044: Season 1 Finale with Howie Kra (Part 2)
As I wrap-up Season 1, I’m blown away by the amazing things that have happened in the last nine months. I’ve traveled all over the world interviewing world class athletes, best-selling authors, high-performing founders and business leaders. Most recently, I earned a health and wellness certification from Villanova University. In today’s episode, I talk about how I’ve navigated the COVID19 pandemic, hit the reset button on my life and became a certified health coach who helps people live healthier, happier, more confident lives. I discuss how to create a future you’re passionate about and ways to stay the course when you’re feeling less-than-passionate. 043: Season 1 Finale with Howie Kra (Part 1)
These are strange times. Each day feels like a week, and each week feels like a month. And while it can all feel daunting at times, it’s also an opportunity to take stock of your life and make important changes, and support others who want to do the same. If we’re going to get through these times successfully, we must support each other emotionally, physically and spiritually as much as we can. In today’s episode, I catch up with Brenda on where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing as the world navigates a pandemic, enforced quarantines and a whole lot of craziness that can feel totally surreal. We talked about why we should all hit the “pause button” in our lives from time to time, why 24-hour news cycles are toxic to our health and wellness, and why I decided to stop worrying about my life and start living my passion. 042: Why You Gotta Have Courage in Life and Business with Brandon Steiner
Brandon Steiner is no stranger to adversity. Early in his career, he opened a popular NYC sports club at a time when television-watching inside restaurants was unheard of. The first night he opened the doors to his club, he had zero patrons. The second night, he had one. “And that’s because I begged someone standing outside to please come in and give us a try,” he says half-joking. Three months later, the club had throngs of people waiting to get inside and some of the world’s most famous athletes seated at tables. In today’s episode, I interview Brandon Steiner, an author, speaker, serial entrepreneur and seminal figure in the world of sports business. Known as the “Godfather” of sports collectibles and memorabilia, Brandon is the founder and creator of The Steiner Agency, a marketing and talent agency that has worked with some of the biggest names in sports. In this episode, I talk with entrepreneur and executive success coach Jason Frazell on the class that changed his life, why he hired a coach, the fears he had to overcome and the changes he needed to make to have an exceptional life. 040: How Business Leaders Are Responding To A Changing World with Kinsey Grant
When Kinsey Grant first appeared on Episode 17 - "How To Handle Change In A Changing World," no one could have predicted the radical changes the planet would undergo just a few months later as a result of Covid-19. It’s hard to say which changes will stick and which will fall away, but one thing’s for sure: how we live and how we do business around the world has indeed changed. And it will continue to change for years to come. Like most significant world events, we will come to describe life in terms of before COVID-19 and life after COVID-19. In today’s episode, I speak with Kinsey Grant, business editor of Morning Brew, an online newsletter with more than 2 million subscribers and host of the Brew’s popular Business Casual podcast. We discuss the latest post-COVID19 news, what’s happening in the stock market, retail, travel and food industries, and what’s next on Kinsey’s radar. 039: Transformation From the Inside Out with Dr. Jean-Claude Doornick
For the last seven years, J.C. Doornick begins his daily Facebook Live show by greeting his viewers with this quippy intro: “Hi, my name is Dr. J.C. Doornick. I’m a recovering bullshit artist and I’ve been clean for 14 years.” On the outside, the former chiropractor was the picture of success – a beautiful family, thriving business and all the accolades anyone could want. On the inside, his life was a mess: his marriage was in shambles, his business was making him miserable and he had packed on so much weight he was deemed clinically obese. Once an accomplished athlete and driven businessman who regularly worked 80-100 hours per week, J.C. realized his success was not sustainable. He knew he needed to make a radical change. “The truth is, I was a bullshit artist,” he says. “I was afraid and I had zero confidence.” In today’s episode, I speak with health and transformation coach Jean-Claude Doornick on how to transform yourself from the inside-out, take your business from good to great, and bust through stagnation to create the life of your dreams. 037: Preparation is Everything with Howie Kra
“Getting back to normal” is something we hear a lot about these days. But no one really knows what that will look like or if it’s even possible. Can we really ‘go back to normal’ after COVID19 has wreaked so much havoc around the world across all sectors of life? No one can say with any certainty how things will turn out, not even the experts. But one thing’s for sure: these are strange times we’re living in, and to get through them will require lots of preparation. In today’s episode, I talk about life BC (before coronavirus), DC (during coronavirus), and AC (after coronavirus). As you wait for daily, non-essential operations to resume, how are you using the downtime to prepare for life ‘after corona’? What activities are you devoting your time to that will improve your life and business? How are you preparing for the life you really want? 036: Developing Mental and Emotional Toughness in Challenging Times with Steve Drum
High-stakes situations force us to dig deep. Real deep. Sometimes that means having to summon up the physical toughness to get through life or death situations. And sometimes that means having the mental and emotional toughness to know when to stay the course — and when to pivot. No one knows this better than international speaker and retired Navy Seal Master Chief Steve Drum, who has led and developed high performance teams in the military and corporate America for more than 25 years. In today’s episode, Steve talks about the skills needed to survive — even thrive — in extreme conditions. He talks about the attributes of strong, effective leaders; the qualities of successful teams; and the focus and discipline needed to get through the long, hard slog of challenging times. IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS... The three components that make-up toughness. The difference between toughness and resilience. How to build and develop successful teams. The art of building trust. And much, much more... 034: Becoming the “You-Est You” with Julie Reisler
Just five minutes with Julie Reisler is enough to turn a hardened cynic into a hopeful dreamer. Her energy, optimism and positive outlook on life are infectious. But she wasn’t always like that. For years, Julie struggled with food addiction, toxic relationships and people-pleasing. It left her feeling tired, depressed and anything but cheery. In today’s episode, life designer, author and host of “The You-Est You” podcast, Julie Reisler, describes how she learned to say no to the things that dragged her down, tune-in to her own needs and finally take control of her life. A master of reinvention, Julie believes everyone has the power to change for the better, even in the face of fear and uncertainty. All they have to do is decide. 032: How To Strengthen Relationships in the Age of Social Distancing with Howie Kra
At a time when terms like “social distancing”, “self quarantine” and “shelter-in-place” are becoming part of our everyday vernacular, nurturing important relationships is key to our personal and professional success. While we may not be able to carry on with business as usual, we shouldn’t neglect the people in our immediate and extended networks. Social distancing does not mean social isolation. In today’s episode, I talk about why it’s important to reach out to the people in our network to see how they’re doing; let them know what we’re up to; and ask how we can be of service. I discuss how to strengthen our relationships when we can’t socialize IRL, how to leverage technology to deepen interactions and why we all need to “Always Be Connecting.”   Show Notes: HowieDoinIt.com/32 Subscribe, Rate, & Review: http://howiedoinit.com/subscribe Connect with Howie: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube Ask Howie: If you want Howie to answer your questions in an upcoming episode, drop him a line at questions@howiedoinit.com

030: How To Quiet The Noise In Chaotic Times with Rami Odeh
Rami Odeh wasn’t a good runner. He wasn’t a good swimmer. In fact, as a kid, he wasn’t athletic at all. But over time, Rami’s ambitions grew and, with drive and determination, he went from barely being able to run around the block to running 100-mile races and competing in Ironman triathlons. How did he do that? “I don’t think about running 100 miles,” he says. “I think about running from aid station to aid station.” In today’s episode, author, speaker, coach and ultra-endurance athlete Rami Odeh talks about how our biggest moments of personal growth occur when we are able to transcend discomfort and difficulty. He talks about how to set, and reach, “big hairy audacious goals”, and why it’s crucial to learn to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Rami has dual master’s degrees in industrial psychology and exercise physiology, and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a health and fitness specialist. As an amateur triathlete, obstacle course racer, and trail runner, Rami has completed over 300 running races, obstacle courses, and multi-sport events — including Ironman Florida in 1999, multiple 1/2 Ironman events and multiple on-and-off-road marathons — since 1992. 028: How We Do Anything Is How We Do Everything with Howie Kra
A little more than a year ago, I started a show I had no idea would have such a profound impact on my life and the lives of others. Every day for 365 days, I started the day by broadcasting a livestream video on Facebook and Instagram with the intention of motivating, energizing and moving people to take control of their lives, especially when they feel stuck, uninspired or defeated. Little did I know, the journey would change my life. In today’s episode, I talk about the relationships I developed, the places I visited and the lessons I learned from going “all-in” on a project that has allowed me to share my wisdom and expertise with people from around the world. It is my firm belief that how we do anything is how we do everything – and when we commit to doing the hard work of becoming our very best selves in both life and business, nothing can stop us.   Show Notes: HowieDoinIt.com/28 Subscribe, Rate, & Review: http://howiedoinit.com/subscribe Connect with Howie: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube Ask Howie: If you want Howie to answer your questions in an upcoming episode, drop him a line at questions@howiedoinit.com
