This week on the Idaho Farm and Ranch Show… It’s Thanksgiving week, and just ahead we’ll tell you if it’s ok to cook that years-old frozen turkey you just found in your deep freeze. We also head to Parma, with Idaho Preferred and meet a young family farming mushrooms of all things. We introduce a new feature on the program, hearing from Idaho’s elected leaders, and of course Paul Marchant will tell us about a grand opportunity in the latest Irons in the Fire. Also… Cost of Thanksgiving meal, lame duck session, milk prices, cattle market, WIC changes, agritourism benefits,…

This week on the IFRS… Idaho ranks first in five different ag commodity groups… and we’ll tell you what those are just ahead. We also take you to the Treasure Valley for the latest Farm to Chef installment; a restaurant called the Lively has a menu filled with Idaho products. Paul Marchant’s Irons in the Fire takes us to the unloading spot, later in the program.

This week on the IFRS, there are renewed efforts to keep financially distressed farmers on their land. And we take you to Pearl’s on the Lake restaurant in Northern Idaho, where they’re using Idaho ag products on the menu… another Farm to Chef story. The Idaho Farm Bureau introduces a couple taking petting zoos to fairs across the country. This week on the IFRS, we go to Twin Falls with the Idaho Preferred program, where the Yellow Brick Cafe is using Idaho grown products on their menu… And it’s not just for Canadians… we’ll take a look at a University of Idaho Program that is venturing into the maple syrup business, we also of course will feature another installment of Paul Marchant’s Irons in the Fire.

This week on the IFRS… we’ll discuss financing challenges for young, beginning, and underserved producers, plus how modernized rules for the Endangered Species Act are being reinstated after a court ruling. And a look at the psychology between the vibrant fall colors. We also have a brand new installment of irons in the Fire with Paul marchant later this hour.

This week on the IFRS, Idaho is first in the West when it comes to per capita farm income, plus a through look at the nation’s drought and water situation, we also get a forward glimpse of 2022’s farm economy report, and we’ll tell you how a beginning farmer can be a good neighbor. And, of course, Paul Marchant brings us another installment of Irons in the Fire, on the IFRS.

This week on the IFRS, Senator Mike Crapo is working to create a steady supply of legal foreign labor, and we’ll hear more about his efforts, plus a large potato operation in east Idaho that’s more about helping the needy than it is about making a profit. We’ll lhear from the USDA about an heir’s relending program that aims to address some challenges, and of course Paul Marchant brings us another installment of Irons in the Fire.

This week on the IFRS, we make a stop at the Idaho Potato Museum in Blackfoot, and we’ll take a deeper look at the heroic efforts of beekeepers and researchers trying to save the world’s bee colonies. And we’ll have a report on what farmers are doing in Idaho to increase farm safety. Of course, Paul Marchant will check in later with Irons in the Fire.
