Athulya Nambiar is a second-year engineering student at the University of Waterloo with her own start up tailored towards self defense and women who have experienced sexual violence. Having lived in India for most of her childhood as well as facing serious health concerns, Athulya has had a unique experience with academics and STEM. For our first episode of season 2, we chatted with our presidential team about their time at Queen’s, reflecting on the good and the bad, as they both approach graduation. For this episode, we are interviewing Professor Louise Meunier from Queen’s University. Dr. Meunier is an assistant professor in the Chemical Engineering department whose research is focused on the toxicity of contaminants in soil and risk assessment on environmental and human health. She discussed her experience from undergrad degree to getting a Ph.D. in a male dominated school and as well as her love of teaching.

For this episode, we are interviewing 2018-2019 Queen’s WiSE vice presidents, Hallie Prescott and Leanne Dube. Hallie is the external VP of WiSE while Leanne is the internal VP. They have both been involved on WiSE for many years here at Queen’s University. Today they are here to discuss their roles, differences, and their experiences as females in the STEM. 

For this episode, we are interviewing a very special guest, Professor Roshni Rainbow. Dr Rainbow is an assistant professor here at Queen’s in the Mechanical Engineering Department. She discussed her path to academia and her experiences as a woman in engineering.
