🎧171: 6-Figures in 6 Months Series: Part 3
I’m back for part 3 of the 4 part series all about my journey earning 6-figures in 6-months (and how you can too). Now, before diving into today’s episode, be sure to go back and listen to parts 1 and 2 if you haven’t already. These episodes are essential in helping you lay the groundwork needed to jump into the strategies I’ll be outlining in this episode. Are you ready? If you’re the person who’s been patiently waiting for the strategies, the wait is over! This episode is all about the very business decisions and strategies that I put in place when I was starting out. For starters, I reveal how investing in myself and my business changed everything for me. Truthfully, most people underestimate this part. We assume that we must have it all figured out by the time we start the business, right? But that couldn't be further from wrong, Lovely. I wouldn’t have been able to successfully implement these strategies if it wasn’t for the investments I made in my business. I used to think I’d be able to do this whole thing all by myself (hint: I couldn’t). I know money is where a lot of people freeze up, but that’s why I explain how getting help from experts actually saves you money and gives you BIG returns in the long-run (trust me). For example, sure, I could have guessed my way through Facebook Ads (and wasted time and money along the way), but I’m so grateful that I invested in Facebook Ad experts (Don’t worry, I share what I’ve learned in this very episode). Decisions like this changed my ability to target my ideal clients and to scale beyond belief (and can do the same for you). As for those strategies? Get ready to take some notes as I outline the 10 strategies I invested my time and money into to help me go from nothing (well, debt, to be exact) to 6-figures  in my business in 6 months. I explain how you can use the same structures to start (or scale)  your business. Listen as I explain the importance of everything from targeting your ideal clients to simply showing up unafraid and unapologetically as you put your services out into the world. I dive into the importance of market research and how developing strong, emotional connections with your audience can lead to sales. (Hint: shamelessly sharing your story is a must). Now, if strategies are something you struggle with (or you’re simply looking for that next level of support), I also give you the full run-down of my I Heart Coaching program in this episode (I know you’re curious!). I reveal what you can expect each month during the 6-month program and even offer an exclusive VIP opportunity just for you. This program is about as comprehensive as it gets, laying the foundation to scaling your success (and income) with mindset work, tried and true business strategies, and techniques for successful coaches! Trust me, you don't want to sit this one out. (Click here to learn more).  P.S. It’s not over yet! Be sure to tune in for this series’ final segment, part 4! As a whole, this series offers you nearly 4 hours of insight and actionable advice to help you step into your big dreams, just like I did. (I share details from my own story, including my struggles, to remind you that this is possible, Lovely). P.P.S. Are you craving the support outlined in this episode to help you step into your dreams but have no idea where to start? Book a call with one of our clarity coaches today to see how we can help you start living out your dreams ASAP.  In this episode… [02:20] Hear a recap of the first half of the 4-part series! (Be sure to catch part 1 and part 2 if you haven’t already). [05:08] This is your opportunity to grow stronger. [07:09] Hear one of the key aspects of my success (Hint: most people underestimate it). [12:25] The importance of getting clear on your ideal client (including what services to offer) and how to market to them.  [14:44] What I’ve learned about Facebook ads. [16:19] The power of story (how telling your story helps make connections with your clients). [19:20] The benefit of confidently pitching your offerings (overcoming fear of being “sales-y”). [23:00] Building emotional connection with your clients (and how market research can help). [26:21] Learn how I Heart Coaching can help you and your business (month by month breakdown of the program’s curriculum!). [34:45] What comes with the program? [36:20] Did someone say VIP?... hear about this opportunity! [41:04] Recap of the 10 structures to put in place for your business. Links & Resources: Register for I Heart Coaching today. What shifted, how did you go from those 54 nos to having a 6-figure business in 6 months?’ And honestly, it was because I learned from the best and I didn't try and do all of this by myself.” - Emily Williams “As women, we connect through stories. And so I've found that to be really, really vital in my success. And I haven't been afraid to be the face of my brand and really be the voice of my brand and to tell people why it is I do what I do. Why I'm so passionate about this work. Why it's so important to me. And why I believe in your gifts and your talents and your unique abilities that are needed in this world.” -Emily Williams “So just creating that Facebook page, and then sending them to a sales page all about your program? It's not enough. Again, you have to build that relationship.” -Emily Williams “So you never know what's going to happen when you say yes to your dreams and you step up to the plate and you really go for it and in a very big way. So hold that faith in yourself. Hold that faith in your services and be that confident, successful female entrepreneur.” -Emily Williams

🎧169: 6-Figures in 6 Months Series: Part 1
I was literally on my way to find an apartment in Chicago (where I was soon to be enrolled in grad school) when I got that feeling in the pit of my stomach that something wasn’t right… Do you know the feeling? When you know you are not living the life you desire. But guess what? That moment changed the course of my life and, ultimately, led me here. So this episode is actually the first in a four-part series that is so incredibly powerful in helping you lay the foundation for chasing your dreams. For saying yes to your desires. So whether you have the dream of starting your own business or scaling one you already have, literally whatever it is that you desire, this episode (and series) is for you. Listen to part one as I share a bit about my story and how I went from a quarter-life crisis to a 6-figure business owner. How I went from earning $442 in my first month as a coach to hitting 6-figures in only 6 months (yes, really). Now, remember, if it was possible for me-- small-town girl swimming in debt-- it is literally possible for you too. Now, I will be the first to admit that having the support of insightful mentors and access to some amazing programs made a huge difference in my journey and success. I’m so grateful and that’s why I want to pay it forward by sharing this recording with you today. In this episode, I’m diving into the four big things that I did to actually get started on the path towards my dream business (and 6-figures). I talk about why you need to start saying yes to your dreams and no to fear. I explain why investing in your business is investing in yourself and your dreams (and is a total must-do). I’ll discuss why I recommend getting started even if you don’t have all the answers or systems in place. Lastly, I touch upon why you need to focus on working smart when building your business. What happened when I said yes to my dreams? What happened when I moved past fears and invested in myself and my business? I went from making $442 last July to six figures that January. Now, it’s time to start thinking about what is possible for you. After you’ve listened to this episode, be sure to tune back in for the three remaining episodes in this four-part series! P.S.  There’s still time to save your seat for my up-coming LIVE webinar all about building that 6-figure coaching business! So, if you are ready to commit to saying yes to your desires and stepping into your dream of running a 6-figure coaching business, you don’t want to miss this! So often I meet women who have been squashing their dreams. For years they've been telling themselves, ‘It's not realistic,’ or ‘It's not possible for me,’ or ‘She can do it, but I can't.’ Well, you know what? If someone's out there doing it, it's possible for you too.” -Emily Williams “You don't have to have everything figured out before you start -- just get started and just get moving towards your dreams.” -Emily Williams “When you have that openness. And you have that fearlessness. And you have that belief that you are deserving of something good and you are deserving of living your dreams and your desires and achieving the life that you want-- and really receive that with gratitude and with an open heart-- your dreams are going to be presented to you in a way that's even bigger than you could have imagined.” -Emily Williams

🎧167: How to Use Human Design to Create More Success with Katie Irvine
Are you looking to create more success, joy, energy, and momentum in your life and business? Maybe you’re looking for more clarity around what you should be doing in life and how to open that door for success. You, my friend, are not alone. I’ve seen so many people get caught up in going down a path they feel obligated to go down because of some life experience they’ve had or what they saw someone else do. In reality, we should be paying more attention to what feels right and aligned than what we think we are supposed to be doing. We only live one life, so we deserve to do the thing that lights us up and makes us feel connected to our purpose. That’s why I’m so excited to have Katie Irvine on the IHML Show. Katie is an amazingly insightful woman and Human Design expert (she used to be one of our VAs!) who has so much to offer in terms of helping people utilize their Human Design to better their lives (and businesses). Katie’s passion for Human Design comes from a place of personal experience. She witnessed first hand how alignment with her energy and design can transform your life. After learning about Human Design for the first time (at an IHML retreat) she was obsessed and knew she wanted to help others use Human Design to find more peace and happiness in their own lives (we recently invited her to do this with our Mastermind students). Fast forward a few years and that’s exactly what she is doing in her own business today (and she absolutely loves it). Listen as we dive into all the things from Katie’s own experiences with Human Design (and ultimately starting her business) to how you too can benefit in your life and business by better understanding your own design. For those of you new to the whole Human Design thing, don’t worry. Katie explains exactly what it is (including a breakdown of the five main design types) and how it can help you not only better understand yourself, but how you best interact with everything happening around you as well. I’m telling you, once you understand your design type, you can better tap into your energy and literally change your life-- just like Katie did. So, if you are ready to stop doing what doesn’t feel right and start learning how to better align with your energy and the world around you, this episode is for you. So, why wait? If you don’t know it already, I recommend you find out about your Human Design today (Katie recommends using myBodyGraph.com) because it will help you pave the path toward success and happiness in every aspect of your life. P.S. If you like what you hear in this episode (I know you will), be sure to check out Katie’s special promo code for IHML Show listeners. Use promo code ‘iheartmylife’ to get 33% off Katie’s incredible Energy Types Classes so you can begin learning more about your specific design and how it can help you live your best life today. In this episode… [02:27] Welcome Katie and hear her journey with Human Design. [05:04] Hear Katie explain her struggle finding her own path. [09:19] What drew Katie to Human Design? [12:00] Listen as Katie explains how Human Design helped her step into her true self. [15:01] What exactly is Human Design? [17:35] Katie explains how to use your chart to better utilize your energy and find success. [21:03] How Katie started her own business with Human Design (including all the struggles!). [28:00] The importance of showing up in a way that feels right. [28:50] Hear about what Katie offers through her business. [30:41] Keeping your eyes open to your HD can pave your success and support your growth. [34:07] Get connected with Katie (IHML listeners can get a discount on her courses!) And it was just something that clicked in a lot of the pieces to understand better how I can help people and how I'm different from others or have something different to offer.” -Katie Irvine “When you're not being honest or authentic or true to yourself and constantly trying to replicate what other people are doing, at least in my experience, it doesn't work. It doesn't feel good. It's not fun.” -Katie Irvine “If astrology and a personality test had a baby… that's kind of human design.” -Katie Irvine “I mean, we get this one life. Like for those of us who are punishing ourselves, trying to build this thing, you have to ask yourself, is that really the way you want to be spending your time and the way you want to be showing up?” -Emily Williams

🎧166: Our Top 10 Lessons from 2020: Part 2 with James Williams
...And we’re back! In this episode, James and I review the rest of our top lessons from 2020. While this past year had its fair share of ups and downs, we cannot deny the endless opportunities to learn and the immense growth and personal development that took place. We’ve spent a lot of time discussing how changes and challenges help make us stronger and more resilient. They open important doors in the realm of personal and professional development. It’s what you do in the face of change and challenge that really determines the trajectory of the outcome. While we’re excited to be back and share our thoughts and lessons from this year, we encourage you to think about the lessons you’ve learned. To consider how you’ve grown. Whether some of your biggest lessons are the same as ours or not, we hope that in sharing these, you can head into the new year with actionable steps that will prepare you to step into your dreams in 2021. So, as you listen, consider what you can take away from our lessons and how they can inspire you to take action in your own life. Because that’s what it’s all about, right? Taking action? If James and I went through this whole year, especially the challenges, and chose not to do anything differently, chose not to make any changes, chose not to face the realizations or have honest conversations with ourselves and others, our business wouldn’t be thriving in the way it is today. We wouldn’t be fulfilled in the ways we are today. So, listen as we not only share more lessons from 2020 but how we took actions (or plan to) and made changes for the better. We encourage you to do the same because life is all about learning and growing. 2020 was a great reminder that, while we can’t control what life will throw at us, we can control how we respond to it. This two-part series is more than just the lessons we learned from 2020, it’s also a celebration.  We celebrate each other’s growth. We’re proud of the growth of the business and the IHML Community. We want to celebrate yours too. We believe that no matter what 2020 looked like for you, you can reach your goals faster. You can have more joy in your life, improve your health, make more money-- whatever it is you desire. It starts by taking action. So tag us on Instagram @iheartmylife or email us at info@Iheartmylife.com and tell us how you are going to take action in the new year. If you don’t know where to start, we’ve got your back. Download our free (and incredible) New Year’s Guide to get started today. In this episode… [00:01] Hear about our new (and free) Near Year’s Guide! [03:45] Lesson 4 from Emily: The importance of having honest conversations. [07:40] Lesson 4 from James: Identify your lane and stay in it. [10:36] Lesson 5  from Emily: Planning is everything. [13:34] Listen as we reflect on how much we’ve changed. [14:59] Lesson 5 from James: Limit or eliminate distractions that compromise your state. [19:27] The importance of bettering ourselves. And one of the things I think people can do to really check-in is just ask yourself, am I in alignment?” -Emily Williams “It's never about being this perfect human being. And I think that we will always fall off the horse and make mistakes, but it's about the bounce back.” -James Williams “As the years come to us in the future, we don't know what's going to be thrown at us. We don't know what challenges the world is going to face. The one thing you always have control over is how you respond to it.” -James Williams

🎧165: Our Top 10 Lessons from 2020: Part 1 with James Williams
I feel like 2020 has prepared us for just about anything life can throw at us, am I right? I mean, this year was definitely filled with many ups and downs, but they all served as lessons we could learn and grow from. As we look forward to the year ahead, I want to support you as you set yourself up for success. So, in addition to listening to this episode, I invite you to download our free (and incredible) New Year’s Guide. At IHML, we recognize the value in learning from our experience, including the good, the bad, and the ugly. No matter the year, our mission is to help you step into your dream and live your best life. Now, knowing that 2020 was filled with unexpected challenges and unprecedented change, we wanted to share some of the most important realizations we had and lessons we learned this year in hopes of inspiring you to confidently move into the new year. This is a special episode of a two-part installment where James and I share our top 10 lessons from 2020. In this episode, listen as James and I talk through the first half of our list of lessons from 2020. These lessons have helped us find success (personally and professionally) despite the chaos and change this year brought. The best part? These lessons can be applied to next year and beyond for continued growth and prosperity. We talk about everything from how the pandemic showed us the benefit of being able to pivot (and led to some amazing virtual events), the importance of getting clear around your purpose (and then staying true to it), and the perks of keeping it simple. We talk about why you need to show up as yourself, getting what you pay for, and why recovery is just as important (if not more) than putting in the effort. Seriously, there’s a lot of good stuff in there. You don’t want to miss it. I love to have you tuning into the show, but I want to remind you of the importance of taking action. I hope you can learn from what we shared today and I hope this episode inspires you to reflect back on the lessons you learned from your life in 2020. More importantly, I would love to see you implement some of these teachings in your own life and business. In fact, I’d love for you to email us at info.Iheartmylife.com and tell us how you are going to take action in the new year. We love hearing about the changes our community is making in their lives. Speaking of taking action, don’t forget to tune into our next episode of the IHML Show to hear the second half of our list! In this episode… [00:01] Hear about our new (and free) Near Year’s Guide! [03:41] Welcome, James! [04:50] Lesson 1 from Emily: Be willing to pivot. [07:38] Lesson 1 from James: Get clear on your purpose. [10:10] Lesson 2 from Emily: Keep it simple. [12:14] A note on the benefit of mastery. [14:06] Lesson 2 from James: Identify your success markers. [17:00] Lesson 3 from Emily: You get what you pay for. [20:46] Lesson 3 from James: Finding your regiment to generate and maintain energy. [23:09] Recovery is just as important (if not more) than putting in the effort. And self-care is how you take that power back no matter what is happening in the world.” -James Williams

🎧164: How to Close One Year and Start Another
A new year is an opportunity for a fresh start, right? It’s an incredible way to put the past behind us and move forward with a clean slate. However, before moving forward, I believe it’s so important to reflect on our challenges and celebrate our growth over the past 365 days to help us kick off the new year feeling resilient, powerful, and proud. I’d be willing to bet that 2020 did not unfold the way you had planned (am I right?). Now, I’m sure we’re all hoping the new year brings opportunities to travel, be with loved ones, get back to some sense of normalcy-- but we shouldn’t deny what 2020 has graced us with. While 2020 certainly introduced us to new challenges, it also brought new opportunities for growth and invitations for success. We have to acknowledge these lessons and find closure in this year before we can courageously jump into the next. Now, I want you to know that I want the best for you in 2021 (and beyond), but I know that it is not as easy as wishing dreams into existence. So, I recorded this episode with the hope of inspiring you to set yourself up to achieve your dreams in the new year. I want you, my friend, to jump into 2021 fueled by your achievements (and lessons learned from challenges) this past year. I want you to find clarity around your intentions and desires for what’s ahead. I want you to prepare to take action in the direction of your dreams. I want you to do the thing you dream of. Join me as I lead you through the important things to think about as you close out this year and prepare for the next. I invite you to listen as I walk through the three-step process that will help set yourself up for success. I wanted to talk about the importance of reflection (including questions you can ask yourself today to get started) as a way of finding closure. I share ways you can find clarity around and move into what it is you want to create for 2021-- yes, I’m talking about listening to your desires and setting those intentions, my friend (in both business and life in general). Lastly, I invite you to move forward by aligning your desires with actions. I invite you to commit to your transformation. At IHML, we want you to feel supported as you reflect on this past year and prepare for all that is to come in 2021. We want you to feel ready to fully step into what is possible for you. So, be sure to listen to this episode (and don’t forget to grab our free New Year’s Guide) as you prepare for your best year yet. In this episode… [02:34] Freebie alert! Supporting you heading into the new year. [03:19] The importance of reflection. [04:54] Dealing with challenges. [06:41] What worked for you? [08:59] Questions to help you get closure with 2020. [10:07] Looking at the new year as a fresh start. [11:16] What are your intentions and desires for the year to come? [14:55] Who do you need to be to reach these goals? [15:58] How are you going to hold yourself accountable? Are you going to show up? [17:57] Commit to taking action. [19:56] Be patient with yourself and trust in your dream. They're like, okay, great. So there's a lesson here, bring it. I can totally handle it. I'm going to pivot. I'm going to transform. We're going to do better next time. And we're going to grow stronger throughout this challenge.”  -Emily Williams “You wouldn't be aware of the desire unless you were energetically aligned to it. So that's what's going on here when you have a desire. And then in the process of getting the desire, you become the person who's able to have it.” -Emily Williams “You have to be aware of what it's going to take to reach these goals. And that's where I see a lot of people going wrong. I don't want you to just set out these goals or write out your desires. We need to be aware around [if] we actually want these things. And if so, are we willing to put in the effort?” -Emily Williams

🎧163: How to Handle the "I Don't Have the Money” Excuse on Sales Calls: A Real Coaching Session with Suzie Flynn
Think of a time when you said no to something because of money. Now, think about a time when you said yes to something, despite the money. What was the difference? Let’s face it, people use money as an excuse all the time, but the thing is, money is rarely at the root of the hesitation to say yes. If a strong and clear desire is there, we find a way. We find or borrow the money we need. We do what we have to do to make it happen. So, yes, this can be understandably confusing when it comes to sales calls. I mean, wouldn’t booking a call indicate desire in the first place? I know, it can be frustrating working with clients who can’t confidently commit to your offer. That’s why I wanted to invite you to listen to this recording of a recent coaching call I had with one of my IHML Mastermind students, Suzie Flynn. Suzie is a coach to virtual assistants who want to start their own business and she came to me looking for advice and support when it comes to dealing with the “I don’t have the money” excuse from her clients.  Like Suzie, you deserve to work with clients who are ready to commit to you and all you have to offer. That’s why I am so excited to share this episode that will help you sift through the excuses that are standing in the way of hearing that confident “yes” you are looking for (and also help you recognize when the client isn’t quite ready). So, join us as I walk her through the steps needed to help clients move through what it is that’s really holding them back: fear and uncertainty. I explain just why clarifying a client’s desire is an imperative first step on any sales call, how to have honest conversations with them about money, and what needs to shift within you in order to show up more bold and confident on those calls. We talk about everything from process to marketing (and how celebrating client success publicly helps plant the seed for yes in others). While I may be coaching Suzie on this particular call, this episode is filled with tangible takeaways that you can apply to sales calls with your own clients. You will walk away from this episode with tools that can help support them in knowing that they're making the right decision (and make it with confidence).  From specific questions you can ask to processes you can implement, you can learn so much simply by pressing play. If you enjoy the coaching you heard in this episode, remember that you too could qualify for a chance to win a one-to-one session with me in our incredible I Heart My Life Membership. The doors are opening soon, so make sure to save your spot on the waiting list! In this episode… [02:28] Welcome, Suzie! Hear her goals for the session. [03:15] Suzie’s experience with client excuses (including how she handles it). [05:21] Helping clients getting clear on their desires. [08:18] Asking them, what would getting to a yes look like? 🎧162: What Worked in 2020: Installment Two with Valerie Del Grosso
As the year comes to a close, I hope you spend some time reflecting and celebrating how far you have come in 2020-- I know it’s been a wild ride. If there’s one thing that this year has taught me, it’s that mindset is so important when it comes to basically every aspect of life. Even in the midst of a global pandemic, people have been out there doing big things. People are saying yes to their dreams. They’re taking risks and making leaps in the direction of their desires. They’re letting go of what no longer serves them and making more time and space for what lights them up. Truthfully, I’ve been blown away by the transformations I’ve seen in the IHML Mastermind this year. I know this year has had its unforeseen challenges, but it’s been so inspiring to work alongside these amazing women who have completely changed their lives and businesses in 2020. I’m truly in awe of these women and all they have accomplished. That’s why I’m delighted to share with you the second installment of this series reviewing what worked for some of our lovely Mastermind students. Today, I invited Val Del Grosso to come on the show and not only share her 2020 transformation, but reveal the exact mindset shifts that helped make it possible. I invite you to not only listen to Val’s incredible story, but to consider how you too can make similar mindset shifts for the benefit of your life and business in the new year. Val is a lawyer who, like many business owners out there, expanded her business online in 2020. What makes her stand out is that she nearly doubled her business (and brought in 20k months) by spending only 10 to 12 hours on her online business each month. Even better? She got these incredible results without having to double her efforts (or run herself into the ground). So listen as Val reveals the shifts she made in her mindset and how taking the leap to join the Mastermind helped bring clarity around how to get the results she knew she wanted. We talk about everything from setting up the right offers to how showing up authentically with your clients. Val even gives us a glimpse of how these shifts in her business have led not only to financial success but more alignment and happiness in her life. So, I invite you to listen along and begin thinking about how you can implement similar shifts in your life and business in the new year and beyond. And if you are feeling inspired by Valerie’s amazing transformation in 2020 (I mean, who wouldn’t be!?)  and want to know if our IHML Mastermind can help support you too, head over to our website to see how we can help you in the new year. In this episode… [02:58] Welcome, Val! Hear about the work she does as a lawyer. [04:15] Hear about some of the shifts she made in her online business this year. [05:44] What were her goals for her business this year? (and how she found clarity) [06:50] Hear how she achieved her goals with just 12 hours a month! [08:36] What were the game changers for her? [10:12] Why you can stop guessing what your clients want. [10:57] You don’t have to compromise your dream (or happiness) for financial success. [15:22] Listen as Valarie reveals one of her big realizations this year. [16:15] Hear how leaning into her constraints helped guide her success. [17:48] “You don’t need thousands of clients to make a really great income.” [19:00] Hear Val’s advice to people looking to transform their life going into 2021. And so the Mastermind was a place where I could come to talk to people about what exactly was possible through the example that other people were setting in their own businesses. So that was kind of right at the start of the year-- I had something, but I wasn't exactly sure what it was or what it could be.” -Valerie Del Grosso “How often are we guessing when we could just ask people what it is that they want from us? And people are telling us that on a regular basis, if we're willing to listen as well. There's always clues in terms of their questions.” -Emily Williams “It's not about the dollars in the bank. It's really about the life that you're creating and allowing yourself to have freedom and to have choice and everyone's version of success looks different.” -Emily Williams “It's just this dream scenario now. And I thought I would have to compromise so much of that for the financial results, but actually focusing on the relationship and the way I want to feel in doing this work has brought so much abundance.”  -Valerie Del Grosso

🎧159: How to Know If You're Out Of Alignment with Lindsay Roselle
You know those seasons of your business (or life) when things just don’t feel right? You’re not wrong. Being in alignment in your life, both personally and professionally, is so incredibly important. The truth is, when you're personally out of alignment, your business will reflect that. That’s why I’m so excited to have Lindsay Roselle joining me on this episode to talk about all things alignment. Lindsay’s journey from corporate success to entrepreneurial endeavors is one we can all learn from. We begin by talking about everything from her decision to leave the security of the corporate world to the struggles she faced early on in her entrepreneurial journey. By sharing her story, she reminds us that while the road to alignment isn’t always smooth sailing, the end result is totally worth it. Because here’s the thing, alignment might be more imperative now than ever before. We live in a fast-paced world with a lot of high expectations set by what we see online and on social media. It’s so easy to get caught up with comparing yourself to the success of others and getting lost in the hustle mindset. I hope that my discussion with Lindsay can help remind you to pay attention to your now because getting too caught up in the future can lead to misalignment before you even get there. One of the great things about Lindsay is that she practices what she preaches. She literally started her business, Women & Inc, because the community she wanted to be a part of didn’t yet exist. She gets candid about the gumption (and humility to ask for help) it took to get her business started, and reveals the role alignment has played (and continues to play) as both she and her business evolve. And what started with 83 women in a bar (with only one table reserved!), now hosts events with nearly 2,000 attendees… so she must be on to something. Listen as Lindsay graciously shares her framework for getting (and staying) in alignment that she uses with her clients and how this framework can be used as a way to stay honest about your happiness and your desires. She also shares how she knows when she’s out of alignment. This was actually one of the most brilliant mile markers we’ve heard in a long time and something most people overlook, but it’s a tell-tale sign that something’s off. (You’ll have to listen to learn what it is!)  And finally, she reminds us that success doesn't have to come at the cost of stress and unhappiness. At IHML, we want you to love your life in every sense of the word. So, if you have a hunch that something is not exactly aligned, or maybe you're just not feeling happy with your life or business, press play on this episode and learn all the things to help you get back to living your best life. In this episode… [02:38] Welcome Lindsay! Learn more about the story behind her success. [04:48] Hear Lindsay’s experience leaving the security of the corporate world. [06:29] How she knew she was ready to take the leap into entrepreneurship. [08:28] Finding fulfillment can be a bumpy road-- and that’s okay. [10:10] The beginning of Women& Inc. [17:15] The power of the community brain. [19:15] What surprised Lindsay the most about owning her own business? [22:48] Hear what Masterminds have taught Lindsay about alignment. [23:48] Navigating desire and alignment at the beginning of your new career. [26:30] “We’re all always in the work” (of alignment). [28:41] Key signs of being out of alignment. [32:38] Learn what Lindsay does when she’s feeling out of alignment. [33:58] Acknowledging and learning from misalignment. [36:29] What is one way people can create a life that's better than their dreams? Hear Lindsay’s response. And as soon as you personally get out of alignment, nothing else is going to work.” -Lindsay Roselle “We're all always in the work. We're always in the work of figuring out what is aligned, what is true for us and, and what it's okay. If stuff changes it's okay. If life evolves, you just have to have those mechanisms in place and the support in place to keep coming back to yourself and, and trust that as soon as something starts to feel not in there, not in alignment that you have the power to stop it.” -Lindsay Roselle “I think where we get in trouble is where we're trying to sell too many things, or we're trying to keep up with the influencer on Instagram and run a challenge and do all these things on top of each other. And yeah, you might have a great financial month, but if it's at the cost of your alignment, if it's at the cost of your ability to take a day off or to sit in stillness and like being with yourself, those extra couple hundred thousand dollars are not worth it.” -Lindsay Roselle

🎧157: How Focusing on Yourself Improves Your Relationships
When’s the last time you focused on what makes you happy? Do you worry that doing more for yourself is going to negatively impact the important relationships in your life? You aren’t the only one, my friend. So many of us get trapped in this idea that putting others first is the magical ingredient to successful relationships. That’s simply not true. In fact, the opposite is true. This episode is all about why and how the success of your relationships with others depends on your ability to put yourself first I know, it sounds counterintuitive. But it really makes a lot of sense when you dig deeper. So yes, I’m here to tell you that it is okay to be selfish. The truth is, the individual is just as important as the relationship. In romance, we get so caught up in this idea of finding the person who “completes” us that we lose sight of what makes us happiest and healthiest. We spend so much time worrying about how others are going to judge our decisions and trying to do what we think will create the least amount of conflict. However, if you think about it, successful relationships are about communication, not judgement. That’s why James and I recorded this episode. We wanted to talk about how focusing on and learning about ourselves keeps our relationship strong. We’ve been able to grow together as individuals and a couple and we hope the journey we’ve been on in our relationship can help you reflect upon your own. Oh,and don’t get caught up by the word “relationship” here. The advice we dive into in this episode is seriously for anyone. Our advice can be applied to relationships with friends, spouses, teammates (even spouses who are teammates), you name it. Taking care of yourself is the best thing you can do for any relationship. That’s why we use this episode to discuss just why it’s so imperative to be able to define what makes you happy and why you need to stop making yourself wrong for whatever that may be. We touch upon the importance of being honest and speaking your truth in relationships. We also look into how our relationships are actually a reflection of our relationship with ourselves (including the judgements and fears we have!). Lastly, we touch upon why having differences is okay (and how to know when a relationship is no longer serving you). We hope this episode can help you understand why creating a positive, strong, healthy relationship with yourself will open the door for you to have an incredible relationship with your spouse (or anyone else in your life). And if this episode inspires you and you are looking for more support in being true to your more authentic self and transforming your mindset, remember that the IHML Community is about so much more than business. Head over to iheartmylifebooking.com to book a call with us to learn about how we can help transform your business and life. In this episode… [02:37] Welcome back, James! [03:49] Hear why the individual is just as important as the couple. [05:47] What has James learned about himself over the years to lead to a better relationship? [08:12] “What makes you happy?” [09:16] Hear how not making herself wrong has improved Emily’s relationships. [10:20] Our fear of others’ judgements are really our judgments of ourselves. [12:09] Relationships don’t have to last together if they’re not right. [15:12] The importance of being honest and speaking your truth. [19:35] Our relationships are a reflection of our relationship with ourselves. [21:53] Understanding that it is okay to have differences. [26:44] Decoding the phrase “relationships take work.” [28:13] Why you should be more selfish. Because if you're not your everything, how on earth can you expect to be making the choices that are going to make you happy? If you can't be your everything, and you're putting that on someone else, you're taking your own power away to resolve the inevitable challenges that come along with life.” -James Willaims “I think we all have these rules in our minds about what relationships are supposed to look like, how we're supposed to behave. And then of course, there's gender roles. And it's just in our perspective, the most important thing has been to be honest, and to honor ourselves and to essentially put ourselves first.” -Emily Williams “All great teams are made up of individuals who are authentic and owning their mastery to the best of their ability. And then the skill is to take those individuals and match them in a way that creates a result.“ -James Williams

🎧155: What Worked in 2020: Installment One with Rose Lounsbury
2020 has been quite the year, but I think it’s important to note that there has been some good amid all of this chaos. Yes, this year has been brought upon unprecedented changes and challenges in so many ways. On the other hand, it’s been full of opportunities to get realigned with our purpose and intuition. To shift our mindset to be more grateful for the little things that bring us joy. To open the door for new opportunities in our lives and businesses. I am so excited to share this conversation with one of my incredible IHML Mastermind students, Rose Lounsbury, because her transformation over the last year is just so inspiring. Rose is living proof that even in the craziest of years (hello, 2020!) you have the power to change your life. You can still scale your business (or completely change it, like Rose did). You can create more time and space for what makes you happy. You can learn to take better care of yourself mental and physically. While Rose is a simplicity coach specializing in helping people living happier lives with less stuff, she entered 2020 ready for more. More fulfillment. More happiness. More success in her business. She leveraged this year to learn and grow as she finally stopped saying yes to what no longer served her and started saying yes to her intuition. We talk about everything from transitioning into an online business, engaging more with her audience (and family!), practicing more gratitude, making better decisions for her health, and doing more of what makes her happy. So, tune in to this episode to learn just what Rose did this year to lead to both personal and professional success (she literally shares a list!). The best part? Rose is completely transparent here. Listen as she gets real about the challenge of learning to trust yourself. Hear her thoughts on everything from how simplifying the expectations you have for yourself can totally change your day to why asking for help is not a weakness. I’m telling you, by listening to this conversation, you will walk away with more than an inspiring story. You’ll also have a list of key takeaways you can apply to your own transformation starting today. Are you feeling inspired by Rose’s success story yet? Same. Every time I hear her story, I’m blown away. Truthfully, I’m honored to be a part of it through our Mastermind. The IHML Mastermind helped transform Rose’s life by giving her the tools and support she needed to step into her power and continue living her best life. If you’re curious to see if we can do that for you too, head over to our website to see how IHML Mastermind could help transform your life too. In this episode… [04:11] Welcome Rose! 🎧154: How to Use Gratitude to Transform Your Life
‘Tis the season to be grateful, right? But, honestly, gratitude deserves a special place in your heart and mind every. single. day.  It’s all about a shift in your mindset. I mean, how many times have you gotten out of bed with dread on your heart and on your mind? It’s time to start retraining your brain to focus on the positive (it really does work) and I’m totally here for it. I continue to be blown away by the power of adopting a more grateful mindset. Gratitude has changed my life in so many ways (including leading me to create I Heart My Life) and it can do the same for you. I know-- we’re all busy. But all it takes is a mere few minutes of each day to create meaningful shifts in your life (and business). Truthfully, it took hitting a low point in my life (hello, quarter-life crisis) for me to reconnect with the idea of gratitude and really look into making it part of my day-to-day life. I was at a point where I was ready and willing to try anything to feel good again. To have clarity. To find my purpose. And so began my journey of intentionally practicing gratitude each and every day.  And here’s what I quickly realized: Gratitude follows the Law of Attraction. The more we acknowledge the positive influences in our life, the more goodness and positivity we will attract. No joke, I landed my dream job and my dream guy after shifting into a more grateful mindset. But being grateful means you have to settle, right? Wrong. I found that my gratitude helped propel me in the direction of my desires. Here’s how it works: Once you start paying attention to the good things you have in front of you, the more awareness you’ll have for the possibilities before you. And this isn’t just some overly idealistic thought, either. Listen as I share the research supporting the positive impact practicing gratitude has on our minds (including changing and retraining our brains) and bodies, as well as those around us. Friends, gratitude has the power to change the world and now is the perfect time to create your own gratitude practice. Like I said, it only takes a few minutes a day... Ready to learn how? Press play! In this Episode: [02:12] My roots with gratitude. [04:28] Learn the power of the little things. [05:34] Drive and gratitude can co-exist. [06:02] We get what we focus on. 🎧153: Top Tips for Smart Hiring with Dom Farnan
Does the thought of hiring members to your team totally overwhelm you? Are you worried about the how-to behind finding, training, and retaining the right people for your team? Well, my friend, you are not alone. Truthfully, I am still working on this process in my company. That’s why I am so grateful for my newfound friendship with Dom Farnan, a woman who has literally made a life out of recruiting the right people to get a job done. Dom’s road to running a successful business (and team) is a unique one. She began paving her path toward entrepreneurship at just 17 (!!) years old and has so much to offer here as she shares the journey that led her to the career she has today: running a small team of 15 people at her recruitment agency, Dot Connect. Listen as she shares her trials and tribulations in hopes of helping you build the right team for your business. It took a friend to push her to move beyond her scarcity mindset and take the leap toward hiring a team, but once she did, Dom quickly learned how leading with abundance can totally change your confidence as a business owner and leader. After a few bumps in the road (client pushback is real) and scaling back her team that was a little too big for her vision, Dom realized building a team allowed her to build her business. As for her fears of transitioning responsibility over to other people? Having a team doesn’t have to mean you’re out of the picture. Dom explains how it’s all about being intentional with hiring the right people and setting them (and inherently your business) up for success. Despite what your fears are telling you, operating a successful business doesn’t have to be a one-woman show. Listen as we discuss how having a team is actually beneficial to your clients and opens new possibilities when it comes to scaling your business.  She gives the rundown of how to approach the hiring process (hint: don’t rush it), including looking for people who align with your values and possess beneficial attributes that cannot be taught (like, as Dom says, “giving a sh*t”).    Worried about how to go about handing off responsibilities to your team? It can be scary for sure. Take baby steps, start with the foundations, and lead by example. Having your team members shadow you is always a great idea. And guess what? When you surround yourself with people you can teach and trust to do the job well, it feels really empowering. You might just even find time to focus on other aspects of your life and business that you love.  In this Episode: [02:29] Meet Dom! [04:17] Hear how Dom found her place in the world of recruitment. 🎧152: Teaching from Our Millionaire Summit: How to Raise the Bar in Life and Business
If you missed out on our Millionaire Summit, this is a special treat for you. In this episode, I share the actual recording of my teaching from the training. So, if you’re ready to own your dreams and desires, and if you were ready to hit that coveted seven-figure milestone– like yesterday– you don’t want to miss this. Grab a notebook, get comfortable, and press play. I was able to raise the bar and build a seven-figure business by keeping a possibility mindset. I held myself to the expectation that I could bring life to my vision and took action in the direction of my dreams. And guess what? It’s possible for you too. But it’s easy to want to do the big thing. Actually doing it? That takes time, effort, and dedication. That’s why I begin this episode with why it’s so important to really specify your goals and own your desires, instead of feeling wrong for them. Being honest with yourself helps uncover the fears that are holding you back. Now, you are not alone in your fears (you can hear the real-life fears of the summit attendees in this episode), but you can’t allow yourself to remain stuck. If you want to raise the bar, you can’t keep playing it small. What if instead of fearing your goals, you practiced future gratitude for achievements they will bring? (Hint: it will literally create more positive vibes for you). Now I’m not perfect (let’s be honest, no one is), but I know how important it is to commit to myself and my goals no matter what. That’s why I talk about the importance of commitment, consistency, and showing up even when it feels like it is not happening (like during a period of 54 ‘no’s in a row– true story). This devotion and commitment to yourself is the difference between raising the bar or staying where you’re at. Successful people have the following in common: They know what it is that they actually want. They uncover what might be holding them back and do the work to overcome and transform their physical and mental blocks. They continue to show up. And last, but certainly not least, they are consistent in their commitment to themselves and their vision. With that in mind, I wrap up with a series of questions you can ask yourself today to help you get on track to achieving those goals you’ve been dreaming about (remember, dreams without action are just… well, dreams). Despite all of the insightful advice and actionable steps, there’s so much more to raising the bar that couldn’t possibly fit into a single podcast episode. So, if you’re interested in learning more about how you can raise the bar and hit that seven-figure milestone, check out our I Heart My Life Mastermind to see how we can help you get there. In this Episode: [03:29] Creeping or quantum leaping: What would you choose? [04:20] My story (the SparkNotes version). It’s not even a question. It’s a no brainer. That’s what you’re meant to do. And once you start trusting that, then you can trust that the people in your life will be there if they’re meant to be there.” -Emily Williams “Our desires are our fuel. When we deny them, when we make ourselves wrong for them, then we won’t reach them. Because we don’t want to judge ourselves. And if we’re judging those desires, that’s exactly what’s going to happen. So what if you showed gratitude for your desires before they arrive and also just because they exist they’re helping you raise the bar.” -Emily Williams “If you are an entrepreneur and looking to do extraordinary things, you need to become extraordinary in terms of your mindset and your actions. So you need to stop holding yourself back. You are capable of far more than you realize. Now, what that takes is a commitment to yourself.” -Emily Williams

🎧 151: What to Do When Fear Keeps You From Your Dreams: A Real-Life Coaching Session with Anne McHale
Let me ask you this: What’s holding you back from your next great idea? From your big dream? From doing the thing you can’t stop thinking about? If your answer is fear, you’re not alone. Follow along as I share a real-life coaching session with one of our amazing I Heart My Life membership students all about tackling that fear that is keeping her from pursuing her next big achievement. Meet Anne McHale. Anne is a wine connoisseur with many years of experience working as a consultant and teacher in the hospitality industry. After COVID pushed her to launch her first online program this past August, Anne saw the doors of possibility fly open. Now, she is looking to level up her income and stop trading her time for money by tapping into the larger market of the general consumer. And let’s get real here. People love wine. Yet, despite having an incredible idea for a course and being a (literal) certified Master of Wine, she is weighed down by those pesky, fear-inspired doubts we all know too well. What if no one purchases my offer? What if it's not good enough? How can I compete with everyone out there offering things for free? As we dig deeper into Anne’s fears (ones that are shared by many), I explain to her the way our brain can stand between us and our biggest dreams. Are you ready for it? Our minds are always going to look for reasons NOT to do something. It’s unfortunate, but it’s true. Keeping that truth in mind, we discuss the importance of selling to yourself before you can even begin trying to sell to others. Anne explores this and other mindset changes she can make, as well as tangible things she can do, to achieve the results she desires for herself and her clients. We talk about everything from finding your edge in the market to the importance of reminding yourself of your expertise and past success. And even though Anne can’t quite identify her absolute favorite type of wine, she does leave the call able to identify clear, actionable steps she will take to stop wishing and start doing. Anne’s story is one I have come across again and again (hey, even I face some of these fears at times). Our session (and the realizations it brought about) shows just how important coaching is when it comes to unlocking that next step in your business. These powerful conversations help to unlock the belief we need in ourselves to make huge strides in the direction of our dreams. Have you been feeling like fear is keeping you from your dreams? Book your Clarity Call today to see how we can help you break through the barriers holding you back. In this Episode: [02:34] Learn more about Anne and her work in the wine industry. [4:49] Anne shares the fears that are holding her back, including trading her time for money. [05:50] Hear Anne’s goals for her company and the vision she has for the future. [07:41] Anne discusses her resistance in taking those first steps to map out her course. [10:15] Looking on the flip side of fear. [11:21] Anne gets tangible and starts mapping out her course. [12:28] Your mind is always going to look for reasons not to do something. [13:35] The importance of (and need for) taking action. [15:05] Looking at the structure of an offer to build enthusiasm and confidence for both you and your customers. [16:27] The first action step: The power of mapping out a course. [19:12] Anne expresses her desire for flexibility and freedom. [20:35] The power of believing in yourself [21:19] “If it’s not scheduled, it’s not real.” [22:14] Do I turn down other work so I can get this offer up and out in the world? [25:16] Taking action and being in full choice around what this chapter is about for you. [27:30] Building awareness and protecting yourself against the rabbit hole of doubt. So you need to be on high alert any time your mind tries to take you down that rabbit hole and remind yourself what you’re capable of and that there are people who will purchase this.” -Emily Williams “I got to the overall mapping out of my dreams, but when it started to get more specific, I kind of felt all this resistance coming up. So I haven't actually sat and mapped that out.” -Anne McHale “There's a fear that I would disappoint people. That I'd be charging too much, given how much free content there is out there about wine and how many wine people are out there sharing knowledge. Why would they pay for me?” -Anne McHale

🎧149: How to Avoid the Top 4 Entrepreneurial Energy Traps with James Williams
As a high-performing, driven entrepreneur, you probably feel the need to go, go, go all the time. Does the phrase, “I’ll sleep when I’m dead,” ring any bells? Well, that mentality is neither healthy nor is it productive. Listen as my husband and Certified High-Performance Coach James joins me to discuss the top four entrepreneurial energy traps and how you can overcome them. The first trap to consider is our addiction to mental stimulation. So many entrepreneurs feel that if they stop and take a breath, then they’re letting themselves, their businesses, and their employees and contractors down. But the brain wasn’t designed to be “on” all the time. In fact taking the time to rest, refocus, and recharge is imperative to health and growth. Next is the need to experience extreme euphoria every single day. Think of falling in love. That passion and obsession that you feel initially eventually fades away to a nice, comfortable, steady love. To stay in a state of euphoria would be terrible for your health and for any relationship you might have. So it’s damaging to think that staying in that state for your business is productive. If you live by the motto, no pain no gain, then you may be a victim of the third energy trap. Sometimes we feel we need to feel fear, pain, and stress, because if we aren’t then we must not be working hard enough. Again, you can love what you’re doing and still be working. If you’re feeling fear, pain, and stress then you’re probably focusing on the wrong things. Last but certainly not least, entrepreneurs and creatives have a tendency to stay focused in the wrong time. James likens this to there being three rooms that you spend your time in, the past, the present, and the future. We tend to spend more time in the future than in the present, but in reality, the future doesn’t exist. Spend more time in the present and take action and you’ll oftentimes feel less stressed. Want to know how you can acknowledge and overcome these energy traps? Listen in to hear what James has to say on slowly but surely building habits that kick the traps to the curb. And if you hear nothing else, remember to start taking some small action today. Rome wasn’t built in a day and shifting your mindset around rest and recovery won’t happen in just one day either. In this Episode: [02:22] Welcome James back to the show. [04:15] A quick frame of the four traps to open the conversation. [05:46] The first challenge that entrepreneurs face is their addiction to mental stimulation. [09:26] How can we break the addiction to mental stimulation? [13:41] The addiction to wanting to experience extreme euphoria every day is a lack mindset. [14:34] What is the second entrepreneurial energy trap? [18:51] Living an inspiring life requires more than just running a business. [21:34] It’s important to think of yourself as an athlete because running a business is like running a marathon. [22:28] What you can do if you’re not sure how to transform your mindset around rest and recovery? [23:26] The third entrepreneurial energy trap. [26:01] Hear an amazing quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson. [26:29] How can you change the “need” to feel fear, pain, and stress? [29:41] Learn the fourth energy trap. [34:15] Ways that you can keep yourself firmly in the present so that you can take action. [36:22] If you’re dealing with any of these four things, then make a commitment today to shift away from these traps. 🎧148: How to Prepare Your Business for the Holidays
Does taking time off from your business send your anxiety into a frenzy? What if I told you that time away is one of the most important things that you can do for your life, your health, and your business? (Hint: It is!) Which is why I’m sharing how to prepare your business for the holidays. The first thing you need to do is take stock of what it would look like for you to truly enjoy your holiday season. Would it be hanging out with friends and family? Reading? Blankets and hot cocoa by the fire with loved ones? A trip to go skiing? What’s the real desire? No matter what it looks like, really visualize the best holiday you can and then think of how many days off you need to make that happen. If you need a few days to get into vacation mode before you can enjoy it, then build in some additional days. If you know that you’re going to want alone time to read or sit in silence or just feel refreshed, then build that in. Once you’ve determined how many days off you need for your vacation, it’s time to take out your calendar and mark those days off. They’re non-negotiable. So, what do you have going on from a business perspective in Q4 and Q1? Do you have a launch to prepare for? Client work to figure out? What does your work schedule look like? Then work on getting everything done in advance that you can. Take this podcast for example. I won’t be recording episodes and approving show notes while I’m on vacation. I’ll batch the work and everything will be set up and done far in advance of the vacation. The last thing to consider (but not last in importance!) is your clients. But the good thing is, they’ll likely be looking to take time off as well. Just be sure to have conversations with them early on so that you manage their expectations and leave them fully supported, even when you’re offline. Holidays and time off are insanely important for your health and the growth of your business. Don’t succumb to the need to just work through it. Take the time away and come back refreshed for 2021. In this Episode: [02:39] What would it look like for you to enjoy the holiday season? [05:33] Next, decide how many days you want to take off. [07:52] Why seeing the benefits of all of your hard work helps settle into vacation mode. [10:50] What are your goals for the rest of the year and Q1 and then think about what that will take from a marketing perspective. [14:36] How to set up your calendar for success. [16:11] Ways to make sure your clients are supported but understand that time off is necessary. [20:39] How do you want to feel at the start of the year? Have you been thinking upleveling your business but aren’t sure if you’re ready yet? I’ve definitely been there, and I’m sharing the top four signs that you are ready to uplevel your business. Because taking that next step is scary, so if the signs are there, know that you’re ready. The first sign, the fact that you’re even thinking of upleveling. If it’s in your heart then it’s a sign that you’re ready. There’s obviously a lot more that goes into it, but if you’ve never thought of that next stage of business, then you’re not ready. If you have then you know it’s time to really take a deep dive and consider it. Next, have you done the fine-tuning in your business? Have you launched several times? Do you have raving fans? Have you systematized the processes in your business to the point that it seems to run on autopilot? Then it may be time to consider upleveling. If you have the data and the experience with your own products and services and you’re thinking it’s time to scale, then you may be right! Of course, the next sign is that you actually have the capacity to receive more in your business. If you’re a one-woman show and you’re struggling to get everything done, then you likely don’t have the capacity to receive more. However if you’ve started the hiring process and you have a team and you have the availability, then you probably have the capacity to receive. Last but not least, your mindset. If you’ve been working on your mindset and you know that you are there, then you’re likely ready to uplevel. Mindset work is so important when you’re thinking of moving to the next level. Your mindset will hold you back if you haven’t been doing the work. So, where are these signs pointing for you?  In this Episode: [02:37] Learn the first sign that you’re ready to uplevel. [05:22] The next sign that you’re ready to uplevel...you’ve already fine-tuned. [07:49] Do you have the capacity to receive more and go to the next level?
