Josh Campos is Dedicated to Helping You Find Happiness and Purpose in Your Life
What's Inside the Interview? I like to keep the episodes between 45 minutes and 1 hour, but Josh and I found so much to discuss that I had a lot of work to do when editing to determine what to keep. Josh shares 1 hour of pure value of how you can surround yourself with top level people while remaining focused on happiness and your overall life's purpose. Josh, just like you, myself and everyone else took a little while to determine what his purpose was for life. He started off in medical school, studying to be a doctor and eventually found out it wasn't for him. Along this discovery he went on a missions trip which helped him realize what life is like when you're in the company of amazing people on the same mission. (no pun intended) One of the most impressive parts of Josh's story is that he owns everything that he does. We briefly touch on his first marriage ending in a divorce and he doesn't point fingers, when obviously it takes two to withstand a lifetime of marriage. Josh owns absolutely everything in his life, good and bad and maintains his vision towards his life's purpose. Much like the premise of the I Am The Average podcast, Josh, now more than ever understands the importance of the people in his life. He isn't afraid to invest money into coaching or professionals who can help him get from where he is to where he wants to be. Josh and I touch on all of this as well as what you can do to practically apply it all to your life and begin living the life of your dreams today. Probably most important in our lives is being able to put all of this aside and just enjoy the little things in life: family, nature, fun, friends, relaxing. As always, if you're not reaching out to the guests on the I Am The Average podcast, you're wrong. Follow the links just below and shoot these amazing guests a message! Episode Highlights: Why you may need to take a deeper look into your childhood to determine your purpose Why personal time away from work is just as important as the work itself Building the life of your dreams takes two special ingredients Why owning your life is the quickest way to success Nobody is going to make you take action, it must come from within, but plenty will help

Amanada Larrinaga: The Importance of Taking Care of Yourself Before Taking on the World
Amanda has pinpointed what it takes to ensure that she is surrounding herself with the best people possible.  As she explains in the interview, she has learned the importance of leaning into the strong, productive relationships in her life to not only bring out the best in her, but also to minimize the influence negative people can have on her life. Previously Amanda has worked in Silicon Valley building businesses of her own and helping others to do the same. She now works along similar lines, only she has worked more in the realm of "for purpose" businesses and non-profits. While distancing ourselves from destructive, or at the very least, non-productive relationships can be difficult, Amanda shares some very actionable advice you can implement today to begin that process and the next journey of your life. As a successful young entrepreneur she discovered the importance behind our inner circle of people in our lives. A major theme that I found important to Amanda is how incredibly vital it is to always be aware of our own well-being before taking on the rest of the World. If we aren't in the right state of mind ourselves, there is very little chance of achieving any sort of success in trying to help others. We must always be asking ourselves the right questions and making sure that not only our relationships are aligned with our goals, but also that all aspects of our lives are in proper working order as well. Ask yourself, is what I am giving advice on something that I understand and have right in my life? If so, you are on track to begin taking on the world! If you reach out to Amanda, be sure to wish her an early congratulations on her upcoming wedding!

Lily Gagliardi DaCruz Shows the World that She can Overcome Anything!
Lily Gagliardi DaCruz, founder of Lily's Kids Inc., has one of the most inspiring stories I've heard. She shares how she had to make the toughest decision of her young life at the age of 13, something that we both wish none of you ever has to make.  Being born with a genetic heart disease called SVT and forced into a tough decision at such a young age Lily made the decision to undergo surgery to correct her heart condition. After she made the decision she underwent the surgery and as you'll find out in the interview, she is doing great today.  Not only is she doing great, she's helping young people live healthy lives and educating them on some common misconceptions about living a healthy lifestyle.  Lily shares some great tips on how you can begin distancing yourself from the relationships in your life that might not be helping in your journey of chasing your dreams. She dives into some relationships in her past that were difficult, but necessary to leave in order to continue on the journey she was on.  Throughout the interview we have some good laughs and were able to really bring some great value to the area of building great relationships in order to best chase your dreams. When you eliminate negativity from your life in all kinds, you are well on your way to attaining your own definition of success.

Logan and Jordan Are Making Social Good Businesses the New Norm
Doing Good Works (DGW), at the core of it's mission is about maximizing improvements for foster youth while making it easy for companies to incorporate corporate social responsibility. On another hand it's made up of people, like me and you, like Jordan, Logan, Scott and the rest of the DGW team who care about making a real impact with their life and in the live's of others. Although Scott wasn't able to sit down for this chat with us, Logan and Jordan shared their stories, how DGW went from idea to fully functioning business and what they plan to do in the future. By hearing Jordan and Logan's story you hear the genuine care they have for not just foster youth, but people as a whole and in helping you overcome adversity in your own life. Much like your own life, they both have had to overcome relationships not productive to their goals. They've experienced and learned the real impact our relationships have on our life made the decision to distance themselves from negative ones to make room for productive ones. While creating these productive relationships they've been able to build a multi-million dollar business whose impact is felt far beyond their physical location in California. Through DGW, Cause Cups and Promote4Good the DGW team has helped businesses to easily incorporate social responsibility into their models. If there's one thing this interview left me wanting it was more businesses like Doing Good Works, of which Jordan mentions during the interview when he says he hopes people steal their business model. The other thing I wanted more of is their cold brew coffee–it's organic, fairly traded, craftily brewed and it supports foster youth.  If you're asking for anything more, you're just getting greedy. :)

Ashley Zahabian Shares What it Takes to Live a Fulfilling Life
It's one thing to desire a change for your life, to listen to podcasts and read books, to workout/eat healthier and invest into yourself. However, it's something completely different to do everything previously mentioned and then actually take conscious steps towards an end goal.  Throughout this interview you can tell exactly how determined Ashley is to live the kind of life she wants and to help others do the same. Whether she is speaking to an audience or directly into your ears through this interview it is easy to notice how motivated she is to lead others by sharing her story and the lessons she has learned along the way.  As you might know by now, I Am The Average is about our relationships and the impact they have on our life. Ashley is incredibly in tune with the people in her life and the help or hindrance they provide to her. She shares many examples of the role these people play in her life and what holds us back when trying to let go of those troublesome relationships.  When I was first introduced to her I quickly realized, much like myself she is unafraid of sharing her story and using it as a tool to connect with other people and allowing them to be vulnerable themselves. If you have struggled with anything in your past or do struggle with anything you will undoubtedly connect with her and find loads of value in Ashley's story  Near the end of the interview we dive into those pesky little (negative) voices in our head, how they affect our overall well-being and what we can do about it. I will be the first one to say that I struggle with negative thinking and our discussion about this will hopefully help to clear this up for you and bring some clarity to you.

Tim Sykes Uses Transparency to Prove That Success is a Choice
Tim is one of the most high energy people I've ever had the chance of speaking with and you will undoubtedly understand this after listening to his interview. You will see that he sees the positivity in any situation (ahemm, Kim Kardashian–you'll have to listen to understand this reference) and knows how to create wealth with this mentality. Tim has been featured in nearly every major news organization/publication, and most recently was on the Steve Harvey show! He not only enjoys making money for hisself, but also teaching others to do the same in hopes of living a better life. If there is one thing that stands out in our time together it's that Tim tries to prove in everything he does that there is no "secret recipe" to becoming successful. But rather that success is a combination of making a choice to pursue it and working hard to achieve it. Tim's journey through life thus far has allowed him to realize that he is ultimately in control and gives some of the best advice I've heard when we find ourselves in a bad situation: "cut losses quickly." Ultimately, it's up to us to focus on the stuff that moves us in the right direction and have the power to exit, whether it's a relationship, a job, a hobby, or a stock trade... More than anything I want you to realize that your mindset is the determining factor of where you are and where you will go. Tim touches on this in the end of the episode and really proves that pursuing your dreams is not something that only happens to others, it can happen to you. Find the right people, get them in your life and walk side by side on your journey to achieving what it is that you wa

Alexis Teichmiller's Resilience and Drive Will Inspire You to Take Action
If you understand one thing about I Am The Average and what we're doing it would be transparency through the stories of our fellow Millennials. Alexis is the perfect example of reflecting on life's experiences and driving forward in the best way possible.  Alexis shared two notable stories throughout the time we spent together, one that many of us might be familiar with–finding a first love, and gradually realizing the relationship was detrimental to our overall well-being. After realizing this, Alexis remained strong, ended the relationship and took some time to fall in love with herself.  The second story Alexis dives into is that of a mentor (Mr. L) who has been one of the most important relationships in her life. He has taught her countless invaluable lessons, and was recently diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer, through which he continues to spread his wisdom to Alexis and others.  The stories Alexis tells are not only relatable to anyone who takes the time to listen, but valuable in being able to share step-by-step the actions she took to remain resilient and overcome difficult life experiences, which would force some to lose focus.  There are no doubts Alexis has remained true to her vision of empowering others to live a life they love. She speaks with clarity on her positive ideals of the millennial generation and seeks to use her experiences and lessons to drive forward a lasting impact with her already incredible life and story.
