SIARGAO: LEAVING ADVERTISING TO LIVE IN THE BEACH 🌊 🏝️ TALKING TO MARA FORTICH
#EscapeToSiargao#WorkingFromTheBeachIn continuing our series on how to escape your 9 to 5, we're talking this week to Mara Nepomuceno Fortich as she discussed how she left advertising and started doing freelance jobs working remotely from the beach. Mara shares with us how's it like to live in Siargao island, the Philippines' surf capital. Here she shares how she left advertising to live in the beach, and more than that, she tells us about the challenges and adjustments that she had to face. Initially, she worked odd and freelance jobs in restarting her life at the beach. It's been 8-years since she's taken on this path and its proven a worthwhile and effective style for Mara. We also discuss the different projects she's taken and the meaningful work she's done with Kudosurf and Kaleidoscope Kids to name a few. Lastly, Mara is also happy to help others get their feet wet in considering life at the beach as she sets up the Cosama Collective. The Cosama Colletive is a co-living and co-working space that aside from giving conducive working space for locals and travellers, seeks to enable others in getting a jumpstart on what it would be like to work remotely while living at the beach. This is a perfect continuation to my original video on "How to Escape your 9 to 5 to Live in the Beach" as I shared my move from Manila to Palawan. I hope to be able to share more stories on the means through which people are able to discuss their stories on "How to Move to Paradise". Do you know of others who can share their stores on "Leaving Your Job to Surf" or "How to Move to the Beach"? Or perhaps you know of others who can share along our theme of "How to Quit Your 9 to 5 Job".Let me know as I would love to get in touch and find out their stories! Want to try living in Siargao?
