What to do with your money BEFORE you start spending it. Are the rewards worth it on your credit card? You don't have to go out and make more money to have more money. When walking into the grocery store, know exactly what you need and what you'll get. Create a meal plan There is so much information on how to cut costs, but you just have to do it. Just like getting healthy, you know what you have to do it, just do it. When in the grocery store, put just one item back. Take how much you saved from putting it back and put it in your savings. Are you really "saving" money when you spend less on something. If the electric budget is $100 and is only $60 put $40 into a savings account. And so much more! How To Never Retire But Feel Like You Did With Tom Sylvester - Episode 027
Retiring in your early 30's is the goal of many, but how will they get there? Today's guest had the goal of retiring at the age of 35 and started one business after another to help him accomplish that. Now, he lives the life of his dreams and has complete control over his time. Enjoy this interview with Tom Sylvester. Today's episode is brought to you by I Am The Future Me Marketing. We help you get your products or service in front of the right people to take the action you want. Whether that's signing up for your course, buying your products, or stepping foot into your brick and mortar business we can get it done. For more information go to iamthefutureme.com/marketing and fill out the form. Today We Discuss Getting started in the stock market takes money if you don' t have money you need to get it from somewhere. Had an idea that would generate income and his wife said no. That didn't stop him, nor did it ruin their relationship. You don't need to pay a ton of money to get started with a business. Figure out your first step, research whatever that is, then do it. "Starting now is better than starting later, even if the times not perfect". Pay yourself, even when you're starting, that way when you hire people you pay them less than you paid yourself so you can afford to run it. Give yourself options, if you get a boss you don't like, or the economy takes a turn and you don't have a job, you have something else. Do one thing at a time, don't start multiple businesses at the same time. Get one thing going, then work on the next. What to look at first when hiring a team. (It isn't their skills or experience) You're never going to know everything, don't let that stop you from taking the next step. And so much more! Are You Living Mindfully With Cait Flanders - 016
During this 16th episode of I Am the Future Me podcast, host Tyler Philbrook interviews the blogger and author Cait Flanders, who has most recently released the book “The Year of Less” that tackles the topic of consumption. Cait shares the shifts in her life that took her from becoming a blogger about debt and money to being a writer dealing with simplifying your lifestyle to allow you to focus on consuming the elements in your life that provide the most value and make you feel good. Show Notes: Cait Flanders has had many business projects: Blonde on a Budget, Honest Money Conversations, and Budgets and Sense. She began blogging about her journey to get out of debt in 2011, and eventually achieved getting out of debt in 2013. Cait’s writing topics have shifted from money to intentional living, simple living, and being mindful of what we consume. Over consumption can have a negative effect on our health and our outlooks on life. Keep talking about the things you need to change and want to pursue to get input and positive reinforcement to help you get to the place where you can start making them happen. There is way too much pressure to be perfect. You don’t always have to be the solution; there is also value in sharing your journey instead of just the end result. Trying something new gives her a bigger boost in confidence. Making mistakes makes you even better at that thing next time. Cait wants to write more books and wants to have a career as an author, and business-wise she wants to bring the outdoors into her work. We may start on one journey, but that doesn’t mean that is what we are always going to do. What value does this thing bring to me, and if I feel bad, what shift can I make in my relationship to that bad feeling? 3 Key Points: Consumption is not just what we spend our money on, but it includes: foods, drinks, things we bring into our homes, media, and information. Pick the media sources that add real value to your life and let go of the ones that don’t. What you start with isn’t what you always have to stay with.
