Ep. 14- Jess Pryles- Professional Hardcore Carnivore
Do we like meat? You better believe it! Thats why we are so excited to have had the one and only Professional Hardcore Carnivore on our show, Jess Pryles. Jess has an affinity for meat that few, if any, can surpass. After deciding that she was tired of loving meat, but not knowing how to prepare it, or where it came from, Jess gave herself a "meatucation". She has appeared as a celebrity judge on Aussie Barbecue Heroes, judged at the American Royal World Series of Barbecue, spoken at a host of meat and barbecue events, and has created her very own Hardcore Carnivore rub. Drawing on all of the knowledge and experience she has amassed over the years we discuss all things meat, cooking meat, and her most recent experience harvesting a buck at Jeff's ranch. If you enjoyed this podcast, and we know you did, check out more of Jess's content and recipes on her website, www.JessPryles.com. Ep. 13- Goodbye to a River and Automated Umpires
I bet you didn't know that in addition to discussing current events, hunting, and other intelligent quandaries, the Huntin' For The Truth crew is also skilled at book reviews! Although this episode isn't a true book review, we are talking about Goodbye to a River, by John Graves, and how it inspired Jeff to take on a river trip of his own. We discuss the book, the author, and Jeff's plans for his own expedition down the Brazos River. Through a couple of segways about Mark's son's football injury, high school sports insurance, and the World Series, we end the show debating the use of automated umpiring systems in baseball. As always, make sure you check us out on Facebook for more great HFTT content, and take a peek at our episode pages for links to the topics we cover. https://www.facebook.com/HuntinForTheTruth http://www.huntinforthetruth.com

Ep. 12- Shannon Franklin and Survival Journeys
Have you ever wanted to leave society in the dust and escape to nature alone for a month? We know we definitely have, and that is just what our guest Shannon Franklin did this year. After attending Sigma III Survival School, Shannon set out to live, and survive, off of the land by herself for 30 days. We were lucky enough to get to talk with her first hand about her amazing experience. We were able to pick her brain about her experience, the trials and triumphs of solo survival, and the healing power of solitude in nature. You do not want to miss this awesome episode. Stay tuned! Make sure you check out the episode page on our website for links to resources and some awesome pictures from Shannon's time in the woods! http://www.huntinforthetruth.com/podcast/ep-12-shannon-franklin/

Ep. 11- Gun Talk and Gilligans Island
Do you like guns? We like guns! So, because we own the podcast, we decided we would make an executive decision and talk about some gun issues. Jeff recently hosted a Concealed Carry course at his ranch, and talks about what the class entails, as well as why he was motivated to host such a class. After some legal talk about the firearm codes in Texas, Mark and Jeff talk about the media, and make a smooth segway into Sean Hannity and the Affordable Care Act. Not ones to slow down the momentum of the show, Mark and Jeff come full circle and finish off the episode strong with more gun control related issues, and an analysis of Gilligan's Island. Don't miss this one! Make sure you check out the web page for this podcast for more awesome content! We even have GIFs! http://www.huntinforthetruth.com/podcast/ep-11-gun-talk

Ep. 10- Unfriend Me & Yogi Berra
Unfriend Me! The World Wide Web seems to be filled with easily offended crybabies these days (we hope that didn’t offend anyone…), and we want to talk about it! We kick off the episode with some patriotic flare, and get right into talking about the Hollywood movie rating system. After some talk of movies, Jeff and Mark get into why they feel people are so polarized on social media, and how this polarization has caused the current un-friending spree they have been witnessing. After Mark leaves the podcast early (father duty called), Tucker and T-Bone talk about their experiences with political discourse on social media. PS: T-Bone wanted us to tell you that he wants everyone to check the episode pages. He said he puts funny gifs and useful links up there. Ep. 9- Does Sex Sell & Viagra
Does Sex really sell? With the increasing use of sex as a sales tactic, we wanted to explore whether or not using sex appeal as a marketing scheme is truly effective. After we give their first thoughts on the question at hand, Jeff and Mark dive into the issue headfirst, first, with a focus on the hunting industry, and then later taking on the fast food industry and their advertising strategies. Along the way, staying true to form, we talk about the best ways to handle a 4 hour long erection, why the ancient Greeks competed in their birthday suits, and why Mark still won’t buy knives from naked women. Stay tuned for another great episode with the Huntin’ For The Truth Crew. Ep. 9- Spear Hunting & Sports Bras for Jeff and Mark
The hunting world has been filled with stories discussing the Bowmars and their sticky situation with Under Armour. This week Jeff and Mark will be adding their input to this increasingly polarizing story. The controversy started after Sarah Bowmar filmed her husband Josh Bowmar harvesting a bear with a spear. While the hunt was legal, the couple was attacked by the anti-hunting crowd, and after major pressure from the same, Under Armour decided to drop their sponsorship of Sarah Bowmar. Jeff talks about why he is against spear hunting as an ethical means of harvest, and Mark illustrates why he believes that the real issue of ethics is not the weapon of choice, but rather the accuracy and skills of the hunter. After all the serious talk, because a Huntin’ For The Truth episode would not be complete without a few sidebars, we discuss Lululemon, and Mark hunting in sports bras. Ep. 8- Being a Hunting Husband & Vegetarians
We promised to be apolitical today, and even though we had a discussion on vegetarians, we wouldn’t qualify that as politics. That issue is one of health and nutrition, so it falls safely out of the realm of politics, right? Before we get into vegetarians Jeff and Mark talk about how lucky they are to have wives that let them hunt as much as they do, which is, needless to say, a lot. As any hunter knows, it can be hard to balance family life and hunting, so we talk about how we do it. After some talk about balance, Jeff talks about his memories hunting and fishing with his father, and Mark recalls the good old days of way-too-big waders, and spending time with his dad hunting. Also, don’t miss our sing along to Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins (aka: The Top Gun song)

Ep. 7- Hunting First Aid & Tournaments of Tasteless Taxidermy
We all know how important it is to not die in the woods. Statistics show that hunters who perish afield have a significantly lower harvest success rate. That is why today we talk about some tips for patching yourself up when accidents do happen. Speaking of accidents, following the RNC and DNC, Mark and Jeff talk about their standout moments from both conventions. Mark also recounts his bloody encounter with a shotgun shell while hunting upland game birds. After that we discuss about what to do, and what not to do, when you bring your hard earned trophy to the taxidermist. Lastly, don't miss out on Jeff's ranch report, our favorite movie quotes, and free cheese!

Ep. 6- The Tragedy in Dallas & the IHOP Conspiracy
The past two weeks have been hard for our country, and have weighed heavy on the hearts of Jeff and Mark. As a former Firefighter and EOD Bomb Tech in Ft. Worth Texas, the tragedy in Dallas hit close to home for Jeff. Jeff takes the time to reflect on the event from the point of view of a first responder. After talking about the shootings in Dallas we move on to discuss predator control. Coyotes, wolves, bobcats, cougars and wild hogs are all on the table for discussion. With a ranch in California, Mark talks about his struggle with predator populations, and the difficulties of dealing with them in the nanny state of California. Finally, to end on a lighter note, we talk about 30 Lb raccoons, hipsters, and the conspiracy IHOPs senior discount menu. Stay tuned for a great show.

Hold on to your seats because we start talking the intricacies of indelicate grammar, cigars, and what hunting trips we have planned for the future! Stay tuned for another awesome F-ing episode!
