deliver 30 MPG for combined city/highway averages. 5-seat compact sport sedan What's The 2022 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Look Like? It's a compact sedan.  But the GLI is the enthusiasts/sporty version of the Jetta.  And with this year's refresh the sportiness is taken to the next level! Undeniably European and Volkswagen is how the 2022 Jetta GLI appears on the road. Key exterior dimensions are below. 2022 VW Jetta GLI Exterior Dimensions:

Teen Driving Safety: Chevy Tech Limits, Reports On Kids At The Wheel
Teen Driving Safety is a top concern of any parent.  And it has been pretty much since adolescents first asked for the keys. But the future where driverless cars immaculately pilot themselves down the road is still on the horizon.  And not yet a reality. ⇒ Check out SUVs with Chevy's Teen Driver Safety Tech Until that day comes we parents still have plenty of good reasons for concern.  Because 2,042 people were killed in accidents involving teen drivers - and that's a stat from 019 alone. So, how do we parents approach the subject of teen driver safety?  Luckily, a technology from carmakers like Chevrolet is available to help. First, let's take a look at what the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration - NHTSA - suggests for teen drivers. ⇒Continue reading below and click play to listen.⇐ Teen Driver Safety Report Card - Chevy.com Teen Driver Safety And The GDL System Every state in the union as well as DC has enacted something called the Graduated Driver Licensing laws - aka GDL. So, GDL laws include a set of guidelines set out by the NHTSA designed to improve safety.  Typically it includes three stages, the Learners Permit, the Provisional License, and Full Licensure. During each stage, teen drivers should demonstrate responsible habits before advancing to the next.  While supervised teen drivers rarely crash, those who are unsupervised are a part of the group that experiences the highest crash rates. To improve teen driving safety, it's important that parents do a few things: First, the NHTSA recommends knowing your state's GDL law. Then follow up with your teen(s) by sharing important driving tips. (It's also vital to set ground rules and consequences in writing.) Also, the NHTSA says to be a good role model. And I highlight being a good role model because we all have our bad habits behind the wheel.  Myself included for certain! For specifics on GDL Systems, refer to your state's Department Of Motor Vehicles website. But if you're in California like me, then see below. California's GDL System So, I find this strange but not surprising at the same time.  The state of California's Department of Motor Vehicles website offers only this 63-page document from 2003. I find it strange because it's not at all user-friendly and it's merely a link to a pdf file.  Conversely, do not find it surprising because... it's from the California government. Overall, it seems the state of California could do better to help parents keep their kids safe on the road.  Then again, the state of California could do better in countless areas... but that's another topic. :0) Chevrolet's Teen Driving Safety Technology Many manufacturers feature advanced safety technology of one sort or another but Chevrolet has a focus on teen safety. And I love that for a number of reasons.  Including teens being the least experienced drivers on the road.  Plus they're increasingly distracted. Moreover, you're reading this and I'm around to write it.  This means we've been teen drivers and lived through all the dumb stuff we did.  (I'm not alone here - right?) So Chevy's Teen Driving Safety Technology is cool because it leverages software built into the car.  With a heavy focus on keeping newer drivers safe while encouraging good habits. And by addressing some of the most common causes of car crashes involving young drivers, the technology keeps your teen safe. But it also maintains their passengers' safety.  Plus, let's face it, everyone else on the roads is kept safer too. What Chevy's Teen Driving Safety Technology Does Specifically, Chevrolet's Teen Driving Safety tech includes a suite of simple but effective tools.  And those tools are both active and passive. So they're active in that when engaged, they safely limit your teen driver's access to the car's functionality - in real-time. But Chevy's Teen Driving Safety tech is also passive.  For example,

2022 Volkswagen Atlas Review, Big Midsize 3-Row SUV
Even with a steady push toward EVs, the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas continues to impress with new upgrades. It doesn't seem that long ago that the European carmaker was rolling out its very first 7-passenger Atlas.  But the '22 Atlas marks the 5th model year for the first-generation midsize crossover SUV. ⇒iDriveSoCal's Exclusive Volkswagen Partner is Ontario Volkswagen! And to be clear, the Atlas is more crossover than SUV, albeit a highly capable one.  Moreover, it's a big midsize.  Big inside anyway.  So big that the 3rd-row backseat is adequate for normal-size adults. Conversely, most midsize SUVs that offer third-row seating are only equipped to squeeze kids and very small adults in the back row. But that's not the case with Atlas.  And that is why Interior Space heads my Top-3 favorites about the vehicle. 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Top-3: Interior space Technology Drive ⇒Continue reading below and click play to listen!⇐ 2022 VW Atlas SE trim New This Year For 2022 VW Atlas For 2022 Volkswagen Atlas gets a reconfigured model lineup.  So no hugely major changes but some cool adjustments. And when you look at the lineup and the direction Volkswagen is taking it, the edits makes sense. First, VW's all-wheel drive known as 4MOTION is now standard on all SEL models.  Along with that comes 20-inch machined wheels. Then optional with that is a black R-Line package.  Moreover, R-Line is now standard on SEL Premium and includes 21-inch wheels. Additionally, Volkswagen's Digital Cockpit is standard across all Atlas trims. Finally, and speaking of trims, VW scales the options down a bit - you now have six to pick from. Trims And MSRPS So what are the six trim options you ask?  They are as follows: 2022 VW Atlas Trims And MSRPs: SE $33,900 SE w/ Technology $38,070 SEL $43,670 SEL R-Line $46,820 SEL R-Line Black late availability SEL Premium R-Line $51,070 And note that the SEL R-Line Black is listed as late availability.  That's all Volkswagen is telling us at this point. And a persistent chip shortage plus supply chain issues have plagued the car business for more than a year now.  So we'll have to see what the definition of 'late availability' winds up being for the SEL R-Line Black. Engines, Transmission, and MPG No matter what trim you select for your 2022 VW Atlas, there are only two engines that you could wind up with. And both of these motors have been around the VW-sphere for a while.  Both are reliable and quite similar performing - in my opinion.  And I've driven both numerous times. Engines 2.0L Inline Turbocharged 4-cylinder - delivering 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. 3.6L V6 - delivering 276 hp and 266 pound-feet of torque. Transmission Either engine comes with the same 8-speed automatic transmission. And in both cases, the V6 or the turbocharged inline 4-cylinder, the transmission is geared effectively to maximize motor performance. At the same time, the transmission optimizes the fuel economy that Atlas delivers. So you're left with the option of 2WD or 4MOTION.  And with the Volkswagen Atlas, 2WD is powered by the front wheels. My suggestion is to go with 4MOTION.  Because fuel economy isn't that different.  And your resale value on the vehicle should be higher. While the initial cost of the vehicle will also be a little higher, the pre-owned crossover SUV market tends to favor all-wheel drive. Gas Mileage When it comes to the MPG that '22 Atlas provides, you're in good shape.  Because Atlas, while being a midsize vehicle, is a Volkswagen. And VW's are made sturdy - solid.  But in doing so they tend to weigh a bit more than comparable vehicles. 2022 VW Atlas MPG est.: 2.0-Turbo 4-cylinder FWD 21/23/25 AWD 20/22/24 3.6L V6 FWD 18/20/24 AWD 17/19/23 *All city/combined/highway So as you can see by the above EPA estimated fuel economy br...

2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Review, Prices, Trims, Features and Photos
Time really flies, because the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe marks the second model year of the icon's 5th generation. Whoah, 'icon' - really?  Yes.  Perhaps that's this reporter's opinion but my bet is that there are plenty who agree. ⇒iDSC's Chevy HQ is Martin Chevrolet! The seven (and up to eight) passenger Tahoe shares the platform with a couple of siblings.  But there's always been something special about the full-size SUV. Although the GMC Yukon is slightly more upscale.  And the Cadillac Escalade is even a bit more upscale.  The Chevy Tahoe just brings it all.  Performance, styling, and capability. Moreover, the big sport-ute costs less than its aforementioned brethren.  And I dig that! 2022 Chevy Tahoe Top-3: Drive Styling Interior ⇒Continue reading below and click play to listen.⇐ 7-8 Passenger full-size SUV 2022 Chevy Tahoe - New For 2022 So, just last year Tahoe was all-new.  But Chevy continues to inspire with available new stuff for 2022. For example, there are some cool new exterior colors - auburn metallic, evergreen gray metallic and darks ash metallic. Plus some cool tech options.  Like reverse auto-braking.  Also, front and rear park assist.  Additionally lane-keep assist with lane departure warnings.  Camera monitoring views get enhanced along with Google Assistant. Even better is the digital instrument cluster.  That comes standard on LT trims and above.  Finally, we can't leave out the 6.2-liter V8 that's now available for Premier and Z71 trims. Trims And Pricing As always Chevrolet provides multiple trims, and all of these assure you are able to make Tahoe explicitly yours. 2022 Tahoe trims and starting MSRPs:  LS $50,200 LT $55,600 RST $58,800 Z71 $60,800 Premier $63,600 High Country $70,500 Also, the test driver you see pictured throughout this post is a 4WD LT. Engines, Transmissions, And Gas Mileage Tahoe is a true sport utility vehicle.  Which, might be obvious to some.  But in the world of crossover SUVs, that's worth pointing out. But while it's closer to a truck than a car, Chevy doesn't go to the extent of engine and transmission options.  Like, for example, what the carmaker does with Silverado. Engines For 2022 Tahoe can come with three different motors: 5.3L V8, 355 horsepower, and 383 pound-feet of torque 6.2L V8, 420 hp, and 460 lb-ft of torque 3.0L Turbo-Diesel, 277 hp, and 460 lb-ft of torque Drivetrain Regardless of the powerplant, the 2022 Chevy Tahoe comes equipped with the same transmission.  And it's a smooth-shifting and efficient 10-speed automatic. So you're left with the choice of 2WD or 4WD.  And here's another point that might be obvious but worth noting.  The 2WD option is rear-wheel drive. MPG When it comes to fuel-economy Tahoe is in really good shape. Because a full-size Tahoe delivers about the same EPA estimated fuel economy as my midsize Toyota Tacoma.  (And that hurt, frankly, when a realized it!) 2022 Tahoe Fuel-Economy: 5.3L V8 2WD 15/20 4WD tbd/tbd 6.2L V8 2WD 14/20 4WD 14/19 3.0L turbo-diesel 2WD 21/28 4WD 20/26 *All city/highway Speaking of my Tacoma, that's a 2WD - making the fuel-economy comparison all the more painful! And it used to be that I'd suggest buying 4WD only if you think you'll be using it.  But with Tahoe's fuel efficiency, just get the 4WD. Because it doesn't cost that much more anyway.  Plus, it increases your resale value.  So, you might as well have it. 8 to 10-inches of ground clearance What Does 2022 Chevy Tahoe Look Like? I love the look of the new Tahoe - this fifth generation we're enjoying.  While that's not changed from last year to this year it's both a beautiful and bold design. For instance, even though the trim pictured throughout this post is an LT trim, it's still a handsome SUV.  Remember that the LT is only one step above the base-model LS.

2022 Volkswagen Passat Review, Prices, Trims, Specs And Pics
2022 Volkswagen Passat makes its final lap in the United States. Or, at least that's what VW is saying at the moment.  Because the Passat has been coming out of VW's Chattanooga, Tennesee assembly plant. And the People's Carmaker is turning its focus to electric vehicles - across the board, including at that plant. However, to get your hands on a final-year Passat could be a very good thing.  We'll unpack the reasons here. ⇒ Southern California Volkswagen Headquarters = Ontario VW -->Continue reading below and click play to listen.<-- '22 VW Passat SE 2022 Volkswagen Passat Midsize Sedan My Passat test driver, pictured throughout this review, was an SE trim.  And that's the base trim. But new for 2022 is the Limited Edition trim.  And it's handsome.  Classy, if you will.  Clearly European with more than a hint of Audi about it. Trims And Pricing So the '22 Passat comes in a total of three different trim options.  Here's each along with their respective starting manufacturers' suggested retail pricing. 2022 VW Passat Trims & Starting MSRPs: SE $27,295 R-Line $29,295 Limited Edition $30,295 Engines, Transmission And Fuel Economy As often is the case with Volkswagen vehicles, Passat comes with the same engine across all trims. And for 2022 it's a highly spirited 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder.  That engine generates 174 horsepower with 206 pound-feet of torque. In line with the single-engine configuration, Volkswagen features the same transmission in Passat.  For 2022 it's a well-matched 6-speed automatic transmission. What I find surprising about this powertrain is the fuel economy.  Because Passat delivers EPA-estimated 24 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. And my surprise with those figures holds especially true when considering the engine's performance.  It's fun to drive yet still delivers great economy from the pump! MPG 24/36 - city/highway What Does The 2022 VW Passat Look Like? Perhaps as a parting shot of thanks from Volkswagen.  Or maybe because it's getting tough to get.  I'm appreciating the Passat more than ever before! It's a great-looking sedan.  And that goes for any of the three trims.  So, the SE is the base model yet it doesn't look like a base model at all. For instance, compare a base VW Passat to a base Toyota Camary.  On looks alone, everyone would pick the Passat. But what's cool about this year's Passat line-up is that you have the great-looking base SE.  Then there's the more sporty R-Line. And it tops off with the luxury appointed Limited Edition. 2022 Volkswagen Passat Interior Sliding inside the Passat we find equally designated interiors. All of them are spacious, well laid out, and offer exemplary fit and finish details.  But the cool thing about the segmentation of the trims is this. The SE is a handsome base model.  Then the R-Line is the more sporty midrange.  With accent stitching and R-Line badging inside. And when you bump up to the Limited Edition you get near-luxury appointments.  Plus the European carmaker even delivers an outgoing nod to its Tennesse home with 'Chattanooga' labeled seat tags. Moreover, the Passat has awesome legroom.  So much so that four adults, considered to be tall, can easily road trip for a few hours at a time, in comfort. Legroom 42.4"/39.1" - front/back Technology And Safety For 2022 Passat includes standard remote start and blindspot monitoring plus, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Infotainment touchscreen with available navigation and lots of driver assistance features are available at your fingertips. And that includes the available Volkswagen Car-Net so that you can stay connected to your car.  Even when you're not in it. Outgoing 2022 VW Passat So, here's my overall take on the 2022 Volkswagen Passat.  It's simple - really.  Because Volkswagen has been making the Passat for a long time. And the car has always been solid.

The appearance of the '22 Silverado is similar to last year with some aesthetic enhancements.  Most notably a new front fascia. Overall, it's unmistakably of the Bow Tie brand.  And with all the configuration options it's whatever you want it to look like. So, you can make it look (and act) like a serious off-roader.  But you can also make it act (and look) like a serious street crawler. Or you can go WT-style (work truck) and focus on the daily grind ...

2022 Chevrolet Colorado Review: Prices, Trims, Specs And Photos
Although the midsize pickup truck segment is heating up the 2022 Chevy Colorado is unlikely to lose any market share. On the contrary, the moves Chevy is making should help increase sales.  And that's even though Chevy's umbrella GM slices some of its sales off to the GMC branded midsize each month. Even so, Colorado is one of my favorites in the segment.  And for many good reasons, as you'll read below. ⇒ Martin Chevrolet Is Southern California's Chevy Dealer ⇐ 2022 Chevy Colorado Top-3: Versatility/capability. Styling. Drive. ⇒Continue reading below and click play to listen.⇐ 212.7" wheelbase w/ Crew Cab and 5'2" box 2022 Chevrolet Colorado - What's New? New for 2022 Chevy is offering Colorado a dealer-installed Trail Boss package.  That's on the LT and Z71 models. And that package includes front and mid-vehicle skid plates.  Plus a 1-inch suspension leveling kit.  Special 17-inch ZR2 black wheels and Chevy bow-tie badges along with red tow hooks. Prices And Trim Configurations As with Colorado's full-sized sibling, Silverado, there is a dizzying array of trim configurations you can choose. Cab And Box First, you can select either an extended cab or a crew cab.  But as you do that you need to also pick your bed - aka box. So the crew cab is offered in either a long or short box.  Whereas the extended-cab comes only with a long box. In either case, the short box is 61.70" (5'2") while the long box is 74.00" (6'2"). Trims Next, you have your trim options.  And they include the WT (work truck), the LT, Z71, or the ZR2. Overall, there are exceptions to every option.  But I'm going to layout some generalities here in an effort to normalize while giving you a broad view of your options: WT - see dealer for pricing: The work truck is what you'd expect, a truck focused on getting jobs done.  With creature comforts, advanced tech, etc. taking a backseat. LT - see dealer for pricing: Colorado LT can be a chameleon.  Because you can choose to option the LT into an on-road beauty or an off-road beast - depending on the direction you want to go. Z71 - starting MSRP $35,995: Chevy's Z71 trim is off-road focused.  It's more off-road aggressive and sporty-looking than the LT or WT as well. ZR2 - Starting MSRP $45,395: This truck takes Colorado off-roading to another level of seriousness.  Both in looks and performance.  Get this truck and plan to spend a great deal of time in the dirt, off-pavement.  Also, with no worries about stop signs, traffic lights... or traffic overall. Special Editions As Chevy is known for, Colorado offers a slew of special editions this year.  And they include: Custom - As the name suggests, make it yours, however, you like.  Think executive who hauls stuff. Redline - Black and red accents adorn this package.  And my test driver pictured throughout this post had it. Trail Boss - This is a new one for 2022's Colorado - takes the LT and Z71 off-road packages to a slightly higher level. Z71 Midnight  - This one is more of an on-road package. ZR2 Midnight And Dusk  - Blacked out off-road packages 3.6L V6, 308 hp & 275 lb-ft of torque Engines, Transmissions, And MPG So, just like your trim options, there are plenty of engine and transmission combinations to choose from. Engines It starts with three different engines.  There's a 4-cylinder, a V6, and turbo-diesel.  Each delivers different performance metrics: 2.5 liter, 4-cylinder putting out 200 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. 3.6L, V6, delivering 308 hp with 275 lb-ft of torque. 2.8L turbo-diesel, powering 181 hp with 369 lb-ft of torque. Transmissions And the above motors are paired with one of two different transmissions. First, there's a 6-speed automatic.  And that comes with the 2.5L 4-cylinder and the 2.8L turbo-diesel. Then there's an 8-speed automatic and that comes with the V6 exclusively. Fuel Economy Overall,

2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Review: Prices, Trims, Features And Photos
The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan has a bolder exterior and enhanced standard technology inside.  So the compact SUV that offers an available third-row of seating is refreshed for this model year. Both looking at and driving the new Tiguan is impressive.  Because the new model is a major contrast to the very first Tiguan introduced in the United States. Additionally, Tiguan has become Volkswagen's best-selling vehicle.  Both here in the United States and globally!  And that makes all kinds of sense as you'll see as we unpack this review. ⇒ Ontario Volkswagen is Southern California's VW HQ ⇐ 2022 VW Tiguan Top-3:  Styling  Interior  Drive ⇒ Continue reading below or click PLAY To LISTEN. ⇐ '22 VW Tiguan SEL w/ R-Line 2022 VW Tiguan - What's New The most noticeable 2022 Tiguan update is the bolder new front end.  And it now comes standard with LED headlights. Moreover, that refreshed front end looks great with the LEDs.  And when you go inside the update that is immediately appreciated is the Digitial Cockpit - now standard across all trims. 109.9" wheelbase and 186.1" overall length Trims And Prices Volkswagen provides four primary trim configurations to choose from for Tiguan 2022. 2022 VW Tiguan Trims & MSRPs: S $25,995 SE $29,495 SE R-Line Black $32,295 SEL R-Line $36,595 *Starting manufacturers suggested retail prices The 2022 VW Tiguan I drove is pictured in this review.  And it's the SEL R-Line trim with 4Motion - what Volkswagen calls its all-wheel drive. And our thanks as always to our friends at Ontario Volkswagen in the Los Angeles suburb of Ontario California for providing the Tiguan for this review. Engine, Transmission, And MPG As The Peoples carmaker often does, it keeps it simple offering one engine and one transmission in the 2022 Tiguan. So, after you decide your trim configuration and options, all you need to select is 2WD or AWD/4MOTION. VW Digital Cockpit Standard Engine Under the hood, Tiguan includes an impressively quick 184 horsepower 2.0L inline turbocharged 4-cylinder.  And it puts out 221 pound-feet of torque. Transmission Then that engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.  And when you go with the two-wheel-drive option it's front-wheel drive.  Or, you can opt for Volkswagen's 4MOTION.  And that's what my test driver had - it's quick and nimble.  Great fun to drive. Fuel Economy As you can expect, when you have a single-engine and transmission, the fuel economy range is pretty close. But when you go with 2WD you get 26 MPG combined.  And that breaks down to 23 in the city and 30 on the highway. Conversely, with all-wheel-drive, you get a combined 25 MPG.  Broken down that's 22-city and 29-highway. Finally, if you go with the R-Line AWD those numbers change slightly.  Combined is 24 MPG with 21-city and 28-highway. Curb Weight: 3,765/3,856 lbs What's The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Look Like? So when it comes to the looks of the refreshed 2022 VW Tiguan - that's where I really take a step back. Because when Tiguan first hit the US market in 2008... I found it to be lacking in the department of aesthetical appeal.  But fast-forward to now, and there's a night-and-day difference.  It's great-looking, especially with its adjusted front-end. Plus, and it's difficult to display in an online image, but there's an available LED lightbar.  It spans the entire grill - headlight to headlight and looks very cool. No doubt the 2022 Tiguan is a Volkswagen, but it's sharp.  European sharp and athletic. 1,500 lbs towing capacity Inside '22 Tiguan Volkswagen's Digital Cockpit highlights the interior updates of the new Tiguan.  But to be clear the rest of the interior is to be appreciated as well. Because, if you're a regular iDriveSoCal reader, listener, or watcher, then you know I'm a big fan of interior engineering.  And VW's is almost always both tight and right.

2023 Corvette Z06 Reveal – Chevrolet’s 670 HP Beast
The Corvette has always been America's sports car but thanks to the latest developments at Chevrolet, it might officially be America's supercar. That's because Chevy just provided the 2023 Corvette Z06 reveal, a 670 horsepower salute to speed!  According to Chevrolet, they're putting the world on notice and we'd have to agree. ✅  Southern California’s Chevy HQ –> Martin Chevrolet -->Continue reading and click play below to listen.<-- Guesstimated starting MSRP around $90-$95K The 2023 Corvette Z06 Reveals A New Engine Past iterations of the Z06 tended towards using the same powerplant as the normal Corvette, albeit with some tweaks... or maybe a supercharger added.  That's not the case for the C8. The engine found in the Z06 is completely different from the one found in the Stingray.  To start with, it's actually much smaller.  Instead of the 6.2-liters displaced by the Stingray engine, it only displaces 5.5-liters. Of course, it also makes 670 horsepower, a figure that dwarfs the Stingrays 495 hp.  Interestingly enough, both engines make around 495 lb-ft of torque. But, how did Chevy manage that much more power?  And why isn't there more torque on tap?  Well, the goal was to make the Z06 perfect on the track. To that end, Chevrolet built the 5.5-liter engine with a flat-plane crank.  That allows for faster engine speeds and more power.  At the same time, it doesn't really add torque, just horsepower. Optional carbon fiber spoiler Corvette Z06  - A Track Monster The new Z06 might look completely wild but we assure you, it's not just for show.  Chevrolet reps say that "almost every exterior detail unique to the Z06 serves a purpose for aerodynamics, handling or cooling, with styling cues that accentuate the car’s sense of motion." That includes making the stance 3.6-inches wider to accommodate 345-section width tires.  Plus a totally unique front and rear fascias.  Additionally, track-centric suspension tuning, and a bevy of parts that are dedicated to helping you go faster! For the first time, the Z06 is offered with available carbon fiber wheels.  Buyers can also get it with a special Z07 package that adds up to 734 pounds of downforce at 186 miles per hour. And it does that through the use of a massive carbon fiber spoiler, ground effects, and canards at the front of the car.  Shockingly, none of these additions make it less practical for street use. So, that giant spoiler is built to provide just enough space for the rear decklid to be opened, revealing the same trunk space available in the regular Stingray Corvette.  And the interior is ultra customizable too with seven different colors available, three different seating options, and even three different seat belt colors. It's quite clear that the 2023 Corvette Z06 is better. In every way. Carbon fiber wheels optional 2023 Chevy Corvette z06 Performance And Pricing While Chevrolet hasn't released pricing figures as of yet.  That hasn't stopped the journalist-guessers from pontificating about what they might be. And from what I'm seeing the starting manufacturers suggested retail pricing is being targeted (again guesstimated) around $90,000 to $95,000. So, if that's about accurate then that means the Z06 will be around $30,000 more than the base-model Stingray.  Because Stingray's starting MSRP is around $61,000. Corvette Z06 0 to 60 MPH Regarding performance, Chevy had the below placard displayed at the LA Auto Show.  And it states a blistering zero to sixty time as well as quarter-mile. 0 to 60 MPH and Quarter Mile Stats So, Chevy is stating that the 2023 Corvette Z06 will clock 0 to 60 MPH in just 2.6-seconds!  And it will clip the quarter-mile sprint in 10.6-seconds. However, the Stingray appropriately equipped will do zero to 60 in 2.9 seconds.  So... $30k extra for a few-tenths of a second?  Perhaps that's the glass-half-full view of the situation.

2022 Chevy Trailblazer Review, Cost, Trims, Features, Specs And Photos
The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer enters its second model year.  Because the nameplate was just reintroduced.  Having been absent from the carmaker's line-up for a bit more than a decade. ✅  Southern California’s Chevy HQ –> Martin Chevrolet And to be clear Trailblazer is now a subcompact crossover SUV.  Previously it was midsize.  But again that goes way back to 2009. So it's now much smaller.  But also much sportier.  In fact, its styling cues are easily connected to Camaro. 2022 Chevy Trailblazer Top-3: Styling Interior Fuel-economy -->Continue reading below AND listen!<-- Sportiest subcompact? New For 2022 Chevy Trailblazer Even though Trailblazer is in only its second model year there are some new aspects for 2022. And those include; available roof rack cross rails and a trailering package.  Plus a heated steering wheel on upper trims. Additionally some cool new exterior color options.  Including crimson metallic, the color of the vehicle I drove pictured throughout this review. Other new colors include blue glow metallic, vivid orange, and mahogany red metallic. Trims And MSRPs So you have four trim options to go with for 2022.  And thanks to the design and shape of the vehicle all the trim configurations are handsome. But of course, the higher trims include quite a bit more features and creature comforts. Trims & Starting Prices: LS $21,600 LT $23,800 ACTIV $25,700 RS $25,700 Also, my test driver pictured throughout this post was the top-of-the-line RS trim. And thanks to my friends at Martin Chevrolet for hooking that up. Engine, Transmission, And MPG Now the engine is where Trailblazer raises some eyebrows.  And that's because it features two different 3-cylinder engines. You read that correctly 1-2-3 cylinders.  Both of them are turbocharged.  And both are spirited, if not quick while delivering great fuel economy. 1.2L Turbo I-3 The smaller of the two powerplants is the 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder.  It puts out 137 horsepower with 162 pound-feet of torque. 1.3L Turbo I-3 Then there's the 1.3-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder.  And it delivers 155 horsepower with 174 pound-feet of torque. Transmission So, there's a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that can be paired with either motor. And while some CVTs are criticized I have to admit that my test driver had one.  To be clear it was matched with the bigger engine.  But it left me with two takeaways. First, I wouldn't have guessed it was a CVT while I was driving it. And second, it was truly fun to drive. Additionally, there's a 9-speed automatic transmission.  And it comes only with the bigger engine and when opting for the available all-wheel drive. Fuel Economy No matter what engine and transmission you go with.  The Trailblazer has you in great shape with MPG. 2022 Chevy Trailblazer MPG: 1.2L FWD 29/31 1.3L FWD 29/33 AWD 26/30 *City/highway Also, with the newly available trailering package, Trailblazer can tow up to 1,000-pounds. What Does The '22 Chevrolet Trailblazer Look Like? When it comes to looks, Chevy did Trailblazer right.  And regardless of the trim configuration, you're getting a sleek, sophisticated and, sporty vehicle. 155 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque With its athletic lines and good looks, Trailblazer can easily pass for a vehicle in a larger class.  Because it doesn't appear to be a subcompact SUV. Exterior Dimensions: Wheelbase 103.9 Length 173.5 Width 71.2 Height 64.8 to 65.7 Track front 61.2 rear 61.3 *All inches However, regardless of whether or not Trailblazer looks like a subcompact.  It drives and handles well.  In fact, it's nimble around long bends and a breeze to maneuver. Inside The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer So I'm clearly a fan of the exterior Trailblazer design.  However, that goes for the interior too.

2021 Chevrolet Blazer Review, Prices, Features, Specs And Photos
The 2021 Chevrolet Blazer is a sporty, spacious, and fun-to-drive two-row midsize SUV. For instance, Chevrolet's Safety Assist package is now standard on upper trims.  Plus there are added exterior color options.  And front-wheel-drive models, equipped with the V6 engine now have the trailering package available. Trims And Prices For 2021 Chevy offers Blazer in six different trims.  And those are as follows: '21 Chevy Blazer Trims & Starting MSRPs: L $28,000 1LT $32,300 2LT $33,100 3LT $37,300 RS $40,800 Premier $42,500 Of course, these are all starting MSRPs.  And I share these for reference.  Because you need to get your Blazer equipped to your liking. Also, I endorse Martin Chevrolet in the Los Angeles suburb of Torrance California.  Run by my dear friend Lewis Cook, that's the Southern California Chevy Dealer I know and trust. Additionally, as Chevy so often includes, you can select a few different 'Editions' of Blazer.  It depends on the trim you select, but there are some cool options - the Midnight, Sport or Redline Editions. Engines, Transmissions, And Fuel Economy Three engine options are under the hood of the 2021 Blazer.  And there's one transmission across all trims. But with the different engines as well as all-wheel or front-wheel drive, the fuel economy varies a bit.  Although surprisingly not much. Engines The first is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder.  It puts out 193-horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. Then there's a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder, with dual overhead cams.  And it delivers 227 HP with 258 lb-ft of torque. Finally, Chevy Blazer offers a 3.6L V6, also with dual overhead cams.  This one delivers 308 HP with 270 lb-ft of torque. Transmissions Regardless of the engine, '21 Blazer comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission.  And when you look at the stats overall, that transmission is impressively versatile. Because with the V6 the midsize sport-ute has a towing capacity of up to 4,500 lbs. 20" Dark Android Machine-Faced Aluminum Wheels MPG Considering the three different engine options, the 2021 Blazer's fuel economy is similar. 2021 Chevy Blazer MPG: 2.5L 21/27 2.0L turbo: FWD 22/29 AWD 22/27 3.6L V6 FWD 20/27 AWD 19/26 *All city/highway Finally, with all the various trims, engines and front or all-wheel-drive configurations, curbweight varies.  On the low-end that's 3,782 lbs and up to 4,287 lbs. What's the 2021 Chevy Blazer Look Like? Taking it's styling cues from the Chevrolet Camaro, the 2021 Chevy Blazer is a great looking SUV.  Including all trims, but especially the upper-tier trims, Blazer offers the looks of a vehicle that should cost 25 or 30% more than it does. 2021 Chevrolet Blazer RS AWD The downward slopping roofline in the rear, large wheels and sleek likes create a very sporty stance and appearance. The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is the fourth model year of the second generation. So the second generation hit the US market in 2017.  And it was great then.  But with each year it keeps getting better. So this leaves you with the option of front-wheel drive or Volkswagens 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.  And either way, you have a 1,500 lb towing capacity with Tiguan. Fuel Economy Accordingly, the fuel economy varies only slightly. 2021 VW Tiguan MPG: Front-wheel: 23/25/29 4Motion: 21/24/27 *City/Combined/Highway Finally, the Tiguan's curb weight differs only slightly as well. It definitely looks European and unmistakably a Volkswagen.  And it depends on the trim you go with. For instance, the SE R-Line that is pictured throughout this article.  It looks athletic and bold. Rear badging Trim Configurations And Prices The all-new Chevrolet Bolt EUV is being offered in two trims for 2022.  And I was surprised to realize the trim that I test drove wasn't the top of the line. 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Trims And MSRPs: LT $33,995 Premier $38,495 So my test driver, pictured throughout this article, was the LT trim.  All things considered, during my test drive, I thought for certain that I was cruising in the top trim level.  Because even the LT had that many creature comforts. Electric Drive, Charing And, Range Regardless of trim, the 2022 Bolt EUV is being offered in two-wheel drive.  Specifically, that's front-wheel drive. Additionally, the same single motor and gear set with a permanent magnetic drive motor come in both trims.  And that setup delivers 200 horsepower with 266 pound-feet of torque. Charging Times Of course, charging times vary.  Because it all depends on what type of charger you're using. 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Charing Times: 120 Volt - 4-miles of range per charging hour 240 V 32 amps - 25-miles per charging hour 240 V 48 amps - 37-miles per charging hour DC Fast Charge - Up to 95-miles in 30-minutes To be clear, the 120 V charger is your typical at-home wall socket.  Then the two different 240 V options are chargers EV owners typically have install at their homes.  Which leaves DC fast charging.  And that's charging available at public facilities.  Like highway fueling/charging stations. Range And MPGe MPGe is an acronym that stands for miles per gallon equivalent.  Because 'gallons' of electricity does not exist.  At least not yet anyway. :0) So the MPGe for the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV varies as well.  And that's because it really depends on how much strain you put on the vehicle's overall systems.  Like the air conditioning system.  Or the ventilated seats.  I used both extensively during my test drive.  (And it didn't seem to impact the vehicle's performance a bit.) But what all this really breaks down to is the vehicle's range.  Or how far will it go on a full charge?  And the EPA-estimated range for the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is 247 miles on a full charge. Finally, for the record - and the curious, the MPGe is 125 in the city and 104 on the highway.  For a combined total of 115 MPGe. What Does The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Look Like? Since the smaller Chevy Bolt is just a couple of years old, the larger Chevy Bolt EUV looks pretty much identical - only bigger.  And in my opinion, it looks better than its smaller sibling. 0 to 60 in 7.0 seconds Maybe it's because of the slightly different dimensions or proportions.  Perhaps it's simply due to the bigger-ness.  But I find it more aesthetically appealing.

2022 Volkswagen Taos Basecamp Review: Small SUV, Big Style And MPG
Volkswagen played the rollout of the 2022 VW Taos Basecamp well.  Because, while we knew the all-new subcompact SUV was coming.  We didn't know the special Basecamp package was anything more than a concept. So when the Basecamp concept became a real thing - it heightened the excitement.  And after driving it I can report that the small new sport-ute lives up to the excitement. ✅  Southern California’s Volkswagen HQ –> Ontario Volkswagen 2022 Volkswagen Taos Basecamp Top-3: Style Drive Fuel Economy -->Continue reading below and click play to listen to the podcast.<-- 2022 VW Taos SE with Basecamp 2022 Volkswagen Taos Basecamp To be clear, Basecamp is a package that buyers can add to any Tao's trim configuration.  It's an appearance package that adds to the aggressive rugged look of the vehicle.  And the package is installed at the dealer level.  But it's a Volkswagen-approved package. Basecamp Taos Package Trim Levels And Prices So Basecamp package can be added to any of the three trim configurations for the all-new 2022 Volkswagen Taos.  And those trims with manufacturers suggested retail prices are below. 2022 Volkswagen Taos trims: S $22,995 SE $27,245 SEL $31,490 *Starting MSRPs - not including Basecamp package. But the above prices are MSRPs only.  You need to get your Taos configured to your liking.  And the prices above do not reflect the Basecamp package being included. Furthermore, the Basecamp package adds $995 to your 2022 Volkswagen Taos purchase prices.  And that's regardless of the trim level. Engine, Transmission, And Fuel Economy For the 2022 Volkswagen Taos, the same engine is planted in each trim level.  And that's a highly-spirited 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder.  Additionally, it's turbocharged and puts out 158 horsepower with 184 pound-feet of torque. Turbocharged Inline 4-cylinder And that engine is paired with one of two transmissions, depending on whether it's an all-wheel-drive or front-wheel-drive configuration. So there's an 8-speed automatic transmission that connects to the front-wheel-drive Taos.  And a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and VW's 4MOTION all-wheel drive. MPG Beyond being fun to drive the 2022 VW Taos delivers in the MPG department. 2022 VW Taos Fuel Economy FWD 28/31/36 AWD 25/28/32 *City/combined/highway What Does '22 VW Taos Basecamp Look Like? The 2022 VW Taos Basecamp looks more aggressive and rugged than its non-Basecamp siblings.  However, with that said Taos without the Basecamp package is a great-looking SUV. '22 Taos SE w/ Basecamp package And it's definitely a Volkswagen SUV.  So, from Atlas to Atlas Cross Sport and Tiguan to Taos - Volkswagen has homogenized the lineup.  And you could think of the SUV models as large, medium, small and extra-small.  But that works creat because every one of the vehicles is aesthetically appealing. 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Review, Prices, Trims And Photos
The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a midsize SUV.  But it joins its slightly larger sibling, the VW Atlas in the midsize SUV category. Here's the deal.  Atlas Cross Sport is a 2-row whereas the larger VW Atlas is a 3-row.  The differences pretty much start and stop there. So if you have kids at home go with the Atlas.  And if you don't you'll probably opt for the Atlas Cross Sport.  Because it's a bit sleeker, sportier, and even more European-looking. However, you cannot go wrong either way.  Because both the Atlas and the Atlas Cross Sport are great overall values. ✅  Test drive Atlas Cross Sport midsize SUV at Southern California’s Volkswagen HQ –> Ontario Volkswagen. 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport Top-3: Overall value. Exterior styling. Interior engineering. See the difference in the below picture? Atlas Cross Sport is on the left.  Its roofline slopes down.  And it's shorter from the rear wheel to the rear bumper. Conversely, Atlas is on the right.  Its roofline doesn't slope much.  And it's longer from the rear wheel to the rear bumper. -->Continue reading below and click play to listen to the podcast.<-- Left: Atlas Cross Sport | Right: Atlas 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Midsize SUV So here's what's new for the 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport.  The 2-row midsize SUV now comes in eight trim levels.  Plus there's new technology.  And that includes driver assistance features. For example, new tech includes VW's next-gen MIB3 infotainment system.  Additionally, it also can come with wireless App-Connect pairing for multiple compatible phones. Plus Travel Assist and Emergency Assist features are available for 2021. Atlas Cross Sport starts at $30,855 MSRP Trim Configurations And Prices Since 2021 is the second model year for Atlas Cross Sport it's typical for carmakers to add more trim options.  Hence the more robust offering of trims this year. '21 Atlas Cross Sport Trims & Starting MSRPs: S $30,855 SE $34,205 with Tech $36,245 w/ Tech & R-Line $39,045 SEL $41,725 R-Line $43,325 Premium $46,525 Premium R-Line $50,025 Manufacturers suggested retail pricing is provided for reference.  You need to get your Cross Sport equipped to your liking.  And the place to do that is Ontario Volkswagen in the Los Angeles suburb of Ontario, CA. Engines, Transmissions, And MPG Depending on the trim config you select, there are two engine options. Engines First, there's a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4cylinder.  It puts out 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Second, there's the bigger 3.6L V6.  And that creates 276 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. However, having driven both - without data to back up the statement.  I'm pretty sure the turbo 4-cylinder accelerates quicker than the V6.  Maybe not 0 to 60 mph.  But off the line.  (Aka from a dead stop.) It feels quicker. Transmission Regardless of the engine, Atlas Cross Sport comes with the same transmission.  And that's an eight-speed automatic that helps produce solid fuel economy for a vehicle that size. Although the eight-speed trans is standard there can be a decision to make.  You may have to select whether to go with a two-wheel drive (in front - FWD) or an all-wheel drive. MPG The EPA-estimated fuel economy differs slightly with the different engine and drives combinations. '21 Atlas Cross Sport MPG: 2.0L 4-cyl FWD 21/22/24 AWD 20/22/24 3.6L V6 FWD 18/20/23 AWD 17/19/23 *City/combined/highway It's important to note that the midsize Atlas Cross Sport is a hefty vehicle.  Again, configuration depending, it can have a curb weight from 4,098 pounds up to 4,484 lbs. What Does VW Atlas Cross Sport Look Like? So the Atlas Cross Sport is tough to differentiate from its larger sibling Atlas.  And that's clear from the comparison picture of their rear ends above. But either way, it's a handsome,

Engine, Transmissions, And MPG Here too, Chevy keeps its sub-com sport-ute simple.  Because regardless of the trim configuration, Trax comes with the same peppy 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. And that engine puts out 138 horsepower with 148-pound feet of torque.  Furthermore, it's matched with an efficient 6-speed automatic transmission. 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab RST: Drop The Tailgate
The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab is definitely a vehicle that would be in my garage if I only had space.  Because the full-size Silverado is Chevy's top-selling vehicle and it gets a lot of attention.  Each year, there's always something new and improved about the truck.  And it's packed with technology and innovation. Plus it's 100% a chameleon.  By that I mean, you can get a totally basic Silverado.  And that would be that will be a tough work truck.  But you can also get one souped-up for on or off-roading in ridiculous style and capability. ✅ And my friends at Martin Chevrolet gave me the 2021 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab RST 4WD pictured in this review.  And mine had the Z71 package off-road package. 2021 Chevy Silverado Top-3: Technology. Interior. Styling. Cherry Red Tintcoat 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Review New for 2021 Chevy Silverado brings a couple of key features that will light up everyone universally.  Plus it offers a number of new options that are a bit more niche-specific.  But they're sure to be enjoyed nonetheless. So, universal features will have everyone mouthing the word 'sweet' include:  The multi-flex tailgate that's being brought over from GMC.  And wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Plus there's a slew of additional new options.  Including increased trailering capabilities and enhanced tech to monitor your trailering. Also, new available packages: All-Star Edition Plus, Texas Edition Plus, and LTZ Premium Texas Edition.  And there are new colors including Oxford Brown Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat - pictured in this article. Prices And Trims It's notable that there are more ways to equip a Silverado than I think anyone has bothered to compute.  From trims to special packages and engines to drivetrains, plus cabs and beds.  You can, and should, get your Silverado exactly as you like. '21 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trims: Work Truck (WT) Custom Custom Trail Boss LT RST LT Trail Boss LTZ High Country And starting MSRPs for the various trims range widely.  For example on Chevy's website, I configured a minimally equipped WT for a starting price of about $26,595.  Conversely, I also configured a High Country with all the whistles and bells for about $67,455.  Moreover, that's before customizing any equipment or considering special packages. Engines, Transmissions, Towing, And MPG So, with all the trim options in mind, the engine options might surprise you.  Because there are nine of those when you consider their various transmission pairings. Engine/Trans Options 4.3-liter V6 with 6-speed automatic and Active Fuel Management 5.3L V8 with 6-speed automatic With Active Fuel Management Without Active Fuel Management 5.3L V8 with 8-speed automatic With Dynamic Fuel Management Without Dynamic Fuel Management 5.3 L V8 with 10-speed automatic with Dynamic Fuel Management 6.2L V8 with 10-speed automatic with Dynamic Fuel Management 2.7L Turbo 4-cylinder with 8-speed automatic and Active Fuel Management 3.0L I-6 Turbo-Diesel with 10-speed automatic In addition to all that, as you can imagine, the fuel economy is all over the board.  But good, overall.  There is some criticism about the 4-cylinder.  Not that it's not powerful but that it isn't very fuel-efficient. Fuel Economy Overall, the worst EPA estimated fuel economy would be 13 MPG in the city.  And that's with the Trail Boss 4WD, 5.3L V8 paired with the 6-speed automatic without active fuel management.  On the flip side, the best MPG comes from the 3.0L Turbo Diesel.  Because it's rated, with 2WD, at up to 33 MPG on the highway. Mostly the MPG is in the mid-to-high-teens in the city and the low-to-mid-twenties on the highway. Maximum Towing Capacity And towing, Silverado 1500 can get downright beastly.  Considering the 6.2L V8, with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque can drag up to ...
