86 Gargoyles – S1 Eps 11-13 with Shift
We finally did it! We finished our last chapter of our Gargoyles adventure. Boy am I gonna miss that loin cloth. More importantly though, this week we are joined by a very special guest and friend, Shift, who shares some of his brilliance with us. This was recorded a couple weeks ago, just after the murder of George Floyd, and Shift is a Black man who shared his perspective not only on See You in the Funny Papers and what’s under Goliath’s loin cloth, but racial violence, protesting, and anti-racism work. Listen to him. *Disclaimer: None of us are medical experts so do not take our thoughts on vinegar as fact. Support Shift! Follow @madblaqueer and @the_luciferous_shift on Instagram, and he is on Patreon. The post 86 Gargoyles – S1 Eps 11-13 with Shift appeared first on I Never Saw That.

85 Gargoyles – S1 Eps 9-10
‘Goyles! We’re talking about ‘Goyles again as all the superfans call Gargoyles. Just two episode recaps this week because it’s a Sunday on See You in the Funny Papers and Micah got excited. Also Jen brings it hard with a new educational segment about US History (see U.S. Constitution Article XIII(c)i). She also brings it hard with talk of gargoyle sex parts, so this one isn’t for the kiddies. Note: Sorry about the background noise on this one. We had to deal with a rogue fan during our recording session. I wish I meant a crazed listener, but I don’t. It got very hot and toasty this week here at INST HQ and there was an air circulating type of fan that kept turning off and on and we couldn’t control it. 84 Gargoyles – S1 Eps 6-8
We’re back with more Gargoyles this week, in an episode that really shows our range. We cover everything from Gargoyle boners to the relationship between oppression and power, jen talks about water intake in Montana, and we are perpetual ding dongs throughout. 83 Gargoyles – The Remaining Awakenings
We continue awakening with the Gargoyles this week as we cover the episodes entitled Awakening, Part 3, Awakening, Part 4, and, you guessed it, Awakening, Part 5! Micah describes a new and exciting comic as part of See You in the Funny Papers and we give explicit details on how to reach us by spelling out Micah’s contact info. I’d write it out here too, but that seems like overkill. Jen also talks about the food situation in Montana. Finally, we had to bleep out a few words that discuss a product that may be coming to market soon. We hope it’s not too confusing. Please don’t ask us what the name is. We shan’t tell. 82 Gargoyles S1 Eps 1-2
Gargoyles! We watched some of it, but we didn’t really talk about it much. So if you got excited, we’re sorry. Gargoyles was a cartoon show on in 1994, but you wouldn’t know that from listening to this episode that is purportedly about said cartoon show. Micah does his really dumb and long segment and Jen presents another letter from her school and then we run out of time to talk about the actual topic for the week. BUT! We plan to watch a lot of Gargoyles in the coming weeks and we promise we’ll talk about those sweet stone/statue/beasts a lot very soon. Heeeeeeyyyyy. So, yeah, we decided to watch 1995’s Outbreak. Just now. Yes, that Outbreak. Because what better time to watch a movie about a terrifying pandemic than during an actual pandemic? We don’t dwell on gross details, but we get it if you’re not up for this topic right now. Don’t worry though, we still do a See You in the Funny Papers, and we’re still complete dipshits throughout! 80 We Are Back
We’re back again! This time for keeps. For real? For a longer time–whatever, our hiatus is over. We’re back to making regular episodes. This is not a regular episode though. Making episodes regularly is what I meant. Anyway, Jen reads a letter sent from Mission Mountain many years ago and Micah catches Jen up on the Great Blondie/Hi & Lois Controversy of 1994 during everyone’s favorite segment! Also, Jen solves time travel paradoxes. The post 80 We Are Back appeared first on I Never Saw That.

79 Groundhog Day
It’s Groundhog Day! So obviously we watched Harold Ramis’ 1993 masterpiece “Groundhog Day” starring Bill Murray, Andie McDowell, and Chris Elliott FOUR TIMES! We watched it over and over and over just like Bill Murray lives the same day over and over and over. Get it? Get it‽ Sorry, we’re a little delirious. We recorded a bit between each viewing and do we uncover more nuance each time? Not really, but at least we repeat ourselves a lot. But it’s on purpose and totally meta. GET IT‽ Near the end things really get out of control and our children hijack our mics so we hope you enjoy that. And we give a shout out to a good podcast called “Any Album You Like” that also included repeated viewings of something. You should just listen to that podcast. Sorry the edit is a little rough, but we had to get it out today because what if there is no tomorrow? There wasn’t one today! The post 79 Groundhog Day appeared first on I Never Saw That.

78 Hottest Songs of ’94
So. It’s so. And murderer. It’s murderer. This is the “Misheard Lyrics” episode of I Never Saw That. So feel free to to laugh at us. Also laugh with us though, because we laugh with each other a lot and we have a lot of fun talking about the top songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 at the end of 1994. We talk about four songs in this episode and didn’t hear the correct lyrics to at least two of them. So 50/50. We’ll take those odds! Also, I talk SO all the time doesn’t make any goddamn sense so, whatever, slow is better. None of the other song we screwed up makes any sort of sense so “werdemup” works just as well if not better. WE FIXED YOUR SONGS LISA LOEB AND INI KAMOZE! YOU’RE WELCOME!!! Boyz, we can’t fix your shit. Sorry. Thanks for listening! The post 78 Hottest Songs of ’94 appeared first on I Never Saw That.

77 Jen Solo: INST Travel Edition
This episode is technically an episode. It is not good but at least it’s short! It’s just Jen, talking about some stuff. Our travels, a little bit of Montana, and some Randy Quaid (Uncle Eddie) from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. One thing Jen realized after listening to this is that if she would have lowered her voice just a little bit this could have been an ASMR episode! Feel free to listen to this one at bedtime! 76 Tommy Boy
This week we’re joined by a very special guest and friend of the podcast, Elliott! Jen and Elliott watched 1995’s Tommy Boy, the Chris Farley and David Spade classic, and Elliott shares his thoughts and innermost feelings. Micah didn’t watch it so he doesn’t talk about it much, but he does have another installment of everyone’s favorite segment for you, his fans. Jen finally brings back everyone’s least favorite segment, so there’s that too. Enjoy! The post 76 Tommy Boy appeared first on I Never Saw That.

75 The Quick and the Dead
We’re back with The Quick and the Dead! A different sort of western we guess? Who needs a plot when you have guns? This one’s a little long but we hope that since we haven’t released an episode in a damn month you won’t mind. Micah tries something new with see you in the funny papers this week, and one thing we can say about that is that it was definitely a thing we did and that it made Jen look like a real dillhole who cannot pick up on very obvious hints. Jen mostly gushes about Gene Hackman, who owns her heart *and* this damn town. The post 75 The Quick and the Dead appeared first on I Never Saw That.

74 All the Tattoo of Death Endings and Miscellanea
Well, this is a weird one. And that’s saying a lot if you look back at our oeuvre. There’s some ‘90s comic strip education, a little adventure choosing, some heavy talk of Montana and parental relationships, and a description of a game we play that we ripped off from a popular television show. See if you can keep up. SPOILER ALERT: We are about to ruin — no, that’s not the right word. It’s impossible to ruin something that is this bad. We’re about to give away all the endings to the R.A. Montgomery book “Tattoo of Death.” We’re not reading them all word for word, we’re just recapping. Originally we were going to do a 13-episode Tattoo of Death miniseries, called Tattoo of Death:The Miniseries:The Revenge. But now we’re not, OK? That was a ludicrous idea! This is better! As for the other content, I don’t even know what to say. Good luck I guess. And thank you. The post 74 All the Tattoo of Death Endings and Miscellanea appeared first on I Never Saw That.

73 Tattoo of Death Miniseries Episodes 1 and 2
Remember that wild Choose Your Own Adventure episode we did with the Yule brothers from Finish It‽ Well get ready for some more of that action, except without the Yule brothers and therefore a lot less good. We bring you our 13-episode Tattoo of Death miniseries, called Tattoo of Death:The Miniseries:The Revenge. These were going to be Patreon-exclusive minisodes (which is why it’s mostly just Jen reading the book) but we’d rather share all the remaining ways we can die in Tattoo of Death with ALL of you! We do this with Finish It’s blessing, in case you’re worried that we’re trying to steal their show. The post 73 Tattoo of Death Miniseries Episodes 1 and 2 appeared first on I Never Saw That.

72 Bad Hair Day
This week is all about Weird Al Yankovic’s Bad Hair Day from 1996! This topic was chosen by one of our newest Patreon supporters, Mike, and we had fun listening to this whole album for the first time. So thanks, Mike! Many tracks coincided with things we’ve already discussed in previous episodes, which we realized makes a lot of sense: Weird Al likes to be topical and relevant. Come for the parody and stay for the wicked accordion grooves. The post 72 Bad Hair Day appeared first on I Never Saw That.

71 Tattoo of Death with Finish It!
It’s a Finish It!/I Never Saw That crossover episode! Get ready for adventure as we explore the 1995 Choose Your Own Adventure book Tattoo of Death! We are joined by the official interactive fiction experts, the Yule brothers! This episode is a little long but trust us, it’s worth it. Every moment with the Yules is a goddamn delight. 70 Funny Papers Minisode
This episode is what happens when you let us talk and we don’t have an actual topic. We do “everyone’s favorite segment,” See You in the Funny Papers, and get deep about comic strips. We thank our newest patron. We talk about vasectomies, AND Micah announces a contest!! The post 70 Funny Papers Minisode appeared first on I Never Saw That.

Episode 69. Nice. CW: We talk about rape in this one, and the brutal, gratuitous rape scene from the movie we watched. Aside from that, get ready for some bad acting, even worse dancing, and lots of boobs! The post 69 NICE appeared first on I Never Saw That.

68 The Secret World of Alex Mack
This is Sadie! I have taken over the podcast. This episode is about The Secret World of Alex Mack. My mom and I talked about this show. I loved it! Alex has really cool powers and I really like her best friend Raymond. It was really fun to talk to my mom about The Secret World of Alex Mack. I hope you enjoy it! 67 Getting Even With Dad
First of all, ladies canNOT be cops. Secondly, in 1994 Ted Danson and Macaulay Culkin made a movie together. Whoopi Goldberg was not in it and contrary to Jen’s opinion, it was not directed by Howard Hughes. Jen really lets loose in this one, with mixed results. Micah shares another “great” comic. Ponytails are discussed at length, Deutch is now a verb, and we talk about a Montana dad memory. This episode has everything. Lastly, Jen would like to sincerely apologize to all people with languages for last names. The post 67 Getting Even With Dad appeared first on I Never Saw That.
