welcome to the last episode of season four of human becoming. this episode is a kind of recap of the previous four seasons and the journey that we've gone on together. it is the last episode of 2022 (at least, it was recorded in 2022).and it is an invocation of change, as we move into the fifth season of the podcast and the mysteries that it holds.blessed 2023, sweet magician.

ever get tired of bandaid solutions? watching humans living under capitalism is like watching someone slowly get stabbed and putting little bandaids over the wounds. at a point you just want to scream: "HOW ABOUT WE STOP THIS GUY FROM GETTING CUT?!"but changing the systems and structures that allow for this constant cutting is not enough if we don't transform the underlying level of consciousness that allows for a world to be built that is #deathbyathousandcuts.today's episode is a long and windy road, it feels like two friends sitting in the desert and talking about the fall of capitalism under a romantic sky. it rambles and goes in circles and I say "what was I saying?" many times. Love's ending is painful. Whether it's a friendship, a romantic relationship, a familial tie - and whether love ends through a physical or spiritual/psychological/energetic death, it's fucking painful. We don't have a lot of rituals and ceremonies in this society to honour the ending of Love - to honour our grief, our sadness, our pain, our anger, our confusion, our frustration. Our ceremonies and rituals become vilifying the other, playing "who will win the breakup" or "move on" first, or disassociating from the deep grief that we're feeling.This episode is part ceremony - part ritual - part podcast. It is filled with tears and sobs and snotty sounds. It is an honouring of Love's beginning, middle and ending, and an exploration of how I am meeting the ending of a particularly beloved connection.May Love be with you, always.

This episode is all about feeling like a failure. I feel like a failure very often, despite how much or how little I judge myself as doing, and I've come to realize that this is just another annoying side effect of growing up under capitalism. Oh well. In this episode, I speak about how I relate to this voice in my head, how it shows up NO MATTER what, and how ultimately I think I want to recognize that this voice will show up every once in a while, and it... doesn't have to mean anything at all. I procrastinated SO much around the creation and uploading of this episode (very fitting, given the subject matter) but here it is. Sometimes, I don't want to show up for my practices (my spiritual practices, my creative artistic practices, my self-care practices). We become what we practice, and we are always practicing SOMETHING. In this episode, I speak about what it's like to show up for our practices in a devotional way even when we don't really feel like it or are feeling decidedly avoidant in connection to them, and how this can create such beautiful creative openings in our lives. We are often taught that brilliance is something that shows up as a rare, unexpected brush stroke, something that is either innate in us or lacking in us. There are fewer cultural stories celebrating the magic of consistent, devotional practice - the showing up that makes the blooming of creative genius possible. This episode is an ode to this magic.

Desire is God's way of communicating their will for us. In this episode, I speak about what that means, wax lyrical about the divinity of our desires and name the systems of oppression that actively benefit from and DEVOTE energy towards removing us from our desires. Desire brings (r)evolution, desire brings change, and if we want to change the conditions of our lives and our culture - we must begin by reclaiming our sacred knowledge of what we want.

I'm grieving. In this episode, I open my heart and my mouth to share some of that grief with you. I speak about my most recent breakup, how fucking HARD and infuriating it is to love men under the conditions of patriarchy, and the deep importance of all of us committing to the work of love at this moment in earth's history.

I speak about the dual wave-particle nature of atomic particles, the feminine path of consciousness and what it looks like to think about the energetic masculine and feminine in a de-gendered framework. Money is cool... and weird. I opened the doors of my business this January and since then I have received a LOT more money than I was expecting or thought possible. In this episode, I talk about where that has been hard, confronting, and joyful, and what having access to this money has allowed me to create and experience. I received all of this money through the use of magic - and this episode is also a celebration of that fact. Magic is real. Magic is real. Magic is real. Hi there, dear human becoming. I've been out and about and down and up and feeling all the things and questioning all the things and experiencing all the things - this is a little update on some of the beautiful chaos that I, Tumi, am moving through in this moment. 

Breakups are hard. Grief is hard. In the last month, I've had a friendship that I thought would last forever and a partnership that I hoped would last forever come to an end. Moving through this grief has been deeply humbling and opening and painful - and this episode is about how I've been moving through this process, what it's been teaching me and revealing to me about God and life and Love.

Ever find yourself wanting to offer something to the world and feeling like you can't because it has to be perfect? Because you need to know more? Because (insert little detail) isn't correct, or just as you'd like it? I love playing this little game with myself where I convince myself that I only get to show up, and offer myself (and my art, and my work) to the world if they're perfect - and then I just... never do the thing I want to do because it will NEVER be perfect. If you're in that space, wonderful! If there's something you've been wanting to share with the world but find yourself getting worked up over the fine print - this is the episode for you! The world needs you AND your unique contribution in all of its messiness.

It is about trauma, how humans who don't process their trauma will blow that trauma through other people, historical trauma (specifically around race), and a whole lot more.
