HooperCast 118: Film News, Changes
2:40 We are departing from Podbean, and effectively iTunes and Stitcher. We cannot afford the hosting fees anymore. For the time being, we will be primarily on our Youtube channel, HooperCast pod. 8:37 Letterboxd! 12:00 Our reaction/discussion of the final “Captain America: Civil War” trailer, which features Spider-Man! We also get into what we think ought to happen for/to Tony Stark in the aftermath of this film. 44:30 Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will voice Batman and Joker for “The Killing Joke”! 57:19 A big tangent about the animated series “Jackie Chan Adventures”. Here’s the “Ask Jackie” clip we can’t stop watching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-icE3_yTsk 1:08:36 Indiana Jones 5 is a go. Dustin pitches me a better premise than the one they’ll probably use for the movie. 1:15:04 Goodbye! This episode is brought to you by Letterboxd. HooperCast Re-Release old Ep. 013 Drunken Gigglefest, Dammit!
HooperCast Re-Release old Ep. 013 Drunken Gigglefest, Dammit! No new episode this week, so I decided to post a “remastered/re-edited/Frankenstein’d” version of an older episode of the show. This is the fullest version of Episode 13, recorded back in March 2012. It features Dustin and myself, but also our friend Kellan. It was a long episode that had many audio files, and some of it was lost to the winds, but I’ve salvaged what I could and I now have a more complete episode than I had when I originally posted it four years ago. I apologize for my own drunkenness here. I was 22 and did not yet know my limits when it came to alcohol consumption. I hosted as best as I could, until I no longer could. Hopefully, you’ll find it funnier than sad. Apologies also to anyone offended by crude language. Again, we (I) were younger and didn’t know how to be funny without cursing. We were hilarious in this episode though. 6:34 Jack and Jill review (or review of the first 10 minutes of it)10:02 Conner’s Revised Top Ten Movies of 201111:35 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 215:27 Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol17:36 Warrior20:10 The Way21:46 The Ides of March23:46 The King’s Speech24:00 Drive29:54 Rise of the Planet of the Apes32:26 Moneyball34:12 Rango44:26 Worst Movies of 201144:54 Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows——drunk and belligerant——45:11 The Dilemma50:05 The Hangover Part 251:50 The Change-Up52:26 Jack and Jill (again?)54:06 The Art of Getting By57:00 Movie Theater Food Price Lawsuit———DRRRRUNNNNNKKKK———1:11:30 Some shit1:15:20 Discussion of Reed Hasting’s (Netflix CEO) incompetence in 20121:18:29 Fan films on the Internet/Cats and balls/Dustin’s “accident” (his 2010 or 2011 skimboarding groin injury)1:21:50 “The Avengers” trailer/Terra Nova cancelled/small-budget TV shows with big-budget plots1:27:48 Danny DeVito and lots of sequels1:30:00 Listener’s terrible questions that I never should have answered.1:33:58 I very drunkenly try to explain the plot of ‘The Hunger Games” to Kellan1:40:13 Many many attempts to close out the show.….I’m so sorryThis episode is brought to you by Letterboxd.
